Noci in Islington

We had diner in this NOCI Islington restaurant January 19th. The waiter made an error on the bill (overcharged), and we were obliged to pay twice (wrong bill + revised bill). The "manager" confirmed to us that we would be reimbursed within 2 to 3 days. Since this date, we have sent numerous mails, we went in person to ask to be reimbursed. No reimbursment made as of today (26 February). The manager ignored all our attempts and contacts to obtain reimbursement.This behavior leads us to believe that this restaurant wants to fraudulently keep the money. We will keep posting this info, and will alert CI (consummers International). This is not the first post related to this restaurant, with similar behavior. Other clients had the same issue with this restaurant.

What an awful experience and food! First the made a mistake - brought someone food but we were ok with that but than our pasta and fish came absolutely cold. Myself and my mom asked to change it as it was very cold. They brought it back but it was still lucrume - it did not feel that the pasta was freshly cooked - just heated! The starter live dish was freezing cold bread! But that was not all! In the end the bill came and they charged twice for the dish they brought back!!! I was shocked! I asked to speak to manager as my patience burnt but he did not bother to come - instead sent our waiter back and gave us a 20 % discount!! He did not even bother to say apologies and was aware of all what happened!!! I am totally shocked! I asked what the manager name from waiter his name is Leno! Good luck Leno I think you would not even bother about this review!!!!

Lunched at Noci today with my parents and my child, the place was highly recommended by a friend who raved about it. I have to say, food was lovely and the staff was attentive and nice. We had vitello tornato, salad, cacio è pepe pasta, trofie with borlotti beans, focaccia, and torta fritta. Everything was nice, and even the espresso, which I am usually very fussy about, was really good. The decor of the restaurant was very tasteful as well.

I had a birthday dinner here for 12 of us. The sharing menu was perfect and really good value at £40 per head. The staff were so lovely and so accommodating. They made it really special. Highly recommend for a large group and I would love to go back just for a normal dinner too! Thank you to the staff working on 25th nov!

we have reserved this restaurant recommended from my English friend ! we came from italy !! we had a birthday dinner with family and friends . the place it’s very nice very very cozy beautiful atmosphere and especially Lucia, The owner , was very kind with us like all the staff in the restaurant. The food is excellent especially the pasta dishes very nice and a complete great wine cellar. A big hug to all that I’ve made this birthday fantastic!

My friend and I met for lunch. The set meal costs £15(Mon - Fri 12-3) and includes a choice of focaccia, a plate of pasta (3 choices) and a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are so welcoming. Our focaccia was light and tasty with a little dish of olive oil for dipping. I had borlotti beans with trofie and it was delicious and packed full of flavour and my friend had the vegan option of strozzapreti with olives, aubergines and super straccia (vegan mozzarella), which she loved. We had a 125ml glass of Trebbiano and a 125ml glass of Merlot, both were excellent. We were not rushed and spent a lovely couple of hours enjoying a splendid lunch. Such a bargain.

Having enjoyed my first two visits, was super disappointed after lunch today. Warmed up pasta with v little beef for £18. The people next to us commented on the gory age of ragu too. It was lukewarm. Nowhere to hang coats. Seemingly there isn’t room but wasn’t very keen to leave my coat on back of chair where it could be trod on. Service incredibly slow and inattentive I wouldn’t even have left this review if the manager’s response to my main gripe had been met with an apology. My friend had gone to loo and it was backed up. I had only pointed it out so that they were aware, His response was we know. It hardly makes for a healthy appetite. Really disappointing experience, not that it seemed anybody will care.

The food was very tasty and the staff so friendly. Pasta is made in house, We came back and the experience was again very positive. We highly recommend Noci.

We visited as 2 families wanting a lovely experience. We ordered several starters and drinks to start, all arriving very minimal. The mains where so small, 1 sent back as there was so little sauce. We all thought they were very small portions which was such a shame as they were tasty. Staff did not react well to feed back. We Would not return or recommend.

My first drink was wrong. One of our 6 meals was forgotten and had to be reordered even though we had gone over our order thoroughly. We then ordered a 2nd bottle of wine between 4 of us only to be told 5 minutes later the table was required back in 10mins. I asked for the service charge to be removed which required a manager to get involved who handled it by confronting me saying we hadn't complained until the bill arrived!! A great spot, right in the heart of Angel. And a lovely set up-intimate but not over friendly (I’m talking customers). We were greeted & we waited. No rush but we knew we only had a two hour slot & therein lay the first of our grievances. It was just a tad rushed. The food was delicious-not huge portions & maybe could have been a bit more generous-but handmade pasta is just fab. And it was. Pricey but not quite perfect. And we were asked to vacate…not the best way to end an evening.

I was kindly gifted a gift voucher for Noci, Islington. I had finished 6 months of chemo with no taste or appetite so three months later I felt well enough to use the voucher. First impression, very busy and incredibly noisy. When the waiter came to say what wasn’t on the menu I couldn’t hear because of the noise and as he was speaking 3 inches from my husbands ear. There are several aperitivo on the menu so we thought we would have one, we certainly didn’t have time to enjoy it as we the first course arrived right away. Burrata - not the best, in my opinion it’s supposed to be creamy , it certainly wasn’t. The fried mussels were hard to find amongst the veg. No sooner had we finished than the plates were whipped away and the next course arrived within seconds, two different pastas. Unfortunately they were served cold, my husband had very little ragù on the tagliatelle, we weren’t offered parmigiano Reggiana, I had ordered the silk handkerchiefs , so if you can imagine pasta cold, rubbery and not pleasant at all. I mentioned to the waiter that they were both cold and he said I’ll tell the manager. 10 minutes later I am still sat there wondering which bits of the sauce are edible but nothing like what I had hoped for or expected. The manager eventually said these things happen, sometimes food is served cold, we are short staffed , the company model is to move people through quickly . He did bring one replacement dish even though both were served cold. So as there were some deserts missing we asked to settle up and gave him the voucher code. We were there 1 hour which included waiting around to see if the manager wanted to put it right. He didn’t really, he just gave excuses . If you want conveyer belt food served far to quickly in a noisy atmosphere this might be for you. Not me thank you. Ps the waitress serving the aperitivo plonked them down without so much as a word , the only staff member with good customer service skills was the one serving the water and wiping the tables, he should be in charge.

Great food (the portions could be bigger) but terrible service. I understand the restaurant was busy but first of all our side was forgotten until we asked and we then had to ask four times for the bill before leaving which put a dampener on our evening. Thanks to the lovely FOH manager who sorted things for us.

Not the largest menu in the world but enough variety to keep it interesting. Nduja arancini was quite a generous portion with three balls but the veal & pork Genovese paccheri could have done with being quite a bit bigger with the meat portion particularly limited (in my opinion). Pasta cooked beautifully though and the crab ravioli was excellent. Lively and informal atmosphere with tables of differing heights and dozens of conversations filling the air.

Well prepared and non-standard pasta dishes served in this local restaurant. Service was attentive and helpful. Didn’t feel rushed despite the place being full during a weekday. Highly recommend the ragu and the ravioli. Book a table ahead to avoid disappointment

Pasta was cooked to perfection. Probably one of the most authentic Italian pasta places I have tried so far in London, especially given the affordable prices. Starters were very good as well.
