It's a great place to eat and socialise, the food is amazing and they're very accommodating definitely worth booking a table as they get very busy quickly. Great selection of food I always have one of the Karaage's. Only serve ramen at lunchtime also amazing. One of my favourite places to go. Also have alot of drinks choices too. The Yuzu ice cream is so good, I have to get more than one scoop!

A true gem. A genuine Japanese restaurant with great food at reasonable prices. Delicate and tasty sushi. A yummy miso soup. Cracking yakitori. Slurpy Sapporo. Arigato goziemashita.

Great little restaurant. Staff are very hospital and the food is excellent. Also the prices are very good. If the have it, try the Japanese jelly fish. Very nice.

I try to come here at least once a month. It's home from home. Everything is great but I typically avoid the large dishes and just get loads of small plates to share.

Very good balanced food. Really delicious and probably one of the best Nigiri Unagi we've ever tasted. Reasonable prices for good quality clean food. And the service was spot on.

First visit and really enjoyed the food. Wish I had ordered a curry but my noodles were still fine. Dumplings were superb. Will be back to sample some more of the menu. Very reasonable prices and good drinks selection. Excellent service too.

Stunning Japanese restaurant which is one of the best places to dine out in all of Bournemouth. Make sure to book well in advance! This eaterie is fairly intimate and very popular by its strong reputation. You are in for such a treat and be well taken care of at Nippon Inn.

Wonderful restaurant run by the sweetest people. The food is fresh and delicious 😋 I ate here 4 times in the last month and the quality of the food and service is always outstanding. The biggest bonus is that they are super dog friendly and they genuinely love dogs 🐕🐶 Thank you to the amazing team at Nippon Inn, we will definitely be regulars from now on 🙂

i love the food the Takoyaki and Gyudon are really delicious. The restaurant has a really cool appearance and the staff are super friendly!

I have been going to this place for over a decade (not regular) and the food is still amazing after so many years. They had several chairs and tables crowded together/stuck together that weren't in use, so a little minus in regards of the atmosphere. We got the food without the cuddles (sticks etc) and had to wait for a while because the server was chatting with other customers.

We went to Nippon Inn for a friends birthday. Starting with the atmosphere, it was okay, however it didn't real feel like anyone was around. Our food took quite a while to come out, and I would say while it was nice it was also fairly routine. The prices are excellent, but the food does feel like it suffers a little from a lack of imagination. I will caveat that by saying that everyone at the table enjoyed there meal, it was all cooked and prepared well. The service, while seemingly only being done by one person front of house was nothing short of brilliant. The waitress was extremely attentive, making us all feel welcome and taking our orders quickly and efficiently. I would return for the service alone. It is enjoyable food, for a very reasonable price, however it just lacks something that would take it to the next level.

Absolutely the best sushi we have ever had! Beautifully presented. We were impressed. We travelled about 25 miles to try out this little gem & it turned out to be above our expectations. Attentive and friendly service from the owners too. We are definitely looking forward to returning.

This place is a little hidden gem, the food was delicious, the service was great (quiet, helpful, unobtrusive). The location is distinctly unglamorous but you won't need to look out of the window - you'll be concentrating too hard on your plate!

I'm so confused how people think this is good authentic Japanese food, and how the rating is so high. Having tasted Japanese food in Japan, and other cities in the UK, I can assure you the food here is at best, mediocre. Portions are small and don't really offer much for your money in terms of taste. The staff and ambience is lovely but that's basically what you're paying for.

Looking for that taste of Japan? Look no further than Nippon . They have a great range of Japanese dishes on offer for a reasonable price. Make sure to book in advance as it can get extremely busy.

My son and I discovered this place by chance and absolutely loved it. We ordered several items off the menu including sushi, yakitori, gyoza, karaage and yakisoba, all absolutely delicious and very good value. We will be back!

My first experience of a Japanese restaurant and I loved it! The food was amazing, well priced and great value for money. The Unagi or eel was extremely tasty, as was my Maki Sushi, we also had some Teriyaki dishes which were equally as tasty. Best of all for me, is that everything was gluten free and the staff were so friendly and accommodating regarding this, I feel safe to eat here and I can’t wait for my next visit.

The food is always delicious. Highly recommend the Tempura Soba 👌🏼 my go to favourite dish and always made to perfection. The Maki Sushi is also delicious. Decent service from the owners and staff.

Ordered takeaway and got delivered cold-ish soft fries and cold meat also...Prices not relating to the expected quality and portions were really tiny...Not a good experience Much better is the Japanese Noodle bar Bournemouth on Holdenhurst Road if you are looking for delicious Japanese meal and reasonable prices

The staff is really friendly and kind. The food was good and it was worth for the price. We tried maki suchi and salmon sushimi. The staff gave us extra pickle ginger when we asked for free. The place atmosphere is very calming and the place is very clean. I would highly recommend this place and would go back to try more food. 10/10❤️

I’ve experienced Nippon Inn as a restaurant and this takeaway disappointed massively. The noodles taste and portion size was nothing compared to in house and the gyoza were a chewy texture and you could see they had been over cooked. The only reason I am giving a 2 star as opposed to 1 is that the sushi tasted incredible as always, but unfortunately we were still hungry due to the portion size of our noodles and also unhappy with the quality.

My birthday treat. Don't know much about Japanese food, but like sushi and sashimi. Did not know what to expect, but it was brilliant. The waitress went through the menu, and we tried all sorts of stuff, can't remember what, but nothing, disappointed. Really cool place, busy but not crowded. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Also tried hot saki. Really good and enhanced the meal. Not one to be missed

Amazing Food, I loved the option of traditional Japanese seating. There were to many of us for that area this time, so definitely next time.

I've lived in Leeds, Southampton, Oxford, and several other places. Nippon Inn is my favourite Japanese I've been to. I've been about ten times over the last few years. There's nothing I'd change. And that's a rare comment from me. I hope the family that run it make enough money from it. They deserve to be driving Maseratis, such is the quality of the experience.

Regularly visit, the portions are great, taste never disappoints and is the only restaurant that has sapporo, my favorite beer.

I went to this restaurant few times and the japanese staff very nice and kind , made me feel so welcome. Today I came back for dinner and feel disappointed, the staff so rude, special the young man work in there. And I never come back here again.

Such friendly staff this place has been going for quite a while. The food feels authentic and the service is attentive. You can also have a window seat and sit on the floor on a mat and eat Japanese style.

This is one of the more difficult reviews I've ever written, as different aspects were very different, and I was torn between giving three and four stars. Let me pre-empt the question on food by saying that the food was delicious, the staff were generally friendly, and most of the experience was great! So what could possibly justify taking off two stars? The drinks service, amazingly. I ordered a ramune soda - a traditional Japanese drink where the fun is basically in opening it. It has a marble in it sealing it, and the entire fun of the drink is opening it, which can be an acquired skill. I felt like a kid being told not to believe in Santa Claus - my ramune arrived already opened and with a straw in it! You might not agree that this is worthy of two stars off, but it took so much fun out of the night out that, while it seems a bit harsh to my adult self, my inner child wanted to give them one star. Given the food was excellent, three stars seems a fair compromise :)

Best restaurant in the world! I accidentally found this Izakaya while looking for places to go on my trip, and went here 4 days straight. The place is awesome, very cozy, the food is great, the drink selection is massive, and the staff are lovely and awesome <3. I will definitely come back next time I'm in UK.

A little gem of a surprise - we found Nippon Inn as we were struggling to find a place to eat on Friday evening. Coming from London, we’ve eaten at many established eatery’s there, so we were pleasantly surprised and absolutely hit the jackpot when we found a table that could accommodate us. The food was very tasty and authentically presented, portions were also good and value for the price. I will definitely be coming back next time we are visiting the area.

Friendly service and tasty food. A good selection of choices on the menu to choose from. Best to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant is very popular. They also have two tables on tatami mats where you take off your shoes to sit at for a real Japanese experience. It was a shame that a couple of students who sat there seemed not to have taken notice and kept their shoes on. Staff were very polite and didn't make an issue of it.
