New happy house in Cardiff

Just got our usual Cantonese dd meal for 2 but this time swapped out the sweet and sour pork for the Szechuan house special. It was amazing. New happy house rules

Never again! Firstly they could not understand our order due to the loud kitchen behind them, took several attempts and not very polite. We wanted to pay by card but this was not possible so we were asked to pay by bank transfer into a personal account. Alarm bells should have been ringing. The delivery took over an hour as the driver went to a completely different area of Cardiff so took him 20 minutes to then get to us. Finally the food was not the best and warm, left all of us ill that evening. I don't like giving bad reviews but I would avoid.

Ordered food twice from here. The staff were plesant and the environment inside was alright. Food was also prepared promptly. However, we found the food quite disappointing. After the first time, we wondered if it was a one-off bad day for them and decided to give them a second chance. We ordered different menu items, but sadly were just as disappointing the second time around.

Watery tasteless food don’t waste your money

What has happened to this place. I visited here last night. The food was very greasy and tastless. I would not go back there.

I tried the Happy House today Saturday 6th after reading a review.I haven't had b.q ribs for a number of year's,so I went for those,hoping to reignite the succulent soft pork,falling off the bone I remembered.However that was not the case at all.It was a fair portion,but the meat was very chewy and dry.Nothing like I remembered.As for the b.q sauce,it was as runny as water,not thick at all.Ive never left a review before,but reading a review made me try this takeaway.Unfortunately,it will be the first and last time.

Very bad service and they have very bad attitude on the phone been waiting over one hour for my food

Food was fine. However, wait time was extremely long - double what said on the website! Said they were on their way but waited 1 hour 20 minutes.

We LOVE happy house. Whenever we have ordered/or collected, the food has always been steaming hot and fresh. The portion sizes are SO generous. We are massive happy house fans. Thank you so much.

So gutted this place have gone downhill. Food took over a hour to get delivered, the food was cold, the chips tasted dry as if they'd been warmed up, the rice was tastless and the curry sauce was thin. They're also not on just eat anymore 😕 So disappointed

Ordered delivery which came very quickly. Food was still hot and tasted great.

Beat grub ive had from a chinese in years

Ordered our dishes from Happy House as our normal Chinese takeaway was shut. Meals ordered were nice and tasty. One question I have for most takeaways is the quality of the chicken or the meat they use. Can certainly say that it is not the good quality you get from supermarkets or butchers.

Best Chinese I’ve had in Cardiff

I placed an order online, and the lady who attended to me, her service was top-notch. I ordered fried rice extra portion. This had little/no taste. The happy house mixed meat fried rice was ‘wet and soft’ it was difficult to understand if it was still fried rice.The prawns with mixed vegetable had little taste. I wonder if the cook was cautious! For the Mixed appetisers, I enjoyed those the most. Quite tasty. Is it safe to say the person who prepared the appetisers differ from the person who cooked other meals? Thanks for the free prawn crackers, I enjoyed that too.

This place has been dishing out first class food every single time I have ordered. When I’ve been to collect, I’ve been made to feel welcomed and appreciated. Over the phone you have always been so helpful and accommodating. Tonight however, our experience has melted my heart. I cheekily asked for chop sticks and fortune cookies… my request was met total agreement with a level of service I haven’t had in the most high brow restaurants I’ve visited. So… twenty five minutes later my food arrived at the same time a call from Martha who had dealt with my order. She was mortified that on her short break the sticks and cookies had been missed out and how genuinely sorry she was. Would you believe it, 10 minutes later a bag of chop sticks and fortune cookies arrived! Martha, thank you with all our hearts Ant & Kel

The best vegan Chinese around! Not to mention the service is always speedy with food taking just 10 minutes to get to my doorstep after I ordered, all still piping hot. I 100% recommend, but I wish the vegan selection would be available on their website instead of me having to call u p every time.

Good quality food at fair prices, good VFM portion sizes!

We got a take away from here last week and it was ok. We had the veggie chow mein, veggie fried rice and bbq ribs. The ribs were very tasty, but the chow mein and rice dishes were just very wet. Decent amount of food and decently priced, we had enough for some leftovers the next day. Staff were very friendly and polite, and had it all ready for us in under ten minutes.

Seriously highly recommended, the food was absolutely delicious and amazing (they are one of the best that I have had out of so many Chinese takeaways - seriously). The Service was prompt and fast, we did not have to wait long to collect or freshly cooked food, after we made our order.

Arrived very quickly, large sized portions especially for the relatively cheap price. Food was very tasty, particularly the lemon chicken.

Hands down the best Chinese takeaway place i have had. Not insanely expensive, and the food was exquisite. BBQ ribs from here are heaven sent.

Never failed me :) fried noodles and bean sprouts egg fried rice chicken balls bbq sauce beef in black bean sauce prawn crackers and chips are bloody amazing from here :):) I’m ordering from you tonight can’t wait for your tasty food :):)

First time eating from here and certainly won't be the last, absolutely delicious food. Sweet and sour pork was beautiful and everything deep fried like the pork balls and pancake rolls weren't at all greasy. Can't recommend this place enough.

Food was ok specially the salt and pepper ribs

Was disappointed with today’s order. I had ordered egg fried rice, chicken balls & chips with curry sauce. The curry sauce and chicken balls were great. However I had asked for egg fried rice and the rice consisted of no egg what so ever. In addition the chips wernt cooked properly and tasted half raw. Will not be using this Chinese again!
