Delicious food. Caters for gluten free. I thought the portions were small.

This is an amazing find. Authentic Nipponese cuisine in the heart of charmister. It's quiet and nondescript from the front. Decor could really do with a revamp. But the food is superb. This is clearly where the main focus of this place is. There is lots to choose from. It all looks amazing and my choices were really tasty and well presented. You do have to watch out though as the cost mounts up without realising. Its a lot of taps / small plates eating and all goes down a bit too easy. My recommendation would be to get a main with rice like a katsu curry and a couple of tasty extras to share if budget is an issue. Staff are friendly and professional. Food is a little slow coming out but is worth the wait so get your drinks and Japanese nibbles ordered while you wait.

It's a great place to eat and socialise, the food is amazing and they're very accommodating definitely worth booking a table as they get very busy quickly. Great selection of food I always have one of the Karaage's. Only serve ramen at lunchtime also amazing. One of my favourite places to go. Also have alot of drinks choices too. The Yuzu ice cream is so good, I have to get more than one scoop!

A true gem. A genuine Japanese restaurant with great food at reasonable prices. Delicate and tasty sushi. A yummy miso soup. Cracking yakitori. Slurpy Sapporo. Arigato goziemashita.

Delicious food!! Amazingly considerate towards those with dietary allergies. Definitely friendly for those who can’t have gluten.

Great little restaurant. Staff are very hospital and the food is excellent. Also the prices are very good. If the have it, try the Japanese jelly fish. Very nice.

I try to come here at least once a month. It's home from home. Everything is great but I typically avoid the large dishes and just get loads of small plates to share.

Hemos estado usando Nippon Inn por unos 10 años, desde que éramos estudiantes en el área. Soy vegetariana pero mi pareja come pescado, y nosotros tengo su menú. La comida es deliciosa (recomiendo encarecidamente el Tempura) , panecillos de maki vegetal y yakisoba! También disfrutamos del curry vegetal, Inari y edaname. . . Básicamente todo el menú es perfecto. Siempre nos acomodan incluso si llamamos de última hora, lo cual agradecemos, sin duda recomiendo reservar con antelación para evitar decepciones. El restaurante está bien decorado y el personal es muy amable y agradable. En cuanto a la accesibilidad, es accesible en silla de ruedas (leve escalón para entrar). Los inodoros se encuentran en la parte trasera sin inodoro para discapacitados. Hay una rampa para llegar al baño trasero, pero es un poco apretado para un usuario de silla de ruedas, pero manejable. Yoko es realmente encantador y nos preocupamos mucho por Nippon Inn. ¡Gracias por servirnos todos estos años, seguiremos siendo clientes leales!

Very good balanced food. Really delicious and probably one of the best Nigiri Unagi we've ever tasted. Reasonable prices for good quality clean food. And the service was spot on.

First visit and really enjoyed the food. Wish I had ordered a curry but my noodles were still fine. Dumplings were superb. Will be back to sample some more of the menu. Very reasonable prices and good drinks selection. Excellent service too.

Recomiendo el tskune, alitas de pollo, karage y el sushi / sashimi. Tienen una ensalada de atún abrasado que siempre está en la tabla de especiales que es delicioso. Muy recomendable!

Stunning Japanese restaurant which is one of the best places to dine out in all of Bournemouth. Make sure to book well in advance! This eaterie is fairly intimate and very popular by its strong reputation. You are in for such a treat and be well taken care of at Nippon Inn.

Wonderful restaurant run by the sweetest people. The food is fresh and delicious 😋 I ate here 4 times in the last month and the quality of the food and service is always outstanding. The biggest bonus is that they are super dog friendly and they genuinely love dogs 🐕🐶 Thank you to the amazing team at Nippon Inn, we will definitely be regulars from now on 🙂

i love the food the Takoyaki and Gyudon are really delicious. The restaurant has a really cool appearance and the staff are super friendly!

I have been going to this place for over a decade (not regular) and the food is still amazing after so many years. They had several chairs and tables crowded together/stuck together that weren't in use, so a little minus in regards of the atmosphere. We got the food without the cuddles (sticks etc) and had to wait for a while because the server was chatting with other customers.

We went to Nippon Inn for a friends birthday. Starting with the atmosphere, it was okay, however it didn't real feel like anyone was around. Our food took quite a while to come out, and I would say while it was nice it was also fairly routine. The prices are excellent, but the food does feel like it suffers a little from a lack of imagination. I will caveat that by saying that everyone at the table enjoyed there meal, it was all cooked and prepared well. The service, while seemingly only being done by one person front of house was nothing short of brilliant. The waitress was extremely attentive, making us all feel welcome and taking our orders quickly and efficiently. I would return for the service alone. It is enjoyable food, for a very reasonable price, however it just lacks something that would take it to the next level.

Absolutely the best sushi we have ever had! Beautifully presented. We were impressed. We travelled about 25 miles to try out this little gem & it turned out to be above our expectations. Attentive and friendly service from the owners too. We are definitely looking forward to returning.

This place is a little hidden gem, the food was delicious, the service was great (quiet, helpful, unobtrusive). The location is distinctly unglamorous but you won't need to look out of the window - you'll be concentrating too hard on your plate!

I'm so confused how people think this is good authentic Japanese food, and how the rating is so high. Having tasted Japanese food in Japan, and other cities in the UK, I can assure you the food here is at best, mediocre. Portions are small and don't really offer much for your money in terms of taste. The staff and ambience is lovely but that's basically what you're paying for.

Excellent family japanese restaurant - no fuss, good value, highly recommended, really friendly staff.

My son and I discovered this place by chance and absolutely loved it. We ordered several items off the menu including sushi, yakitori, gyoza, karaage and yakisoba, all absolutely delicious and very good value. We will be back!

My first experience of a Japanese restaurant and I loved it! The food was amazing, well priced and great value for money. The Unagi or eel was extremely tasty, as was my Maki Sushi, we also had some Teriyaki dishes which were equally as tasty. Best of all for me, is that everything was gluten free and the staff were so friendly and accommodating regarding this, I feel safe to eat here and I can’t wait for my next visit.

The staff is really friendly and kind. The food was good and it was worth for the price. We tried maki suchi and salmon sushimi. The staff gave us extra pickle ginger when we asked for free. The place atmosphere is very calming and the place is very clean. I would highly recommend this place and would go back to try more food. 10/10❤️

I’ve experienced Nippon Inn as a restaurant and this takeaway disappointed massively. The noodles taste and portion size was nothing compared to in house and the gyoza were a chewy texture and you could see they had been over cooked. The only reason I am giving a 2 star as opposed to 1 is that the sushi tasted incredible as always, but unfortunately we were still hungry due to the portion size of our noodles and also unhappy with the quality.

My birthday treat. Don't know much about Japanese food, but like sushi and sashimi. Did not know what to expect, but it was brilliant. The waitress went through the menu, and we tried all sorts of stuff, can't remember what, but nothing, disappointed. Really cool place, busy but not crowded. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Also tried hot saki. Really good and enhanced the meal. Not one to be missed

Amazing Food, I loved the option of traditional Japanese seating. There were to many of us for that area this time, so definitely next time.

I've lived in Leeds, Southampton, Oxford, and several other places. Nippon Inn is my favourite Japanese I've been to. I've been about ten times over the last few years. There's nothing I'd change. And that's a rare comment from me. I hope the family that run it make enough money from it. They deserve to be driving Maseratis, such is the quality of the experience.

Regularly visit, the portions are great, taste never disappoints and is the only restaurant that has sapporo, my favorite beer.

I went to this restaurant few times and the japanese staff very nice and kind , made me feel so welcome. Today I came back for dinner and feel disappointed, the staff so rude, special the young man work in there. And I never come back here again.

Such friendly staff this place has been going for quite a while. The food feels authentic and the service is attentive. You can also have a window seat and sit on the floor on a mat and eat Japanese style.
