Munchies Takeaway and Cafe in Pembrokeshire

Munchies Cafe on a wet Wednesday morning was perfect for a snack and a cup of tea, a traditional English Cafe it was fabulous, service with a jolly attitude, kept clean between folks using tables, all round perfect cafe.

Having eaten here before and knowing I’d be in the area, I’d planned on having a nice fry-up breakfast here. Unfortunately having headed there at 09:00 I found the cafe to be closed - opening at 09:30 - fair enough, but slightly surprising given how “breakfasty cafe” type-of-place it appears to be. I therefore went for a walk, returning later.Service was plesant, with a courteous smile and relaxed. The kitchen and serving/till staff in fact talked constantly to eachother and, with the radio playing, it felt like I was in their kitchen! Personally I have no problem at all with this - it just feels homely, cafe-ish and chilled, but some may moan.My only frustration is that the menu clearly states that you cannot swap breakfast items. So, rather than be “that awkward customer”, I simply asked for my breakfast without certain items, hoping they’d offer me something instead. They didn’t, and I was charged full price as I ordered at the counter.Nevermind I thought, maybe they’ll throw an extra something on my plate - they didn’t. Given that for most of my visit, I was the only customer in the cafe (some came in later), staff were clearly not rushed, nor would they be seen to be making an exception to their “no swaps” rule. Still, rules is rules and I got what I ordered.The food was lovely, cooked perfectly and fresh. Another thing they make clear on the menu is that food is cooked to order, so there’s a slight delay on it, but as a fried breakfast connoisseur, I can tell you that it’s worth it.So all in all, very nearly excellent - just need the customer’s wants to be as important as making life efficient for the staff.Definitely recommend.

I visited Munchies yesterday on the recommendation of family members. We had a breakfast and it was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and loads of it. The restaurant was very busy, lots of people stopping off for a cup of tea and lots having meals. All looked lovely. I will definitely return next time I am in Haverfordwest.

The building gives a rather depressing impression - but, as one of the few cafes in Haverfordwest, we gave it a try. The service was good and the coffee better than average

We popped in to order a salad each as it was a hot day.The food supplied came with chopped up cucumber, tomatoes,etc and cheap meatswhich for £6.30 each were more suitable for kids than adults.The toilet up two flights of stairs was a total mess which would be shut down by any health inspection.The seats and tables all crammed in tight so not a disabled friendly place.

Spoilt for choice on size of breakfast, I went for the monster munch... was the best in Pembrokeshire by far.. Lovely little cafe, lovely staff. Well worth a visit.

Became carrying out numerous operations within Haverfordwest and whipped into Munchies. The ambience seemed impressive along with the nosh. I would enthusiastically advise paying a visit.

Popped into Munchies for a coffee and a sit down, after smelling and seeing the breakfast, my partner and I decided to try one......it was ”bleedy ansome” (lovely-as we say in Cornwall). Recommend to all who are near for good service and great food.

I came in to try the breakfast ('big' size); excellent value and enjoyable. The sausage was fine but basic and a fresh tomato would have been better for my taste than the tinned ones - but value for money it was great. Friendly staff who were very helpful to me and others. I look forward to going again.

Popped in here for a quick breakfast, I had their ‘big munch’. It was huge! Well cooked, served quickly and delicious. Highly recommended!

Terrible value for money food taste nasty and cooked poorly I will never be going again and would tell everyone to stay well away, I’ve had a bad belly and a disgusting taste in my mouth all day, I don’t believe the ratings online absolutely disgusting

Well a wonderful breakfast enjoyed it very filling. Pam runs a great cafe, keeps her regulars. Worth a visit highly recommended love the Welsh dragon. Great menu variety. Toilet facilities warm and friendly in my book is always a must.

Good food, large portion sizes. Tad pricey but the portions make up for it. Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere.

Have visited Munchies before and my husband loves their monster munch all day breakfast. Today he again had his breakfast and enjoyed every mouthful. Freshly cooked, eggs done just how he likes them and certainly fills him up until teatime. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Service with a smile and the coffee is great too.

Great portion sizes and food is fairly priced with that in consideration. Staff are lovely, and seem happy at work. Food was nice and fresh, very pleased with this cafe. Will definitely visit again.

Me, my mother and sister went there for lunch and we was greeted good and we sat down and looked at the menu and thought that for a cafe it was a bit expensive and there are certain things I do not like on a breakfast and wished to changed things but when I went to order was not allowed which I found quite strange as you normally can at a cafe, The food come out hot and the portions size was average did not like the small French fries served with my meal and my mother’s egg was over cooked

Omg what fantastic food and service in this cafe.lovely cooked breakfast we all tried different sizes. It was proper home cooked non greasy food. Great portion sizes super helpful and friendly staff too and great prices.cgeaper than spoons and 100% better.have been back several times since we discovered this gem a few weeks ago.

I go to munchies most Saturdays for breakfast with my family. The staff are so happy and friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The food is fantastic and I highly recommend this cafe.

I've been here quite a few times. The breakfast is great. And really reasonably priced too. Very accommodating staff. They were really helpful and managed to squeeze us in even with the two kids and the pushchair. We will be back again soon

Couldn't be set in a better position right on the river in haverfordwest. The staff are helpful courtious and always smiling. Food is as good as you would expect it to be and prices competitive with similar establishments. My only gripe is I put weight on !!! In short great staff get food fair pricing well done ladies bang on

Back on holiday in Pembrokeshire staying in the Bluestone resort we stopped in Munchies and once again had a great late breakfast after our lazy lie in. Thanks to Pam & the team for the warm welcome (P.s. cheaper than breakfast in Bluestone!)

What a great find! The breakfast was quality and very tasty. The staff made you feel welcome and comfortable in order that we could enjoy what was a great plate of food. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back!!

Hi recently visited this lovely cafe. The food was cooked fresh for us and the quality of ingredients used were top quality. Would highly reccomend to anybody looking for a quality meal at an affordable price in Haverfordwest.

Food was awful.. I ordered a breakfast pile was swimming in grease.. it was all awful cheap sausages cold bacon . Just not nice.my granddaughter had burger and chips the roll was stale and burger was so thin it had been over cooked and like a frisby.. best part was a lovely coffee,. I hate writing a bad review but was so disappointed. .

We visited this week for breakfast and not disappointed, really lovely freshly cooked food and a coffee that would leave other coffee houses in the dust.

This little café is a gem. It is tucked away down a little alley. We were greeted by very pleasant staff who put us under no pressure to order immediately and who then served us a very tasty lunch. No wonder there were a few locals in there also enjoying their lunch as well.

My partner and I were looking for a place that did breakfast in town and we were having no luck at all, that is until we happened upon Munchies which served us a truly fantastic full breakfast with the best hash browns in the county. Couple that with outstanding service and you have a winner. Highly recommended.

Visited Munchys recently on Saturday lunchtime whilst in Haverfordwest. The cafe was clean with comfortable seating, friendly and polite staff. I ordered a jacket potato with tuna, I was asked if I wanted it plain, with sweet corn or mayonnaise, I chose Mayo. The tuna and mayo came separately in a ramekin and a garnish of salad. My mother had a ham roll which arrived as a bap, salad garnish and a couple of crisps. All in all the food was well presented and quite tasty. It was only when I checked the bill with the waitress I realised the Mayo actually cost £1.60, bearing in mind the tuna/Mayo came served in a ramekin there must have been all of 2 teaspoons maximum of Mayo mixed with the tuna, I felt this was a bit of a rip off at £5.90, had I had the potato with tuna only it would have been £4.30. Lesson learned.

On our recent visit to Haverfordwest my wife and myself had lunch in Munchys restaurant on the Riverside walk could not fault the place ,very clean ,great service,and best of all the food was delishious and reasonably priced

Me and the wife called in today for breakfast and the breakfast was very nice just a shame you don't get black pudding with the breakfast or have a option the have black pudding of the menu with a extra charge but all round great food

after reading the reviews and fancying a breakfast thought I'd give munchies a try. There is some big breakfasts to choose from and good value too! It was fairly quiet when I went so thought it wouldn't take too long, but 50 minutes later I was still waiting for my food, Only 2 tables (of 2 people) got served before me with over 20 minutes between the person before me and myself getting food, which I thought was abit too long, and I've worked in catering so know how long it takes to make a breakfast. When it did arrive the breakfast was huge and quite tasty.

Came across the café whilst shopping and decided to pop in for a pot of tea and coffee. What a good choice! The manageress/owner was lovely, very friendly and took time to have a chat. Very nice drinks and good value. Plenty of tables and an upstairs dining area also. Would definitely recommend.

Just had breakfast in munchies for the first time and I'd definitely go back. Had the big breakfast I think it was 2 of everything except an egg. But it was all so tasty, to much really but I struggled through, tho I would have the small one next time. Tea was nice too everything was hot hadn't been hanging around for a waitress. If I had to make a negative observation it's that there's not a huge amount of space to get passed tables. But also having seen other diners food it all looked good. Luckily we parked in a different car park and found it by chance it's by the river tucked behind the Main Street of shops try it you'll like it

Called in on the spur of the moment for breakfast, ordered the medium sized breakfast and was not disappointed. Lovely comfy atmosphere, obviously loved by regulars as they all seemed to know each other and staff. Staff were very pleasant. Coffee was very good, will defiantly visit again when my missus needs a crèche to put me in!

Lovely little cafe tucked away by the riverside in Haverfordwest just off castle square - fresh cooked food and always a smile ..relaxing atmosphere and great value for money......plus the lady manager looks like Dawn French but not quite as funny - recommended to all

I haven't had a proper breakfast for a long time, usually when I am on holiday. This particular lunch time I walked into town and just didn't feel like the normal sandwich. Something led me to Munchies as I haven't been here before. The menu is amazing what a choice, I choose a breakfast and a cuppa of tea. Well the breakfast was first class and the staff were too! I can't wait to come back for another breakfast. It is really good to have first class home cooked filling food which makes a change to the over fancy and over priced food that is so fashionable these days.

Had seen this café on TripAdvisor and as my husband and I were in Haverfordwest today we thought we would try it. First signs were good with a 5 rating on the door, a lovely welcoming atmosphere and being greeted with a smile. The menu was excellent with lots of choices. My husband ordered a breakfast and it was HUGE with everything you could possibly want and more. I opted for a smaller portion of sausage, beans and chips which came with bread and butter and plenty big enough for me. We also had a tea and a coffee. It was all freshly cooked and most importantly the eggs were cooked just how my husband asked as he likes runny yolks. We will certainly be returning next time we are in Haverfordwest.

The first thing I'll mention is that I arrived shortly before 2pm and they flipped the "closed" sign on the door not long after I took my table. Perhaps they were in a rush to close up, so bear that in mind as you read my review. If you arrive earlier, the food might be much better cooked.As it was, my experience did not reflect the many 5-star reviews that led me to try Munchies. I had bacon, egg and chips with a pot of tea. The egg and tea were fine; the chips were pallid and non-crispy (could have done with longer in the fryer) and were obviously frozen ... nothing wrong with frozen chips but if that's 5-star, what rating can distinguish a cafe with top-notch proper chips? The bacon was also rather flabby and needed more time in the pan or under the grill.The menu posted outside promised that my order would include bread, but this never arrived. Despite all this, it would be harsh to give this place less than an "average" rating because it was really not that bad, but it was also not that good. If the staff really were rushing to close, I'd prefer them to have told me they were no longer taking orders rather than serving me a disappointing meal.

Me and my partner have dined here before and I can say both times have been exceptional. Staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to help and make the experience as good as possible. Would recommend going if you have not been before.

Fancied a cooked breakfast so after looking here found Munchies, with it's good reviews. We're a bit fussy when it comes to breakfast, mega cheap, greasy pile it high doesn't do it for us.However we walked in and were warmly greeted by one of the owners. All done up, it has been recently repainted and has lovely pictures adorning the walls.The menu is fairly basic but with plenty of portion sizes. We had the Big Munch (I think) at a stunning £4.95 for which you get 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, 2 sausages (not top range but FAR from those cheap fatty grisly things), baked beans, plum tomatoes, mushrooms, 1 egg and 4 decent triangles of toast. There was loads of it, and it really as very nice. As well as the usual Americanos and Latte's they also do the good old fashioned Milky coffee - and it was decent.So for £13.30 we had to big breakfasts and two milky coffees. They also do a smaller and much (mega) larger breakfast too. Also on offer is their lunchtime fare, things such as egg and chips, ham etc. They also do OAP meals and Munchkin meals (Kids). Very friendly pleasant staff.Whilst we were there a group of 5 nice young people came in 12/13 years old (?) to have breakfast. The owner treated them like anyone else and went out of her way to ensure they were happy. It as both really great to see kids out like this - and being treated with respect and gratitude by the patrons.Really nice little cafe, we'll be back P.S> sorry about the coffee in the wife's saucer ;-)

On our visit to Pembrokeshire from Brighton we called into Munchies for lunch. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff . The food was excellent , the portions were large and the prices most reasonable. We would highly recommend Munchies if you are in the Haverfordwest area.

Three friends and myself popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the excellence of the meal, brilliant value, excellent service and friendly staff.If you have a large appetite do have one of their all day breakfast, superb.

A traditional café where the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is freshly cooked and good value. The all day breakfast comes in a variety of sizes and includes a vegetarian option - goodness knows how anyone eats the larger options! It's unusual nowadays to go into a café where the staff are so friendly. We arrived just before 2 and didn't realise they were about to close - not sure if that's a daily occurrence as we couldn't see the opening times outside - but they didn't mention this or encourage us to hurry. Thoroughly recommend it especially for a hearty breakfast, freshly cooked.

Not often to find genuine hospitality with a great breakfast after a morning walk down the scenic River Cleuda, off to the Castle now. Spot on location.

Always our first choice in Haverfordwest. Excellent Veggie breakfast option. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices, couldn't be better.

Called in there for lunch with my daughter and grandchildren. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was great, the prices very reasonable and the portion sizes were great. The food was freshly cooked. Most of the children's menu inc a drink and were the perfect size. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Whether want a meal or a snack have small appetite or a large appetite you wont be disappointed. I will definitely go back.

Popped in for a lite lunch with my Mum yesterday. The lady on the counter was really friendly, chatted & smiled ( what a rarity!)Mum & I shared a Baguette , which I believe was made fresh to order, with a side of chips, absolutely yummy & very reasonably priced. Young lad working there was busy bringing out plates of food, clearing tables etc, it was great to see a youngster getting on and doing something. Will definately be going back.

Was out and about in Haverfordwest today and I spotted Munchies Takeaway and Cafe, So I decided to pop in and have a bite to eat as I have never tried the food there.The staff are very friendly and are more than happy to help, I ordered the mega munch breakfast and I tell you what you certainly get your money's worth the plate was absolutely MASSIVE (I am not joking neither)I would definitely go in there again for food and looking forward to my next visit

Our first time to visit since they've been in their new premises and we weren't disappointed. Called in for breakfast with my partner and our daughter. Staff were very friendly and made a big fuss of her, nothing was too much trouble. We went for the medium sized breakfast and they were enormous. We both have a big appetite so we were very happy with the portion sizes. Everything tasted fresh and was very tasty. They were fairly busy with a steady stream of customers in there but we didn't wait very long and the staff were great. I would definitely recommend this cafe in the heart of town.

Visited here for breakfast with my son on a Saturday morning in March after the restaurant had just opened, having moved from other premises.The restaurant is well presented and clean, with great decor and a nice feel to the place.We ordered food at the counter and were seated at a nice table by the window, where we could watch the life of the town pass by.The food arrived very quickly, and was excellent. Good value for money, good service and portion size just right. There were quite a few others in the place and all seemed very happy with their food.I think this will be our new breakfast place of choice in Haverfordwest!

Being so popular 'Munchys' decided to move to bigger premises . They have now moved to the Riverside .and opened this week . My wife and I went down for breakfast and not only had a wonderful meal at excellent value but also enjoyed the new ambience . You can tell that a lot of thought and time went into the new décor . It was good to see also that some of the old customers have not deserted them as the place was busy . I am sure that they will also have a lot of new customers and will be very busy with the holiday makers. They also do great takeaway too.

Sad to learn on my last visist that Munchies was closed, but delighted to hear this was because they were moving to bigger premises. Have been told they will hopefully open in March down by the riverside. The name is staying the same only it is going to be spelt Munchys instead of Munchies. Good luck to Sonia and Pam and I will be down that way soon for one of your fab breakfasts as soon as your open.

Small cafe with great food and great staff. You feel very welcome almost like family. They have a sign which is true to its word "you enter as a customer, but leave as a friend". Very busy at times and valued prices for the amount of food. Food is fresh as it is cooked to order and its got a 5 star health, hygean and safety.

The staff are great make you fell at home as soon as you walk into this cafe, this on of the best cafes in Haverfordwest good luck girls with continued success, pitty you did not have more room as you are alway full when we walk past.

Just had the best breakfast at Munchies.The welcome was both warm and friendly and made to feel very welcome.The big breakfast is big and, not surprisingly, the extra big breakfast extra big. Food was freshly cooked and of good quality.Really good value for money and would recommend.

Me and my family have been going to muchies for a while now and we just love the atmosphere and how laid back it is.You feel welcomed and acknowledged from the moment you step through the door, if there looks like there's not enough space, the will make some space for you. Whilst it may not be the biggest of places, it is certainly the warmest.All the staff are lovely and don't just treat you like their money. They are great with children, my little girl can be a handful but they treat her like a princess and let's be honest all little girls want to feel special.Their hot chocolate is amazing. A must on a cold day and their breakfast - not a better place in town to get one. If you want something light, their panini's and jacket potatoes are lovely and always freshly prepared.Wish there were more places and staff like them around Pembs.

Having just retired, I do not get up at the crack of dawn anymore !. Sometimes my wife and I do not always feel like cooking breakfast before going down town . One day when in town we felt peckish and we noticed this little corner café . It looked clean neat and tidy with a few customers , so we decided to try it . It was one of my better decisions . We had a fantastic breakfast ,I did not have the largest on offer , at a very good price . I am glad I did not because I was stuffed . I would not have been able to finish the other one . My wife had a smaller breakfast but with drinks it was less than £10 , a bargain ! They of course do other meals which are very popular . The staff are excellent and very welcoming , well worth a visit .

Called in at the Munchies café while on a day visit to Haverfordwest. We were made very welcome and given time to view the menu and make up our minds what we would like to eat. Three of us decided on the Mega breakfast and one on the standard one.When the plates arrived we were gobsmacked at how big the breakfast was two bacon two sausage two eggs beans tomatoes ( tinned such a change from having half a fried tomato ) mushrooms, two hash browns and two rounds of toast. It took some eating but all the food was cooked really well. I would recommend anyone going to Haverford west find Munchies it is by £stretchers go and try for yourself you won't be disappointed .

This Family run Cafe is one of the best we have ever been in, service was great the food was even better what a plesure to eat in such a wonderful cafe that cares about the customers.
