Excellent service, lovely manager really took care of us. Manually made me a coffee as the coffe machine had broke. Will defo come again. Their food is also reasonably priced.

Had to give 1 star to leave review but as previous reviews there was no welcoming staff no smile, very miserable looking staff we ordered a full English and 2 desi breakfast. Parathas looked old and stale, masala beans old and so was the chana masala. Then to top it all up we found a hair I'm between the parathas which was disgusting and felt sick. I took the plate to the staff she apologised and took it inside and that was it... Never going back there again Need to work on customer service and food hygiene

I came here on a Wednesday night around 8pm and the service was perfect the boy at the till was so respectful and helped us decide our order the atmosphere was mood lightening and the service was one of the best ive had in a while overall this place is a 10/10 overall experience for me and my friend that i came with. Will come again and those waffles are to die for!

Ordered the desi breakfast which was delicious. The service was poor. They serve a variety of hot drinks here but don't supply sugar/sweetner packets. The cappuccino was severly lacking in depth and flavour. We went for breakfast and was the only people there but they were blasting music like as if it was a nightclub.

Food was great, came pretty quick, hot, big portions. We also had a cappuccino and karaoke chai. Karak chai tasted great, but the cappuccino tasted watered down, like those sachets. We had to ask for sugar and was given sugar with an old spoon and bits in it. We weren't given cutlery. And the lady at the till seemed like we were an inconvenience for her. Didn't feel welcoming. Music was loud. But the food itself was great. Service, not so much. Oh and the bathroom was disgusting with no hand soap and nothing to dry your hands with.

Lots of yummy fusion food, a bit overpriced but great option opposite Sainsbury's where you can leave the cat for free.

I had been eagerly looking forward to my visit to the Karak Chai Oldham branch after hearing great reviews about the chain, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing—largely due to poor customer service. To be fair, it was my mistake not to check the opening hours before arriving. However, since the place advertises itself as an ‘all day breakfast’ spot, I expected it to be open early in the morning—especially during traditional breakfast hours. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and decided to wait outside until they opened. While waiting, we couldn’t help but notice the uninviting entrance. The door looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or painted in a long time, which made us second-guess our decision to have breakfast there. We could see the staff working inside, so it was frustrating when they didn’t open the door even three minutes after their advertised opening time of 9:00 AM, despite clearly seeing customers waiting outside. When the staff member finally did open the door, there was no greeting, no smile, and not even a simple “good morning.” Her demeanor made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Despite this, we decided to overlook the initial rudeness because the indoor decor and ambiance were quite nice and aesthetically pleasing. However, when I went to place my order, the same staff member seemed more interested in writing a grocery list than acknowledging my presence. She didn’t acknowledge me until she was done, which made me feel quite unwelcome. The final straw came when I asked for the weekend breakfast, and it wasn’t available. She didn’t bother offering any alternatives or making any effort to improve the situation. At that point, the mood was completely spoiled, and we decided to leave and go to Chaiiwala, which was just a couple of minutes away. It’s disappointing because Karak Chai lost a customer purely due to the lack of friendly and communicative staff. I would have been willing to try other items on the menu if the staff had been welcoming and accommodating, but that wasn’t the case. I won’t be returning here, which is unfortunate given the potential of the place.

We ordered two full English breakfast’s, which are delicious. The service is good, checked to see if the food was alright and polite staff. I would definitely give it a try especially if you like spicy food too.

2nd time come after 1 yr .The parents wasn't homemade like the assistant said more like frozen and warmed up.The ommlette wasn't good burnt on one side .I didn't enjoy today's breakfast 😕. Sorry won't be going anytime soon Again.

We ordered Naan Chana and Halwa Puri for breakfast. We were bitterly disappointed by the quality of the food. Puri were by far the worst we had anywhere in the UK. We requested them that they are not good, they cooked us new and they were equally bad. This shows that they do not know how to cook proper puris. Naan were not freshly baked and were microwaved. Channay was good but the rest of the food was very bad. Service level was below average. Poor experience overall and certainly do not suggest to you.

Absolutely loved the breakfast the staff were really helpful especially liaba she made sure we had our drinks and food at the same time. The French toast was delicious would recommend to anyone

Had the best experience in karak chai the staff were really helpful and welcoming the deserts are to die for especially the san Sebastian cheesecake.

The food is good - the desserts are better than their savoury offerings - but was very disappointed that they do not offer free tap water on request. That's the first time I've ever been in a restaurant/cafe with my tap water request refused - had to spend £1.50 on bottled water. It's not legally required if they don't serve alcohol, but c'mon - how much does it cost you?

Ordered from here, there was 3 whole flies at the top of my orange juice. I’m gobsmacked. I called up and the guys saying how is that possible must have been from my head. Again absolutely gobsmacked.

I ordered fresh orange juice for nearly £5 and they both come with flies in them! I called up the restaurant and hes trying to blame me saying ‘how did they get in there’ , when they came sealed and everything with them in.

There were FLIES in the drinks and the restaurants response to this issue was so rude . Absolutely disgusting. Will never order from here again !!!

If I could give a minus review I would. Sadly this is the lowest mark I could give. The cutlery was dirty. The manager Sam should not be in a customer facing role. The place was dirty and flies were everywhere. Sam’s attitude was the worst I have ever seen anywhere. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.

This place had a lot of great options. The only downside was parking. Thank you to the brother who gave us a huge slice of San sabastian cake. It was definitely not a normal slice and it tasted amazing!

Waited for over 40 minutes for food to arrive and ordered only an omelette and that tasted off and the venue had a smell of mould. I am not sure how some people are rating 5 stars.

I recently visited My Karak Chai for breakfast with my family and I must say it was an absolute delight! The desi breakfast was delicious, the french toast was outrageously tasty, the keema toastie was on point, and the karak chai was a sweet delight that left me craving for more. Absolutely love this place! The staff, mainly Sam, are absolutely fantastic! So friendly & helpful, all the time! I’m glad a regular customer so know that the staff always go above & beyond making the food, and serving the food. The interior is beautiful, so aesthetic and overall a very good hidden gem in Oldham. Will deffo be coming again!

Such a horrible experience, we order cheesy chips but there is no cheese on it, parathas burnt n cold.. Omlet dy charge for fully loaded but it's not just onion, we order Saag such a bad taste like it's not fresh. Karak chai never had such kind of tea, no taste just water, beef burger we thought Gonaa b tender and juicy but again no taste just waste of money n time, not Gona come again.Woman at the till ignorant n moody, why u work then if u can't smile for ur customers, manager r owner should look upon these type of workers,

Never eating at this place again. Worst experience to dine in. My family have been food poisoned because of their lack of security on how they prepare their food. Paratas were burnt. Beef burgers was not cooked properly, and had gotten all the order wrong. This has really put me off and I am quite disappointed by this poor service. Workers are very ignorant and don't seem to have care for their customers.

Been here today and it has seriously put me off going here again the guy at the till is ignorant and acts like he has been forced too come too work. Told him numerous of times too make sure the food is warm (as previously the food has been cold) it came out cold and like it had been sat on the worktop for a few hours!! the service is appalling as the food is just chucked at us and the waitress are nowhere too be seen. The manager needs too give his workers a head wobble and make sure the service is bang on and the food is pipping hot.! Or else they will loose alot off customers!!

Had a lovely meal with the family and kids, the restaurant was pretty and spacious. Service was quick and friendly and the food was really nice. All the food we got was nice, from the aloo pranta, desi breakfast, English breakfast and halwa Puri.

Today I went to karak chai and I ordered a samosa chaat and full English breakfast The chaat was absolutely disgusting The worst chaat I ever tested This place is run by kids no customer service whatsoever and the quality of food is no good. I have been a couple of times and every time I go I get disappointed. I think today was my last try

We visited Oldham today. Wandered around looking for somewhere to eat. We were told to go karak chai by the security guard in the supermarket. Beautiful place. We walked in and automatically started dancing, the music was lovely and really cheered up our miserable morning. I was with a group of 4 people. We had breakfast at around 9:00. I tried the halwa puri and it was delicious. My colleague had toast and halal sausage (chicken sausage). Lovely hot drinks. I bought a cappuccino with cinnamon syrup. The lady behind the counter was lovely, very kind and patient with us. All 4 of us would visit again.

Came back here after ramadan and i wasn't dissapointed- the home made tandoori grilled chicken on chips was absolutely amazing and i guess its my new favourite dish!! Will be back here tomorrow for more!!!!

I ordered their food from deliveroo. Not every item they mention is available and they do not update them on deliveroo. Only after ordering the food, they call the person and ask to cancel the unavailable items, which is really a big hassle. The lady manager “Sam” is very rude to customers. The shop owner is not very helpful in solving the problem too and just trying to defend his rude staff. I’ve had a very bad experience with them. Do not order food from them!

Went in today for Mother’s day and it was very busy, was told there would be a 45 minute wait but this actually turned into a 1.5 hour wait at least if not more, management need to hire more staff & chefs on weekends & occasions as not fair on the staff as they cannot be everywhere at once, lady at the front is sooo sweet and polite but again it’s not her fault & she was trying her best & kept apologising. Lady from the back (possibly cook/manager) was aggressively trying to turn the phone off as it was ringing which doesn’t give a very good impression. After waiting ages for the food, it was just not nice at all, the nihari was not coming off the bone & the puris were cold and tasted horrible so didn’t enjoy the halwa or chanas as nothing else to eat them with, got the omelette wrap, paratha was ok but the omelette was quite plain, the donuts were nice and so was the karak chai. The first time we came, the food was amazing, the last time we came, it was not that good but we thought we would give it another try today as it’s local but wont be coming back again unfortunately as for the price we paid and the time we waited, the quality of the food did not impress at all. Only giving 3 stars due to the lovely lady at the front & the gentleman who came towards the end who was also very polite.

Came in at around 11, it’s Mother’s Day so I understand can get busy, but as a business it’s staff responsibility to make sure they’re able to handle this. I did call before hand to make sure I’m able to get a booking but no one answered the phone. There’s around 8 of us so we needed a bigger table and had to wait around 15 minutes for it. Including elderly adults and young children. We got the table and ordered straight away. The phone rang at the till and the lady angrily switched off the phone. This is why I couldn’t call. The lady said it’ll take about 30-40 mins as it’s busy so I said okay. 40 mins passed and then went to an hour. Went to the staff and he said there’s a couple of more orders infront of you, so it’ll be out soon. 1 hour wait for breakfast? There was literally only 2 staff at the front. If you’re unable to handle it, as a business it is solely your responsibility to make sure you have enough staff in the kitchen, at the front who are hands on and quickly manage everything. Not serve table by table and make everyone wait. The food I can’t complain about but the service is just really really slow. Hire more staff who are quick and efficient. After an hour we were so close for asking for money back and walking out. It’s ridiculous.

Had a great service from a lady called Asma. She’s been amazing. I would definitely recommend the only thing is it’s toooooo cold in there.

Poor customer service and tasteless food.

Food was OK however Chaiwalla is much better. The restaurant isn't very clean which put me off. The menus were sticky and dirty as well as the chairs/booths. I rang to order a takeaway few days ago, staff member was quite rude on the phone maybe needs to go on a customer service training programme if you ask me, to top that and they had no karak chai, which was quite shocking. Don't think il bother ordering from here again.

Couldn't fault the service the guys were really friendly and attentive to all customers. The food was nice the only down side was that all the smoke from the kitchen was coming into the dining area which made it really smokey.

First time I took my daughter for breakfast. Ordered the apna breakfast. We couldn’t finish it all so asked for it to be packed up. We got home within the hour and when I took the daal out to warm it had gone off and smelt awful!! Very disappointed with Karak Chai for feeding their customers food like this considering how much you pay for it! Doubt il be returning or recommending the place to anyone

That place is really dirty, i sat on the table where only one spoon left in the some dirty holder and table was all stained, window was very dirty as well i asked for tissue so they did not even had tissue, i was given blue roll. Also they gave me plastic tea spoon.. It’s a shame really.

The interior is very nice but the food taste is not as good as expected. I tried Desi nasta and almost all indo-pak dishes but literally I don't like the taste of any single dish. Customer service is very good, I have to improve the food quality. Hopefully I will visit again.

This place was recommended by a friend and I was told it was better than a place I recommend. I went to day and was greatly disappointed in the food. I ordered a breakfast very appealing 2 parantas along with omlette and beans was looking forward to it as friend had got my hopes up high. The parantaa was under cooked. The beans never arrived instead I was graced with daal and the best of all the achar was onions dipped in achar oil like come one. Wouldn’t recommenced the food the breakfast to anyone. But it you want a cup of tea and a nice atmosphere then go for it.

We came today for the first time and was v comprehensive to come and try it BUT i was WRONG the place is amazing!!! the staff was so good Asmaa who served us convinced me intotrying katak chai and i couldn't believe how i never tried it before if it wasn’t fo Asmaa in Oldham i wouldnt have tried it. Thankyou once again and you have a regular customer now .

Food was okay when it finally came out after 40 minutes. I understand it can get busy but the staff should mention it at the till that there is a wait on food, we would have ate elsewhere. Service was slow and all over the place. Could do with having table numbers, saw staff bringing out food and asking tables if this is what they had ordered as they had forgot who’s table had ordered what. No cutlery when food came to us after a long wait already, we had to get up and ask and we got given dirty cutlery 😭. Had to ask again to get clean ones. Real let down on the service side. The decor is nice and it is spacious inside.

This was my first visit to Karak Chai. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food took around 30 minutes to arrive, freshly cooked. It looked and tasted delicious. Next time I'm in Oldham I will try something else on the menu. I would, and have recommended Karak Chai 🙂
