MyUmami in Haringey

This is way more than just Sushi. We love the local neighbourhood atmosphere and decor - reminding us of Japan. We always have the Duck Salad with crispy noodles and Tempura veggies. A great range of creative Sushi choices made to order. The Dumplings are great. (We always order a rice bowl as well as the rice is so good.) Lots of specials so do read them. My daughters ordered deserts last time -all very good and interesting. And we think it is indeed value for money compared with a very good local Sushi place. Do reserve as can be busy.

Ordered across the menu...the tastes, textures, flavours are exquisite. Loved the experience. Among the many superb dishes, please try yellowtail ceviche Peruvian/Japan style; beef on skewers, sweet aubergine cubes; agedashi tofu in broth....A lovely 'neighbourhood' vibe, not pretentious, and slightly chaotic service adds to its charm! RECOMMENDED

Food was good but service poor and overwhelmed when they were busy and basically told us not to order dessert since had people waiting due to time mismanagement from their part. Need to get their management of bookings sorted out in order to keep their customers. P

Good to have a decent Japanese open in the area after thge excellent Yama Yama failed to survive Covid. This one is good too, a little expensive, ran out of sake (!) but it was their first week so some chaos to be expected. The food was good. We'll go back when they've bedded in.

Family trip to new local Japanese restaurant in East Finchley. Wonderful to have place of this quality so close. The ox cheek dumpling special was amazing, the vegetables beautifully prepared and the sushi was a level above what you can normally find. The atmosphere was friendly and we will definitely be back. Food worth travelling for but delighted not to have to.

Found this lovely little restaurant by chance. Excellent Japanese food served by our charming waitress Elke. Highly recommend

Can here with family last night. Good quality and tasty food. Service caring that you have a good experience and responsive. Nice atmosphere.

Honestly the food was excellent - each and every dish. At last some really good tasty food near Muswell Hill. The Aubergine miso and pistachio was great, as were the baby squid. The duck and crispy noodle salad was lovely. All the fish dishes were excellent - there were 5 of us so we got to taste a lot.

We visited MyUmami in East Finchley for a relaxed Sunday evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and everything we tried was delicious. We had some terrific karaage fried chicken, a splendid sushi sharing platter and some absolutely gorgeous miso aubergine. The menu here has a myriad of things to suit sushi fans but also plenty to please meaties and veggies so it makes for a great place to bring friends or family. Not a huge place though so I would advise booking at busy times. I can't comment on the 'is it authentic' question as I have never been to Japan - but I can say that this was the best Japanese food that I have ever eaten. There is also a wide choice of drinks at very fair prices. Highly recommended.

The food here is off the scale. The langoustines are incredible. The calamari is like a whole new level. The sushi and sashimi are awesome. The wine list is also brilliant. You’re missing out if you don’t go and I can’t wait to go back.
