Nell's Pizza in Manchester

Amazing pizza, and best vegan pizzas i've ever had. Service was good - food came quickly despite being busy - and a good price. Will definitely be back!

If you're craving enormous pizzas, look no further! Reminiscent of New York's slices that you need to fold to hold, the flavour possibilities are varied, and the prices are reasonable, especially with the deals they have for lunch and dinner. We shared two huge pizzas between four of us but I've also been to the Kampus venue for lunch and had the smaller size (which is not small by any means!). 🍕 The ONLY downside I could find at the NQ restaurant was that the lighting is very low in the evenings: atmospheric, perhaps, but not helpful when you're trying to eat. All in all, a great pizza place to catch up with friends over a slice or three!

We ordered their Ham and pineapple pizza and I'm not a pineapple-in-my-pizza type of person but enjoyed it. Price was good as well as we got it during their pizza deal (until 4pm in certain days). Worth a try! :)

Bar service or table QR code. Nice selection of drinks including adult slushies. The pizzas were absolutely delicious and HUGE. We ordered 1/2 original cheese for the kids and 1/2 spicy sausage and pepperoni for the adults. The hot honey and spicey sauce is chef's kiss good ❤️‍🔥 🤌🏻 Will definitely return. There is a meal deal and a mid week dining offer available. Great place for a couple of slices in the city.

Very nice pizza and for £7.77 you can’t beat it. Only gripe is the mobile phone ordering system, I’d rather order with a real person.

My husband and I dined here tonight. He got the ‘Original Sauce material’ and ate the whole thing as he absolutely loved it. I got the ‘Funghi Jambone’ and it was disappointing to say the least. The flavor was single note and it tasted like a pizza I would order as drunk food rather than dinner. You pay before you order, so even though I only ate one slice, there was nothing they could do. Overall the atmosphere, service and drinks were great but the Funghi Jambone not so much.

Great place for tasty pizza and a good pint. Family friendly and lots of room on the tables for the kids to do kids stuff. Highly recommend for family's 👍

Food was nice but slightly overpriced. The drinks, especially the alcoholic ones, were awful. Just stick to regular alcoholic drinks and stop trying to reinvent the wheel with hipster beer. Probably wouldn't return

Would love to give this a 5 star and I could purely on the food but unfortunately the "girl" with braids I was served by behind the bar was unbelievably rude with little to no service skills. We had ordered sat down and eaten before we even got our drinks (which were pints of coke) After 25 mins I got up to question where our drink were and i was met with hostility and an attitude being told to "wait they are coming" all while pulling a face to the other bar woman and tutting under her breath. If I'm doing half of the job and coming to the bar when there is NOBODY stood there ordering and there are no drinks on the side ready to be dropped off then what are you doing? Just give me my drink i have paid for so I can leave. I ordered my food and drink together for them to arrive together (or close enough) The floor staff were putting in the actual work making sure everyone got their food the least she could do is move her body and help them out rather then standing doing literally nothing other then giving attitude.

Average food that is overpriced. Terrible service. Reminded 4+ times that there was a reservation after ours and the table we had was needed. Told 15 mins before our reservation had ended that the next party had arrived and we were pressured to leave quickly, despite the fact we were continually buying drinks. Ordering done via QR code at the table, very rigid, could not request any amendments. Webpage assumed a tip each time an order was made despite the service being woeful.

Arrived a full hour before closing. Was told they'd be closing early due to supply & demand. ?? Really bad attitude. Staff were not at all apologetic, and made us feel like it was our mistake - we then saw the staff leaving with boxes of pizza for themselves minutes later! We'd paid for a taxi to the venue given they were supposed to be open. Really wouldn't recommend chancing it.

OMG get those 22” in my mouth. Seriously though, one of best pizzas I’ve had. We shared 2x 22” between four of us and it was plenty. Great place in general too.

The pizza by the slice is very tasty. Not a big venue. The staff are ok but not friendliest on the night that I went- they seem frustrated id you dont have a table number or if they cant hear your order when the music is extremely loud. The vibe in the venue is cool though and the outside seating is nice with lights but there are no table numbers outside for ordering pizza.

If you love a tasty thin crust pizza, this is the place to go. I had the corn supreme, my friend went for funghi jambon, they're both very good. Staff is always lovely.

The service we had was outstanding. The front of house was excellent. The pizzas we superb. In fact the gluten free pizza was the best one my friend had had in any restaurant.

It's sounds like an over statement but this is THE best pizza I've ever eaten. The service is way above anything else. I cannot recommend enough. I'll be back next time I'm in the area

Fabulous food, lovely place to eat out with colleagues. Not so busy as a midweek night in January. Background music was a tad too loud for comfortable conversation so after eating we moved on to find a more quiet venue

Had a booking on Sunday with friends and their little one. I rang ahead once booked to advise we would have 2 prams and one with a baby, so they could place us in an appropriate area, especially as my little one if asleep would be in the pram lay down. I was told not a problem. We then arrived and was shown to the table with little room for buggies, I advised I had called in advance. The initial person who greeted us was rude, questioned who I had spoken too. Then asked if she would go in high chair and I advised she's a baby and is not old enough. It was then suggested she sit on my knee which wouldn't have been a major problem if she wasn't asleep. It very much felt like we was inconvenience and then after 10 mins of seating us. Was then reminded how long we had. If I had been told it may be difficult to accommodate prams and buggies before hand, I would have reconsidered. The one waitor was rude, quite brittle and abrupt and I very much felt put out for having a baby with me. Maybe if accommodating prams and buggies are an issue, this could be something you could advise on your page. I was looking forward to coming, but it felt very much rushed

Pizza was quite tasty, great crust and nicely flavored - only complaint would be how they were quite light with the toppings. But nice dipping sauces adds an extra layer.

Service took a little longer than expected but the atmosphere was chilled out and most importantly the Pizza tasted great.

The food was good but the Manager was awful. The wrong pizza came out after waiting quite a while and he accused us of ordering a “cheaper” pizza when I was allergic to pineapple which is why the wrong order came out apparently! No refund or customer service at all! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Went for dinner with a couple of friends as a belated birthday. One of us was celiac and we informed the restaurant when booking. They said they can't guarantee for an allergy, but there is a gluten-free menu. When we got there their main menu said to go and order at the bar if you have any allergy requirement. As we did that, they refuse to serve him. The girl serving at the bar was incredibly rude. Horrible experience, will never set foot there again.

It was twenty till closing for food, but could you not just pop our pizzas in a microwave toaster oven? Cold pizza from a hyped up place left us very disappointed The staff announced rudely “if you use the rest of the bar you might get served” to people politely queuing and waiting The whole experience was pretty meh

One of the best pizza’s in Manchester. As much as I love an authentic Napoli-style pizza, Nells does the best NY-style thin crust. High quality and unique toppings, great ratio of cheese to sauce, crispy base, and I love dipping the crusts in one of the house dips. Love getting a 22’ half & half and sharing it out. Always had speedy and friendly service at the bar at Common, and there’s a good chilled vibe about the place. Great value for money and definitely one of my favourites.

I paid £15 for a gluten free pizza. The pizza was tiny and on some sort of deep pan base. The base was tasteless and looked like it could have been bought. The normal pizzas are excellent from Nells, but to be charged £15 for a tiny substandard gluten free option was ridiculous. I won't be visiting again. Don't bother if you're gluten intolerant

New Yorker here. Damned impressed. The dough is banging. The dipping sauce is not New York style but it's a smart idea for the delicious crust. My only wish to make it true New York style is to offer the classic condiments at the table like oregano, red pepper flakes, parmesan, garlic powder. Would also love a make your own pizza option. Every time I come to Manchester I'll come here. Best (NY) pizza on this side of the pond.

Lovely, spacious and always friendly with pizza that's second-to-none. Table ordering via mobile is still in place (and quick), but it's also a joy to wonder to to the bar and chat with the friendly staff. The 22 inch pizza is something to behold and the toppings are high quality and different to what you'd find elsewhere. Outdoor seating is available too. A firm family favourite

I got 6 22 inch pizzas delivered for my birthday party and I have to say the service and food was honestly amazing. I had to find something last minute as a different restaurant fell through and they were so accommodating! The manager was so nice when I rang up, the price was so reasonable and they threw in some dips for free :) absolutely fab service. The pizzas also went down a treat, we got a mixture of toppings and they all got eaten. Thanks Nells for making my birthday so special :) couldn’t recommend enough!

Having seen the storefront during the weekend, my wife and I decided to give it a go, so we bought our daughter for an impromptu lunch today, (26.07.2022). We ordered one 22" half and half pizza between us and there's not really a lot I can say about it, aside from quoting my wife, who said, "That was probably the best pizza I have ever had!" This was a proper thin crust, oven baked pizza, and saying it was perfectly cooked is not an exaggeration. The staff were all very professional and friendly, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. To summarise, great pizza at a reasonable price. Stop reading and start eating! My wife and I popped in today, and is completely forgotten about my original review until a message appeared on my phone asking if is like to update my review. Almost a year ago, to the day, we ordered a 22 inch half and half. We also ordered one today. Half Hawaiian, half Original Sausage Material, and they were excellently cooked and delicious. Oh, we also had a starter this time. The Cheesy Garli-B was perfection on a plate. Seriously, if you've never been to this place, go, and if you have been before, go again!

Went here a couple weeks ago with a friend for food and drinks. The frozen red grapefruit margaritas were fantastic 👌 The pizzas have super tasty toppings. The garlic bread was sooo good 😍 Then we had ice cream sandwiches. The red velvet was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. We had a lovely waitress serve us at the bar but there was a long wait on food.

Came to the Common, Northern Quarter location for pizza and a few beers and overall it was just okay. Beer selection was decent. As for food, the Original Sausage Material pizza was surprisingly good but the Burrata was sadly lacking in actual burrata/stracciatella and was *super* garlicky - I assume from some of the oil, although garlic was not included on the menu listing. I'd probably come back for the OG Sausage but order carefully for other pizzas. In general, as for many places, please just list on the menu what's in the actual dish so customers are not disappointed or have to send it back.

My favourite pizza place in Manchester! Great vegan options and love the fact I can order a slice at a time to try all the flavours!! They’ve also added some new pizzas to the menu and they are amazing! The cocktails are great too but quite pricey.The hibiscus Margarita is so damn tasty! The staff are friendly too. Love that they hold quizzes some nights which are great fun to go to.

Was looking forward to visiting, took a group of friends and I am quite disappointed. I wish there were more options, and service was quite slow and staff weren’t very friendly. I don’t know if they’re overworked or just snobby but we didn’t feel very welcomed. :(

Was disappointed after lots of recommendations. Wouldn't order a 22 inch pizza if to visit again. Waited an hour for our pizza with no apology. Saw people ordering 14 inch pizzas after we ordered ours and getting them brfore ours. 14 inch pizzas are definitely prioritised. Pizza wasn't much different from other places. Service was nothing to shout about.

Also, they have different frozen margaritas, I really recommend those margaritas are delicious. The service is amazing. I went for a birthday party so you can book the place for your loved one and have a party, a really good place to have it. Sometimes they had a DJ which joined the vibe of the place. 🇪🇦Muy buen lugar para ir en el Northern Quarter de Manchester. Tienen increíbles pizzas grandes 🍕 de diferentes tipos. Además, tienen diferentes margaritas congeladas, realmente recomiendo esas margaritas que son deliciosas. El servicio es asombroso. We came here yesterday with work, and the service and attitudes of some of the staff were just horrible. I am unsure of the girl's name, but my colleagues and I would only get attitude from her as she would raise her voice and say, “Do you want to be served” or aggressively place our drinks in front of us. I did speak with the manager, but he didn't seem bothered. Before leaving, there was another staff member, Luke, and he asked, “How was your night/time here” We all said it was good and the pizza is really, and I mentioned the only downfall was that girl, and he kicked off, saying that is my friend, and you upset her by complaining. I told him why I made the complaint, and he proceeds to shout and argue with me, before he started shouting for security to move me and kept saying, “Ew, remove him”, and I asked for the manager. He said he was the manager, but I did see the actual manager and told him of what had just happened. Again not too bothered, but I hope he will have a word because that service ruined mine and a few co-workers' nights. I definitely, won't be back. Have to say though, the pizza is fantastic! Gave it 2 stars as the food was good but the service was shocking.

Been here a few times, and whilst the food is good unfortunately the staff are just plain rude the majority of the times I’ve been. Real shame because other than that it’s a decent place.

let me preface this by saying i absolutely love nells, always had a great experience with staff and the pizza is great but my god the music is unbearable... its so loud it makes it all a very overwhelming experience and it's always the same kind of dj set with heavy bass i really wish it wasnt like that every time, it's literally the only reason i don't go when i'd like to :(

Visited at lunchtime for pizza. It took half an hour for the food to arrive, even though there were only 2 tables of people in the restaurant. Unfortunately the Whimsy was not nice at all, it was very dry and covered in a layer of coarse black pepper (like 2-3 teaspoons overall, not just a sprinkle!). No one came to check how our food was either. Overall, I was very disappointed with the food and service, which is a shame because I'd seen great things about this place!

Pizza was unreal. I’m not sure whether it was aided by the fact I’d been on the sauce for a few hours beforehand but it was honestly perfect. It’s a thin crust pizza but the bottom of the dough has a slight crisp to it which makes it better to hold as well as being great to eat. Toppings tasted great and the dough was 10/10 perfect. Prices are v reasonable for food and drink too. Just make sure you know to order at the bar and don’t sit about waiting!

Food is great, service slightly let’s it down but if you’re just wanting some quick tasty pizza this place is a great shout!

Great pizza and great atmosphere

Travelled from Leeds - waited an hour outside the restaurant for a takeaway pizza, having been told it’d be 30 mins. We kept being told 10 more mins and that it was ‘in the oven’, though it never materialised. In the end staff gave us a refund and said they couldn’t make one for us as they were busy - rude and clueless staff who wasted an hour of our time. Also under refunded me

The cheese and onion pizza is the best

Popped in randomly whilst out in Manchester. The food was good, the atmosphere too, but what really ruined the experience was the SO grumpy staff member behind the bar - such attitude and just didn't want to serve / take an oder. To the extent that the people waiting openly laughed at her ridiculously poor service/attitude. Such a shame as all the other staff were lovely, only to be ruined by the 1 staff member. Ruined it for us. Shall make sure I book in advance at Purezza next time .... its always a great experience there.

Food tasted nice service was appalling

Been here twice now, first of all the beer is a touch expensive but that isn't a deal breaker. The pizza is decent, especially on Monday when there are good deals on, but sadly the service is poor. Last time we came here, we disturbed the guy working the bar who was busy on his phone, and were met with utter indifference on a quiet afternoon. These aren't easy times in hospitality, staff should at least show a bit of interest. Today was equally poor, the girl on the bar refused to break a smile, took our order and was cold and disinterested. Sadly we won't be coming again, very decent pizza, but up there with the poorest service in Manchester.

We were excited to try the pizza, the reviews looked good and it was close by. Unfortunately, not long after ordering, we have noticed rodent droppings in the corner of the bench that we were sitting on (table 8). We have asked to cancel the order, as we did not feel it was sanitary to eat there, and were promptly refunded. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Visited on 03.03.23, just before 4pm.

Good Pizza and beer. The service is weird though. Free seating seemingly but no proper table service and you can't just buy slices at the counter? Adopt US service style as well as the pizza and would be improved.

Very tasty pizza, good house IPAs too. Prices online are different to what's in the restaurant.
