Lovely food great service I would recommend that places to anyone in Manchester and out I came from Wigan and it was worth it I will be coming back here again take your for my food it was lovely and fresh and I loved the mango sauce

I went on Monday to get 2 jerk chicken pieces with fries and banana cake. Unfortunately on my way home I noticed that they forgot to add the cake.

Disappointed. After years of loving this place. I was over charged! Had to rectify. The quality of the food has gone down, paid for veg dinner - just got a portion of rice, 1 slice carrot and and one slice cabbage. Shocked to say the least

Been craving curried goat for years.. my friends dad used to make it and I been wanting to have again for I stumbled on this place and thought I need I'm gonna have to Try it out So glad I did the curried goat was delicious reminded me of my friends dad's I was thinking nothing will be as good but it had the taste I remembered. Tried some jerk wings aswell which were very tasty.

Found this place when searching for jerk chicken. Upon entering and quickly scanning the menu I could see jerk chicken on display, but no jerk chicken on the menu... So I aimed when it said 1,2 or 3 piece chicken I thought you could choose either fried or jerk Let's just say i ended up with fried chicken and when I asked after I placed my order if I could have jerk she wasn't happy and said no I ended up with something I didn't really want for lunch hence my rating

Been going Chicken Run for years but i am finding the service is getting really poor , got tiny portions of chicken and on some occasions I have got home to find not all my food ordered has not been given . Very sad for a long standing Black owned business.

I've recently visited chicken run and ordered fish on Wednesday and trust it was dry and burnt up....Not the chicken run I know...wasted my time and money travelling.

Amazing 👏 soup, split, carrot and banana cake with custard. Manchesters best. Amazing dumpling like a deep fried baguette.

Great tasty food. Service nice and polite at times more staff is need to speed things up. But a must if you love jamaican cuisine.

Not as good as it used to be. Ordered two chicken split ting meals for £12.50 after being told it was a better deal than ordering two chicken split meals on their own. However they missed off the chips for this meal, as well as the four hot wings. We didn’t notice until we were back home. We were left with just 2 splits, 2 pieces of chicken fried breast, plantain, 2 pieces of pineapple cake and small chips for £24. The chicken split isn’t as big or as plenty full as it used to be. The fried chicken is dry. The plantain was dry and hard. Great selection of drinks and the cake is amazing even if a little expensive comparatively. The curry goat was also on point. Disappointed overall

This here is a shambles of a Caribbean food , constantly overpricing people “mistake” yeah right ,,, chicken split they use all the fatty chewy pieces of the chicken that is basically not edible , if you fancy a good Caribbean you gonna struggle they are all rubbish in area to be honest

I just got home and the Curried Goat and rice and veg were totally STONE COLD not even slightly warm and the staff member who served me had a serious attitude problem. I have been going to this place since I was a young child. Embarrassing, sort it out!

I ordred from chicken run today and I know jamaican food is the best. I ordered vegetables for my son and I got cabbage on big big dumpling, frozen peas and carrots. We just wanted some nice vegetables, the plantain too oily. so disapointed

I got small curry goat 5.50 a thigh of Jerk chicken onits own 1.90 a dumpling 1.20 and and coleslaw 1. So explain why I gt charged 12.50. 3rd time I've been and 3rd time I've been charged for stuff I don't even get. I waited for a dumpling for 15 mins for the girls mate to walk in order and it be given away and I wait another 10 like what the he'll this is why I don't bother

One of the best Caribbean food places and longest established, ive been eating chicken runs food for over 30 years. Since it first started out in a residential house back in the 1990s.

I got a few things from here the chickens splits are beautiful allways the piping hot i also got curry goat nice large portion it was stone cold tho and very dry barely any gravy and the flavours wernt there like they served us food cooker days before

This takeaway is up and down they either make the food really nice or really bland. It's literally luck of the draw, no consistency. They don't seem to give enough sauce/gravy for the portion of food either which is really disappointing because you can end up getting dry food due to lack of sauce/gravy. I have been several times now I would rate it 6/10 could be better if they had a bit of customer service skills as well as putting enough sauce on your food and consistency with chefs.

Well, these must be the biggest longest Dumplings I have had the pleasure to taste. Albeit the most expensive at £1.20.

Chicken Run is my new favourite place. I bought fried chicken and and 4 chicken spilts. The food is 10/10, the staff are great, but those chicken spilts are power 💯

Chicken Run...? Drove some miles to get there and they had no chicken!

Having seen the food review club give it a 9/10 I was keen to try. Its a popular place and there was a small queue when I arrived. I had the chicken split and it was pretty average. Not for me.

Order curry goat with rice and peas, a dumpling. Also a chicken split meal. Curry goat cook well and fell off the bone.was nice but lacked a kick in terms of flavour. Also not enough sauce for the amount of rice provided. Chicken split had very little flavour to the chicken in the dumpling, small portion of fries thrown in and a hot wing.

If you're in the know, then you already know about this place. But if you're not, then it's high time you found out.

I have been going to Chicken run for at least a year plus i drive from Preston 30 miles away on 5 occasions now the food has been awful dry chicken,stale rice hardly any vegetables just shredded cabbage,it seems as though if the server knows your from out of town they give you yesterday's food,my daughter had fried chicken and chips chicken cold,chips overdone i have spent over £170 over the course of my visit with my daughter helping my own people try and do well. Today is my last visit.

I know they say Jamaican takeaways staffs are hardly friendly but the young lady that served me needs some customer service skills and will do no wrong. A group of customer payments didn’t go through, when they realised the customers were already in their car, I offered to go and get them to return, which they did, came back, not even a Thank you. Got served, had no smile, no politeness, and asked where was the cutlery, couldn’t even look at me and replied, just pointed. Anyway.. if the food was beyond anything else I had tasted before, I would come back… but average food and bad customer service… surely won’t.

Took my bestie for a later lunch. Curry goat and rice and peas yummy. Even got a cheeky beef pattie they are on point. 🍽🍽🍽🍽

Until recently I would have marked this well respected establishment 5* and have normally only ever had good value from there but the last time I went in, I asked for a medium sized curry goat and was given the equivalent of a small sized meal and when I called to raise the issue, the girl I spoke to said she’d ask the manager/owner to call me back and nobody called. I felt ripped-off and I’m reluctant to return.

Chicken split wasn't all that at all as that's what I came for luckily for me I also got the the fried chicken that made up for it Heyman bought me there but he clearly ain't got a clue about food the way he bigged up the ting naaa brudda

Wasn’t the friendly of service but same time staff look so tired and hard worked so I guess if they were treated better maybe they would be happier… There was hardly any meat in the chicken and red inside chips were well over done when you bite them it’s like air first… I was happy about the gravy which helped the food a little I was to hungry not to just eat it and then I am so upset that they charge extra for using a card never been in a food takeaway that charges for card the community love has gone from this place and the amount of years and money gone into that place it’s not good and should change the name because the chicken don’t run anywhere as they no longer deliver… The place seem to have gone downhill overtime but since the original owner left it’s not been the same doubt I be going back and will just remember the good ole days

As ever, busy, busy shop. I have eaten from there over the years. I like the comfort of knowing I can still get pineapple cake. I love the diversity of people buying from the shop.

Came here for the famous chicken splits, not sure what to make of it really. Service was pretty slow, it wasn't bad, but every question we asked had to be followed up by someone else, and the split itself was sooooo unbelievably greasy, I mean I eat anything, and so does my mate, but neither of us could finish it. Shame, if been looking forwards to it for ages

There is not a single person in mossids that does not know about this local hidden gem. Best known for their chicken splits which we highly recommend. Customer service is in a chilled out manner and the atmosphere is a jovial relaxed one. If your in the area, you need to experience it!

This place has gone down hill, this is second time I got dry food no jerk sauce, two type different chicken when I asked jerk chicken

Food is usually good but as a very regular customer I did not appreciate being given a cold meal and no option of heating it up after waiting in the freezing cold for half an hour to get it. I only realised when I had driven home, and I had driven some distance too. very poor. Sad to say I wont go back being treated like this.

If you never visited this place in Manchester then I am sorry you have missed the beautiful taste of Caribbean in Manchester. Not the best I've had. One word of advice, if you order fried dumplings, check before you leave, found out later that it is common for them to charge for them, but not put them in the bag.

They could do with wearing hair nets .While the ladies wore the nets the men did not yet they handled food .The seating area should be kept clean otherwise the food wasn't bad.

I don't usually give bad reviews but this the 3rd time in the the last year. This place has gone downhill. The chicken is so dry... And the staff over charge you, they add to your order that you didn't receive. Make sure that you check your order before you leave the shop.
