No. 142 Café & Bar in Waveney

Been to this cafe for many years, we had a slight issue with scones last time we visited, we made the cafe aware, and on my most recent visit, our issues we raised have certainly been listened too and rectified, as the scones were lovely and flavoursome. The coffees were beautiful as always and the staff member who served us was very friendly. Thank you to everyone who works here for taking time to listen to customers feedback and improving from it.

Took a friend here based on the reviews I had read. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food superb - freshly made and the coffee excellent. There was a short wait for food, but nothing that would make me want to take away a star, they were fairly busy and as everyone's food is freshly prepared it takes time. We sat out back in the garden which was quiet, no hint of traffic noise.

Here today working and I must say the breakfast was absolutely amazing thank you so much I was absolutely starving lol A+++++ highly recommend this little cafe and may bring my missus when not working here 👍🥰

Ordered food and tea after 20 minutes the tea arrived after another 30 minutes no food. when I went to inquire I was told they had lost the ticket, and I should have told them earlier. not going back ever. garden area small and very uneven. not good for elderly people

Lovely little place. A little sanctuary in the middle of Oulton Broad. Amazing garden and outside space.

The BEST afternoon tea and experience EVER! Low and gentle Jaz in background of lovely garden with the most delicious spread fir afternoon tea with great team looking after us being attentive but not too much Brilliant lovely experience that I would recommend anyone to have Well done 142 Cafe and Bar in Oulton Broad - Fabulous!

Brilliant continental atmosphere with delicious food all prepared on the premises. I guarantee that you will not get better cakes/ pastries anywhere better.

Really nice little cafe with a big outdoor seating area. Coffee and food were great and reasonable prices.

We visited today and very much enjoyed baklava, cinnamon bun, hot chocolate and coffee. Great friendly service too.

Visited today for Afternoon tea for two purchased by a friend as a gift. Amazing food, very friendly staff, lovely setting. Cannot recommend this Afternoon Tea highly enough, beautiful selection of food and very well presented. Variety of food served was amazing… way too much for two people but leftovers packaged very nicely to take home. Mini BLT’s were a very different touch and delicious. Have had 3/4 afternoon teas in the area but this one was by far the best!! Well done No 142 Cafe & Bar.

Nice food, however very small areas in which to sit , friendly staff.Parking on high St is at a premium, but a pay car park near by

Visit here on a regular basis and the combination of friendly service, amazing freshly prepared food and cocktails along with very apt music gives the perfect vibe for a perfect evening. The tapas are outstanding paired along with great customer service. What more could you need!

Popped I for 1 drink, they were kind enough to let us in with our dog. Had a cocktail each, 19.00. Not many people there but it was getting late, 9ish. Was going to buy some dog bits but they were out of date. Nice music and cute place but not quite as friendly as other places we have been.

This place is first class. Home cooking is done to perfection. All the cakes and pastries are made fresh each day and the coffee is to die for! Superb place!

What a lovely, wished we had found this on our first day rather than last! Breakfast was outstanding! Staff we all very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back.

Lovely place. I totally recommend a visit if you are in the area. They do their own cakes and pastries. Comfortable place, really nice people attending. Has become really popular so better reserve in advance. The oat gluten free dark hot chocolate is really nice and you can take it take away and walk around the park near or get a pic nic.

Had a lovely meal here today, food was tasty and freshly prepared as always. Service was good, polite and friendly staff. Decor is very nice.

I will not be returning. As a disabled person, the stairs are impossible. Panning was delicious

visited a while back- staff were really friendly and patient, we came just after lunch service had finished and were told that they weren’t serving lunch anymore but then a few minutes later they told us we could have a choice of a couple of sandwiches which was perfect for us! even though we came after lunch we weren’t made to feel like a bother at all. the cakes were lovely and we also got a takeaway cheesecake pot which was delicious! nice, cosy atmosphere, will be returning.

Lovely find. Tried other places nearby. Ended up here for take away cake. Staff were lovely and helpful. Planning on returning for vege burger as wife is a vegetarian. Coffee was generous size and cakes lush.

A lovely place to chill out it was a nice find

The food here is outstanding all cooked from fresh and with quality ingredients. Try the veggie breakfast it is delicious with sour dough bread, fried halloumi and poached egg cooked to however you prefer . Also try the specials on the board ..the smoked haddock with creamed potatoes spinach and leeks is fantastic . The atmosphere here is cosy and comfortable. Always a treat .

Me and my Gran went for a drink and cake. My drink and cake was nice.I payed for the two drinks and cake but the slice of cake my gran got sold to another customer and her coffee was terrible she said I was like someone had made a coffee then made it with the Same coffee grounds

Fantastic relaxing night, superb cocktails and the food was outstanding. Lovely and friendly cocktail/tapas bar on Fri & Sat evenings. Also do great breakfasts and home made cakes. Try the Spanakopita.

We booked here for a hen gathering. 17 of us and they catered amazingly. Food was delicious. Drinks inc cocktails brilliant and service great. Thankyou for fantastic few hours :)

Recently discovered, now my go-to for a lazy Sunday breakfast with the family. Great quality, high end of reasonably priced and top service.

Lived in Lowestoft for 24 + years and only just found this little gem! I took my son here who's 3 and my mum! And it was absolutely fabulous atmosphere was perfect ! The food was absolutely stunning !! It's so rare to find somewhere that uses fresh quality ingredients and I'll be raving about this place for a long time !

Great coffee, setting , service & menu. Sat outside in the beautiful garden area. The homemade granola was amazing. I now live abroad , for certain shall be revisiting before I have to return . Highly recommended.

Their decaffeinated coffee is one of the best in town.

First time visit. The quality of the food was excellent, fresh and of a high standard. Good value for money. Service and atmosphere welcoming and friendly. Was nice to have a breakfast where good quality ingredients were used and the food wasn't greasy. Will definitely return again

Beautiful old restaurant, which from the outside looks very tiny, but once inside and through the back it's like a tardis. We had breakfast which was very good in an outside covered area with lovely chill out decor. A hidden gem.

A lovely little cafe that is well worth the visit. Breakfasts are great (my favourite is avocado with chilli oil on sourdough toast, with bacon). Coffees & fresh juice options are good, and I've not yet tried the cakes but they look delicious 😋

Food Best im Oulton staff really friendly wouldn't have breakfast anywhere else

Regretably today the cheese scones were Exceptionally dry. This is first time have ever been disappointed. They looked lovely on counter. Will be back though as its usually lovely.

Spectacular food, lovely staff and cozy interior. We had the bagles with avocado, bacon, and chilly. They were extremely gooood! We also had the fresh pressed orange juice. I would definitely advise this cozy café for brunch, there is also seating outside and on the first floor.

Small Cafe in an old terrace house. Not much seating inside. There is an upstairs. Be careful as the stairs are old small and narrow. However there is a lovely garden area with lots of seating.

Told by staff to take a seat and I will be served Waited 25 mins for service no body came so left.

Food OK, just not to my taste. Not really their fault, just more choice would be great.

Quaint cottage set back from the street slightly, in the centre of outline broad opposite the main park. Lots of parking near by. We went for lunch did not have to book luckily ! Small and eclectic interior. Nice gardens to the rear and more tables upstairs. Just lovely 😊

The best option in the Oulton Broad area

A surprise! From the outside, it looks like someone's house, which it probably was, at some point. Inside, however, it is a bijou shop serving great coffee and amazing cakes. At least, they look amazing - we only had coffee. There is a nice tented area at the back and a flamingo theme. A little gem.

Evening meal - tapas style food, was amazing 😍 would definitely go again! Well worth the price, lovely outdoor area, calm atmosphere, staff friendly too!

Coffee break Stopped in for a coffee with my husband as visiting Lowestoft. Very friendly staff. Great coffee. Deliciously tasty food and lovely location. What more could you want!

A lovely find and unexpected. The outside looks like a more normal tea shop, but open the door and you immediately discover a quirky and welcoming cafe. Then go through to the garden and another world, with lots of tables, opens up. Lots of cakes and biscuits, and pastry savouries on offer, including gluten free and vegan. Lovely coffee. A very relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit. There is also a breakfast, brunch, lunch menu.

The staff here was great. The breakfast was lovely. Lovely garden area to eat in or quaint little room.

I had breakfast on 16/7/22. A bit rustic seating wise outside but more than made up by Excellent staff, excellent food, reasonable prices. Well worth a visit, I'll definitely be going back.

Went there the other afternoon for a cup of tea and sausage roll, food and tea were ok, they shut at 4 we went in at 3.30 but they could'nt or would'nt heat the sausage roll The staff short of customer service skills, music way too loud, not even background music. Not be going there again any time soon

Awesome food in a lovely setting.

Great little cafe near the broads . Huge selection of home made items, sweet and savoury, all made by the lady owner. Don't be put off by the small frontage, lots of outdoor seating in garden at rear. They do get very busy so service can be a bit slow at times but worth the wait. Dogs are welcome in the garden. Free parking for an hour across the road if you can get in otherwise lots of parking in park opposite which is a lovely place to walk round with a children's playground, all well worth a visit.

Lovely café. Staff are so friendly and food is absolutely delicious. The cheese toasties are exceptional and food is reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful little cafe opposite Oulton Broad. Fantastic food through the day. Can't wait to go to a tappas and cocktail night if the food is as good as it is during the day. Even had a Robin hop on the table looking for some crumbs but flew off onto the floor before ei could get my phone out.

A great place to get a coffee. A quaint little coffee shop that also serves food. A cute concept where they’ve changed a house into a cafe. Inside they have limited seating but out the back they have a big terrace with lots of seating. Only had coffees here but the service was quick.

Was recommended to visit by some friends, what a gem in Oulton Broad we had a fantastic night. The tapas came thick and fast, the sharing platters of meat & cheese and a fish ,meat & cheese were really tasty and there was enough to feed four hungry adults. Waiting staff were great and up for a laugh, everything was fresh and of the highest quality, its saying something that we arrived at 7.30pm and were the last to leave at 10.45pm a great night was had.

We sat in the garden with our dog Molly, the cakes here are excellent, I had a baklava which was yummy and the coffee is very good.

Enjoyed a very yummy breakfast of French toast and fruit. Lovely atmosphere too.

Not impressed. The place is quite small, which adds to the atmosphere of a quaint tea shop. There were four of us and a table was quickly cleared. Pity we then had to ask for the table to be wiped. Sausage rolls and hot drinks which we all agreed were excellent. It was a cold Winter's day and the staff kept leaving the back door open, creating an icy draft. Asked for salt, as there wasn't any in the basket of sachets. Assistant went outside (more cold draft) and came back with salt sachets. Opened four and all were damp! When the coffee machine was being used it so loud we couldn't hear ourselves speak. Maybe sitting upstairs would be better?

Good food, however went to come back with my family today. i called up to see if I could book one of the small tables downstairs as we have a pram and 6 month year old. It would be impossible to get upstairs but we got turned away as the person on the phone said no as she won't take table bookings. Seems a difficult rule for babies and disabled people.

Great little cafe - we stopped here after seeing the banksy and had the half English breakfast. Tasty coffee and would have had a cake too if I hadn't been so full!

Had the half breakfast, partner had tomato and pesto panini, couldn't fault the food in anyway, excellent👏
