I'd recommend not bothering to order online. After 90 mins I had to call, found out they hadn't processed it, and waited another hour for delivery. Shambles.

Normally a great service but can't cope on occasions and this was one. Waited 1hr 20 mi utes for a collection order. Not great, especially when I was waiting and chatting to people who ordered after me were getting theirs. And when we get home it is not hot. Hard to understand how I wait, then it is not hot. Very poor.

Super restaurant for a curry with a difference. Very friendly staff, great service and most welcoming. All our meals (six of us) were very good indeed; tasty, well cooked and to generous portions. Very happy to recommend and highly likely to return.

Johney Gurkha has become one of mine and my partner’s firm favourites. Amazing variety in the menu with always something new to try, the cobra lager is delicious. Staff always friendly, attentive and happy to recommend dishes.

Table booked 6:30. Put us on a table and wouldnt serve us drinks until we got to our actual table that loooked free all that time. 25 minutes later, sat at our actual table and angie (waitress) ignored our request for compensation with absolute distain regardless of us being regulars. Wont go back. Best service we have had in recent times is when angie wasnt working so says where the issue is!

Have not been down for a while but just had a delivery, absolutely delicious and good portions. Never get tired of this place, been eating from here for forty years and won’t go anywhere else. Superb as always.

Simply the best curry house for miles around.

This is an absolutely fantastic place for friends, family or date nights. It's always buzzing and busy and the service from Ange and her family team is fantastic and they make you feel very welcome and special. The food is incredible and it has a wide variety of perfectly cooked cuisine from classic Indian dishes to some creative and tasty Nepalese dishes if you fancy something a little different. There is a fantastic atmosphere and I certainly suggest calling and booking as they do get busy. They even have a beautiful fish tank in the restaurant which is bright and colourful. I have been here twice now and both occasions have been really special thanks to the team being so warm and brilliantly professional. If you haven't tried it, please do as it's a real gem of a restaurant and I can't praise them enough. It's my new favourite place to eat as I want to try something different on each visit. Massive 5* from me.

We had a good curry night here. The food was good and as expected. Nothing spectacular but standard fare. The restaurant is downstairs and has a very tired decor. For ref, they have draft cobra on tap.

Quality and taste has dropped, as a regular customer our most recent order was very bland and tasteless. I understand mistakes happen, so called up the restaurant and was advised we would have these taken off the bill when we next order. However when we made a subsequent order, they refused to honor the discount. Poor service, they've lot a regular customer.

Chicken tikka was a joke,chicken so obviously cooked of long before and sauce added,partner had lamb the sauce looked and tasted the same,service was slow,first and last time I visit,bitter disappointment food wise.

A very enjoyable experience. Good times to be had by all at Johney Gurkha’s 😋 🍛 🇳🇵 Food was delicious. However, lime pickle tasted odd with dried lime shells in it. Plus, the drinks were limited and from large plastic bottles. I’d really recommend the chicken 65, special rice and momos, all delectable Nepali treats. Love the fish tank too 🐠 Service was slow, but worth the wait for the gorgeous food 🤩

Excellent food and customer experience with value for money

Lovely New Year's Day meal at Johney Gurkha's. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Both our starters (chicken momo and meat choella) and main courses (pork Bhutuwa and lamb Jalfrezi) were excellent and served in a timely manner. The accompanying Keema Naan bread was the best I've ever tasted. We'll be back, thank you!

Another fabulous dinner at Namaste Johney Gurkha. Chicken tikka masala like I remember it, not overpowering and sweet like it often is now. Amazing smokey flavour and juicy. Lovely sides and an excellent madras too. Can’t wait to return.

I always enjoy the food here. It's hot, flavoursome and there's plenty of it. I'm a vegetarian and there's plenty of choice on the menu.

This is a British curry house restaurant. The staff were really nice. Food was below average. Menu is somewhat limited, with some common dishes not included. Service is pretty slow. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Quirky restaurant in a basement area with retro interior.

Very good Nepalese and Indian food in Aldershot town centre. Is actually 'underground'. Has interesting bamboo decor. Service and staff were good and food especially good. Prices ok for the quality. Will definitely go back.

Last visited about 10 years ago and this place does not disappoint. Food was good then and tastes even better now. Very tasty food, large portions and relatively low cost. I had lamb pasanda, Bhindi barji and saag aloo. Even had enough left over to take home.

This unassuming place that lets the food do the talking, so do not let the clichéd decoration fool you!! Also does take-away which we also take advantage of. Just delicious!

I've visited NJG a number of times as a late walk-in. Each time I have received a friendly welcome and been seated without delay (I have experienced it when it's been quite busy). I've enjoyed the Jimbu and Ceylon chicken dishes on more than one occasion and would recommend them if hotter dishes are your thing. I look forward to returning to NJG should I find myself staying in Aldershot in the future and I am happy to recommend it.

The food was great. Really tasty and freshly cooked. Atmosphere was a bit poor but then we were eating at 5.30pm on a Tuesday! Overall great and much better than it looks!

Good food, and appreciate that there is a level of allergen info on the menu. That said, got paneer in a dish labelled as being dairy free. Not a disaster as I could pick it out, but worth triple checking with staff if you have a serious allergy.

A little hard to find, but very well regarded in Aldershot as when we asked someone for directions they knew immediately where to send us. The food was great and reasonably priced. To be honest the only down side was the upstairs entryway made it look a little like a hole in the wall type place, could do with some decoration to let people know that this is the right place sand to be a little more enticing.

Hidden gem, easily as good as much more expensive Gurkha restaurants. Chef specials were great, as were the momos! Attentive and friendly staff.

How can I say this? I've lived in Aldershot for most of my life and I'd never been to Johnny Gurkas. Tonight I did and it didn't disappoint. Friendly service, awesome food and amazing atmosphere. To be honest, ten out of ten isn't high enough. If I could, I would give it higher.
