Called in for a drink while visiting the town. Ideal position in town.

On 07/09/24, My sister & I called into Murphys Bar & Restaurant in Downpatrick for dinner. When we arrived, a member of staff, showed us to our table & showed us the menu. We also ordered a drink each & then gave the waiter our order. The service was very quick & we didn't have to wait for long till we were seated. Murphys Bar & Restaurant is in Market Street in Downpatrick & is easy to find. It's well worth a visit if you're out for the day in Downpatrick & are thinking of getting some lunch or dinner. Perfect as we were able to have our dog with us

Absolutely fabulous place for a family get together as we were allowed to have our dog with us. Granted she sat quietly under our table but just having her with us made our night perfect

Went here with a bus load of people had lovely food, service was great. My mum had left her ring behind and it was kindly handly in, such wonderful honest staff. Thank you very much.

Decent enough meal but pints were lukewarm and just ruined the experience. Terrible range of lager on tap. None of the lads enjoyed their pints unfortunately and considering the price of them too, we won’t be returning.

Fantastic little bar/ restaurant in Downpatrick, place was busy with people and drinking, lovely atmosphere and the bar staff very friendly, you can't asked for more that that.

A fantastic and very filling meal. The cod is very delicious and the vegetables are very fresh. 100% recommended.

Great pub. We didn't have food, but we did see what others were getting and it looked incredible (hamburgers I wouldn't be able to finish, for example!) friendly staff. Not overly expensive. Best pub in Downpatrick.

In a pub in a small town that didn't even look like it was open from the outside. However, there is a lot of atmosphere inside and the food is quite good and well priced.

Fantastic, came in the day after boxing day, six of us. I had the Family over staying with me for Christmas. As usual Fantastic service, Fantastic food, everyone very happy and full up. Great to see Murphys up and running again 👍

Gorgeous food in a lovely atmosphere, I love this place!

Me and the wife are very disappointed. We were out for Sunday lunch with the wee boy, and he was carrying his daddy’s pint over to the table for him. The bouncer kicked my son out and wouldn’t let him back in to get the car keys so he stood outside for an hour and a half waiting for us to finish poor fella. The bouncer said “No ID no entry”, I showed him his passport and he still wouldn’t let him in

Food was clean rotten, only good thing about it is that a whole steak is smaller than your hand. Chairs and tables felt as if they were from the bottom of the sea in the 16th century and staff salted my dish with dandruff instead of salt

Attended a 21st birthday party here on Saturday night. We arrived arround 8:30pm and, as usual the bar & restaurant was very lively. The birthday party was in a separate function room out to the rear of the establishment. The room was very well equipped with all the modern gadgets including photo set ..The food was self service & there was an excellent variety of food on hand ,which was routinely topped up for the period set aside. The music & entertainment suited the occasion & everyone in attendance throughly enjoyed well managed event. The bar staff were kept very busy, & managed to keep all of the waiting customers visit for drinks to as brief as possible. All in all a wonderful night's experience and once again a real success for the management and staff of this very popular traditional Irish bar & restaurant.. The friendly atmosphere & entertainment here is spot on & I would struggle to suggest changing anything. So top marks for a great night's craic.👏👏💚😎☘️👍

We had a wonderful meal, there was something for everyone on the menu and it was very reasonably priced. The service was fantastic. They were friendly and very accommodating. It was wonderful to feel so welcome. It is located across from the Saint Patrick Centre, so it is Easy to find. We will definitely be back again.

Went here for a leaving do! Hadn't booked but they were able to accommodate us! Service was excellent very attentive. Ordered the honey chilli chicken with garlic chips. Absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be back 👍

Very nice staff but couldn't eat the chicken burger at all. I think it was the batter that was terrible but I'm not sure. The chicken wings where ok

St Patricks day food scam. Over priced terrible food especially the burgers. Could have made them blindly. So dry and lack of ingredients. Couple of undercooked chips thrown on.

Had goat cheese starter..4 tiny balls of cheese on a bit of carrot..then the burger looked the part but apart from the melted cheese it was burnt..didn't take it back as was too hungry..on a positive note the waitresses were nice and helpful

Great really enjoyed my visit

Really disappointed. Came here for lunch we sat for 10-15 mins and had to request a menu. Then I ordered the "special" steak sandwich which was literally 1 slice of ciabatta with some meet on it. No sauce no salad no anything.. it was essentially half and sandwich can't believe they charge £14.95 for that! You'd get better at Subway no joke.
