M&S Cafe in Peterborough

The coffee and tea are excellent, and it's clear that the staff take pride in what they serve. Speaking of the staff, they are always friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your visit. Even during busy times, service remains quick and efficient. Overall, the Marks & Spencer Café is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal or a snack. It’s one of my favorite spots to unwind, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality food and a pleasant atmosphere.

Waited 40 minutes for simple food and then had my sandwich arrive sloppy with spicy red pepper sauce- after asking what came on it and being told it was served with sauces on the side. It was inedible. The potato was a mess, the “ciabatta fingers” were a breadstick sliced in half. This isn’t the staff’s fault. It’s an M&S training and staffing problem. Do better, M&S.

Unfortunately, it was not a delight this time visiting. I ordered 2 portions of chips with to hot drinks the chips were priced at £2.50 a portion, what we received was quarter of a bowl of chips each absolutely shocking. I complained and did receive a refund for one portion, staff were happy to help and friendly but the food was shocking. For your info m&S I have provided a bowl of chips you provide in your restaurant to a bowl I cooked at home at a fraction of the price.

Arriving for some lunch at The M&S Cafe in Brotherhood Peterborough with my husband and the queue once again is out the door. All Staff on slow mode again. Overhearing then a staff member the lady with the Red short hair to say to Customers in line waiting “We are running out of food”and to the young girl on the till. Errr not very professional that is it. Umm this is a Cafe is it not? Running out of food at 1.30pm? Lunch time! The mind beggars to belief. After standing in the queue for quite some time and customers now at this point are astounded to witness that the staff members, and at this point there are 3 behind the counter no one is serving. The young lady then walks off the others one with short red hair the other an older lady with a scrunchy in her hair just stand there talking totally ignoring the queue and Customers. HELLO!!! Then they too decided to walk off after the young girl returns to the counter. The customers at this point are fuming some walking out. Not being seen too or greeted on arrival WHATS GOING ON? Where is the manager in all this. No sense of Customer service. No tables were being cleared but staff everywhere to be seen. All to busy doing absolutely nothing!!! And that at lunch time. Overhearing Customers that was already seated and waiting for their food discussing the dysfunctional Cafe and Staff. My husband returned to the counter for some extra milk for our tea asking politely only, for the lady with the short red hair to make a huffing breathing sound at him like it’s to much trouble serving him again for then my husband to say to her “Have I upset you asking for extra milk”. What on Earth is up with the Staff at this Cafe. Rude no work ethics no manners and can not be bothered with Customers let alone do their job. Just want to say if the job is too much and you don’t like serving Customers then maybe you’re in the wrong job and time for a change. We can’t fault the food as always it’s tasty and pleasant to eat. So thumbs up for the Chefs but the Staff on the floor are appalling.

Awful place 5 members of staff sharing the one brain cell and couldn’t work out which of them had it last. 3 quarters of an hour to serve 5 customers and still managed to get most of the orders wrong

Sour dough toast is rubbish for toddlers much too hard why they changed from the lovely toast they did no idea. No more breakfast in M&S for our family.

Very disappointing. No fries, no jacket potato. The tables hadn’t been cleared so we had to clear one to sit down. When my toastie arrived it was soggy and greasy.

It’s a dump / many of the free tables were covered with dirty plates and cups from the previous occupants…… it’s like an upmarket expensive truckers cafe. Will not be returning. It’s not rocket science to employ people to clean the tables for the local middle classes

I absolutely loved this café, the area was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and approachable, the service time was good considering we were there at lunchtime (12.30ish) and most importantly the food was so delicious! The menu has a good selection of snacks and meals both hot and cold and a large selection of drinks. Although it was busy the seating layout made it possible to have a conversation without feeling that you were struggling to be heard. The food is reasonably priced as the quality is exceptional, just what you would expect from M&S. I would definitely recommend this café and I will be returning 😊.

Decent cafe with decent coffee, just very pricey. £2 for a can of lemonade for instance is asking alot.

Sandwiches purchased were lovely. My issue (as always with M&S Cafes) is the lack of clear tables and cleaning. Out of many tables probably only one or two were free from previous cups and plates. Why not direct people to take their trays/crockery to a stacking area?

M&S Serpentine shopping centre not Brotherhood The staff are always helpful and pleasant and the coffee is good. The staff are very overworked due to staff shortage but as previously stated they do not let it get them down and always have a smile. The only reason it didn't receive 5 stars is due to the works canteen furniture and surrounding. If the cafe had been put near the entrance it would have benefited from natural light and been able to spread out into the square at the front of the building Costa have taken advantage of this.

Always great food and helpful staff

The flat white was v flat, that's for sure. But the cheese scone are cheesy! Good service but took a while. We'd go again. Anytime. Just pity about the flat white. The replacement black Americano was much better.

We took the lift to floor 2 men's department and found exactly what we were looking for We then went to the cafe and my daughter had a panini and tea, I had a sandwich and large cup of coffee. The meals were very tasty and the drinks were hot

Unfortunately there was an awkward customer in front of me. People who came in after me which was 4 couples went to the other till & got served first. This was in the restaurant. I don't like complaining so I kept quiet!

Had lunch it was very nice soup and rolls.

Staff always have time for a chat. Tables are continually being cleaned and tidied.

As always had a lovely meal and perfect coffee. Good service.

Wasn't happy at m&s cafe today.long wait. very busy only one person on till . so long cues .people went away beacause of it.not good for sunday.

Ram jammed. Tables that beaded cleaning and £4 for a sandwich. Not impressed.

Stopped by for lunch today, we have done this a few times, the food and service is always great. Today they told us there would be a 30 minute wait for food because of some fridge issues they had last night, 40 minutes later a staff member came over apologised, gave us a full refund for the food and said our food would be out shortly, 5 minutes later the food came and it was tasty as always. I went to the fridge to buy another bottle of cider and they said it was free because of our wait. Couldn't fault them.

Food was what you would expect. The lady serving seemed to look down her nose at my wife and I.

A good selection, but by God they are slow unless they have a younger team working the coffee machines. Friendly, but slow service. Usually clean and a good menu selection for a quick bite cafe of this type - Just needs the quick bit sorting...!

Just a shame that the quality of the tuna in the baked potatoe is of cat food grade when the rest of the meal is good.

Waited what appeared to be a long time for our all day breakfast. Mentioned this to the waitress who immediately apologised and offered to refresh our tea. I accepted and really enjoyed the meal. Well done M &S for rectifying the situation. Other restaurants should note.

Over 30 min wait for a toasted sandwich.

Coffee rather weak and not very hot. Turkey toastie lacking in Turkey. Chicken toastie very good as was the tea. On a busy lunchtime tables need clearing more quickly.

The service was poor and slow lack of staff made for a long wait , the drinks were only just hot and the food took ages to arrive , not what we would expect from this company . Will give it a miss from now .

Scrambled eggs were creamy and good but not hot. Smoked salmon a bit dry at the ends in places and very salty. Not a great meal I'm afraid

Fabulous team - swift and efficient

I love shopping in this M&S, It's handy to get to & a lovely size shop to have a look about. The staff are all lovely, helpful & friendly.

7 Deg outside and the Aircon is running very cold inside - daft!!

Very slow, very expensive, not a great selection of food and the coffee is hit and miss! The seating itself feels much like sitting in a school canteen unless you're near the windows overlooking the car park. Overall more a visit of convenience than a treat. On the flip side, good toilet facilities!

Pleasant place to relax with a coffee and cakes

I enjoyed a lovely scone with cream and jam! Staff friendly and helpfull overall. The enviroment clean, spacious and welcoming, variety of options including traditional cakes... i only missed the tarts and biscuits that one gets from the bakery but i suppose thats how would get their customers to spend more money. I would recommend and enjoyed my visit today. Thanks.
