Had the scallion noodles with chicken. Great overall. Would recommend and come again.

we ordered a starter and a main each ! i got the beef brisket noodle soup and steamed beef strips . the food came SOOOO QUICK ! we also got the chicken cube dry noodle and chicken dumplings . the dumplings were nice and crisp . the beef strips were an interesting texture and were pretty garlicky - paired nicely with rice . the cubed chicken was too oily and did not have enough flavour for my friend ! the beef brisket noodle soup was quite good ! the beef was nice but the soup was quite oily and the noodles were very soft . spice wise it was pretty manageable for me but that’s a personal thing :) the vinegar at the table helped balance the oil out to be fair ! it was very filling overall !!

Came here on what is meant to be off-peak times but found the restaurant still bustling with people. We always give this place a miss because we’ve had bad experiences from Schezuan-style noodles and dumplings here in Manchester. This place is amazing their dumplings are tasty and full of flavour as well as their mains. Definitely will be back.

I went here for dinner with a vegan friend. There were lots of vegan and vegetarian options, which can be hard to find in Chinese food. I ordered the beef noodles myself, and they were really authentic. I grew up in China and am quite picky with Chinese food, but these impressed me. The service was quick and friendly.

The environment is nice, but the overall taste of the food is far from satisfactory A Sichuan restaurant opened by a Hong Konger... a combination of factors? Can I just say that everyone has their own taste? Anyway, my advice is not to come here...

Really delicious and extremely quick service! The server gave an excellent recommendation (unfortunately I've forgotten what the dish was called) but everything was very flavourful and the texture of the chicken in particular was perfect.

Because I am from Sichuan, I found a restaurant to taste the flavor of my hometown after I came to Manchester last year. This year, I came to Manchester to run a half marathon and had a meal with my classmates after the race. The three of us ordered two chicken fried rice, shrimp fried noodles, beef noodles, roasted pepper preserved eggs, and steamed beef with rice flour (forgive me for not remembering the exact names on the menu). I was very satisfied with it. The dishes were served quickly and they suited my Sichuan taste. However, my Northeastern classmate who didn't know much about Sichuan cuisine was not very used to the way of steamed pork with rice flour, and the beef noodles were not the large and filling Lanzhou beef ramen he imagined (then he saw that the chicken fried rice I ordered was good and ordered another one, he liked it more). For another Jiangsu classmate, he couldn't eat spicy food, so when we ordered the food, we specifically asked for less spicy food, and he basically accepted it. In fact, there are Sichuan restaurants in Liverpool, but they are more about takeaway meals that are more in line with the tastes of most students, while Kuanzhai Alley is a more in-depth restoration of some snacks and flavors in Chengdu. Finally, my classmate Sheniu helped me get a chance to take a photo with Sister Wendy. She was not here last year, and I finally saw her in person this year. Sister Wendy is very nice and talked to us about football for a long time. If we hadn't gotten up at 5 am to catch the bus to Manchester for the half marathon and were tired and sleepy, we could have continued the conversation. Thank you Sister Wendy for your warm hospitality. For me, this is not only my favorite restaurant, but also a home for football fans.

Tucked away downstairs in Manchester Chinatown. Noodle Alley Came here with friends on a busy Saturday night. We were greeted by Wendy and our waitress for service was Jenny. Amongst all of us we loved the Chinese Vermicelli which is a thicker version of the standard vermicelli. Chicken based soup has a mild herbal flavour. The beef bones soup noodle came with service, Jenny showed a display of removing the meat off the bone with was very tender and cut the meat into smaller pieces at table side. We ordered two of these beef bones soup noodles which are a special and were very good. Highlight for all of us were the hand made prawn ball tomato soup vermicelli. Very tasty yet clean tasting and more of a delicate broth than a heavy tomato based. Also want to mention the prawn balls were wrapped in thin omelette which was improvised like a wanton skin ❤️ Twice cooked pork rice is also another highlight. The 9 square selection was a great way to try a variety of their food if you are visiting for the first time and everything was cleared up Chilli dumplings, very tasty, would've loved a bigger filling 🤤😬 Most surprising was the grilled vegan sheet. Chewy texture with vegetables, I didn't even realize it notice it was vegan. Only disappointment was the jelly sugar dessert. The sugar was burnt which could be tasted. After we informed the waitress she was very apologetic and they took it in board immediately! Fantastic service!

Food was delicious, service was fast and very helpful, and the atmosphere was lively but not so loud you can't hear eachother. The only problem was that the menus did not have complete labelling for vegetarian and vegan options.

Update: Visited on May 2025 Back at our fave Sichuan style restaurant located right at the heart of Chinatown to sample some of their new dishes ~ We tried the following: 》Whole Beef short rib Qiaojiao noodles 》Zha Zha Beef with sour radishes 》Sichuan double cooked Pork belly in chilli paste with rice 》Steamed Beef strips wrapped with five spiced rice powder 》Deep fried sticky rice cake strip with brown sugar syrup 》Szechuan style pudding with brown sugar syrup The beef noodle soup was spot on with its tender slow braised short rib, silky noodles and robust broth - every mouthful was heavenly. The other noodle dish blew us away with its various textures, spices and contrast of flavours. Very pleased with these 2 new dishes, I highly recommend them. The rice meal with pork belly in chilli paste was quite addictive, I could eat this one everyday! We've tried the steamed beef strips on our previous visits here, always so delightful and one of our go-to starters. Ended the meal with a light soya dessert and a moreish fried rice cake which we thoroughly enjoyed. So impressed with their well-seasoned meats, lovely heat coming from the spices and perfectly cooked dishes which were all made with utmost care. Please visit them if you're in the area, you won't be dissapointed. ___ (Visited on Sept 2024) We visited this Sichuan style noodle bar/street food restaurant in Manchester and their mouthwatering dishes totally impressed us ~ We tried the following: 》House Special Rice Noodle with steamed beef served with pickled vegetable (Soup noodles) 》Sliced Pork Belly in garlic and chilli sauce 》Pork dumplings with sweet and spicy chilli oil, minced garlic 》Su Jiao Mian - minced pork, sesame sauce, house chilli oil (Dry noodles) 》Stir fried rice with Beef cubes and pickled chillies 》Sweet and Sour Ribs 》Steamed beef strips wrapped with five spiced rice powder Sichuan is a province in the heart of China known for the Szechuan peppercorns which is a unique ingredient widely used in their cuisine. The owner of the place was gracious enough to walk us thru the entire menu and gave us a good insight of what the cuisine is all about. Everything was packed with robust flavours and the amount of heat coming from the spices (peppercorns, chillies etc) were simply perfect for us. The various meats were nicely cooked/seasoned well plus the comforting stir-fried rice and hearty bowls with springy noodles got us wanting more. The contrasting textures complimented the authentic taste of the dishes, we absolutely loved them. 🌟 Our top 3 items would be the Su Jiao Mian, Sweet and Sour Ribs and the Stir fried rice with beef cubes and pickled chillies. They have an extensive menu and offers small plates, dry/soup noodles to rice dishes and desserts. Our cravings for an authentic Sichuan feast was definitely satisfied by this buzzing spot, I highly recommend it. ___ Update - 2nd visit on 19-Aug 2024 We had the following: 》Soft tofu with minced pork, chilli oil, pickled cabbage, rice noodle 》Sweet and sour ribs 》Homemade pork dumplings with sweet soy sauce and house special chilli oil 》Braised pork belly in soy sauce with rice 》Fizzy lychee with crushed raspberry The heat coming from the spices were so addictive, perfectly seasoned/tender meats, handmade dumplings, comforting rice meals and springy noodles complimented by the lovely contrast in textures plus robust flavours - we can't get enough of them! Apart from the authentic sichuan food, excellent service and cosy ambiance, the owner is always so gracious and attentive.

I was looking for a cosy place to eat in peace and I found this place. The crew was super smiley. The food(noodle soup with beef cubes) came in 5 min, hot and fresh. And the taste was beyond my expectations. I left the place as a very happy man.

Best food I’ve had in China town. 10/10 This vegan here has finally got to taste authentic, high quality Szechuan cuisine. Service was fast and friendly, all dishes were ready in about 10 minutes despite the restaurant being busy on a Tuesday. Prices were reasonable too. Can’t wait to come back

Authentic food, typical Sichuan style, friendly staff. Everything is perfect for friends gathering to enjoy a beautiful night. Noodle is the best. My favourite is the Shuang Jiao Ban Mian. Will definitely come again.

They post outdated menu outside with lower prices, then when you sit in, the real menu shows 20% higher price of the plate we were interested（and brought us in, in the first place). They also reduced two of us to take a table that can fit four people while they were not that busy. Food were salty, greezy, and not so good.

The Beef cube Noodles are really delicious the seasoning is super flavorful, making every bite amazing! The Spicy Pig Knuckles have a crispy skin with soft inside totally addictive. The service here is also great the staff are really friendly. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend!👍👍👍

Terrible service and terrible management and possible racism, very disrespectful. Rating score is only for service and atmosphere. I would give no star if there is an option for service. Two of us were waiting at entrance to be seated, there were at least 2 empty tables while nobody else is queueing at all, however, we were not allowed to get those tables but were told to wait for other guests to finish their meal and pay their bills to get their smaller table. Blacklisted and we will never go there again.

Noodles was surprisingly tasty, did not regret changing to this dried noodle instead of the sour soup noodles. Portion is pretty big i couldnt finish the whole bowl.

Do not recommend eating here if you have an allergy. Especially nuts. Went to eat here and made it very clear about my allergy yet they didn’t inform me about all sauces being cooked in peanut oil, despite knowing my allergy. Luckily no severe reaction occurred but i couldn’t say the same for others if they were in my position. Allergies are not taken at all seriously here so definitely would not recommend eating here with any sort of allergy as it’s extremely dangerous.

It was my first time on a business trip to Manchester, and my colleagues and I found a noodle shop that looked good near the hotel! It tastes really good! Especially the tofu wrapped in milk (BBQ flavor) is amazing! A must-try when visiting the store! I ordered the bamboo shoot beef noodles. The meat was so awesome and filling! But the taste is a bit sweet. I like spicy food, so I added a lot of chili peppers, but it still doesn't work! I’ll have to order the pickled pepper chicken noodles next time! The overall experience is good! You can also pay via WeChat, which is very convenient! 😊
