Extensive outdoor riverside recreation area for dog walkers, cyclists and joggers with children's playground. Plenty parking areas and cafe with toilets. Boating ramp with the occasional seal resting. Picnic tables and benches to rest.

As a Newcastle first timer and foodie, I did a bit of research on where to go for some good food in Newcastle for the weekend. Hen & Hops popped up after a short search. SO glad we came here, buffalo wings were chunky and meaty, chicken tenders were perfectly cooked and tasty, the truffle fries were bloody delicious, BBQ beans also nice and Smokey, onion rings crispy and not too oily and hash bites soo moreish. 10/10 would recommend and would go again. Owners and staff were super friendly and passionate and loved that they did their own rubs and marinades. Nice selection of craft beers too. We ordered loads of food and we thought overall price was very reasonable! Thanks for having us!!

I had no idea this place existed or I'd have been in sooner! Really good fresh food, with a great variety of veggie and vegan options, and clearly labelled gluten free options too. The pizza bases aren't amazing in my opinion, and the cheese on the Margarita wasn't great either, so I wouldn't recommend the pizzas. But the salads are fabulous, and I'm excited to try a few more non-pizza dishes on the menu. Sadly the decaff coffee I had was overly bitter, but they do potentially the best carrot cake I've ever had in my life - perfectly spiced and so moist 🥹🥕

Soooo tasty. I introduced my dad to avopoke while he was up visiting and he's still talking about it 6 months later. Really fresh and delicious.

Your food quality is deteriorating day by day , when I visited your shop first time I was so happy that finally I can enjoy good South Indian food at Newcastle but now I don’t feel the same after visiting 6-7 times and continuously going unsatisfied by your food , you guys should give freshly cooked food to your customers if you want to grow . I ordered Idli it was too dry and the sambhar was smelly . I was fond of your sambhar vada but this time I left the sambhar vada because it was smelly and not fresh . Really disappointed will never come back for sure.
