This is a very simple cafe-style place - but the food is delicious and at really reasonable prices. Everything arrives quickly and the service is friendly and efficient. Really recommend trying the Filipino dishes! Perfect for a tasty, speedy lunch if you're in the area.

When I walked in the restaurant was empty. My initial thoughts was, 'oh dear'. However I was so wonderfully surprised. I would rate the food higher than any other in the same category of cuisine. It was so inexpensive that I wasn't really expecting much, but the infusion of flavour I experienced was outstanding. Small restaurants like this are often forgotten about because it's not on the main strip, but I would recommend beyond expectation how great this little place is. To top it all off the staff were so friendly and attentive, when they didn't have to be. Served with a smile and in my opinion that's a skill that is too often lost. Try it, I'm sure you'll be surprised also.

Really disappointed with the sashimi and salmon box I received. The sashimi is dried up and definitely not fresh. it is nothing like the pictures online. it's all shrivelled up! I can't understand how they thought sending it out to customers was acceptable. It's a total joke. I've had a lot of Sushi in the past and this is BY FAR the worst I've ever had. Reading the reviews, no doubt the restaurant will blame the JustEat driver! Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Zero stars if I could.

love Nagawa and order often - always a bit inconsistent with ingredients though; this time the ramen had no egg (sad flatmate as a result, it's his favourite bit :( ) whereas it has in the past, and the adobo did have an egg when it usually doesn't - seems little things vary everytime you order but really tasty

I've been going here for a couple of months with both friends and family, honestly my go-to place and I love the staff here. I'm a regular customer and I have the biggest love for the katsu curry here, It has become like comfort food haha :) My favorite food here is the katsu (of course) , the spring rolls, the Onigiri (!!! Must try at least once) and the ramen. Another add on is that the price is also good too, I always come out of this place super full and very happy so the price is worth it. Would recommend over and over <3

If I could give zero stars I would🤔 After reading their reviews we thought this would be something different to eat in Southend 🤔 Well!!! Four of us arrived at 5pm to a empty restaurant, we weren't shown to a table, sat where we wanted to. The menu doesn't look like the pictures. Food was tepid and underwhelming. Katsu chicken looked like Birds Eye crispy chicken breast that was freezer burnt. Sticky rice was more than sticky. Noodles were bland & salmon was crunchy and tasteless. All heated up in the microwave 😲Overall the food was pants. The waiter was very dull, when we complained over our £66 bill he just stood there nodding in agreement (no other staff were present) we left £40 cash on the table. The alcohol and the waiter's time was worth a tenner a head. Not a great experience 😕 go to Nandos instead 🤣🤣

Food was absolutely banging, as always. Love their beef don buri! Delivery was really late though. Called the restaurant and they said there wasn't anything they could do as the driver hadn't turned up. I think like they must have made a fresh batch though as it was perfect when it arrived.

I love the food in this restaurant, they also do take away, so you never get to miss the food If your not out that night, the food and staff is equally amazing, me and family went there and had a lovely meal they do different types of food I especially love the Filipino dishes, all round great place to eat and unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. Keep up the good work guys.

Delivery time kept moving out. But worst of all was the food. S&S chicken had 3 bits of chicken in and was 95% rice. Chicken Teriyaki was greasy and the chicken had fat on the top. The edamame beans had been peeled - not what was in the picture. The duck roll was ok. All in all, a waste of money considering this came in at £40+. Will not be ordering again.

Owner of Nagawa. Change the timetable online. I came to eat and you were closing already. Why it says open till 2100? You closed at 2000 today. Why I came all the way to eat there? I could go somewhere else. Food and servers are great.

Great food but make sure you order 1.5 hours minimum before it want it! Always very very slow delivery which is a shame. This time was around 45 mins late.

Lovely food, really tasty and great to be able to get this in Southend. The menu could do with some clarifications on the bento boxes as to which items are vegetarian, but other than that everything was great.

It took 2 hours to get 4 roads from the restaurant, the restaurant is always wonderful and I will definitely be back but never using just eat.

Try the Filipino menu! The sisig is amazing!

poor quality sushi. the rolls were cut awfully and the rice is warm? in turn making the fish warm. also, the fish used for the sushi is of a horrible quality and portion sizes are questionable.

nagawa is always my last resort for sushi. their fish is of a poor quality, and their cutting of the rolls is awful. today i ordered a large platter (chefs choice) which appears to be the same size as a medium platter. the large roll had a questionable, fatty kind of fish inside and was WARM, and a few pieces had a strange sweaty taste to them. a smaller roll had an oily kind of fish on it, which was very strong and also WARM. the final sushi i got in this box was prawn, which was mainly alright aside from the fact that it was also warm. i also got the salmon box, where i had 8 salmon avocado rolls, which are also warm with a similar sweaty taste, and 4 pieces of salmon nigiri, most of which the fish have fat or skin on. warm sushi is DANGEROUS and the prices do not reflect the quality of what i'm receiving. i order from here hoping the quality will improve but it never does.

Today (20th August, 2023), I visited Nagawa to take my love for the Japanese language learning to the next level. Gohan wa totemo ooishii deshita. From today onwards, I will follow the "thanking food principle" ITADAKIMASU AND GOCHISOUSAMADESHITA before and after (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) every meal every day.

Absolutely delicious donburi beef and a good sized portion (although my ratio of meat to rice was better than my husband's!).

Literally just left here and I had to write a review, the food is unbelievable, we had about 6 dishes between my wife and I including the recommded by the chef , Filipino pork belly, wow literally the nest pork belly I've had. We also had sushi which was lovely alomg with noodles, chicken wings, and a beef dish I cannot recall the name off, also a Filipino beer which I've never had which was also very good. Highly recommended this place, great value for money and a nice change other usual type of places we have In Southend.

The order wasn’t delivered and I had to placed the same order twice through Uber Eats again and paid twice. Can I please get a compensation for the order placed on Just Eat?

Prawn tempura wasn’t actually tempura it was breaded, and very small portion for the price. Also sushi platter for 2 was 4 pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll, so not a massive variety. The takoyaki was really nice! The nigiri we did have was nice.

This isn't an easy review to write and the number of stars given do not reflect the full position. Firstly the positives - the food was lovely and delivered more or less on time and this is accurately reflected in the star rating. As for the negatives, and it's a big one, one of the main courses was missing. Well, mistakes happen in any walk of life but the important thing is how they are redressed. I rang the establishment and they immediately offered a refund for the missing item which is another positive but sadly not the resolution we were looking for. You see, we'd both had demanding days and were really looking to relaxing over a nice meal and a glass of wine. Sadly we were both to be disappointed as, with the missing item, there wasn't enough food for the two of us and there wasn't anything in the house that would go with what we had. I pleaded for the missing item to be delivered separately but the establishment wouldn't agree. It wouldn't therefore be an exaggeration to say that this incident spoilt our enjoyment of the meal. To be fair, we have ordered from them several times previously and they have been fine and this has never happened before either in hundreds of orders we've placed with Just Eat over the years. Hopefully it is a one off and Nagawa don't upset many more of their regular customers as no business of any type can afford to do this. After all, big businesses such as airlines and international hotel groups invest heavily in customer service for good reason and and many successful small establishments do the same.

This restaurant opened not so long ago in Southend. I have been in this place only one but my first impression was good. This restaurant provides a big menu with anything you would like from Asian cuisine. The portions are big and really filling. Food prepared quickly. Service was good. The atmosphere was there but was a little bit shaken by peeling paint and overall old look. Overall, this place left a good impression, good food, big portions, and quick service. Great job!

Raman is terrible noodles over cooked and the broth has no flavour

Thoroughly enjoyed a lunch here. The salmon bento box was tasty and very filling. Am really looking forward to my next visit. So many interesting dishes to try out.

Great tasting food with Filipino dishes. Though we haven't tried their Filipino menu. I always enjoy their chicken teriyaki (crispy skin) chicken karaage and gyoza. My husband also loves their beef donburi and sushi selection. Highly recommended

Expecting more for the price tag. Also ordered the tempura prawn ramen which their menu specifically says is served seperate, but arrived left in the ramen meaning that there was no texture or crunch to the frying at all and it was just soggy. Also fairly bland tasting stock. Pretty disappointing for what is meant to be a £15 dish. I'll be willing to give a try again in person but not one I'll order for delivery again.

Delivery was fast and everything was hot and well packaged but I was sent mackerel sashimi instead of nigiri, the ramen was tasty but oily and the takoyaki were undercooked and the octopus in them was so chewy. I won't be rushing back sadly.

I have had a few different meals here - the sandwich wraps, goyza, teriyaki rice, and donburi bowl and I've really enjoyed all of them. Really fresh, good price and friendly staff. Its a bit sparse in there,but they feature art by (I assume) local artists which is nice!

It took 1 hour 25 mins for a Katsu Curry on a Monday night. Ridiculous. Food was tepid and not very good.

Had a really bad time here food was not good and I found the staff was very rude especially the manger.

Must admit, was in southend, wife saw they did sushi and had a craving so we went in, really not expecting much. But really liked it! Bit of an eclectic menu, but means there is something for everyone. And while the sushi wasnt the best in the world, it was pretty good, especially for the price, which was surprisingly low. I'm actively planning on going back while I'm in the area because I want to try the phillipino breakfast. If you are in town and want lunch, well worth checking this place out.

The food came out piping hot and had a lovely flavour, this is a really nice restaurant. The Ramen was a bit different to what I would have expected but still tasty.

Once it got to the estimated delivery time, it just kept going up and up until it would be another hour. When it arrived, it wasn't packaged properly, so at least half of the ramen leaked onto the vegetable spring rolls, making my vegetarian partner unable to eat at least 3 quarters of them. Also, the nigiri looked like it had been shaken up. Massive shame since i love the food here, and this is the first time it's ever been like this
