In the past we have loved the experience of taking our friends to enjoy a good meal at what was the best indian restaurant locally. Sadly, the quality of meals has become inconsistent and in August the service, provided by a senior employee was surly and unwelcoming. We will not be back unless we hear that things have changed.

I haven't given this a 1 star as it's the first time we've had a meal from here so it may have been a one off or simply bad night but our takeaway meal was pretty poor. We both had different chicken dishes which tasted the same, only the spice heat separating them. Big slices of tough chicken breast in both. I had the Gurkhas Revenge which also had king prawns in it but sadly they were so overcooked they were just chewy and not very nice. Hard discs of onion bhaji, pilau rice more like plain boiled rice, the Bombay aloo was missing so we didn't get to try that. The sag paneer was nice though. The garlic nan was undercooked and doughy, not very nice.It may have been staff issues but it will be a while before I try them again

This place serves the best Indian food around. Amazing tastes and flavours and never disappoints . Also offers a takeaway service . Food is of a good price also.

Biggest problem is you don't get a discount for takeaway which is a shame as all the other local ones do. Food is ok. But doesn't warrant the extra price over the other local ones. Get some discounts then would be higher rating.

My wife and I decided to have a take away curry from this establishment for the second time this year. The food was ordered by telephone and was ready within 30 minutes. The food was impressive and we both had a lovely meal. It is good to see that the impressive standard of food from our first visit has been maintained.

I have visited here many times and the food is always fantastic and good value for money! However it would be useful to have a printed receipt of your order as we have had issues before where we have been overcharged for things we have ordered but have not been able to read the bill properly so has been very difficult to prove. Overall though excellent food and a great restaurant in Raunds!

My wife and I had a takeaway from the Mughal Dynasty and we were both very impressed with the quantity and quality of the meal. I had a Chicken Vindaloo and this is not for the faint hearted. The very hot and spicy curry was delicious and could not be faulted. My wife had a Chicken Tikka Masala and she enjoyed it very much so all in all the food was a great success and I am sure we will return to eat within the restaurant in the near future. Two takeaway meals and two different types of rice for just under £20 is certainly good value for money

First time visiting here in many years. Unfortunately I did not have high expectations, but I was proven wrong.The food was superb, from the starters of chicken tikka and sheek kebab to the main of chicken tikka jalfrezi both sides of saag and bombay were also lovely. We are on holiday in the area and were recommended to try the Mughal dynasty. We checked trip advisor and the Mughals website . Both clearly stating opening at 5pm. We arrived at 5.20 and went in. Two waiters ( we think) were lolling on the counter and told us we couldn’t have a meal as they did not open till six.they were not apologetic, or pleasant. Won’t be trying them again!

2nd time I have visited this restaurant and again food and service were very good. All three of us had superb food and can't wait to go back again. Even when they are busy service was still good.

We had an excellent evening here. The staff were friendly and the quality of the food was excellent. They were able to achieve a very good balance between the spiciness of the curry and intensity, so that I never had the impression that the meal was too "hot" to eat but at the same time each mouthful was full of flavour.

Went for a meal on tues 17th Jan they had a few customers in,they came and gave menus and ask about drinks then came back and ask if we had chosen not rushing you,we both chose reshmi kebab for starter it was delicious main my wife had chicken Garma garam and I had sylthety special they were both amazing,the prices are very good for what you get

Visited this evening for a birthday meal to be placed in a squashed window seat when the whole restaurant was empty, can only presume this is to make it look busy. The restaurant was chilly when we got in, asked one of the staff if we could move but he explained he had put the heating on and it would warm up in 10 minutes or so which was fine. The waiter then asked if he could take our order and we asked for an additional 5 minutes as we were still deciding. He then came back wearing a coat and seemed as though he was in a hurry, decided to change my mind on main course during placing the order, which seemed to be a huge inconvenience as the waiter explained he would have to write out the whole order again, I suggested he just put a line through it and he said he couldn't do that as the "bossman wasn't in and it would look like he hadn't charged us for it" anyway we continued with our order and questioned each other as to whether we wanted any additional sides to be told by the waiter "I think you've got enough" which we found rude insulting and yet again felt as though he was in some kind of rush. Once our order was taken he rushed out to deliver a home delivery so you would think explained why he was in a hurry however 3 other staff were around the restaurant who I'm sure could've taken our order. The waiter then returned from his home delivery and put on the television at the other side of the restaurant with the football on quite loud. We found this quite unprofessional and had to talk louder in order to hear each other. Our starters arrived, were tasty and piping hot so no complaints there. Mains arrived and all were fine apart from one (Chicken Madras) my friend said it tasted quite bitter and strange, no return visit from any of the waiters to check how our meals were, obviously busy watching the football. When a different waiter came to collect plates once we were finished we explained that the Madras wasn't very nice (my friend had eaten one piece of chicken) we asked if he could take this off the bill as it wasn't eaten and my friend was really disappointed with it. The waiter then began to blame us for not telling anyone that she didn't like it before he came to collect the plates therefore couldn't take it off the bill, he then spoke in native tongue to his colleague across us who then also came over and began being argumentative and told us we should've mentioned this before, continuing to swap between english and native tongue. They eventually came to the conclusion that the manager would come and speak to us. The manager then had the same argument with us suggesting that we should've complained during the meal which we again explained we weren't given the opportunity to. Eventually he agreed to discount our bill with the price of a chicken madras. Other than the Madras the food was tasty however the way we were treated we would never return. Avoid.

We ate at the Mughal Dynasty in Raunds with a bunch (8 total in our group) of local friends on a Friday night and had a very enjoyable meal. The service was very good, the menu is extensive as it is in most Indian Restaurants (with all the favourites and plenty of 'specials'), the food was very good, prices were reasonable and the atmosphere is as you'd expect from any typical Indian Restaurant. At the end of the meal the 4 ladies in our group all got a red rose which was a nice touch. Would certainly eat here again... Take away available also.

Having eaten at the Mughal for years, I can honestly say it is a very good restaurant, That serves up excellent food consistently well. The staff are friendly & Efficient, The beer is good, All in All Great..!

I have visited Mughal Dynasty three times in the last month. Every time we turn up we wait to be seated, but the staff keep pointing at tables and refuse to seat us. This practice is bewildering. They them come over with our menus afterward. The food is really good, seriously good. The decor needs updating and it is hard to get someone to come over to check back or take further drinks orders during the meal.

We have been coming here for over 20 years for take aways and to eat in. The food is great, especially eating in the flavours are gorgeous. The restaurant went down last year for a while as they lost some of their chefs but they have a fantastic chef again. Highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone we have taken there all said it is one of the best they have been to.

I have been going to the Mughal Dynasty regularly for years and was very sad to see how tatty the restaurant had become when I took friends there last Friday. The chairs have really seen better days and a grubby floor added to the run down feel of the restaurant. The service was fine, but the food wasn't up to the normal standard I have come to expect from the MD........ Very disappointing as I had been singing the praises of this restaurant to the friends I was taking there. I doubt if I will go there again. :-(

I was delighted to find an extensive range of vegetarian choices on the menu. Many pay lip service only to vegetarians. For everyone there is tremendous choice and at a reasonable price. If there is a particular dish which is not on their menu just tell them and it will be prepared for you, a very good service.

Fantastic food, friendly staff, reasonably price. Provides an excellent takeaway service although it's better to eat in. Car park opposite the venue. All major credit accepted. Limited range of desserts. Staff always welcoming.

This is now our local curry house having moved to the area and is the best we have ever tasted. You have to plan in advance though as they are so popular a takeaway is usually at least an hours wait but it is worth wait, every time.

We ordered a take away from here. The downside was an hour and a half wait for delivery. The upside was the food which was hot, tasty and plenty of it. I would use the service again, but order in plenty of time. Good menu, lots of choice.

Thought we would try somewhere else for a change but were very disappointed. The staff weren't particularly welcoming and although my madras was good the vindaloo was very very dry. Back to the Shaad in Highan Ferrers for us.

I have been using the Mughal Dynasty for the last ten years both at their old premises and the current one. Whether I dine in or have a takeaway the food is always excellent and the service from the staff is always top notch especially from Mohsin who is a credit to the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and can honestly say no other Indian restaurant I have dined at comes close to the food at the Mughal. I have recently dined there with family from the USA who said it was the best Indian dining experience they gave had. Can't wait to dine there again.

Been here twice now and on both occasions thoroughly enjoyed it. The accompanying dishes that came with the poppadoms were lovely and ample and then they were refilled! I had the whole chicken tandoori and it was succulent and very flavorsome. My daughters both enjoyed their meals immensely. The staff where very polite and obliging and as another reviewer said, not in the least overbearing. The restaurant itself is very clean, pleasant and modern looking with lots of space and light. We were the last customers and late leaving but we never felt hurried. I did apologise for being slow to leave as I am sure they had had enough and wanted to get off but they remained resolutely polite. This was a terrific way to end the Christmas holiday.
