Not worth the money for beef noodles £10 The soup tastes bland and not rich enough. For beef, you can choose beef or brisket, but no matter which one you choose, you will be disappointed. The beef is dry and hard, even soaking it in soup will not help. The brisket was tough and crumbly, with no taste at all. The worst part is that even the chili oil is not spicy enough. We only accept cash, so if you are used to electronic payment, it will be in vain.

My go to place for Chinese noodles! The current price (May 2024) is between £8.50 and 10.00 depending if you get a veg or meat dish. The noodles are made fresh with the meat cooked to perfection.

Food was piping hot, flavoursome, and generously portionedn with a super quick service. No atmosphere as more like an old school dining room but st least the quality of the food was ample compensation.

Beautiful food - best noodles ever, but they nearly came back up when I saw the state of the toilet. Please clean it- it wouldn’t take 10 mins

Absolutely fantastic, you'd be hard pressed to find better noodles in Yorkshire. Service - No fuss, order at the till and collect it yourself. Atmosphere - Again, unfussy. People come to eat and leave. Works for me! Food - There's no bad word that can be said. The bowl is simple and absolutely fantastic. Hand pulled noodles you can hear slapping the table all through your bowl. Rich chilli oil, gorgeous sauce and fantastic tender beef pieces. Every time I'm in Sheffield I am here.

Like what other reviews have said, it does seem like they've now stopped making hand-pulled noodles and switched to a machine. The noodles are still good, but this is a shame as the old hand-pulled flat noodles were just amazing. The food is still great though, and though they've put up their prices to around ~£10 a bowl, this is for a pretty big portion and a price rise was inevitable unfortunately. Get the Braised Beef Dry Noodle - the beef is so tender and tasty and the fresh herbs and the noodles combine really well. For veggies Egg and Tomato Noodle is a staple for a reason, it's pretty gorgeous. One of the best restaurants in Sheffield - you really can't beat £11 for a big bowl of fresh beef noodles and a fun drink.

**UPDATE** They've now replaced the handmade noodles with machine made noodles, which isn't necessarily a bad thing(?), the noodles are now shaped consistent and less sudden loud bangs whilst eating. The price for no.2 braised beef soup noodles is now £9.99. and still cash only. Still tastes really good. **End** Great tasting soup noodles in Sheffield! £8.90 for a big bowl of noodles. No.2 is my go to order, handmade noodles (you can watch them make it) with soft and flavourful beef brisket. I also added their chili oil.

Sorry, just a belated comment As a student of the College of Engineering, it is hard not to be impressed by him, especially an international student. This noodle shop has been recognized by many of my classmates from the north. A big shout out to lanzhou ramen! Talking about food, I have tried all the noodles in this restaurant. I ate them from my freshman year to my junior year. Soup noodles are the choice of most people. Safe choice! Personally, I prefer mixed noodles. Tomato and egg noodles, or fried noodles with oil, or mixed with brisket, or mixed with beef are all good choices. The portions are also very large, but the price has been increasing, and I hope it can stabilize at around 10 pounds. To be honest, there is no perfect answer, let me tell you where is the missing star? It's that fat sales clerk wearing slippers, and his service attitude is average? By the way, I hate fat people

used to be a lovely place with hand pulled noodles and cheap prices. they upped the price by over 3 pounds since i first came, and have replaced the fresh hand pulled noodles with starchy, store bought noodles. the beef is no longer tender and delicious. so disappointed, a huge waste of money and changed completelt since i first came. such awful quality now, clear they’ve stopped caring about this place

absolutely appauled at the new changes at noodlesta. went with my daughter today and this place used to be incredibly cheap and amazing quality; hand pulled noodles buy a guy in the front. ordered the braised beef pull noodle only to find they raised the price by loads and the noodles are now starchy and from the packet. disgusting. its clear that the owners have become money hungry and no longer care about the quality of the food they serve.

Beef noodles tasty, soup matches so well to coriander and spring onion with a fine touch of personalised chilli oil. Hand pulled noodles is great. If they can further make traditional knife carved noodles also from northern China then it would be better than excellent for sure.

Braised beef pulled noodle is simply one of the best noodle bowls you'll find anywhere. Had it multiple times and it's perfect every time.

The noodles are delicious, but the air conditioner is not too cold. I am sweating profusely after eating. I hope the air conditioner is more powerful.

Great place with delicious food. I love the fact that menu is simple and short. There's no decor in this place which is perfect for eating, nothing that could distract me from eating. Great Chinese noodles. Some ppl in comments suggest that the portion is big, I don't think so, it depends for who. I ordered a noodle soup with extra noodles on top, when I finished it, I ate my partners unfinished noodle soup as well (for her it was too much) i can definitely recommend this place. There's no parking spaces nearby.

Banging noodles -best for miles maybe in the UK

I have revisited this shop after 5 years. I can confirm that they maintain a consistent taste for their handmade noodles. For 10.8 GBP (I add another extra portion of noodles), you can leave with a happy smile and a full stomach. Watching the chef make and bash the noodles on the spot is delightful.

Let's start out with saying that this place was amazing the staff was great, and food utterly delicious. It was probably the best meal we have had so far this trip. Only bad thing is they are cash only. I had to take one star off for being cash only. We got a #2 and #10 both were delicious. The meat was tender the hand pulled noodles perfectly cooked. And the chef made the noodles right there! It was so cool to watch.

The day I went, the noodle chef wasn’t there so the noodles weren’t handmade which is a pity. Not many options in the menu and they only take cash or wechat pay. Food is good though.

Amazing food here! Had a huge bowl of Braised Beef Noodles plenty of noodles in a lovely broth and the beef just melted in your mouth. The chef is continuously hand pulling the noodles from fresh in the background while you eat, great to see. Well worth a visit. Be careful if you're adding a bit of spicy stuff using the ladle on the counter, a little goes a long way 😅

Lovely noodles, plenty of meat and clean, you can watch the food being prepared, it's not a fancy restaurant but it's busy, lots of students use it I think as it seems really cheap for what you get. My only complaint is choice. There's no duck, or seafood and no pork on the menu. There's beef and chicken, though, as well as a vegetarian choice. The noodles were excellent, though, and they make them whilst you're there, so nice and fresh. Loved the place and will be going back. Oh remember to take cash, though, as they dont take card payments!

This is not Halal, don't put a Halal sign in Chinese to fake it. This is seriously inappropriate and extremely offensive! What if Moslem walk in without asking? Who take the responsibility??? My friend is Moslem so we went there to have dinner. But when double-check by asking the chef we were told it's not Halal. We came all the way to you just for a fake Halal sign. My friend was very disappointed and also offended. We don't come into a place to criticize the food if you can't even be honest and respectful to people with faith.

This place is the same as the foreigner Lanzhou Ramen restaurant in Leeds. It’s all foreigners making ramen and it’s loud. Shocked to the core. There are also many foreigners coming to eat.

Small place with great food, some great noodles however the service isnt the best, you can only pay in cash and there is quite a loud noise inside from the kitchen.

Freshly hand made northern style noodles all the dishes are made on demand, really really lovely soup broth, always lovely to have lots of fresh condiments to choose from and just the like the noodle I had in China they will give you fresh garlic haha, very reasonable priced as lots of students drop in while we were having our quick lunch.

The taste is okay. I see that it is hand-made and very smoky. But for me, who likes spicy food, I feel it is a bit lacking because the chili oil is not spicy and has no fragrance.

Decent lunch spot in Sheffield on Brook Hill. Went with a friend to get hand pulled noodles with beef. Simple setting with ample seating. The beef noodles were a massive helping, with delicious noodle texture and soup broth, interspersed with soft, tender beef. The portion was large enough to satisfy both of us. Will be sure to come back for more!

Best in Sheff! The number 2, beef pull noodle, is the most authentic and delicious broth outside of East Asia. The number 7, spicy sizzling noodles, is veggie and packs the flavour in. It comes with flat noodles which are delicious and these amazing roasted peanuts. It's no thrills but the food speaks for itself. I would 100% recommend this place to any noodle/broth lover. Tip : It's cash only and it's a bit like a fish and chip shop with its open times, so you can't always trust Google.

No deco, no services but they can serve you one of the best beef noodles from China. 8 pounds something and you get a huge bowl....very well done. Definitely a re-visit.

Food is so good, so yummy and the portion for me is amazing. Price is a little high but fair because its freshly made. Place could be a bit cleaner..no need for better decor as the noodles speaks for its selves. Love how simple things look. Me and my partner go here all the time. I think I would feel a bit intimidated to go alone so I would only go with him as he speaks the language. Staff seem very polite BEST noodles I've ever had 😍 Down side is that whenever I come it's always closed. Says online it's open weekends now but I have just been and it's closed.

The food in the noodles was so cold that I couldn't even bite into it. It is strongly recommended to use bilingual waiters. It is outrageous for Chinese people to order in English while reading the Chinese menu. My parents, who don’t speak English, had a hard time ordering food. If you want to be fully English-speaking, then learn from others and use the credit card machine.

I think there's quite a small menu which I prefer, order at the counter. really authentic food, prepared fresh. You can see the noodles being made and the food itself is so tasty and good portions. I think the price is really good. I used to live in China and this was a piece of that. Can't wait to go again. A good size restaurant and not cramped.

Some of the best noodles I’ve ever had.

This place is a gem of a find! Their style is Lanzhou ramen. This is handmade hand-pulled ramen which the chef does front of house for everyone to see. Amazing atmosphere and cool authentic experience. They have a small menu which shows they have perfected the food they make. I ordered the braised beef noodle and my friend ordered the beef noodle. These are number 2 and 1 on the menu and it is what I recommend you to try. Very authentic to its cuisine and the service is friendly and speedy. They allow you to add some chilli oil to your dish when it is ready too. The restaurant is usually quite busy and has a student vibe. The food is unmatched, the noodles are chewy in a good way and the soup is bursting with flavour. The beef is the perfect combination of meat to fat and everything in the dish complents eachother. They mention they are halal on the outside but I would ask them to double check. The Lanzhou area in China is known for being halal. I highly recommend you try this place out. 10/10 would come again!

Ordered the meat and egg dish. tasty. But the eggs are scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Other than that it's good. ordered beef noodle with extra noodle, beef and eggs. I confirm that this is absolutely genuine Lanzhou noodles. It goes with raw garlic which is in a bowl at the till.

Wasn't sure what to expect but if you ever want a bowl of noodles in the most delicious broth with melt in the mouth flavours and meat this is the place. Perfect on a cold winter's evening but can imagine it'll be great all year round

Well, I saw it when passing by Diamond and tried it. The ramen was very average and not as good as the one on West Street.

I ran to the store hungry. I was speechless. When I arrived at 8 o'clock, I was told that it was closed. There were obviously people in the store and it was written on Google Map that it closed at 8.30. It was a waste of time and my heart felt so cold.

This place is amazing. Absolutely no airs and graces or anything offered beyond the food but within 10 minutes of walking in you will have a massive bowl of hand pulled noodles with various tasty accompaniments. 80% of the clientele is ethnic Chinese (a good sign) but no problem ordering for the English person - just go straight to the counter and pay there.

Hand pulled noodles in the heart of the University district. This place is such a hidden gem. The tastiest noodles, at a great prices- all dishes under £10. I got number 5, the dry noodle braised beef. Delicious.

Traditional hand pulled biang biang noodles. I've been looking for the best noodles around for years, and these hand pulled biang biang noodles are as good as it gets. The place is a bit ramshackle and could do with a paint job, but the noodles are out of this world. Get the braised beef, you won't regret it

Traditional Chinese food. The food is tasty and of good value. The only unpleasant thing is that it often has to wait since it is always overcrowded.

I do not recommend. Food cold. Place is cold. Hygiene of this place is awful. I didn't like the taste , smell and look of the meal.

We were recommended to come here by friends. The place is quite run down and not been looked after inside. Decor has seen better days. The place was very cold as there didn't seem to be any heating so wear warm clothes. The menu is small and is mainly just noodles either in soup or without soup ('dry' on the menu). You have to order at the counter and move to the side counter to get your bowl or they will call out if you sit down at a table. They only accept cash. I had the braised beef dry noodles. It didn't take long to be ready. This was really nice and would recommend. The portion was a good. There are quite a few tables but not sure how busy this gets. It got busier when we were there but not overly busy. The place seemed ok clean but not as clean as it should be. Omg this is the best noodle in UK I ever ate! The noodle handmade is the signature of this place! Would be great if staff could speak more English but it is so so so good! Wow!

Compared to a year ago, the taste is heaven and earth. The ramen chef changed, and the taste of the soup also changed. The ones we make now are no longer ordinary, they are unpalatable and you will be full after just two bites. I used to come here once or twice a week, but now one bite can fill me up for a month. Won't come again
