No.5 Bistro in Mansfield

First time eating at this place and we both had a lovely Sunday roast. Having been shown our seats we were a little apprehensive as the room looked quite bland. This however didn’t distract from a good service provided and a lovely Sunday roast. For the quality of food the prices are extremely reasonable. We will return

Amazing place, friendly staff & food absolutely amazing!!! I choose salmon but didn't want potatoes & veg & had a gorgeous salad. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very friendly & accommodating

My hubby and I have been coming here now for 6 months, and I cannot praise No. 5 Bistro enough, we visit every Sunday lunch and also enjoy dinner every Thursday, the food is amazing the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much we trouble we dont go anywhere else now .

Cannot rate no5 highly enough! No5 hosted the wake for my father in laws funeral yesterday and we couldn’t have asked for a better or more caring venue. They responded quickly and compassionately from the first moment I got in touch with them. The opened specifically on a day they’re usually closed and didn’t even charge extra - we just paid for catering and drinks and had the pub to ourselves. The food was amazing (the same price as other local venues but for much more!) we had a mixture of hot and cold food plus desserts and there was plenty for everyone - they even provided take away boxes for people to take some food home at the end of the wake. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to hold it and I wouldn’t hesitate to use No5 for future events! Thank you to Linzi and all the staff.

Was a little disappointed with our meal and service at No 5 bistro. Service could do with a smile and more friendly service. We’ve had much better in the past. Dinner order was taken and it took nearly an hour to serve. Food was luke warm and they only gave us two small bowls of vegetables between 11 people. I asked for more and was given another bowl but we had to wait for it to be cooked. I shouldn’t really need to ask for more. Smaller portions of roasts and tough beef. No one checked on our meal. Then we were told they needed the table for another group and we had 15 minutes to leave. We never got shown a pudding list or offered coffee and we ended up going elsewhere for coffee and cake. We will not return. Hope it improves for other guests.

Called for lunch today with my mum. Food was delicious..mini fish & chips (home cooked chips). There was plenty of food to say it was mini fish & chips. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return

We visited on Valentine’s Day for the set menu. Everything was perfect, food was amazing, service attentive, singer was amazing. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous food and fabulous service, I called before going to enquire about lunch service and when we arrive we were greeted by Ruby who had reserved us a table without us even asking….in post covid time such customer service is hard to come by….I can highly recommend No 5 Bistro……staff, service and food are a credit to Linzi and her team ….fabulous

Perfect for date night and social drinks, beautiful wholesome foods and plenty of it, staff were fantastic, best service here at No.5

Staff friendly and polite,food was very good,best fish n chips in a restaurant this side whitby.the batter was perfect.

We visited for the first time since it was Browns on a Friday evening. Sun was shining so we sat outside for a drink first which was relaxing. We booked a table in the restaurant which is now a separate room away from the bar noise. The staff were very attentive and the food was incredible! Hats off to the kitchen, everything cooked well and great portion sizes. I had the burger and my husband had the pork belly, followed by lemon posset and toffee pudding. All very nice! We will definitely return!

Wow ! I Can not thank the NO5 Bistro team enough. Hosted my baby shower there this weekend and the service and staff were fantastic. The food tasted great and catered to various dietary requirements ( gluten free and vegetarian). The venue itself is stylish, modern and clean. They have a private room available making it the perfect place to hold a celebration.

Not sure what’s happened to the place, used to have good food and nice staff but that seems to have fallen off a cliff, food was well below average and seemed as though the chef had never had real tapas. That could have been forgiven though as previously the food had been better (had some flavour) but the staff were beyond rude and out of their depth, even heard one tell a group of customers ‘i don’t care’. Very poor experience this time and i’m afraid they have lost a repeat customer.

Called in today with my daughter for lunch, we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome as soon as we approached the bar , the food was lovely, freshly prepared and well presented, the portion sizes were very generous too, would highly recommend.

Full English Brekkie this morning . Can’t fault any of it. Lovely staff & service. Again, faultless as always 👍

This was our first time back here since it was taken over some years ago. I much preferred it before. Seemed quite intimate and cosy. Now it just is two big rooms. I guess you can get more people in this way. The bar area was empty but felt cold, so we went to eat in the restaurant, which to be honest felt cold as well. We were the only people in there until a group came to sit down. First appearances really count with me and it wasn’t a good one. There seemed to be no atmosphere in the place. I think it has changed slightly since the photos were taken. We decided to sit near the window as it seemed very dark in there. Unfortunately the windows are opaque so you can’t see through which is a shame, but I assume some people want privacy when they are eating. The chair I sat on was a yellow one. It was filthy. Really badly stained all over, to the point I didn’t even want to sit down on it, and I am not a clean freak! The arm was broken as well, which added to the general feel of the place. My husbands chair was similarly badly stained as well. Having a quick look at the other yellow chairs they all appeared to be in the same state. Probably not the best choice to buy for a restaurant. The windowsill to the side of me was filthy with cobwebs just behind me. The whole place needs a good clean. It takes seconds to at least use a damp cloth to wipe it. I think the price they charge they should really make more of an effort with the cleaning. Clearly it’s not checked on a regular basis as it wasn’t a few days of dust. They were patches of paint that had come away from the wall when something had been taken down I would imagine. I could go on, but won’t. Luckily the food was very good, although I got the wrong dish to what I had ordered. These things happen so it didn’t bother me, and thy kindly charged the lower price for the mistake. Overall I wouldn’t go back. Despite the food. A few friends and family have been in since the change and they all say it’s not as nice. Maybe if they changed the badly stained chairs and spent a few minutes cleaning areas that the customers can see it might create a better impression.

Burgers & fries. One normal fries, one sweet potato. Great quality & sensibly priced too. Service was good. Staff attentive as usual & in nice relaxed venue.
