10/10 Cod and Chips, best one in the area, such friendly staff, would definitely come again, perfect crisp on the cod and amazing balance between crispy and fluffy on the chips, amazing! 🍟🐠

This is definitely one of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The batter was so thin and crispy and cooked to perfection. The service was really great. Though I went on the weekend and the shop was really busy, the service was quick. They double checked the orders and packed along with the condiments. Overall great experience. Will definitely visit again.

This looks like a standard Fish and Chippy on a suburban road, however it exceeds appearances. Service was great with accurate advice on the portion size and customer requirements. I went for the Small Cod and chips which was great value,taste, quality fish and a full portion. The batter was crispy,oil was fresh,dry and light . The staff were young but very knowledgeable and cooked the takeaway perfectly. You won't be disappointed here.

This amazing fish and chip shop on Eastwood road is the best!! The crispy batter on the fish is always perfect, and the chips are so tasty and fluffy. Plus, the portions are generous, and the staff is super friendly. It's definitely a 5-star spot for a classic fish and chips experience!

Very friendly atmosphere and staff, with freshly-made delicious food that are great portion-sizes. It’s easy to get to and parking just outside the shop, plus ordering online from Uber Eats or Just Eat is easy. Their open on a Sunday, which is convenient because not a lot of shops are!

Gone down hill drastically. The fish was chewy, chips were dry and hard. Curry sauce seemed like a packet mix. Won’t be returning again

Requested delivery time, which was confirmed by restaurant only for them to add up to 30mins.. Actually arrived 20mins later than I requested. Pleasant delivery driver, food good nice and hot.

Fish was dry overcooked and cold and the chips were chewy when it arrived with us. Shame as we normally enjoy the food from here.

Amazing little place. Compact, but overflowing with goodness. The cod and chips were out of this world! Crispy batter and cooked to perfection - Flakey and light inside. SOOOOO GOOD! Service was so quick, even though the fish was cooked on-the-spot while we waited. The chips were HUGE - steak fry size - crisp on the outside, fluffy and yummy inside. Charlotte was sweet and very personable. Served us with a huge smile. We couldn't have been more impressed and pleased. We'd just bought a new car. We were 90 minutes from home, and hungry, so we decided to "christen" it with our first meal eaten, sat in the new car. We stayed on the premises and ate our meal in the car park. There is seating for while you wait for your order, but no tables or places to eat inside the restaurant. We HIGHLY recommend New Cod on the Block, Leigh on Sea! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s!!

The fish had yellow in it and was very greasy

So disappointed especially after reading good review. Chips tasted and looked really old, not fresh at all and most of the portion had bad ones. Looked like old potatoes were used.

Not over-enamoured. I have shown that the delivery was on time but it was well beyond the original time quoted. Not sure that I will use this company again

As per usual there are not enough Just Eat Drivers. Food was luke warm and overcooked by the time it finally arrived so couldn’t eat much of it. Very disappointing food and delivery, a waste of money tonight.

First time ordering but was disappointed. I ordered about 11.30 ish and thought we would get freshly cooked. Generous portion of chips but they werent very nice or fresh. Only the fattest chips were edible the rest were hard. Chicken was dry and overdone but the skin was very crispy and nice but the chicken dry, the chicken leg was very over cooked.

Ordered large chips , 10 nuggets,chicken burger,2 Savoloy s and chicken nuggets kids meal and instead of the kids meal they put 5 extra nuggets a in , no kids chips or drink .

Order on a Tuesday night, waited over and hour and 15mins and they then gave me someone else's order, absolutely useless, will never use again

Placed my order at 5pm and by 6pm my order still wasn’t here so I phoned the restaurant for an update. They told me a driver would be there at 6.10 and then onto us. I waited till 6.30pm and tried to ring the restaurant to have an update and couldn’t get through I placed 35 calls to the restaurant and non of them managed to get through so I went down to the restaurant. I explained that I had been waiting nearly 2 hours for our food and had no update from them or just eat to where our food was. W

Quality of fish is always good. Stored in cardboard boxes so means fish and chips are not soggy.

The food was delivered hot and was delicious. A beautifully buttery piece of cod, cooked to perfection. Delivery took longer than I would have liked but it was well worth the wait.

We ordered 2 fish cakes and 1 cod roe but instead we received cod bites even after calling the restaurant

No burger sauce, no cheese on burger when we asked for these. Lettuce on chicken burger we asked for Mayonnaise only complete mess up on order. Cod and chips were fine

Absolutely gross. The young lad at the counter got my order wrong, asked for a large cod ended up with a special cod, it was minute so they offered me a drink or another small special. I took the later offer and wished i hadn't nothing on them but burnt batter and grease. Gone downhill rapidly never to return to that place.

The food was later than original time given, however it was peak time Friday evening so no complaints. The food arrived hot and was lovely would recommend 👌 😋

Always go with Pizza, Kebab, Burgers etc. We tried New Cod on the block recently and again this evening. Where do I start…delivery bang on, food amazing, portions huge. Anyone looking for a Fish and Chip meal Saveloy, Sausage in Batter, Pies….whatever from a fish and chip shop, this is seriously amazing. Can’t wait to go again 👍

It was late due to a lack of a driver. The food we had was lovely, just a shame we were missing a battered sausage. Have used them before and food is always tasty.

No the Restaurants fault took over an hour to get a courier to collect the food. But it was cooked fresh once someone was assigned so food was fabulous.

Nice fish and chips, I thought the chip portion was too large, we threw a lot away, in this current financial situation I hate to see waste.

Popped in for an impromptu takeaway. When I got the order home I found that 1 part of the order was missing. So I had to go back to the shop as I approached the counter the ladies acknowledged that they had missed it out and handed it to me. Chips portions were very large and probably only needed 1 large between 3 people.

First time trying and have been meaning to for the last 2 years after seeing all the reviews. Exceeds all expectations, fantastic quality and taste. Will now be my new regular chippy.

Had a meal from here for the family tonight , excellent as always but tonight I had the calamari which was superb in fact the best I’ve had . The staff are always happy and helpful . Would highly recommend them ❤️

Where to begin, The staff are very friendly here, always up for a chat while your waiting, they are smiley and very approachable. The food is amazing. We’ve had cod bites from here multiple times and they’ve always been perfect, kids meals have also never been a let down. I highly recommend this chippy delivery services can be a bit funny, so get yourself in there and get a take out, it’ll be better and I urge people to give them another try if you’ve had a bad experience, everyone has a bad day, trust me I know. So 5 stars to an amazing team and quality food

John's telepathy can be entertaining: like some of the far bigger fast food networks the products are consistently satisfying - that's enough to make me a regular. Also, New Cod is often faster than the fast food giants and always delicious. It's value for money and well worth a try. If your lucky, you can catch the customer parking space right outside the shop. New Cod's already an old favourite and glad to see it reopen recently - a FIVE! :)) Also, lately, the complimentary free crisps thrown in with meal orders at the counter are a real treat (naughty but nice).
