I visited rice and noodle, 5minutes walk from Liverpool Street and 5 minutes from Spitalfields market on a Monday really lovely service interesting menu with some really interesting Chinese authentic dishes we went for some sharing starters including, a jelly dish which was really refreshing, some home-made noodles which nearly blew my head off, some sweetcorn fritters and some potato cakes which were really tasty but they’re better known for the big bowls of Slurpee noodle soups a lot of the things on the menu are quite spicy they also do some really nice Chinese teas. I’d really recommend it for some authentic Chinese food.

Vegetarians!!! This restaurant uses oyster sauce when making the vegetarian dishes!!! When I pointed out that vegetarians don't eat seafood I was told that this was commonplace in restaurants in the UK and they just don't mention it on the menu so none of their dishes are suitable for vegetarians!!

my wife and I went to this restaurant to get a simple takeaway of noodles. it was early saturday afternoon and no-one was about. we walked in and ordered, they took our money before starting to cook. Then they left us alone in the restaurant. we waited for nearly two hours and we couldnt leave as they had taken our money and there was noone to ask about times as they had all disappeared. When we got our food they gave a tepid apology. We got home and EVERYTHING was wrong. It wasnt worth going back so we ate it anyway: To top it off it was cold and totally bland - never never never never never never NEVER NEVER again!!!!!

As I was with a group of friends I didn't question my bill at the time, but on reflection and after checking their menu online I realised I had been charged £6.50 extra. Paid with cash, and was not given a bill, so no chance of getting money back. Food was good, service terrible but in a slightly endearing Basil Faulty kind of way. I will probably go back at some point, but will definitely check my bill carefully.

I really feel I should put as much effort into writing this review as Noodle & Rice put into our microwaved freezer food. Then again, considering how much these thieves charge their customers for such reheated rubbish it's probably worth a few words of warning. Clearly, I should have been suspicious of anywhere that claims to be both a Chinese and Japanese restaurant, the only thing in which they have in common would be, um....noodles and rice? Seriously, this was awful. And worst of all, not cheap. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento which consisted of: Chicken teriyaki that tasted of nothing. How on earth did one manage to achieve creating a chicken "teriyaki" that tastes of nothing? Not fresh. Gyoza - from the freezer, no question about that. Not fresh. Rice - this had been sitting for hours, not fresh Sushi - awful. Not fresh. Seriously, it beggars belief that people can actually make a living out of this. And worst of all, it is a disgrace that people are so willing to pay for such diabolical tripe. And a lot of money too. What a joke.

Noodle & Rice aims its prices squarely at the very large student population in the area. The decor is simple, the food cheap but good. An example a main course £3.99. I liked the experience and there is no reason I would not return?

Used to get takeaway from here for years and it used to be good. But it has gone down hill. The last 2 times the food has been extremely not fresh, like they just whack old food in the microwave and give it to the customers. Ordered 3 meals and it had arrived in 10 minutes, it should not take that quick to arrive. The food tasted really old. One of the meals had random different noodles in it like it was from a prior old meal. Don’t think they have any regard on the quality of their food or keeping customers.

Ordered a cross selection from the menu for a delivery. The food arrived and it was the worst Chinese meal we have ever ordered!!! The chicken curry was watery mire like a tasteless chicken soup! All the food from the egg fried rice to the house special noodle was just bland! Dry and tasteless, below is a picture of the chicken curry

Wow. Taste buds revived. AMAZING food. Green curry like I have never had before, yet it's a favourite I choose often. Try the Matoom platter, everything delicately delicious. The go-to place for vegan and gluten-free. Don't be fooled by the unassuming front. The space is also comfortable, and Van's service is warm and super friendly. Plus, as there is no booze licence, you can choose a bottle from Sainsbury's across the road, and save on the price of wine. This is the best value for money I have come across in years.
