Northern Soul Grilled Cheese in Manchester

Came for my Nephews birthday lunch, really accommodating to my 1 year old and the whole family. Great food and the Best Oreo shake I’ve ever had!

Visited at the new location (new since I last came to Manchester!) Still fabulous - Mac Attack is sooo good - add house fries and a strawberry milkshake and you have something amazing but probably best sampled only occasionally! It’s a good thing we don’t live here any more. Visit this place - it’s very good!

Didn't know I needed a pasta toastie in my life until today! Huge portions and lovely staff, not the place to go if you're on a diet! 😂

Just tried to order here was told no paper menus available had to order through the app. In fact was informed it is 2021!!!! In our 60’s not comfortable with the technology. Tried our best to order but failed. No offer of help from the staff member. Hope he doesn’t need help with technology in 2061. Obviously won’t be returning and we’ll let all our “elderly “ friends know.

Visited for the first time for a takeout order. The food is incredible! Best place ever for cheese lovers! Really good portion sizes and reasonably priced too. The staff were really chatty and friendly.

Visited this place for the first time with 6 other family members. Waitress ‘COV’ asked for our drinks order. I asked for a bottle of Prosecco with a glass of orange juice of which she replied “are you sure?” I said yes of course why do you ask? She responded “because your bill is already at £140 I don’t want you getting a shock when it comes” I was absolutely mortified. Is this an insinuation I couldn't afford it? Is this a judgment based on the way I myself or my family look? Regardless .. £140 split between 7 people is only £20 a head. I have never felt so humiliated or belittled in all of my life. Her attitude towards customers and her job itself needs to be tended to ASAP. Food itself was delicious the music made my grandmother very happy however the service was tense and uncomfortable and I believe the staff are the face of the company and for that reason I will not be visiting again nor recommending to others. Such a shame.

Just popped in to get some brunch and had no expectations having never been there before but was very surprised. Food was amazing, atmosphere was 10/10, very friendly and chill, server was happy and attentive and it was well worth the price.

Northern Soul is probably where you can get the best grilled cheese in Manchester! With lots of choices to make, I would recommend the Mac n’ Cheese and the Soul Sandwich. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The recipe has been unchanged from the original shack they had; it is still open, but due to COVID-19, it is only open for takeaway, I would highly recommend to come to this restaurant if you are looking for places that have wonderful sandwiches and... cheese.

Our lovely waitress Kov recommend the French dip grilled cheese, and we were not disappointed, amazing friendly waitress Please please please keep the French dip!

We were served by Joel, who had a nice beanie and supplied us with an endless amount of siracha, everytime we looked up he just knew. Thank you Joel, may the grill cheese gods bless you.

My favourite place to snack in, if you like Northern soul you will love it, great food great service, staff very friendly

Thought we would try the restaurant for the first time after eating at the other two branches for the past few years. A very good experience. More of a chilled laid back vibe rather than the manic hussle of the old takeaway. Food hit the spot and the music quietly pumping out some classic northern beats formed the setting for a perfect lunch. Shame no dance floor to work off those large portions.... We'll be back...

The original deli on Church Street popped up on my phone when I was searching for somewhere for lunch. We went there and it was too busy to sit so the lady there sent us to this new restaurant. It is cheese heaven!! I had a goats cheese sandwich, hubby had mac and cheese and we shared some piggy fries, all were delicious and it was quick to get served. It was so filling that it filled us up all day. Can't wait to return if we are ever in Manchester again.

When my friend suggested we go for a cheese toastie I was somewhat underwhelmed by the idea. He insisted & I’m glad he did. The grill cheese sandwiches are awesome. Good size, lots of side options depending on how hungry you are. Will definitely go back. Great lunch option if you are in town.

If you love the idea of an amazing grilled cheese sandwich with fries then you have to try this place, the food is awesome.

This is the second time we called at the new venue, we had to wait 30 mins so they took our name and we went for a stroll round a while. On getting back to the restaurant we were shown to a table almost immediately....
