An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee. Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.

There were a large variety of sandwiches for all of us,warm beef and ale pasties, scones, jam, cream a large variety cakes Christmas cake ,and chocolate mousse. As much tea or coffee as we wished!! Fresh fruit tarts. Everything was home made and fresh,it was excellently set out to meet our needs, they made you feel really welcome,we will definitely be back, Thank you.

We visited for afternoon tea today and all I can say is WOW! We have been to a few places in the past but this little place knocks the spots off anywhere we've been to before. We were very fortunate to spot this place on our way to Butlins and booked a visit to end our holiday. Lovely tea and coffee and a good choice of sandwiches... salmon and cream cheese, lovely ham and mustard to mention just two which were tasty and very well presented, and the home made pasties were delicious. As for the cakes ... home made little scones were so light and the selection of 6 cakes provided were lovely ... something for everyone from lemon meringues to little granola cakes to sumptuous chocolate mousse. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. Thorough recommended 😊

Unfortunately the only coffee available was filter coffee. After chosen lunch from the specials board was advised they had run out, shame it hadn’t been taken off the board. Then advised there was no baguettes left but they could do sandwiches but only had white bread. The table next to us was then told they had run out of bread, so guessed we had the last of the bread and it was only 1.30pm so not even at the end of the lunch service. We then ordered scones but unbelievably they only had two left and there was four of us. So we declined the offer of half of one each. The lunch we did have was enjoyable but I have never experienced a tea room that has ran out bread or scones before. They advised us they were busy the day previous, shame nobody went to the supermarket to stock up.

My husband took me for afternoon tea as we could not to away for our wedding anniversary. Did I enjoy it no it was dreadful, one sandwich which was not cut in the traditional finger, cakes were disappointing. Some sort of hot deep friend cheese, ham and broccoli covered in better - what was that about i wanted to be wowed by afternoon tea if you want a treat them to somewhere else. Good honest grub but certainly not quaint and quirky afternoon tea. Sorry

Came here yesterday for afternoon tea. Loved it, owner even catered for me as I have many allergies. Made me feel so comfortable knowing that people will do these extras. Definitely coming here again with the family, something local and good priced is what Friskney needed. I’m originally from Friskney then moved to Manchester and you don’t get great scones there. These at this cafe have been homemade and so soft!!

We hadn't booked but will next time we're visiting the coast. I had telephoned, from Gibraltar Point, to see if they were open and had asked if afternoon tea was possible. The owner explained that he liked to prepare teas in advance. No problem we thought we'd call in for a cup of tea and a cake or two. We were offered an impromptu afternoon tea with cakes and a variety of sandwiches. This was accompanied by plenty of tea! The café is on a busy road A52 to Boston. The heavy lorries did help to shake our meals down a bit! If you'd like an afternoon tea near Skeg you'll love it at Oaken. Just book a day in advance to be sure of the full works. We were very pleasantly surprised by the cost. One minus and a very small one he only takes cash in payment.

Love this place and it's wonderful cakes and lunches. Decided to give Sunday lunch a try. Knew it would be of a very high standard but wow! Haven't had this standard in some very expensive restaurants. The presentation of the food and highest quality produce makes it a very special meal indeed will certainly be doing this more often. At such reasonable prices it's not worth cooking for two on a Sunday and no washing up, fabulous win win. Thanks to James and his staff for a lovely experience all round.

My husband and I visited this small restaurant on Sunday 18th February. We were greeted by a delightful young lady, who made you feel very welcome all through the visit. Our experience was one that remains with you for a long time, we had Sunday lunch, there was a really good variety of food on the menu, they cater for vegetarians. The quality of the food was excellent, and the dessert was amazing!!.tea or coffee is included in the very reasonable price and you could have refills free!!! Thank you all for a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back.

It is some two years since I discovered Oaken tea rooms. Although very modest from the outside, the standard of service and quality of food belies the external view. In the last three weeks, the owner has launched Sunday lunch options around two or three course menues. The menus change by the week. Quality of food and value for money make this my favorite eating place. I would be happy to take friends or family at any time as well as recommending Oaken to total strangers. Why? Because I am confident that the customer will leave satisfied and happy to have made the effort to find this quiet, unassuming delight between Skegness and Old Leake. Brilliant!

Recently visited The Oaken Tea Rooms as a surprise treat for my sisters' birthday. What a little gem this place is. From the freshly made little sandwichs which were extremely tasty, to the homemade cakes and scones, especially the Florentines. Absolutely delicious. Finished off with endless tea and coffee. We will certainly go back and next time we visit my sister, it will have to be at the weekend so we can try the Sunday lunch, which looked very impressive from the selection on the current menu.

Re-visited Oaken on a recent trip and found the same lovely bright and clean surroundings. Staff - chef, proprietor, everyone remembered me and are very welcoming and cheerful. Lovely place for either a coffee/tea, meal or simple snack. Delicious, freshly cooked food and cakes and more than reasonable prices - as per my last visit. Love this place and go out of my way to go there. Thoroughly recommend this unusual little gem!

Popped in for lunch as had passed it so many times, thought we'd try it. WOW. So glad we did and we will be back. Beautiful tasty food with that hint of difference you would not expect from a "tea Room." The food was exceptional, the combination of the different flavours, which you would not think would go together worked so well, it felt like we were eating in a Michelin star restaurant. . The sweets are to die for, so leave room. Can highly recommend the Phily Steak and Cheese with pickle sandwich.

What a delightful experience we all had at these Tearooms. The food was interesting, fresh, varied and delicious. We all simply HAD to have some of the wonderful tasty cakes on offer - home-baked by the Proprietor. Absolutely lovely. Apart from well-cooked food, bright and fresh-looking surroundings, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We hardly needed our travel guides for the proprietor was an absolute mine of information about the area and places of interest. We would recommend this lovely Tearoom to anyone who is interested in comfortable, clean premises and friendly helpful local staff. Thank you.

We've been to this café before, when they first opened, and we thought we'd give them another go, this time with the woofs in tow. Because they were quiet, we were allowed to sit in the conservatory with the dogs, always nice, although there is outdoor seating in the garden you can use if they are busy. I had a gorgeous king prawn cocktail, loads of prawns, and lashings of tiger bread and butter, £3.95. My hubby had the croque monsieur and said it was the best he'd ever had, also very reasonable. There were many tempting looking items on the menu, so we'll definitely go back and try some more!

Had a very enjoyable lunch with my local WI. I think that it was the best one this year. The food is freshly prepared and well cooked. The roast potatoes were especially good and the blueberry pancakes to die for. I will definitely go back again, soon.

Dropped into Oaken Tearooms with my family on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We were greeted by a cheery smile from the owner and after choosing a table in the conservatory sat to look over the menu. There was a mouthwatering range on offer and after only a couple of minutes a friendly waitress took our order. Pulled beef and mozzarella sandwich with side salad and delicious dressing for two and tagliatelle, garlic bread and curly potato fries for my son. The food was freshly made to order and arrived in no time. After the meal I was pleasantly full, my son however had room for a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake. WOW!

Popped in for tea on the way home from Skegness. Most places were shut at this time of year but this little tearoom was open and very welcoming. Blueberry pancakes were lush and the ice cream, that is sourced just down the road, was lovely and creamy.

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

If you like your Sunday lunch pilled high, this the place for you. The plate was packed with a wonderful hot Turkey lunch. Great puds too.

Been coming to Louth for many years about once a month. Tina's was always the go to cafe, sadly of late standards have slipped badly, quality of food has really dropped off, now very bland, with little thought to presentation. Ladies toilets used by my wife were disgusting today, one WC blocked and lack of toilet paper in the other cubicle, sadly the whole experience was poor and we shall find somewhere else
