Na’s Bar and Galley in Southampton

Tasty food, friendly staff, great atmosphere with life music. I give 4 stars because of smoking being allowed in the outside area, which is shielded enough to create like an adjecent indoor space. The door was open to the main restaurant area, and the smoke was coming in. We had to ask for the door to be shut, which meant we (and others in the restaurant) couldn't hear and enjoy the band playing. I can't tolerate cigarette smoke, and I was surprised it was allowed. I would go to the restaurant again, but I couldn't sit in the area with life music, which is a shame.

First visit. Not the last. Food is great. Had a blast. If you haven't been, Then you really HAVE to go. Super excellent fantazmagorical.

Este lugar nos lo recomendaron y fuimos como un grupo de 4. Realmente fue genial con comida deliciosa y un gran ambiente. Teníamos el curry verde tailandés, fideos pad thai y curry massaman con una mezcla de entrantes y todos coincidieron en que la comida era simplemente encantadora. Na era un gran anfitrión y cocinero. Volveremos de nuevo muy pronto.

Food was very good, this place had raving reviews and it did not disappoint! Unfortunately the service was quite slow. I would suggest ordering takeout and picking up versus sitting in.

This place is outstanding wow. Shared a triple starter - crispy squid, crispy beef & coconut chicken. Nearly licked the plate clean! Then had Royal Massaman Lamb Curry & sticky jasmine rice.. i want to try the other stuff next time I come, but it was so good I'll probably just keep having it over and over! Also, another find! I'm not a fan of ginger beer but their special Australian ginger beer so tasty!

They have their child at the restaurant at all times, it runs full blown riots and no one says a thing.. the food is good however I couldn’t enjoy any of it because of the loud shouting, running or banging happening around me the whole time.. this being the second time.. I tried to come back for the food but that was my last attempt.

Absolutamente me encantó nuestra comida, fue la mejor comida de restaurante en años, de cualquier tipo. Mi abuela habría dicho que era soberbia, comida de ángeles. Tuvieron pollo de coco y tostadas de gambas, seguidos por King prawn pad Thai y Royal massaman cordero al curry. Fue Devine, no puede alabar lo suficiente. Volveré aquí siempre que pueda. Great atmosphere and great fresh food. Were very accommodating with my food allergies and didn’t have any problems at all, as they said pretty much any dish can be made gluten free ( which is a great indication that food is freshly prepared! ). Discovered this place by accident and will most definitely come back again

Great food, cooked fresh and so tasty. A nice limited simple menu that means you can easily taste almost quarter of it on your visit. Really nice relaxed and casual environment in an out-of-the-way place. Will definitely be back when next in Southampton.

This Thai restaurant is not easy to find but is well worth the effort. We've eaten there twice now, the first time with a friend who has a knack for finding out of the way places. The menu is not large, but everything we've tried so far was delicious and served fresh and hot straight from the kitchen, The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and unpretentious. We are determined to work our way through the menu and will be returning!

Booked a table and turned up to find out the chef was on holiday and the place was only open for drinks . Cxxxs

The food was great, really tasty could tell it was fresh, good portions too. The ambience and staff were really friendly, plus it was really reasonably priced (£60 for two mains mixed stater and a bottle of wine!). Hands down best Thai in Southampton.

I wish that I'd been a harsher critic on every other restaurant that I have ever reviewed because then you'd see how amazing Na's is. Good vibes, in a nice place with truly amazing food and prices FAR lower than I expect for such excellence. I love taking my wife for dinner and usually we cycle through our favourite places and slowly add new one's over time. Tonight however will be the first time in year where the place we are going for dinner is the same place where we last went for dinner. It's truly excellent food.

Off the beaten track but the food is superb, cool authentic little place. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the food was incredible. Best dumplins I've eaten and the lamb massaam curry was cooked perfectly.

What a wonderful hidden gem this place is. As others have stated, excellent food at a reasonable price with friendly and attentive service. Lovely atmosphere in the Thai themed bar and restaurant area helped by the fact that the place was nearly full when we arrived. I took this as a good sign. Despite it being busy we didn't feel like we were kept waiting long to place our orders or indeed to receive our food. We'll definitely be going back soon, food was delicious and the Merlot I swilled it down with was spot on.

A lovely little place. Na's is so friendly and she loves her cooking. She grinds and mixed her own spice recipes. Very clean, good atmosphere, very reasonably priced food. We had a variety of dishes and all were excellent. Best Thai food I've had in Southampton. Best to book especially weekend. We were all really happy and will be going back.

Na’s was great. Amazing secret little find. Great food and quirky vibe. Just be careful taking someone on a first date here in the dark. Driving into the industrial estate they will think you’re gonna to kill them. But then they will be pleasantly surprised with a tasty Thai menu. Could make a good story for a wedding speech.

What a great find this was,if you like Thai food this is a great restaurant. Na worked in mango tapas bar before starting out on her own. The food she makes is very tasty and authentic and surprisingly priced for the quality served. Some great authentic food served in a timely fashion even when it’s busy. Starter are 3 for £10 amazingly cheap for the quality. Then you have a good selection of main dishes including curry’s and stir fry’s. A place I always take visitors and always get good feedback from friends.

Great evening for all the family. Excellent Thai food (we have spent many months in Thailand). Lovely atmosphere and good value for money. We live in France and we were staying with my parents. Definitely, if we lived in Southampton, we would eat here often!! Oh, the service was fab too....

A hidden gem :) accidentally found this place while trying to find somewhere for dinner, turns out it was only a 10 minute walk away from us. Ordered two of the mixed starter plates which meant we could choose 6 of the small plate options, an order of the chilli pork stir fry and the banana fritters for dessert. Loved that it was a smaller menu - everything came out freshly cooked and really tasty. Barman was also friendly and helpful. 2 beers and 2 soft drinks on top it came to £55 between two of us, which we thought was fantastic. Definitely would go again!

The location is a bit unusual but I'm so glad we stumbled across this gem! We sat outside which had a lovely atmosphere. Great playlist, the staff were all very friendly and attentive, and the food was great and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning!

This has got to be the best hidden gem in the whole of Southampton, amazing Thai food that is absolutely delicious and with reasonable prices to match. I would recommend this over any other Thai in the city.

I recently went for a drink at 6:10pm (it is open at 6pm or so it says), the door was open but I was told that the bar wasn’t open yet because the cleaning was still being done. I asked how long and the reply was about 10 minutes. I left without waiting. Very disappointed as I have eaten there and the food was excellent but you need to be ready to open when you say you will as reliability is key to attract customers.

I have been here a couple of times now and I’ve never been disappointed. Really tasty food, especially the sharing starters. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I would advise booking for Friday and Saturday nights as it does get quite busy. The green Thai curry is delicious and just the right amount of spice. Everything is very reasonably priced too

Cosy place, small but nice atmosphere, with character Limited menu but very tasty food, cooked whilst you wait, and galley is visible from the bar. We would go back, but did find it off putting that a couple in the corner of the bar were playing some kind of board game, which appeared to use a lot of dice, which were loudly shaken with annoying regularity...!! May be we visited on a games night..?

A wee hidden gem in Bitterne Manor. Food is absolutely delicious, the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. This is our 3rd visit and we have been impressed every time. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, we went at lunch time. There was a one young man. I asked if I could give him my order and continue to sit outside. A At which point he was abrupt in his approach in telling me I needed to be patient. I was not rude to him and didn’t expect such abruptness. I completely understand he was working alone. All I wanted to do was give my order, get a drink and wait for my food.

Totally unplanned, I met up with my son-in-law plus grandchildren and ended up here for a totally impromptu lunch. I nearly entitled my review 'Hidden Gem' because that is exactly what it is....as several other reviews have already said! Didn't know it existed as it's tucked away in Kemps Quay - nice food, friendly staff and a lovely, laid-back 'vibe'. Definitely worth a return visit.

We popped by here on Saturday early evening as just remembered it was there. Lovely unpretentious woody interior and seats outside (covered for English weather).. We had absolutely delicious sweetcorn fritters and shared a tofu pad Thai which we enjoyed... Cple of glasses of white...

Came in on Friday, food was amazing, starter plates were really good, the waitress was so helpful and recommended some delicious dishes, food was served quickly and the atmosphere was brilliant, definitely going to to come back.

First time. Used to go to Paddle and Peel. I wanted it to be great. We booked for 7:45 on a Friday. We assumed it would be open until 10/11 like most places on the weekend (our fault for not checking). Food was served, it was good. We ordered drinks, not knowing they close at 9pm. If they said they close at 9pm we would understand. Instead, they served us (probably at 8:50) and the two girls stood folded armed staring at us for an extended period. It wasn’t until 9:20 we assumed something was not right. We asked, “are you closing soon?” The reply was, “we close at 9?!!” Then everything made sense! The next 10 minutes were incredible awkward with the owners cleaning, the staff staring whilst we rushed the drinks and the bill. It all could have be avoided if they just communicated better. Such a shame. Would love to support local businesses but as a business owner myself. Honest feedback is important. Three stars is very generous for the experience! Food was ok, experience was poor. Instead of making people feel uncomfortable, just communicate with your customers!

Visited Na’s Bar a few times now, both with friends and just as a couple. The Thai food is amazing, my personal favourite is the beef in oyster sauce with jasmine rice for only £8!! The Thai tapas are all really good too so it’s easy to get carried away. They have a reasonable selection of bottled beers in the fridge and a nice pint of Pupa on draught. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. All in all, would heartily recommend you seek this place out.

This is our favourite little hidden gem. All staff are lovely. We particularly like the pizza van coming in on Tuesday. We recently tried the Thai food and it was absolutely lovely at a very reasonable price, too!
