Nana's Pita Tastes Of Greece in Southend-on-Sea

Wow ….. amazing food, we have been looking for a Greek restaurant for a while then came across Nana’s pita and whilst the kids were busy at a party for 2hrs we popped here, we are 100% glad we did. It was spot on and just want we wanted. Pitta bread was so good and the meat so fresh. We will 100% be telling our friends and we’ll be back. Just gutted we don’t live close enough for take away. Friendly staff, clean toilets, and managed to park across the street (5.30pm) Thank you

Omg , the food here tastes just as it does when in traditional Greek eateries . Great value , very tasty , easy to order and friendly staff , what more could you want .

First time Trying this place since it opened. The whole family loved it. Authentic tasty Greek food. Had the sharing platter, great value. Lovely polite staff. Definitely our new favourite local

Lovely chicken gyros, full of flavour. Daughter had the pork souvlaki and loved it. Owner very friendly and is a true Cretan, we spoke about visits to Crete so it's nice to know we were getting authentic flavours. Would definitely be visiting again.

Eat here and feel the taste of Greek. The food is delicious 😋 The staff is very friendly also. Prices are ok.

Ordered & waited 15-20 minutes to collect a ‘Nana’s Special Pita’ & Chicken Souvlaki skewer from this nearby little local business that we’ve been looking forward to supporting…. how barely mediocre these two choices were, nothing ‘special’ about the pita & maybe 5 small pieces of chicken in the souvlaki, I’m no cook but I could’ve prepared something more appetising with the very minimal amount of ingredients that we were charged the best part of £20 for myself …. very doubtful that anything was freshly prepared as it was all stone cold…. Such a shame-afraid the first & last time we will choose to go here for takeaway or the restaurant 😟

Have been there once before food & service very good, took two friends there last evening April 20th, a different chief. they did not have the Masarker, or shandy, or lemonade., had to settle for water other than a beer, I was driveing so could not have a beer. When the food came up within a few minutes, the meat was so hard we had to leave 80% of to, also it was not hot, warm yes, not hot. Would not recommend the restaurant until the owner returns, I wanted to leave and go elsewhere, but the lady who was with us did not like to 'cause a fuss' but she did complain at the end. A very disappointing evening. Will not be going there again.

An Oasis on my doorstep - am glad to see all his hard work is beginning to pay off! Perhaps he shoud take over the shop next door!

What a lovely place, a real gem amid the hustle and bustle of London Road. It's worth going if only to smell the wonderful food haha. I had a pork and chicken wrap that was so tasty but looking around at the other diners I cant wait to visit again to try more dishes. I really can't understand why other reviewers don't give it top marks, maybe they don't appreciate authentic Greek food.

We had chicken gyros with chips, pitta and halloumi. Chips were under-seasoned and tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in a while. The chicken was average and mainly tasteless without adding lots of tsatsiki. The halloumi was fine but again, nothing amazing, For a £35 takeout, it was quite underwhelming.

This is a lovely little place, food and owner really nice. The saganaki cheese was absolutely delicious as was the chicken souvlaki will be back soon to try more of the menu.

Ordered through Just Eat for ease and as the website mentioned on the front of their leaflet from a recent door drop is not up and running to order directly. In hindsight should have phoned and collected as Just Eat added at least £3 to the price of each meal plus delivery plus service charge. We knew about this of course but when the food arrived ir definitely wasn't worth £10 a portion. For £6-7 as per the menu maybe but definitely not a £40 takeaway value. Food was OK. Chips stuffed inside the pitta bulked them out quite a bit but fairly tasty. Have definitely had better tasting and better value Greek takeaway elsewhere locally. We wanted to try and we did. Probably won't again unless we phone and collect

The owner of this restaurant was great. Made the whole experience very enjoyable. Restaurant had a lovely Greek theme which made you feel like you were almost there and the food was incredible!!! Will definitely be back. Also to top it off we got a complimentary dessert. Great time

First visit to Nana’s Pita and was a great experience. Food was amazing; felt like I was on holiday without the sunshine. Reasonably priced with lovely, friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again

Lovely Greek pita not greasy and the closest thing you’ll get to a proper gyros. Will definitely go back and will look to walk down and order a takeaway

Never had moussaka that is not topped with béchamel sauce but flatbread soaked in milk (more like bobotie). Not much aubergine and courgette in it. Village sausage wasn’t Greek (very spicy smelly) sausage but an ordinary sausage cooked with rosemary. No Greek coffee. Friendly staff...

Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff/owner. Food is excellent, portions are generous. I would like to mention the pick up/takeaway option which is one of the best presented and packed one i ever see.

We ate here on Friday Lunchtime and what a lovely surprise. As i bit into my Greek Pitta I exclaimed "ooooh its tastes like Greece" Fresh and really tasty. with Fast service and reasonable prices i cant wait to try the rest of the munu

3 Nanas special gyro in 5 days, absolutely amazing! Highly recommend, well worth a visit, nice people, also ever time I’ve visited everyone who is in there are smiling!

I watched this guy totally redo the whole place from top to bottom, looks like he did most of it alone too, everyday he was at it,then he opened and I also watched him and his Wife (?) sitting and waiting for customers, think it...

Hot, fresh, good value, tasty food. We had halloumi starters and a feta cheese parcel. Followed by the sharing platter for 2. Food was amazing and highly recommend.

Visited early evening and would thoroughly recommend. Great food, value and service. Varied menu - very much enjoyed the saganaki cheese, fried courgette balls, village sausages and Souvlaki. Looking forward to visiting again and enjoying takeaways in the future.
