Best ice cream in Glasgow by far!!!! Amazing selection of sweets. Great old school cafe....highly recommend!!!!!!!!

A firm favourite on the southside. Old established businesss that has survived Covid and continues to dispense the best home made ice cream. They do small cones for children and the couple running it are so friendly and so positive.

I've been visiting this cafe since i was born, a lot of my childhood memories involve a wee tub of ice cream with raspberry sauce from here. I lived in shawlands then moved away but still visited whenever possible and the place has hardly changed in 40 plus years. My best friend now lives walking distance from the door and has started taking his young daughter there for a treat. The service is always first class and i regret when I miss a visit when nearby. This is one of the few remaining traditional cafes in Glasgow which should be appreciated .I look forward to visiting with my own kids one day.

Old school cafe, but its worth going alone for the ice cream. I had skipped lunch one day and was in the need for something to eat, so thought I would pop in for a cold filled roll, but unfortunately that had stopped serving for the day. The ice cream caught my eye and looked for to good to turn down on a hot summers afternoon. Really tasty and certainly the best I have had in the city. If passing by worth stopping for a little while to grab something.

Prices are a bit much for what you get Tbh. 3 slice of pastrami cut to translucency! Lots of lettuce for a proper ridiculous mark up for what you actually get. Not good value for money.. for something that cost less than a £1.50 to make. Been in the business a long time, and I won't be recommending ever.

Lovely ice cream, nice family run business. Also has a selection of sweets in jars to purchase. Great little takeaway for a little treat, who doesn't love ice cream :-)

Although this is a cafe it charges restaurant prices. You would need a second mortgage to visit here.

Love this wee cafe, beautiful delicious vanilla ice cream, sweets are good too not bad prices for 200g alphabet letters £2.40

Family run business where nothing is any bother and they create a fabulous atmosphere. They have a great selection of Crolla flavoured Ice Cream but I w.ould advise going for the Ice Cream that they make themselves

this is nostalgic glasgow at its best - you can find sweets you didnt know still existed and the ice cream is second to none !

This is your Traditional type Cafe, but by all means not old. Ice cream is fantastic and homemade. Taste is beautiful. Sit in for snacks, tea, coffee etc etc. You can have your normal rolls in egg, bacon, potato scone, burger etc. Or you can choose your cold selections. Lots of jars of traditional sweets in window you can choose from. You can buy as little or large amounts. Clean surroundings, pleasant helpful staff. Open 9am to 10pm usually. You won't be disappointed.

This place takes me back to my childhood with how shops should be. Family run, excellent service, amazing prices for their fantastic ice cream and traditional sweet tubs full of loads of goodies to pick from - need to go here more often, a real gem!

Real old fashioned café with proper Italian ice cream. Décor could be a bit better but who cares when the ice cream tastes so good.

I live in Wales but have family who live in Glasgow. I make sure that I visit Newlands Cafe every time I go up there. I LOVE the ice cream, it's beautiful, my favourite ever! Not just that, the staff are so lovely and take the time to talk to you every time 😄
