Muffin Break in Islington

I received a friendly service when oredering at this café on the first floor of the hospital. I took away good flatwhite and a delicious and flavourful warm pastry with black pudding and pulled pork, apple sauce and spinach.

One of, if not the best hospital cafeterias I've ever eaten in. Good, tasty, freshly prepared food served by friendly helpful staff

Had a sausage roll the only good thing I can say about it is it was hot.It was more like a pasty and the meat was like dry pulled pork. The coffee was passable.

The sad reality of hospitals is that you don't visit for the food or even the ambience. What you do want is somewhere that serves drinks and some sort of snack at whatever odd hour you happen to be visiting. Now Muffin Break isn't open 24-hours but they are open a lot and happily dispense hot drinks to visitors for a price. I didn't try the food but the muffins did look pretty tasty.

Nice food, friendly staff. Been here a few times and I’ve been impressed with the food m, service and hospitality. I highly recommend the apple cinnamon muffin is delicious but the white chocolate raspberry muffin, oh my! Scrumptious!

Asked for the egg and bacon panini, said they had no egg but charged same price, heated up until rock hard and £5:50 for the privilege of not being able to eat it without breaking your teeth. Speaking own language and not English in front of customers so they can discuss the price amounts other things. This place makes me sick. Severely overpriced. I wish they would put something or someone else here instead. Go to the cafes in Archway and save your money!

Just WoW Lovely place on the 1st floor of a Whittington Hospital building site . Muffins , sandwiches, and croissants taste amazing . Everything is fresh and looks beautiful, Decorations of the sweets snacks are really persuasive . I could not say , no ..... Coffee, tea, fresh juices , baby chino... There are a lot of seats inside . Toilets available . Very cosy , warm, and tidy. Perfect idea to attract customers while they are waiting for collection theirs prescriptions . Excellent choice of quality 👌 5 out of 5 🌟 stars 🌟 Incredible !!!!

I can't comment on all of their products. The first time I visited I was not impressed at all, but the banana walnut muffin I had yesterday with coffee was simply OUTSTANDING. I will definitely give them a another chance

Just had hot chocolate as no tea bags its the worst hit chocolate I've ever had for 3.30 😱

I came here to get a takeaway coffee. They kept on pestering me to buy food, which I said I didn't want. But the worst was that I paid £3:70 for a takeaway coffee that was almost ice cold! I don't know how they managed to mess up a simple order like this! I went to the vending machine, and even that was much warmer and nicer!!!!

Ordered online and will not be ordering again. Salmon bagel was stale and hard and possibly out of date

Lauren was really lovely, it’s later in the day and she’s still serving with a smile. Such kind staff always to be honest and the food is fab for comfort, great coffee, delicious muffins and coffee prefect service on top of that.

Only had a Latte & Croissant so not hard to get them wrong hence only 4* but enjoyed both

I gave 3 stars just because muffins. Muffins are very tasty and good. Very fresh blueberry muffins. I ordered flat white the lady who work as barista gave me different coffee. Coffee’s taste was so bad.

Coffee was good, friendly staff but level of hygiene 0 Really really dirty, everything was smelly , oily and greasy. Not good for an hospital cafè.

Awful macchiato - always just a blob of airy white bubbles on top. Awful flat white - too milky and bland! They Only got it right once!

Very poor experience. Staff very friendly but I am coeliac and asked for a gluten free muffin. They assured me it was gluten free and I bought it. Ate it the next day and spent the afternoon vomiting with severe stomach pains. Called Muffin Break and they apologised and said they had sold me the vegan muffin by mistake! Told my husband they would investigate and call back but of course they didn’t. Do not trust their knowledge of gluten free!!

My experience here was not great. - Coffee was awful - No vegan food options at all - Found their muffins very bland and dry - No comfy seating at all On the plus side, the staff were polite.

Mean unfriendly staff not a welcoming eatery wont be using again. Dry toastie barely there cheese. Thick coffee poor service overall. If staff dont like public/people work elsewhere simples!!!

The muffins aren't great, but the cookies are good. The coffee is decent and they have paninis that look ok

Had the worst flat white coffee ever. Cold and very milky. The toasted chicken and chorizo was unpleasant. So expensive for poor quality food and service. Will rather stay hungry next time than waste money

Friendly service and a decent coffee and pain au chocolat, even if the price was a little steep.

Asked for warm tuna wrap and cheese toastie. Both were cold when served. Coffee was sub standard. Not a great place.

Well I'm disappointed with their hygiene standards and as in the grounds of a hospital. The woman serving was constantly on her mobile and then opened the cover of the milk with her blooming mouth. WHAT. When I challenged her she replied "well I had to open it. Completely oblivious to what she did. . Serious food hygiene standards and customer service training required
