Nile Bar in Haringey

Been to Nile Bar a couple of times, nice Nyama Choma and grilled Tilapia. Good Karaoke nights on Wednesday. Occasionally rowdy patrons but can be dealt with by management. At times one can be thrown out at 2am.

Have been couple of times to the Nile Bar and when we r at the door the security try to chat my friend up, then my friend told him off and he said she will not let her go in so I ask him what he wants and we r not here for small talk with him, he said that others can go in but my friend can not and so we decided all of four not to go In and left while waiting for a cub we saw some girls all of them wearing white getting in and the same security started with one of them and didn't let her in as well and started some argument and push the lady down and the lady move aside and a call and couple of minutes we saw police but then our cab came and we left but i don't understand which kind security they put no manners at all, the owner should look out this is not good for his business any way I just said I should write the experience we had their.

I have been to Nile Bar on multiple occasions, what is particularly nice is to grab a Tusker combined with some nyomi-choma. Karaoke nights (Wednesdays) is usually really good as well, and this is followed by a DJ going until 3AM (if the manager isn't there, then the staff will usually try to kick all the patrons out at 2AM though...) Not the place to be on Friday or Saturday night though, unless there is an event on. Nile Bar has definitely managed to create the atmosphere of an East African bar. I cannot put my fingers on exactly what it is, but if you have travelled in East Africa before then you will sense it right away. For example, service moves at a very leisurely pace, you never know whether your food will arrive in 15 minutes, or an hour and 15 minutes... Waitresses also aren't shy to suggest that you buy them a tequila shot either... No point in getting upset about it. A cool place to drop into and soak up the atmosphere once a month or so, defo.
