Delicious 5 course Caribbean Feast. Chilled atmosphere. Good service Would happily recommend

Very tasty food. The rum punch was one of the best I've had in a while.

Caribbean fare in a wood floored bistro. Excellent jerk chicken with plantain, peas and rice and a just-right sauce to pour on the heat. Plus a side of Mac ‘n’ Cheese. All good to eat, and good value.

A quick lunch stop. 2 x small playes, both excellent. Quick friendly service. Good central location. Can get busy but well worth a visit.

We have been to mullins multiple times now, each finding something new we love weather it be a dish, side or cocktail. All fabulous. Service is lovely, food is delicious, drinks are great and all very well priced compared to many places in margate. Love Mullins, cant wait to come back.

An Authentic Caribbean Gem in Margate – 10/10! I had to leave a review because this restaurant truly deserves it – 10 out of 10. I went down to Margate for a relaxing weekend, and one of the most recommended spots was Mullins. I’ll be honest – I was extremely sceptical. As someone of Caribbean descent, I’ve often found that Caribbean restaurants rarely live up to the authentic flavours I grew up with. I’m usually left disappointed. But the reviews for Mullins were so good, I decided to give it a try… and I’m so glad I did. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most amazing host – warm, patient, and super knowledgeable. He took the time to talk us through the menu and gave fantastic recommendations. The rum selection was incredible, featuring bottles from every Caribbean island – a beautiful touch that made the experience even more special. The atmosphere was just right – authentic reggae music played in the background, loud enough to enjoy but soft enough to have a conversation. We dined there on Friday, and the food was so good that we had to return on Saturday. We ended up trying most of the menu and honestly, everything was 10/10. The food was well-seasoned, authentic, and made with care. We asked to speak to the chef – and it was no surprise to learn the business has been running for 15 years. The love and experience behind the food were clear in every bite. I would return to Margate just to eat at Mullins again. Cannot recommend them enough. Absolutely amazing experience. Visited today with friends and managed to get a seat outside as we had dogs with us. Food was gorgeous and service was excellent . Sitting in the sunshine in Margate old town is a perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday . Would highly recommend the curried goat or jerk chicken . The Cocktails were lush too

Great restaurant, reliable menu with delicious food. A firm fav for us for an affordable and filling, tasty dinner and a tropical cocktail - also it's open Monday to Saturday so a real golden gem when so many restaurants are closed at the beginning of the week. Great service from lovely staff.

One of the only restaurants open on a Monday evening. What a great little place. Service from Olly was excellent and the food was superb. We ate from the set menu of 3 courses for just over £20. Excellent value. The prawns to start were beautifully succulent and the main of blackened swordfish was delicious. Wrapped up with a plantain tart with rum chantilly cream. Yum!

We love Caribbean food and were recommended Mullins Brasserie. Great, trad menu and superb pre dinner cocktail. Starters of Ackee and salt fish / Bajin fish cakes were to die for. Mains of : blackened swordfish, corn and roasted sweet potato - succulent fish, perfectly cooked, complimented by the corn and potatoes. Curried goat, rice n peas and slaw. Never had such tender goat before. Rice and peas light, tasty and x as great foil on the goat. Perfectly crisp and lightly dressed slaw cooled perfectly. To finish we had the ginger sponge. So light it practically gloated into our mouths. All desserts are home made, do highly praised Antonio! Off season and reasonably patronised, but hey come on now you local ex-Londoners support this brilliant, authentic eatery. Coming for a long or short break ? Cross the threshold for some seriously good food. You have ‘The Kilted Cooks’ seal of approval.

We went for a lovely valentines night meal. Their valentines special menu had great choices and was excellent value. The food was delicious well prepared and cooked. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rose on the table was a lovely gesture. Would thoroughly recommend

Delicious 3 course lunch, garlic king prawns with mango salad followed by jerk pork belly with sweet potato & celeriac dauphinoise, ending with a beautifully light warm ginger sponge with toffee sauce & home made vanilla ice cream. Lovely service & great calue

Delicious! The menu had so much choice, I wanted to try everything. Started with the calamari which was cooked to perfection and wonderfully spiced. The fish stew was a bowl of heavenly flavours, perfectly cooked fish and shellfish with the potatoes soaking up the flavour of sauce. Plates scraped clean! Service was friendly, helpful and just right, such a charming waiter. Fabulous. Cannot wait to go back. Go and let your taste buds be tickled!!

First came here 10 years ago and it was very good then. Had beem back at least once since then and it is still very good. Some of the food has a real kick to it. Worth a visit

I normally go to Mullins a couple of times a year and I am never let down with the quality of the food. Today I had the special, duck breast, and it was just melt in the mouth. A Jamaican gem in Margate.

Went there by chance on Wednesday and had a superb Caribbean meal. The food was fantastic. We had originally booked for Olby's in Margate but when we arrived, they were not open so don't know why they took my telephone booking but pleased that Mullin's was just round the corner and open and very welcoming. Will definitely go back to Mullin's again.

Loved my Ital stew and the fried plantain is divine. Really appreciated the range of vegan options. Highly recommend!!

What a meal! We ran into Mullins on a rainy night in Margate having looked at the menu and feeling intrigued to try Chef Antonio's Bajan food. The food was utterly delcious - there are no words for how wonderful my Jerk Chicken was, and the fried plantain was so good we ordered an extra portion. My husband loved his soft shell crab and the whole meal was excellent. Lovely local cider and the service was friendly and attentive. Great value excellent food - would highly recommend.

Fantastic! We had ackee and saltfish, Bajun fishcakes, jerk chicken and the soft shell crab from the specials board. The food was beautifully presented and really tasty. Staff were attentive and brilliant. Very reasonably priced. A lovely lunch!

Very nice dining room in lovely old building. Started with the fishcakes which seemed more like Conch Fritters to me which were very good but no pepper sauce, as on the menu, in sight? Went for the goat curry which tasted very good and then the heat crept up on you - was perspiring by the end of the goat! - came with coleslaw which I found a bit strange and didnt really go with the stew but Hey! The ginger sponge to end was a delight and the ice cream very welcome! Small note to barman - a dark and stormy is made with ginger beer not ginger ale but overall a very good dinner at a reasonable price - would go back!

Ate here on the bank holiday. Despite the restaurant not being at full capacity, the food and service was very slow. We waited more than 50 mins for our main meal. The waiting staff did not make any effort to keep us informed. Despite the poor service and delay, the food was worth it. Don’t order the fish cakes if you can’t handle a bit of heat! There was no reference to these having chilli in them but there were spicy.

First visit here which we decided on after reading the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff, lovely restaurant. Although I think the toilets could do with a bit of a spruce up. We all ordered something different and all ended up eating each others too. The food was absolutely delicious. Generous portion sizes, and so tasty. We would definitely make a return visit.

Beautiful food but very spicy. Ginger cake and caramel custard was unreal. But be warned ask for a glass of milk. Highly recommend

Very good food and worth visiting. A really interesting menu with dishes I rarely see anywhere else. Might be worth booking at peak times.

Staff were really nice however I ordered a chicken roti and it was microwaved - it was still steaming by the end of the meal, 25 min later. The wrap itself was a tortilla wrap and not a roti. Very over priced for what was served. Also ordered a curry goat which was also microwaved and not very good, as well as overcooked rice which was mushy. Not Caribbean food.

We are seasoned Caribbean food diners so we can be very picky on this cuisine but I can honestly say it was one of the best we’ve had! My only criticism is whoever is dishing up, need to take more care as 3 of us had the curry goat and for £18 I barely had any meat on my plate!! Sent it back to request more but it’s not a great first impression! I would go back having said that as the food is outstanding! We sat outside as we were there for the Soul weekender so noise level was moderately high but great for us!! I am gluten free and there were good choices on the main for GF although not much choice on the starters.

There were seven of us for dinner. None of us had explored the concept of a Caribbean brasserie until now. My bbq wings and blackened tuna, both off the specials board, were not really special; I agreed with my son who said the bbq sauce on his plate was insufficient. Others reported positively about calamari, goat, chicken and mango whilst my daughter enjoyed her 'creole' fish stew. In summary the dishes had little to do with the West Indies, the waiter was friendly if nervous and the setting nice and relaxed.

Great meal. Food was delicious and a bit different. Loved the tuna steak and Cajun fish cakes.

Another delicious lunch at Mullins today Corn Fritters and Jerk Chicken for me - excellent - Ackee and Saltfish and Oxtail for partner - declared to be best ever. Great service, as always. Thanks.

Such a nice restaurant, great atmosphere and a nice quiet street if you are sitting outside. We had the vegan and non vegan options and would recommend everything especially with a side of fried plantains! Great service as well. Would recommend

What an amazing find, in Margate. Delicious carribbean food, cocktails were fab. The curry goat with rice and peas, was great, husband loved it. My fish gougons in red strip with fab too. Pudding was fab too, Ginger cake and ice cream. I'm sure we will be back.

Nice interior and service, but food not so much. I had a cream soup which had strong taste of oxo, was over-salted and had lots of fibres from asparagus. The sweet corn fritters had only few corn pieces inside and simply were not very tasty.

It's one of the few restaurants where booking is not required. Seats were available, the food was ok, not amazing. Lovely Carribean music. Nice atmosphere and good views through their big windows.

Really average veggie food - could hear the microwave going and the creole vegetables tasted like tinned pasta sauce :( Sides and roti were decent but not very well presented.

Lovely staff. They were very patient with our noisy kids. Food was absolutely delicious and also great selection of nicely priced wines.

They make a seriously delicious Creole fish stew here. I think it was only 18 pounds and you get fresh and juicy seafood paired with the richest tomato broth. Came here on a weekday so there was only one waitress but she was kind and helpful throughout the lunch. I’m honestly surprised by how quiet it was, given the high quality of food and affordable menu.

We went for lunch and it was incredibly good food, great service and all in all with the soft reggae vibes and people happily chatting with friends this is certainly the place to lime. ❤️😊🇧🇧

Popped in on a staurday lunchtime and managed to get a table. I had the penne with jerk sausage and chicken and my partner had the jerk chicken with rice and peas. We also shared some sweetcorn fritters. The food was delicious, friendly service and nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful evening at Mullins. From the time I phoned George to book a table for ten, right up to the end of our dinner was fabulous. Nothing was too much effort for the staff - we wanted a square table and thats what they gave us. They went out of their way to put our decorations up. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations! Thank you George, the chef and all the staff - we will definitely be back!!!

Amazing food. Had generous portions which was great. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was excellent. The cocktails are very good too. The atmosphere inside is warm and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend.

Went in for the Carribean night (5 courses!). The sardines were great (me and my partner do like fresh fish). The jerk sausage and mash was good but personally would have liked a bit more heat. The boozy pineapple+ ice cream we could really have done with a fork rather than chase it all around the plate. Overall good value and good food.

Went here for a late lunch at 2:00. Yummy ital stew and the curried chickpeas with pitta were great. The vegetable roti was also good but considering it's literally a veggie wrap with fries and salad, £12 for that is too much! Only complaint is that our waitress was very disinterested and acted like she didn't want to be there.

I had such high hopes from the Google photos. So over priced! But when you look the ones that come up are they all very old. The staff were lovely. So polite and helpful. The food was very basic confused Caribbean. Lots of chips. £19 a main course. Definitely not worth that.

I happened to find this place by accident and myself and my friends were just here for the seaside trip and am so happy to visit this restaurant,. The Owner is pleasant the staff are very welcoming and friendly,. Would recommend my friends and family and suture to return again.

Hands down best authentic Caribbean restaurant I have been to. Service and food was outstanding. I have been to a few Caribbean restaurants but Mullins is by far best we’ve had. We were staying nearby and decided on our last night to give it a try. We made the right choice. Love how the restaurant has been organised. Great location and very friendly staff. If you are looking for a superb example of great Caribbean cuisine this is it. I had the Chicken Roti whilst my wife and youngest had the curry goat and eldest had Jerk chicken. Portion size was perfect. We were all very happy. 3 of us had the ginger sponge whilst eldest had vanilla cheese cake. Again outstanding. Me and wife both agreed a two hour drive from where we live to visit Mullins again would absolutely be worth it. Expect us back again soon!

A nice restaurant. The mocktails are very tasty. You have to have a lot of patience if you want to order a second drink. Unfortunately, the food is only average and the clearing service is unprofessional.

Banging curried goat peas & rice

One of my favourite places to go for a beautiful tasty relaxed meal with the hubby and friends.

As a party of 5 people who all chose a different dish, we all found the food lovely and the service exceptional. The waitress was very helpful in ensuring that we all got home safely when let down by the cab company who should have collected us. Many thanks.

We had high hopes for authentic Caribbean food, but what came was far from it. The chicken roti was misleading. Chicken was dry and there was no curry sauce. Meanwhile, the 'roti' it came in was an El Paso tortilla wrap. As someone who is from the Caribbean, calling it a roti is genuinely disrespectful. If I knew it was going to come in a tortilla wrap, I wouldn't have ordered it. The jerk chicken was dry and unseasoned, except for the packet mix pasted on top. We thought better than staying for dessert. The waiting staff were lovely and we're sure the kitchen staff are too, but this Caribbean food is probably only passable if you have never had it before. Unfortunately bland and tame.

Staff polite… Food mediocre for Caribbean... Mediocre environment…. Asked for an extra coleslaw as one come already with the meal… was given one small pot and told it was 2two sets of coleslaw all in one… not so good for the prices you are paying for food.

as usual super food spoiled by being told that at just over an hour they needed our table for some walk ins even though we had booked in advance and changed our prefered dining time to suit them, maybe they should warn customers that the table time is restricted before taking a booking We will not be back, we dont want to go where we are not welcome
