Had a delicious roast and apple pie and ice cream, food was very good although the apple pie was nothing special and just like any you would get from the shop, Althea the price of the food was very good , the owners are wonderful and very friendly and had a lovely chat would highly recommend

We loved it. So friendly! And the roast really hit the spot.

So apologies upfront for my pictures on this one I was somewhat distracted by the meal itself. So it was recommended that we eat here and to make the extra effort to have their Sunday Roast. Unfortunately we expected the worst when we received the mint sauce which was all a bit washy and thin. Portion size, now this could be challenged but for me it was a small dinner and I fail to see how you could make aspects of this meal any smaller without not serving it. The food was of extremely poor quality and I would suggest that from the shapes of some of the vegetables and my knowledge of a good roast potatoe that most of this mealcame straight from a bag. Needless to say we didn't stay for dessert. Service although the basics were there as in they were initially polite etc we weren't asked how everything was. This might have been because 2 of the 3 plates still had a lot left on them and that said enough, mine will always be empty so I can review properly for you ;) So I never got to thank the guy we met for suggesting here but it will not be my suggestion for you. This is a review of the Sunday Roast only to be super clear but based on other reviews of this I would stay well clear if you like a good one. I also mimic what other a have said about the aging decor and a distict smell of an old property. Very novel Silver Cross/Winnie the Pooh high chair though, it had more straps than a straight jacket!

Quiet pub, aimed at walkers, cyclists, campers etc. A bit of a time warp back to the pubs I went into 20+ years ago. Only open on weekends and menu a bit dated but the food was delicious and the welcome of the hosts was warm and friendly.

Good food and drinks place open only at weekend. Lovely couple run thus family friendly English Pub that serves Iranian and English food on Saturdays and a good roast on Sundays. Good spread on menu options. Well worth a visit. Say hello to Margaret.

Excellent food. Excellent service and very good value. Recommend the Lasagne was delicious and Baileys drizzle ice cream to follow, simple but really nice. Excellent menu and some grest specials that are changed weekly. Shame the place is only open Sat and Sunday. Great place to drop in if on a walk around the area.

Lovely oldie worldly pub, views are brilliant, so high up here, enjoyed my Benedictine drink, can't get this drink in most pubs, but nice atmosphere, great background music, recommend.

Strangely only open at the weekends. Found it most unwelcoming.

Unfortunately there was no draught lager or cider. The food was okay but nothing special. Roast chicken was fine but the chilli had the consistency of soup. Pub was a little grubby. Definately a locals pub.

Great little country pub well worth a visit. The home cooked food is amazing, the place was busy but still quiet enough to be cosy, the staff and friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming here again for the amazing food.

Been coming to the Mow Inn since Said and Margaret took it over some 30 years ago. We met some friends here today and what a great atmosphere and excellent food as always, cannot fault it at all, amazing place 😊

Lovely couple who own it. Very old and dated pub. Limited choice in drinks. It’s either Carlsberg or Carlsberg export. We had a Sunday roast there. It was frozen vegetables. The roasts were aunt Bessie’s, as well as the Yorkshire puds ☹️

Nice pub, clean and warm. We didn't eat here but the menu of specials sounded lovely. What a shame that the drinks are very over priced £2.30 for a soda and lime!! Has put us off going back to visit

Attended for a wedding party, window shutters were awkwardly placed so felt sectioned off from the rest of the guests. Children are not allowed in any of the bar areas, was told downstairs we couldn't wait there while the room wasn't ready and told to go upstairs, then told upstairs that we couldn't wait there either

Very lovely people very lovely vibe. 10/10 would recommend to anybody wanting a nice night out.

Nice building but disappointed with my fish and chips. What looked like a frozen supermarket fish was small and overpriced at over £8.

Lovely country pub great stop over when out for a walk

What a lovely place for a meal, fabulous food! We live in Manchester so do not get in too often, but visiting friends we always pay a visit, can't rate it too highly. Lovely , friendly hosts.

Friendly, warm and relaxed it's just like visiting a friend's house for a meal. Tbe staff are wonderful and adapt meals for a vegan palette although they have mainly traditional English and Persian dishes. Wonderful service, everything is cooked fresh and the quality is supberb.
