We booked a table for 8 pm & when we arrived, we were told quite rudely that we would just have to wait with no idea how long this would be. The manager was very rude & unhelpful. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us, so we definitely would not recommend, and we will never return.

We sadly only discovered this restaurant recently and really wish we had found it much earlier. We are always made to feel welcome which alongside the lovely food and very reasonable prices has made this a regular haunt.

Lovely evening. Lovely food. Adorable staff. We had such a lovely evening, and the meal was an absolute bargain. Beautifully cooked seabass, sirloin steak, Greek salad that was so fresh. The staff are attentive and adorable.

Took my lady for a valentines meal. We got there and was directed to go upstairs. My partner did not want too go upstairs due to her bladder problems. We chose a seat as there was not many people there. We sat for a while then ordered our drinks. Then left for ages until the moody waitress arrived. We ordered then waited for a long time for our food. When the food arrived it was cold, bland and burnt to a cinder. My partner had lamb kebab and it was so tough and chared and dryi just couldn't swollow the first bite. I ordered the steak and that was also dry, cold and bland. We got no sauces with our meal and had to ask for them. My partner did not want his dinner and returned. I asked for a refund and they would only give half because she'd eaten some of it. To be honest a kebab would of been cheaper and more tastier. Disgusting service very bland food and the only thing I enjoyed was the carlsberg which was wet. I'm surprised that wasn't dry. Place should be shut down. We ended up with another couple sitting beside us and quickly shot across the road and eventually had a good drink and dance.

Lovely little place. Was very busy when we got there. Staff were great. My starter was a little on the lukewarm side but the company and general atmosphere of the place made it something I didn’t want to raise a complaint over.

The map placed our address at the wrong end of the street. The driver did not have the house number and had to call twice (not listening to the number and thought it was 40 not 4a).

Great little place that does incredible authentic Greek food - just like when we were on holiday. The place does get very busy so ensure you book. The food was really tasty, extremely good value for money, and the service is great. Highly recommend.

Could not recommend this place highly enough. Traditional greek food within a cosy and comfortable setting. The food was delicious - the halloumi and calamari were delicious. Huge range of starters so hard to choose. Chicken for main was beautifully cooked and my friend has the swordfish and said it was amazing! Deserts were lovely traditional greek deserts - I had a tasty custard pastry dish which was the perfect end to the meal. Really good value for money and the service was fantastic. Emily was our waitress and she was so friendly and proactive. The owner was also very hands on and helpful. Absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back for a cosy date night next time.

Booked a table for our school reunion christmas dinner. Woman that showed us to our table had a face like thunder, slammed a festive menu down on the table and left. Every other table was given a drinks menu and normal menus. We waited 45 minutes before someone came to take our order, which only happened because we waved a waiter down who was walking past. We had waited an hour and still had no drinks on the table, despite asking for them. This is honestly the worst service I've ever experienced. In the end we phoned the curry house next door (the Maharajah) and got a table straight away, with drinks on the table in 5 minutes.

Food was very authentic. The keftedes were light and well herbed. The dolmades were well cooked and flavourful. The traditional mousaka and stifado were delicious. Big portions. Desserts were fresh!

We Booked the Greek Taverna for our works Xmas meal, 16 of us in total. What a fantastic night we all had! The staff were so warm friendly and accommodating, great communication prior to our arrival. After some drinks inc Greek beers, most of us opted for the mezze of mixed starters and mains, including dips, meatballs, halloumi, sausages, vine leaves, prawns and pittas, all so flavourful and fresh. A great selection for our veggie and gluten free folks too. The portions were really good and (against the advice of the owner) we over ordered! After the starters, a huge platter of grilled meats and kebabs arrived piping hot, chicken, lamb, pork all tender and tasty, accompanied by a huge salad with deliciously creamy Feta! Puddings, for those who could fit them in were also very good - Tiramisu, a huge slab of Chocolate cake and fresh cheesecake. Would highly recommend this restaurant- authentic delicious Greek food and a warm welcome.

Me and a friend came here for his birthday, we were greeted by a lovely waitress (Emily) she was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was very warn and friendly and all the staff were professional and happy to help. we ordered the meze (the greek feast) we didn't like fish so emily gladly suggested an alternative, the food was amazing and the amount of food you get was a perfect amount, we left the taverna very full and happy, I highly recommend coming here if you haven't already.

Went on a weekday lunch - not busy but didn't expect it to be Staff very polite and attentive - 3 course meal for 2 large portions and very nice food - bottle if wine 2 coffee and a free drink - cost for 2 people for all the above was something like £40/45 - such good value and no rush to get us out - they didnt even want a tip but left one anyway Will be back for more

Great traditional Greek restaurant. Cosy atmosphere , and lovely staff. Menu offers with a variety of Greek dishes and is very reasonably priced. Home style food , simple, but delicious. Will definitely return and recommend.

Nice selection of mezze dishes, and good red wine by the glass. Good service and decent prices. I also like the style of the restaurant, its got a traditional cosy feel to it.

We had reserved a table at the Italian next door with 3 weeks notice, but when we turned up, they had given our table away due to the customers claiming to be our party. After failing to correct the mistake, we wandered next door to the Greek Taverna. We were welcomed in and given a table upstairs. The staff were accommodating and friendly. There was no rush to get an order in and move on. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The menu offered lots of options, and the staff were happy to offer help when trying to decide which to order. The atmosphere was warm, the staff were lovely and the food was excellent. When we thought the night had been ruined by the restaurant next door, The Greek Taverna turned it around and gave us the perfect setting to celebrate the birthdays and achievements that we had set out to celebrate. Would recommend, and will visit again.

Ask for a mixed grill with chips , turned up with rice . Said they would come back with new plate of food , while I was eating my mixed plate with chips I found the rice that she didn't quite remove of the plate from 10 minutes before

Used to always go here with our friends and the Kleftico was amazing and very tasty Returned last night with 5 friends 3 of us had the Kleftico, which had no taste and looked insipid, as if it had been boiled and not roasted,without any herbs It was tasteless . Someone else had the lamb kebab, this was so tough, The roast potatoes wasn’t like Greek potatoes This is the worse Greek food I have had And won’t be returning

I have allergies and the staff were knowledgeable about the food and checked everything with the kitchen staff, very good food and plenty of it will definitely be returning soon

I booked a table for 30 of us in June to celebrate the night before our wedding with friends and family. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the booking (no one’s fault), meaning they were not expecting us to turn up on the night. However - we did, to their surprise, and I have to say they went over and above to make sure we were all seated, served and attended to all night. I have nothing but praise for the waitress who worked so hard all evening serving our party, and as usual the food and portions etc were fantastic. Very grateful for all the staff’s efforts, thank you!

Me and my partner and friends went to the Greek Taverna in Old Bexley on 12th July 2024 at 7.30pm for a meal. We all ate something different for starters and main course. None of us ate all the main meal. I didn’t like my meal and left almost half of it. Once we had eaten we went home. Went to bed and I started to feel ill with stomach cramps and started violently being sick along with diarrhoea at 12.15am, which continued for a couple of days. I then started to go hot/cold and shivering. I was so ill and felt dreadful. My legs and arms were very heavy and ached. I couldn’t eat at all. When I did force myself to eat I had no appetite for well over a week and still didn’t feel myself. I just kept falling asleep during the day and had no energy. I was drinking fluids only and not going a pee for ages and when I did my pee was dark yellow. This food poisoning has taken almost a week and half for me to recover and I still now on 23rd July not much appetite. This is unacceptable for a restaurant to make me ill like this. We have been to this restaurant numerous times over the years and I have noticed that this restaurant has seriously gone down hill, with the service, food and hospitality of the restaurant. I will never return to this restaurant again. Greek Taverna restaurant in Old Bexley needs to be investigated urgently as I don’t want anyone else to go through such a horrid time when all you are doing is going out for (meant to be a nice meal).

The waiter was wonderful and very polite, the food was excellent and the music made for a beautiful atmosphere. My family and I are repeat costumers and we have always found it to be a great time and a great dinner when we come here!

A delightful and flavorful Greek restaurant.

Having been twice before, booked a week prior to coming, only to drive quite a distance to be told there were no tables available when turning up for our booking. Manager was useless, just said "we don't have a table" no apology from any staff. Overcrowded, very loud, too many customers for size of kitchen, taking in people ahead of us who hadn't booked. Had to wait 20minutes just for someone to notice us. Go to the mediterranean across the road, much better than this, clearly management issue if manager is useless to resolve a mistake of theirs.

Booked a week in advance and travelled 17 miles for a birthday treat having had great meals before Arrived and was rammed but waiters/waitress ignored us. We informed them we had booked but generally nobody seemed interested. After milling around was told there were no tables eventually and left. Dont take bookings if you dont want to work that way!

My favourite go to restaurante on our lovely local bexley village, a real gem..such a pleasant rústic ambiance for fine evening meal. Tasty dishes and great options for vegeterians. Emily's service is top notch and the senior gentleman is great on floor with such a friendly and warm customer service. Highly recommend to my friends and family. Please keep up as always!!

Standard fare, nothing exceptional to be honest and in my opinion expensive but hey, that's what you expect from bexley Village restaurants FYI, the Maharhaja is even pricier and it's nothing special

Items missing from the Meze. Restaurant blamed the just eat driver and told us to contact just eat as not their problem. Still end up with not what we ordered

Great authentic restaurant serving freshly cooked food and with a great friendly service. Been going there for years, lovely food at a reasonable price. Saturday gets very busy.

The food is lovely and the wait staff are great but the toilets were disgusting. One was completely blocked and the other was flooded, we complained and still nothing was done! There are only two women’s toilets and you would expect better from a place that serves food.

*A VALENTINES CON* I have emailed twice and even called in to ask for a response on this matter and have been completely ignored. Feeling incredibly frustrated and just so conned by this whole experience. The attached photos are what made up our meal costing over £100! If you cost up these items on the standard menu they come to £50. It was Valentine’s Day and instead of putting on a special menu to justify higher prices - this restaurant DOUBLED their prices and massively reduced the menu offering. Not only that but they reduced the portion sizes - chicken kebab normally comes with salad and rice but not for Valentine’s Day! A downgraded option for Valentine’s Day. The first thing our waitress said to us was ‘you’re sitting in the wrong seats, I set the other side of the table’. Not even a hello. She came back to ask for our drinks order to which I asked for a couple more minutes and she sighed and walked off. The service continued to be this unbelievably abrupt. Really saddened that the restaurant will not engage with me on this matter.

Having a dairy allergy can make eating out quite difficult some times. However, the servers at this restaurant went over and above to provide an amazing evening. They not only substituted dishes but did so with smiles and suggestions. I can't wait to go back.

Staff are friendly. Food is great for the price also tastes good to. You got to try the meatball starter, the one with the sauce forgot it name.

Atmosphere was as good as I remember, great waiting staff and friendly as anything. However the kleftiko that always used to be very delicious was tasteless, burnt on one end and the rice and sauce was bland too. Disappointing as starters, baklava and coffees were great.

It was a really pleasant evening. We booked a table earlier in the day to be sure but there were some tables free though it was busy. We were seated upstairs quickly and made our order almost as quick. We had the meze for two which was more than enough for us. The food arrived promptly and was very good. Always had a taste for stuffed vine leaves. There was a lot of meat towards the end, which, while it was really good, next time I think we'll select specific meals and include more veg. We parked round the corner in a convenient car park which only took 1 min to walk from/to.

Honestly disappointed. The reviews are ok and the pictures look good. I tried to get 5 starters, none of the meat ones were available, falafel had the consistency of paxo. A lot of carbs and not a lot else. Disappointed. Went to a Greek place in central London and it was amazing compared to this place.

I visited last night (10/02/24)with friends. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the waiting staff were very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble . Our group ordered the Meze platter (highly recommended). Everything was perfect, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was cosy, only thing I found were the chairs are not very comfortable. The chocolate fudge cake was divine, I probably won’t order that in future after the meze 😉) Cannot wait for my next visit!

We always used this Greek restaurant as it was a great place to eat, but I must say I am very disappointed with the delivery quality. We always order the meze and we always used to get so much food that it would last us 2 days. Today I ordered the same as we hadn’t had Greek for a long time. The amount of food was so small that we just about fed ourselves and my 3 year old.
