Tres makes the best coffee in Battle...East Sussex...and probably the whole of the UK. Always a lovely welcome. Coffee always spot on.

I've visited Number Eighty as a regular since the ease of the pandemic, with classes and work stacking up again, it was the closest coffee shop to my commute. And wow, am I lucky it is! This isn't your typical coffee shop; in fact, it's almost simpler than the usual you'd find on a high street. But that is entirely a positive. At the time of writing, the menu is a wonderful ensemble of coffee, spanning from pure black to lattes and even mochas. There's even some sneaky chai lattes (my personal favourite). There's options for different milks, and the shop is very considerate and open to all diets or requirements, with additional options like syrups too (try the vanilla!). There's often some lovely pastries on the counter too. This is very much suited for takeaway, however there's some lovely seating within with great views of the abbey outside the window. I've tried more coffee shops in the Battle/Hastings area than I can count, but Number Eighty is by far the best. It's welcoming to all, even dogs, and always has a lovely atmosphere thanks to the owner and the other baristas. If you're in Battle, pop by!

Great coffee, probably the best I’ve ever tasted. Handmade to perfection, no steps missed or corners cut. Owner is so welcoming and remembered my youngest Jake from 2 years prior. Would recommend this coffee shop over any others in town. So pleased they are still there despite CoVid. Would love to have some local cakes or bakery items next.

I pop in here for coffee a few times a week after dropping my son to nursery, The coffee is always perfect (not easy to do with oat milk ) and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. They have delicious homemade biscuits perfect for a treat with my takeaway hot drink.

I come here every week with my friends, we love the coffee here, it is the best coffee in Battle. I am vegan and there are lots of different alternative milks, which are hard to find elsewhere. I’m so glad this has opened, I never expected to have such a quality coffee house in such a rural area. Thank you Tres! Also, it feels a very clean and safe place to go into and be served in, with all the safety measures against covid in place.

Easy to find, just across the road from the entrance to Battle Abbey, so after our visit to the Abbey we visited here for a coffee. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, and the illy coffee was really very good indeed.

Visited for a drink with a friend and my teenage daughter. I thought it was best mocha I have had. Coffee and friendly service also great. No food as such but good selection of snacks to go with your lovely drink.

My husband and I stopped in here in late July, after visiting the Battle of Hastings site. We were absolutely delighted to be served the best coffee of our entire holiday. A proper flat white! We had a great chat with the owner/coffee maestro over her quest to make the best coffee and her battle with the milk (corny pun intended). Such a lovely experience which sent us on our way re-caffeinated and with good cheer in our hearts. Long may she continue to Be At One with the milk! Highly recommend this coffee shop if you want wonderful coffee and a good chat.

Not from the area but visited for a late morning coffee and was the best coffee shop that I have visited in a while. Daughter needed to quickly use the WiFi for her college work and was allowed to stay there while she finished off without the need to buy another drink. Great customer service and had a great chit chat. Illy coffee served to order and a great experience overall, can’t wait to come back and see how they’ve expanded - keep it up!

The very best coffee (I gather the only illy outlet in town!), expert, friendly and very considerate owner/barrista. Great atmosphere, perfect for a quiet moment or a chat with friends and/or other customers. Minimal decor works so well - the focus is rightly on the highest quality of the drinks.

Popped in for a morning coffee. Great if you are after a drink. It is quite a small coffee shop with seating for around 10 people but is well presented and the staff very friendly.

Just Fabulous Visited today with my two boys. We all had Toasted Bacon Sandwiches. The staff so accommodating, crispy bacon, bacon with fat off - nothing was too much for them. Oh and the milkshakes are THE BEST we have had, we had strawberry and chocolate- would highly recommend them and Hughie's for a delicious lunch with a fab view as well!! Thank you

I’ve been coming here for food for a while and it’s always deliciously prepared and served by very friendly and welcoming staff. It’s a lovely cafe situated in a quiet side road in the centre of Ticehurst village, well worth seeking out, keep your eyes peeled for the sign for The Courtyard Cafe. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the lunches are amazing, I had the homemade quiche with chips and salad which was all homemade by the lovely staff and it was so delicious. Daily specials are also available including teas, coffees and cake. Good size portions, with seating outside for sunny days and very clean inside with plenty of seating. Ample parking available at the village car park just round the corner from the cafe, it’s a really friendly place to relax and so worth a visit. Will be going back again very soon.

My fella and I usually visit Maidstone a couple of times in the summer, and before we headed off this time I looked up places to eat on Tripadvisor. This place looked a good bet, so we sought it out to try for ourselves and we are very glad we did. What a brilliant place! Not only was the food every bit as good as the reviews promised it would be, but the biggest surprise was the interior - WOW! After walking throught the genteel arcade, the last thing I was expecting was this riot of individualism and colour. As it was only us eating (we were early for lunch...) I took the opportunity to have a good look around and take some photos to share. The lady behind the bar was really friendly, and we were very impressed with the prompt service and the quality / quantity of the food. We will definitely be coming again and would fully recommend this to anyone who enjoys a decent burger at a fair price! :)
