Very good value for money. Had a room service problem. Had to wait 1 hour, but after a reminder we still received our food, free! Reception must do a better job of keeping promises. We promised to send someone from technical service, we are still waiting :-)

I travel down to Liverpool with the family a couple of times a year. This is my go to hotel. Great location for shops, restaurants & transport. Has a pool for the kids and a good selection at breakfast. Always reasonably priced. Wouldn’t really stay anywhere else. Staff friendly & helpful too.

Small rooms, as is often the case in the city centre, but the location is perfect, very central in the city and close to everything.

We had executive rooms booked for us by our work for a conference we were attending in the city. I stayed in room 408 which is a corner room with a seperate toilet to a very nice shower and bathroom. The rooms did not seem very special, and most of the "executive" features didn't work initially - the espresso machine was faulty (which was fixed by maintenance resetting the power to the room) and I couldn't connect my phone to the TV chromecast until the second night after maintenance had been in to set it up (I found it had been unplugged when on my first night). The drainage between rooms seems to be connected so I heard gurgling every now and then from my bathroom when I was not using it, which would disturb me in the night. I did not realise until too late on our last morning that the hairdryer built into the desk was not working - at checkout the staff told me there is a safety feature where you have to press the button for 15 seconds to get it to work - no signage explaining that in the room, so I had to leave with wet hair (not ideal in winter). The 2 clocks in the pool area did not work, I did report this on the first day, but they were not sorted during our 2 day stay. The pool is very small and other guests ignored the rules about showering first and not jumping into the pool. We asked in the AM on our 2nd day to book a 30 minute slot for the evening, but were told by the lady reception not to bother. We were then told off by another lady at reception when we came back later the same day to swim as it was busy! Either use the booking system or don't. This time the pool had a father and son in it, and the son jumped into the pool a few times which was disruptive. Good features though: breakfast was great and plentiful, and the guy who hosted it at 7am each day was nice. The coffee machines seemed to go out of service frequently though. I do not feel the stay was worth what we paid (£420 for 2 x exec rooms for 2 nights with breakfast) but it was adequate. Large Tesco very close by and we enjoyed using the Voi scooters to get around. Staff were mostly excellent and let us store our luggage there on the last day. There are places in the lobby you can charge your phone before or after checkout. The windows worked well so did not hear much noise from outside or between rooms (except for the drainage issues mentioned). The bath was excellent, deep and plenty of hot water - would be nice to have bubble bath available in rooms with a bath, but easy to pop to the Tesco for a bottle instead. Nice nespresso pods, canned water in mini fridge and valuable safe in room. The provided slippers and robe were a nice touch but the slippers were lethal in the pool area - no grip and quite dangerous frankly. Had to take these off while on any damp surface.

In the center. The magnificent room. And those at reception were very friendly.

The elevators don't work properly. The employees are overwhelmed by the many guests (not enough staff). All information must be painstakingly obtained from employees. There are no suitable slippers in the room to get to the pool (guests walk barefoot through the lobby to the pool) I'm not used to the bad service in a Novotel, but at least the room was tidy and clean. Luckily there are enough alternatives in the area which I will use in the future.

The hotel is fantastic & very clean but the heating is just too much. We visited in December & we had to put the air conditioning on as the heat was unbearable. We were on the 9th floor so don't know if that had anything to do with it....heat rises, etc. Other than that the location is perfect & we enjoyed our stay & the heat side of it is the only reason we've knocked a star off 🙂

Very nice basic hotel, lovely staff throughout 💙 Room was large and comfortable, good view, small fridge, decent bathroom with separate toilet which is great. Good pool and gym (swap one of the treadmills for an elliptical please) fantastic hot sauna, everything clean and in good condition. Easy check in and out 👍 recommended.

Very well located hotel, well connected, with super friendly staff. The rooms spotless. We miss having a TV channel in Spanish...at least the news, which is unimportant because we are going to rest. Very good breakfast although not very varied. Even so, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Recommended for families.

Disappointed with hotel, shower/bath was leaking everywhere, had to ask for room to be cleaned heating wasn’t working. £3.50 for a can off coke is daylight robbery, breakfast is very minimal selection and cold. Pool is tiny and only allowed 30 mins access. At £450 for 2 nights it was a big let down I’ve paid less in the Crowne Plaza just down the road an it beats this hotel hands down

We had a lovely meal via Groupon. Our waitress was pleasant, and knowledgeable regarding our voucher. We would have given 5 stars but she was very busy with a lot of tables. To take some pressure off her my husband went to the bar to get us more drinks. ( we did not ask her for these drinks, he went of his own accord) I would suggest that she has someone with her to take some of the pressure off her. We will be back, as great value for money

The hotel definitely has the potential of becoming a 5 star location however my stay was not excellent as there were a few service, amenity and facility issues: some improvements and additions could be made.

City centre hotel with great refinements. Some basic rooms and some nicer ones. There are other that are better value but this was used for a team building / training ground day and the service around that was not good.

A really well positioned hotel, right next to Liverpool One. The staff in reception are very helpful as well as the bar and restaurant staff. A clean hotel that also sports a great swimimming pool and Rope Walks features.

We have stayed several times at Novotel Hanover St. and this time we were quite dissapointed, sad to say because we like this hotel. The good... Great location, staff are friendly, swimming pool and leisure is nice, price is decent, rooms are fine for the most part. I love the shower, it's great. The bad... Breakfast was poor this time. My son is a pancake fiend and he couldn't eat them, I am a sausage fiend and I couldn't eat them. Generally a bit chaotic at peak breakfast time and the queue was not managed well, a few cheeky younger guys paying no regard to the queue and just skipping past helping themselves, was infuriating. But the most disappointing this was the cleanliness of the tables. They felt grimey and sticky and generally just not well cleaned. Which is a shame, because I felt this was the thing that let it down most, everything else you can excuse really. We played pool the first night Friday, my son loves it and is a big part of his enjoyment there. But we went back to the hotel bar earlier on Saturday just so he could play again, to see it covered over and that it was "broken". Maybe so, but TBH I think the bar staff were just saying that so they wouldn't have to set it up. Bedrooms are fine for the most part, but there was some kind of weird smell in ours. My wife saying it smelled like dirty hair. Not sure we'll chose Novotel next time we visit TBH

We spent 5 days in the hotel. The hotel is well located, within a maximum 15-minute walk to all the worthwhile places to see in Liverpool. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious compared to rooms at the same price in other hotels I've been to. Pool and gym available. Standard breakfast with something good for everyone. The staff was very nice and helpful. We are satisfied with our stay. P.S. We purchased parking with a discount, just 1 minute walk from the hotel. Thank you 😊

Had a really good stay here, were very clean and spacious rooms. Atmosphere and location was really good. Had some issues with the key and opening one of the room doors and was a reoccurring issue and the receptionist kept informing us that it was because it was past 12am which made no sense because the other room door was fine.

**Your response is patronising and untrue. You also FAILED to mention that you have FAILED to respond to my official complaint. You offered us a late check out in a room that was full of unbearable noise, had workmen peering through our window then turned your back on me and walked out when I was in tears and said I couldn't stand a second longer and neither could my daughter who was terrified. You didn't mention the pool, we would have declined anyway as we both have disabilities etc. Not only do you staff lie, you lie. So I will now be seeking legal advice. WE HAD MEN LOOKING THROUGH OUR WINDOW!! YOU FAILED IN YOUR DUTY OF CARE TO PROTECT MY CHILD FROM THAT. I have photo and Video evidence, If you want workmen peering through your window of your family room with your young child in then this is the place to go! Apparently it's not an issue to this hotel after 10am it's acceptable. If you want to leave early in tears, again this place is a must. If you want your complaint ignored, hey, you're on a roll

The cleaners need to be checked that they are cleaning the rooms properly. My room was full of dust and drink spilt all the curtains and marks all over the walls clearly the management and not checking up on the staff are doing their job correctly.

Had a great stay with my two young sons. Loved the pool. The room had everything we needed including a small fridge to keep our lunches/drinks cool. Loved the carpet in the room . Pillows and curtains could use updating. Great breakfast! Shower/tub good pressure/size but mould in corners. Lots of towels and sofa bed prepped for sleeping. Loved the touch of having umbrellas to borrow. Very friendly staff especially the breakfast staff. Remember to book the pool ahead of time. A good stay! Thank you!

The facilities in the hotel were just what we needed and centrally located. Food was good, guy at check in very friendly however we found the bar and restaurant staff rude & unhelpful. Almost every guest we spoke with had the same experience. There was one guy behind the bar that had no clue what he was doing. I actually felt sorry for him at the beginning as felt like he had never served anyone before and gotten no training. Some of the staff hired should not be working in hospitality and really let down the hotel.

Excellent location, lovely staff on reception. Room was spacious even for a family of 4, the second bed was MUCH comfier than the last time we stayed. My sleep was disturbed but only because the room was far too warm and the air conditioning wasn't working very well.

Great hotel in the centre of Liverpool. 9 minutes from Lime Street Station and shop, bars and places to visit within easy walking distance. Great breakfast, plenty of choice and well cooked. Lovely hotel atmosphere too for chilling. Pool was great, book your slot and it's easy. Not huge and children were in there so it was a bit busy. Still really nice tho for an evening swim. Certainly stay here again.

We will definitely be returning, 9/10 as the only thing we were unable to do with a family of 5 was book an adjoined room which would have been super handy with 3 children aged 5 and under, even though requested in the notes when we arrived it was not available on arrival. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, facilities were great and rooms were clean.
