We came across this cafe en route to the National Armouries Museum. Very busy on a Saturday with people having brunch. Friendly service, excellent coffee and the most delicious cakes. Highly recommend the cinnamon roll and salted caramel brownie. If you like good coffee this place is a must.

I visit North Star quite often, but it’s gotten to the point where I’m not sure I can visit anymore. Whilst I can appreciate its slightly higher prices to reflect the area and sustainable coffee practices I visited the other day and asked for a simple bacon sandwich, JUST bacon and the bread. £9.5 I was charged! Honestly outrageous, they need to sort their prices out.

Excellent food and coffee. Best breakfast/brunch we’ve had in a long time - good ethical business too that has long term relationships with the small producers who grow their coffee.

Attending the Leeds dock coffee shop we were greeted with the statement ' we don't serve full English ' when asking if they served breakfast. We didn't ask if they served full English incidentally and we assumed wrongly the food must be special. Ironically looking at the menu you could actually assemble a basic Full English if required but separate items do add up to quite an expensive option. We ordered a sausage and a bacon sandwich with added egg. Very disappointed with both. Dry uninspiring small bap topped off with a tepid cup of earl grey tea! I complained about the tepid tea and was confronted with an explanation that tepid was right for brew tea!!! Unacceptable customer service. Eventually a pot of boiling water turned up without the tea. Had to complain again. Terrible stressful customer experience.

After a walk along canal with our dog we hit google to find somewhere dog friendly for brunch . Never heard of North Star before but reviews were good so we popped in . Sunday morning and it was heaving , luckily they managed to squeeze us in . Staff were really friendly especially with our pup . The place offered takeaways too which was rammed with people waiting . No wonder though as the coffee is amazing ! Best I’ve had in a very long time . We had scrambled eggs and bacon on toast and a bakers breakfast which was amazing . The quality of all the food was really high and super tasty . Highly recommend!

Not very good, but extremely expensive. My wife had a small latte which was pretty much all froth, I had a pot of tea, which was drunk in about 30 seconds as the water was only lukewarm. We ordered 2x Bacon Rolls, 3 very small extremely overcooked slices in a huge roll. £21 was the cost, I nearly fell off of the floor, if I’m ever in Leeds again & around that area I’ll certainly NOT be calling there again!!!

We stopped here for a quick breakfast on the way to visiting the Royal Armouries. We had sourdough toast with peanut butter and a sausage brioche bap. Both were very tasty. A great modern coffee shop with a bakery attached and own brand roasted beans. A nice walk from Leeds city centre - near The Armouries in Leeds Dock. Fabulous flat white and fudge caramel brownie (you might need to share one!) - will definitely come back here, pasties also looked delicious.

Visited North Star a few months ago so decided to visit again while in Leeds. Had bacon sandwich to eat in. Menu stated £5.50 but was charged £6 !! When I queried it I was told they were using old menus!! Expensive for bacon sandwich with 2 small pieces of bacon ! It was nearly all bread. Won’t be going back.

Three of us visited for a couple of hours before a business meeting and we got a bit frustrated over the lacklustre service. Coffee, cups and milk jars on our table long after we had finished and we wanted space! Ordered more coffee eventually after walking to the counter but waiting staff were not tentative or curious to offer us more or observant enough to take the dishes away - basics really. It doesn’t help that they dress with no branding so you don’t know who are staff and who aren’t! Also it’s a cold uncosy shop and with a silly process of making you queue outside even in 5 degree temperatures is ridiculous. They appear to have like a seating regime that they choose for you - all rather odd. Toilets and unisex too which was strange. Coffee was average and food was OK. If I was the owner and I’d gee them all a bit to serve customers and not inconvenience people by making them ‘check in’ first! Covid or not it’s rare to have a casual coffee shop behave so oddly!

My friend and I went for lunch yesterday having last visited pre Covid. I booked a table online and the Covid safety was good. The rules were carefully explained once we were at our table. We couldn't decide on our choices so ordered the slow scrambled eggs which were served on a delicious cheese scone (don't expect the usual cheese scone!). We also ordered the toasted cheese sandwich with added Yorkshire ham. We then shared these two dishes and had the best of both worlds. Two iced coffees and americano coffees were consumed. Again as expected from North Star they were delicious. I have bought my coffee, mainly online since north Star was founded I have tried a wide range and learnt a lot about the production and growing challenges that brings me my cafetiere every morning. Have a wander around the Docks area of Leeds and try a coffee and have something something to eat whether you take away, eat outside or book a table inside. Just wish I lived nearer.

Hubby and I just wanted to get out of the house and have a little treat. Lockdown 3.0 means we don't get out a lot! Our son in law recommend this place so we had a little drive out to Leeds docks. (It was a little drive, no lockdown rules broken!) The shop had a makeshift till just inside the door and it was one customer at a time. We decided that it must be a good place when after walking through deserted Leeds docks there was a queue for the shop and several people waiting for their drinks. The shop had their cakes/pastries lined up inside the window so you got chance to browse whilst queueing. The server at the till was really nice and friendly. We bought a selection of items to share. A pork, cheese and jalapeno sausage roll that was so tasty I wanted to go back to the shop for more. An almond croissant that was substantial with lots of crispy layers and a nice generous filling. A sticky orange flapjack that was packed with seeds and fruit and every bite was delicious. Last but not least was a peanut butter blondie that just melted in the mouth. The price was just over £15 for the four items. So a bit pricier than similar types of pastries from chain stores but packed with way more quality ingredients and certainly way more flavour. So overall very good value for money. I predict I will be visiting Leeds docks again soon. The dilemma will be which treats to try next!

Used to be lovely but new owners don’t have a clue. Whilst the food is okay, everything else has gone down hill. Menu wise I’d suggest you advertise a quiche as a quiche, not a tart. You don’t stand a chance of hearing your party, the acoustics are shocking. As for the clientele it’s full of screaming and I mean screaming brats. So if you fancied a nice relaxing lunch with friends, I’d suggest somewhere else because it won’t happen. And the owners don’t care, that’s the sad part. Perhaps you need to advertise that you are more of a crèche than an overpriced cafe.

Called in for drinks, one weekend night out. I thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing, as I used to come here clubbing 20 odd years ago. Brilliant atmosphere & choice of drinks. Superb building too. Will be back again sometime soon hopefully ...

Buena comida, buena relación calidad-precio, gente encantadora a cargo, un entorno agradable, recomendaría totalmente el café BLT a cualquiera.
