Nutmeg in Wolverhampton

Back at Nutmeg and wanted something hot. I ordered Shawarma with chicken. The lady asked if I wanted chilli, I said certainly do, she asked extra ? I said please. That's exactly what I got and some more. Fantastic on this cold wet day. Good job I had the foresight to have a cold drink with it. Can't fault the quality of the food and great service always with a smile. Many thanks Dave Finch

My favourite place in Wolverhampton! Staff are lovely, great variety of veggie and vegan options. food sometimes takes a bit longer because it’s all cooked fresh in front of you… but you don’t mind when you can taste the quality! Recommend to everyone wanting to try something a bit different!

Eating in this venue was a big disappointment. The bread was dry and there was barely any filling of meat in the swarma and gyros. It wasn’t busy and we had to wait along time for our food. Food presentation was also Very poor with inattentive custom.

Quality of this place has gone down over the years, my mother and I have been visiting since 2018 and came this evening and it was horrendous. The staff were inattentive, the food took far too long to arrive (it wasn’t particularly busy), food was cold on arrival. I don’t know what it is but the quality of the food has also declined recently, bread was cold and hard and did not taste as it usually does, there was a distinct lack of filling in the shawarma and gyros and it felt very cheap. We did not enjoy it at all.

Great little find. Excellent lunch. Had the Chicken burritos. We can highly recommend. All freshly made. Situated close to main shopping centre. Well worth a visit.

Wanted somewhere for a quick and tasty lunch and I was not disappointed! The staff in this small family restaurant were lovely and the menu offered a variety options. I went for the spinach flatbread, a little spicy (you can choose how spicy you like it) and it was delicious!! I thoroughly recommend it!

Mediterranean cafe servicing many tastes,palets and dietary requirements.. Freshly made excellent quality food with wonderful choiced on main menu and specials board. Lots of options for vegans main courses,sides and cakes but plenty to suit meat eaters as well. We picked off the specials board after a long debate as there was so much that took our fancy. Longtime since I've been in that position. Service and ambiance brilliant. Prices very reasonable for quality and potion size.. Will be back again. Can't recommend highly enough

Superb little find in the heart of Wolverhampton. Excellent value for money with fresh ingredients used for all of our order. Very authentic food and piping hot and highly recommended.

Visited for the first time this week. Food is fabulous and freshly cooked. So much choice too. Had a Lamb Shawarma wrap which was full of lovely flavour. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and love the decor. See you again soon.

I have eaten at Nutmeg many times and always look forward to going back. The food is absolutely packed with flavour and the menu is brilliant with lots of vegetarian/vegan options. It’s a lovely authentic family run business and the service is always amazing - would recommend without hesitation!

I had the most delicious soup I've ever had at the Nutmeg the other day. Lentils with saffron and spices and served with crispy flat bread. Divine.

I visited Nutmeg for the first time last Friday. The food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and I really like the decor too. The menu provides lots of choice at a very reasonable cost and is great for those who are vegetarian and vegan. I really enjoyed my meal. Highly recommended!

I had a falafel wrap from here for the first time In around a year and they have certainly kept up the standards! The food was delicious and the service was friendly as before. Great vegetarian and meat options with a sizeable seating area. Highly recommended!

Visited here for the first time last month. This place is nestled away in a small alleyway. When first entering the place it felt small and cosy. The decor is funky and and has a Moroccan vibe. The selection of food is excellent and fits...

Nutmeg has the best fresh handmade to order food in Wolverhampton! The chicken shawarma and lamb kofta wraps are top notch! Halloumi fries - delicious! Seasoned potatoes - yummy! It's just all so good, well worth visiting

The interior is gorgeous and refreshing for Wolverhampton. Food is always great and flavoursome. The chef is lovely and very innovate, always working on new great recipes. I feel very lucky to have an establishment like this in Wolverhampton.

I could not recommend Nutmeg enough! Not only do they have a large array of vegan meals and sweet treats, but the staff couldn’t be more approachable or friendly if they tried! We were warmly welcomed into the delightful café and were immediately blown away...

Another hidden gem!!!Stumbled upon this cafe in an alley in wolves whist trying to find a healthy lunch.Hot roasted veg and and veg fritters were absolutely delicious Huge portion Super healthy At a great price £5!!I just wish more places like this were available across the UK One of my favourite dishes in the UK for lunch!It’s a decent size cafe with seating for 20 people.Nice spacious and chilled not overly cramped either!

We went here for something to eat as I had noticed it when walking by and wanted to try it,its only small with limited table but we got a seat when we arrived. There were plenty of things I would have ordered on the menu and went for my favourite falafel, while husband had the spicy lamb wrap. Along with a little pot of tea and bottle of rose lemonade it came to £12:50.The waitress was very friendly and helpful and you could see into the kitchen if you wanted to watch the preparation. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come because it is freshly prepared and it was worth every minutes wait! I have been to a few placed in London to eat and this would certainly give them a run for their money, the wraps were tasty fresh and full of good things. The wrap itself was toasted, warm and lovely. This is most definitely a place to try for something to eat and I will return with friends.

I was at a low ebb when I found this place and it immediately lifted my spirits. Friendly staff and great music and decor make for a pleasant ambience for what is a simple and straightforward cafe. Walked past here so many times but today was the first time I went it, can’t believe how much I was missing out!Delicious and flavourful food that tasted really fresh. Service was impeccable and was such good value for money.I had the lamb kofta flatbread and the other half had a pasta bolognese. Just the right size for a lunch and they were less than £4 each! With two meals, a side of garlic mushrooms and two soft drinks was only about £14 so really good value.It looks like they do a wide selection of vegan items too but something for everyone here. Will certainly be returning!

Having recently gone vegan we are always on the hunt for yummy new places to try and this place certainly didn’t disappoint. We left absolutely full to the brim of delicious food and I think we tried half the menu!! I had the vegan mince wrap which was amaaaazing. We also had some stuffed vine leaves which were equally delicious. The vegan chocolate torte was something else. Seriously worth a visit.

The food came out fast and it tasted great. It wasn't even expensive and it makes me want to try everything on the menu. I had lamb kofta wrap and I would recommend it thoroughly. Great place for lunch when shopping.

I discoverd Nutmeg thru my vegan friend and since then all my university and work friends have tried it too. And lemme tell you we all do regular visits to this amazing cafe! Since I work in town I pop in weekly for my lunch. It is suitable for all types of diet requirements, vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters! I love this place and its exotic, healthy, tasty cuisine!

This is a lovely place with great staff, sadly my husband and I had an Egyptian wrap which barely had any filling, we couldn’t believe the lack of falafel filling that was actually in there...! Seen as the vegan menu is not that extensive, the price paid for these wraps was certainly not good value for money. It is not for me so we won’t be returning!

This is a well kept secret gem in the centre of town, it’s only small but you can always be assured of a warm welcome, and some amazingly different food freshly cooked, be adventurous, you won’t be disappointed, and it’s a really good price too.

Been coming here for around a year, at least once a week on my lunch break. Everytime i go in there is something new to try. The service is 10/10 and the food is always 10/10. Everything tastes fresh and effort is put in to every dish. If there was one place in wolves i had to recommend it would be here.

This place is just what Wolverhampton needed! The food here is excellent quality and great value for money. The Mediterranean menu is diverse and great for meat eaters/vegetarians, adults and children.

After numerous attempts to find “the right time” I eventually managed to eat at this place. After meeting up with our friends (dog in tow) we looked for somewhere to have lunch in wolvo. This place was perfect, just outside the manders centre and tables outside we decided to give it a go. Extensive menu with lots for meat eaters and vegetarians alike we dived in, really difficult to choose with so many lovely sounding options and lots of little tempting bites on show.This place has a really friendly home cooked feel and the food was delicious. We had some kofta and some chicken and lamb shawarma with the most chunky chips you could every ask for. The potato skins and the spinach and couscous “bites” were absolutely gorgeous and left all of us delighted with a more than expected lunch. We will be back to try the rest of the menu and I’m really happy that such a place like this exists in Wolverhampton. In a city full of too many fried chicken, fast food and standard unhealthy takeaways this place is something different.I don’t give many 5 stars but I have noting bad to say about this place and would happily recommend it to anyone.Nice fresh cooked food, great ingredients and choice.....top marks

My friend and I visited here because we like trying different cafes! The food was nice, I had a vegan option, however my latte tasted like it had gone off.. so I couldn't drink it.. the cakes in the shelf looked like they were slightly melting (I've actually place a picture of my cake) ive worked in a busy home run cafe before and none of the cakes were left that way, however I thought that these were just displays because they were kept in a fridge with other meats and dishes. The customer service was incredible, the lady behind the counter was lovely. I think this cafe would benifit from having a slightly better fridge for the food.. Also as well as this my vegan cheese flatbread... did not have any vegan cheese in. I think if the cafe takes on board some recommendation they could really improve. Unfortunately because of the latte and the state of the food I had to give a low score.

Very clean and quirky cafe, with a slightly Moroccan decor. Food is freshly cooked and delicious with lots of flavour. The fish club sandwich is really good value. Well worth a visit. Opens 10.30 to 16.30 Monday to Saturday.

Nutmeg was a delightful find, in a passage linking the Mander Centre (by Debenhams) and Victoria Street.The cafe was clean and cosy with super friendly staff. The reason we visited was because of its additional vegetarian and vegan menu. A nice change to the standard offerings and a great addition to Wolverhampton. It deserves to do well.Nutmeg was recommended to us, and we are happy to do the same! We will return.

We only had brunch but wished that we hadn't got a late lunch appointment that had been arranged the day before. Great perfumes of spice and herbs waft over you on entry to the café. The chocolate tartlet was the best I've ever tasted and the others cakes were good too.Very friendly staff!Great for veggies and vegans.

There are few decent independent eateries in Wolves, this is a great place to go to. Food is fresh and so delicious, staff very friendly too. The decor really adds to the whole experience. Great to go for a coffee or food.

I love Nutmeg! It serves delicious, authentic freshly cooked wraps, meatballs, salads and more. Recently expanded so you can sit in or take-away. FAR better than any ‘chain’ lunch stop
