This gem is tucked away from the main tourist area. It offers a menu of Viennese, English and continental dishes mainly away from the norm with creative combinations of ingredients. It is small so booking is essential. The owner is a charming and humourous person who will tell you a few stories to make you chuckle. An enjoyable evening makes this place highly recommended.

Tryed the old Vienna last night for the first time last night and my expectations were high. On arrival a lady asked to take my wife's jacket and then put it on a pile of other coats and scarfs,I feel should be hung up. My wife had a starter which was amazing I tryed the duck and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered a bottle of wine which was put on the table. I expected the waitress to show me the wine or even pour the first glass. Some bread was brought to the table a nice touch but again I thought the waitress should have said what it was as it was a red colour and we did not know. It tasted great and on quizzing the waitress she told me it had paprika in it. I ordered the steak again WOW cooked perfect and was one of the best steaks I have eaten. The veg it came with was put on the table and again I feel the waitress should have said what it was as there was a square of some potato with something in it that was again amazing still not sure what it was. We had a great night I feel one of Torquays top restaurants but feel the food and wine were just put on the table. It would have added to the experience if I was told what I was served, the waitress was very polite. 5 star review as the food was some of the best dishes we have had the quality was 10 out of ten. Thanks for a nice night out.

Ephesus Torquay

21/02/2018: Not been here since we had a set meal on valentines a couple of years ago. Still top class Turkish / Greek food. Family run business with very good service. We had the calamari to start followed by Lamb Guvec dishes, excellent & reasonable prices. Gets busy at weekends so book if you're intending going then.
26/02/2018: Not a great dining experience but satisfactory. Food, ambience and service all very acceptable and the overall experience is good value for money. Would go again

Brody's Breakfast Bistro - Restaurant - Torquay,

27/03/2018: We decided to return to Brody's whilst in Torquay, after having been once before, several years ago. We very much enjoyed our previous experience and were looking forward to our return visit. However, it was disappointingly not as good as we remembered. The quality seemed to have gone downhill and the restaurant itself was looking tired and worn. The lady on the till was miserable and seemed annoyed when I asked for more waffle/pancake batter (which is kept behind the till, so despite the breakfast being 'unlimited' you have to ask any time you want more batter). She also seemed annoyed when I used the pancake or waffle makers after she had cleaned them. My husband had the all day breakfast and was disappointed with the lack of quality in the ingredients. He can usually eat a fair amount but he did not bother returning for more food. He liked the look of the waffles but was not able to try some of mine because of their no sharing policy. The one positive I would say is that I was impressed with the selection of sauces and spreads on offer. That being said, I did not want to use them because of hygiene factors - as I was there I witnessed a child put his spoon in his chosen spread, onto his food, in his mouth and back in the spread. He repeated this process with several of the spreads and put me off from using them. Instead I stuck with the selection of squeezable sauces on offer. We won't bother returning the next time we are visiting family in Torquay.
