My partnef and I loved attending the Mount Street Social on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. Excellent drinks package of 6 drinks for £36. We bought two of ghe packages and had 4 cocktails and a glass of wine and a Prosecco. Loved the Barry White Cocktail especially. The guitar and vocal duo Georgiaandjamie were brilliant and the whole ambience was really enjoyable. The Social set menu of sharing dishes was a perfect ensemble and a fusion of different tastes and experiences. Really enjoyed this 3 hour event but was sadly informed this was the last event. Truly hope Mount Street Dining put a similar dining/music experience in place in the near future maybe with a jazz band but would be a regular at such an event at least on a once a month basis. Really excellent value for money.

The service in the cocktail bar in the Midland Hotel was horrible. It took 20 minutes to get a server to wait on me. The bar tender was working fast and furious but the 3 servers spent all their time talking to each other or disappearing in the back room. There were maybe 12 people in the bar. Several parties around me sat down but gave up and left.

This is the midland restaurant and bar which is used in the morning for the hotel guests breakfast. We stayed for a night which included a three course evening meal. I booked this because we stayed a few weeks ago - but without the meal and enjoyed the hotel - so we were looking forward to it. Sadly the menu for such a plush hotel was very poor. Bangers and mash, burgers and fishcake was the choice of mains. The taste of the food was average. Burgers were stunning looking but dry. My starter of breaded mushrooms was nice but the chocolate brownie horribly dry. I noticed they had given us a different menu than other guests, probably because we bought the package. This in itself isn't a problem if the choice was a bit more interesting let's say. Plus the three course meal was £150 more than the bed and breakfast we had done a few weeks earlier. If you wanted a steak it was another £8.00 on top of the £150 already paid! The service was awful. Had to wait and wait for each course to be cleared and after yet another wait my wife had to go and ask where our desserts were. When we eventually got up to leave nobody seemed to know where they had put our coats and to top it all they insisted on us paying for our drinks despite the fact we were staying on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. Front of house staff were fantastic and said they would reimburse us for the meals. It hasn't gone in my bank yet but they did say it can take ten days. Just an update. We received £60.00 back which is under half of what we expected. Better than nothing I suppose.

Nice food but the service is shockingly slow. Asked for water for the table twice but still nothing. No one has asked if I would like another drink and I’ve waited an hour and ten mins and only a cold starter has come out. It’s medium busy and I won’t be coming back

We booked for christmas day our serving was at 3.30. Our overall bill was £1100.00 £130.00 per head. The service was sloppy ,the main course lukewarm, parsnips burnt ,turkey rolled and hard and roast potatoes looked like they had been reheated. The baked aslaka christmas pudding dessert choosen by 6 ,all had to be returned. The christmas pudding base was frozen . Coffee and mince pies weren't served and after asking for them twice . The cups came without saucers and tea spoons dumped in the middle of the table. It took over 35 minutes fir drinks to be served. I really disappointing experience. We shared our experience with the manager ,who accepted the service was poor as they were under pressure and advised that other diners had returned desserts too. She offer a discount to try and recover the situation. It definitely wasn't a 4 star experience. Really disappointing

Quite draughty as is so large, not great ambience. Went for romantic meal , but bright lights on no candles etc. Not a big choice of soup, just one...pea and watercress which wasn't the best. Snacks of Olives, which were lovely and sourdough bread only complaint was the frozen butter. Had a ribeye and hubby the sirloin, cooked to perfection, don't get why you have to buy sides if its a mains.? Ordered 2 portions fries and a bottle of red wine. Good food good server's, just very slow coming out of kitchen. Not cheap paid £173.

We had dinner Friday evening no atmosphere, staff were really not interested and most of the time there were no staff in the dining room. Food was good but annoyingly our mains were served whilst still eating starters and no apology. Felt rushed. Very very disappointing won't be returning BUT special shout to sommelier/mixologist who was so knowledgeable and enthiastic he's the only reason I gave you a star for customer service

Food and atmosphere was quite nice, I really liked the experience overall. Only think I didn't like is that on the receipt there was 12% service charge that was not on the menu: the set menu was £40 and drink set menu was £35 so receipt should have only that. This service charge is like a scam

Popped in for breakfast. Fantastic interior: 13-lamp ceiling light fixtures, golden leaf wall fixtures, rhombic floor tiles, marble tables. Great service - the server brought me their continental breakfast which was amazing. Greek yogurt with all sorts of fruit including 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧. She also brought a doggy bag for copious amounts of fresh pastry. UPD. Today, again at breakfast, I had a truly 6* experience. Was served by 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 who made it 100% personal. I've never had servants, but from classical literature, this is how a gentleman should feel when being served by his manservant. No unnecessary movements, and always with a good suggestion. Devoured copious amounts of toast, salami, smoked salmon, coffee, yogurt, delicious raspberry confiture, and fruit. It's 6 p.m. now, and I'm still not hungry! Don't know 𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑎 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑎, just them one Turing. Will be back tomorrow! Their Villeroy & Boch cutlery is the best steel cutlery in the world. Who needs Paris?

We arrived at 7.10 and the person seemed annoyed that we were late. We hadn't been told a time and had asked if we needed to book at check-in and were told no. The food was mediocre on the set menu or as the table next to us described "uninspiring". The tomatoes on the starter looked like they'd been in the kitchen a week and tasted bland. The sausage and mash was ok, the fish cakes seemed to have little cod in them. The brownie was v cold, surely you want a brownie oozing chocolate not solid. Breakfast was ok, cooked was good and there was an egg chef. The pastries were hard and over done. The coffee machine tasted like it needed a good clean. There was no salt in any of the salt shakers on the tables around me. One of the waiters found some for me though.

I was surprised to see this restaurant on the Confidentials app, offering £25 vouchers for a £50 spend. I opted for the Confit Chicken and Morel Mushroom Terrine to start, followed by the Butternut Wellington for my main. I had no complaints about these dishes other than the portion size…miniscule! My friend ordered differently but found the same. When we got home, I pretty much made a second dinner. Perhaps we should have bought a voucher each, rather than sharing one. Drinks were expensive. Great place. Amazing steaks and grills. Food was beautifully presented from starters to desserts. Wasn't a fan of the starters except the scallops. Below average and that's being kind! Atmosphere: zero! Big room with very high ceilings, walls being a very light colour makes it look cold, furnished !Ike a glorified cafe serviifood. Service: polite but sloooow! Food: olion soup, no salt and missing flavours. Blue cheese sauce: litquid as pink in colour as mixed with red wine..and not tasking of blue cheese, the clue isnin the name BLUE CHEESE SAUCE! Not wine and cheese liquid! Rump steak, cooked very well indeed, side of spinach, very nice, side of parmesan and truffle: very little truffle and hardly any parmesan. Deserts good, cheese board could do with replacifancy crackers with normal cheese crackers but bigger quantity! Also, some rude hotel guests will use the restaurant as a shortcut to go check-in, passing throdiners with suitcases and the likes. They should be challenged and diverted to the hotel entrance! Overall: disappointing, we will not be back

Disappointing. Food was bland and pricey for what it was. The blue cheese sauce that doesn't taste of blue cheese. The fries that looked and tasted like supermarket frozen. Scallops were tiny and surprisingly bland. Service was slow and inattentive - had to wait about 20 mins and ask 3 times for a drink. The beer was flat. Couldn't blame it on being busy - there were only about 7 tables in for a Sat lunch. All in all - I'd have been better off going to a chain restaurant. Not what I'd expect from the midland.

Disappointed after our first visit since it was revamped. The decor itself is a great improvement on the boring grey scheme they had before. Unfortunately the food quality is not as good as it used to be. First course of roasted celeriac soup was ok but the main course of chicken turned up lukewarm with an incredibly thick jus and minus the truffled fries.Yes they took the cost of these off the bill but by the time they turned up I'd just about finished the chicken. The dessert of 'honey pudding' with lavender and white chocolate - well least said the better. One other thing that needs improvement is the menu: printed in a thin typeface green on off white our party had difficulty reading it. And please remove the silly placeholder text at the bottom.

I was disappointed with some aspects of this visit which is why I have only given four stars. We pre-booked our meal at Mount Street Dining Room for a Sunday around 2pm. When we arrived, there were plenty of spare tables and the staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks order arrived promptly but the food order took around 25 minutes for starters to be served. The House sourdough with honey and almond butter was basically six large slices of a loaf with butter. The BBQ sourdough bruschetta was a disappointment.. The sourdough was very, very lightly toasted and a single tomato had been cut into 6 pieces and covered in rocket. Unimaginative and bland. However, the Roast Pork Loin was very tasty and filing. The meal was let down by the starters but I would definitely give the venue a second chance. Reasonable value at under £60 for two. Finally, if you are arriving by car, there is plenty of parking for the Restaurant in the NCP underground car park behind the venue. There are also several disabled parking bays across from the venue opposite Starbucks.

Mr Cooper's was always our favourite restaurant in Manchester. After our visit to Mount Street, I think we will be on the look out for a new favourite. Service was slow, most of the wines we asked for were unavailable, the food was nice enough but nothing that couldn't be made at home. We visited earlier in the week which meant we were given a reduced menu (which still had a suspiciously massive selection of dishes) but they managed to forget to add the sides to the menu. My partner asked for a pesto sauce to be swapped on his main due to allergies which took a lot of back and forth between us and the kitchen for our waiter as initially the chef told us there was no alternative sauce so the dish would have to be served dry. I had to point out that there is a section on the menu specifically for sauces for the chef to give in. It does make us suspect that the sauces may not be made fresh to order as it is simple to whip up a pesto, without dairy, when requested. Overall, we were just very disappointed and underwhelmed. Hopefully this restaurant will polish up the service once it has been open for a bit longer, but I'm afraid we won't be returning to find out.

I asked for the children’s and was told it was coming .We’d eaten our starter before I asked again and it came out cold . Which was terrible but also Irrelevant in a way as we had already finished ours . The intermediate dish wasn’t sent out at all so we missed a whole course !!! The roast beef I had was full of tendons cartilage which should of been removed before been served and is totally inedible. The adults desserts came out cold and not the childrens again and we asked if it 3 times before they brought our kids desserts . Massively unhappy and disappointed as it has ruined our Xmas dinner. Disappointing experience here for my birthday. Was taken as a treat by a friend who had prepaid for my meal. Started promisingly with two tasty starters of scallops and truffle mushrooms on toast with a poached egg. Really delicious. Main course, my partner chose the beef cheek (delicious) and I chose the 10z sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and harissa salt chips. Then the wheels came off... I don't think the chips were salted at all. The peppercorn sauce was very sweet and not at all the peppery tang I'd hoped for. But the steak itself - 5oz of it was just pure fat. Pretty much inedible. I mentioned this to the lovely waitress who collected our plates and she agreed it was very fatty and said 'let me see what I can do'. Then watched her approach another staff member (youngish bearded guy in a suit), and show him the plate, at which point he then looked at our table and then shake his head! As if who we are and what we looked like made any difference to the fact that they served me a steak that looked like it had been cut from a blubber whale. One nice touch was a pre ordered happy birthday plate. Very nice surprise. Desserts we chose were the roasted pineapple and coconut - bother were not great. Ice cream was mostly melted on both by the time we got them. The first was a weird dessicated little shard of something coconutty and strange tasting pineapple. And the peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake was rich and claggy, which I'm afraid I found quite cloying. Honeycomb was good though. Then there was a long delay with the bill as the aforementioned bearded waiter forgot it. Then the bill was wrong which took more time to sort. And after all that they still added a service charge! And anywhere that charges £4.50 for a bottle of still water is just shocking in my book. Had high expectations but sadly only 3/6 dishes were decent and the service wasn't quite up to par - it felt a little chaotic. Not the best birthday experience alas. Photos supplied (note the fatty steak!).

I had been to Mr Cooper's previously for a birthday meal and possibly due to insufficient staff, I had found the service to be poor, (although my beef cheek main dish was delicious). Given the great reputation of Mr Cooper's, I emailed them about the extremely disappointing service and to their credit, the managerial staff offered for myself and my partner to return for a complimentary two course meal, and a cocktail. Having been this afternoon, our experience was everything that the previous visit had not been. The food was (still) fantastic but the service was friendly, attentive but never intrusive, from the moment that we stepped through the door. We went for a meal at Mr Coopers on Saturday night. First time for us. It was busy even for a Saturday night but the staff still were still attentive and friendly. We ordered 2 cocktails and our food from the waitress (who Introduced herself as frankie) and were convinced to try some of the homemade bread. The bread was delicious and a great recommendation! The food was quick and very tasty, however our cocktails took a while to arrive. Once we brought this up to the waitress she was quick in chasing them up and the manager agreed to take them off our bill which was kind of her. Service was amazing and very friendly. 100% would recommend a meal at coopers though maybe not on a Saturday night.

This is one of my favourite places to eat, however on this occasion I was a little disappointed. My husband and I don't eat meat but we do eat fish. I love Sea bass but this dish contained bacon. So I was left with a choice of Cod, a pasta dish or minty pea rissoto. I think the rissoto could be changed as this has been on the menu a long time and I think the veggie dishes could be a lot more exciting as there is so much more to do now for vegetarian dishes. I do like a rhubarb and ginger gin with ginger beer. Must be Fevertree it's the best. However I was given a gin not sure what flavour and a Fevertree ginger ale. Not good. Otherwise a nice atmosphere with a good vibe where you can have a conversation without having to shout. Service is excellent and our waiter on this occasion was great. He took off the price of my gin as it wasn't what I asked for and I just didn't like it

We dined at Mr. Cooper's for lunch and dinner on Sunday the 23rd of June. Both occasions were part of the "One-Night Spa Treatment" at the Midland Hotel. The service was some of the worst I've ever seen at any restaurant so far in my 27 years on this planet, to say it was slower than a snail would be an understatement. At lunch, since we were ordering off the pre-selected spa treatment menu, we seemed to have gotten pushed aside and forgotten about as more importance was put on all of the Sunday Roast Dinners instead. Several guests who had arrived way after us were treated with their Sunday Roast meals first, almost immediately upon sitting down. We arrived at 1:30pm for our lunch reservation, and didn't leave until roughly 3:00pm. The waiter never came to refill our waters after first placing them there or came by to let us know why the service was so slow or that we should expect delays. No communication whatsoever. Considering the portions for the lunch were small, and it was just two-courses, it made no sense to have waited longer to get our food. Once we had the food however, it was incredibly delicious, 10/10, but the service ruined the experience for us. For dinner, I'm afraid to say it was FAR worse. We arrived at Mr. Coopers at our 7pm reservation time. We did not leave the restaurant until about 9:45pm. We again ordered off the pre-selected spa treatment menu, ordering a 3-course meal. It made no sense why the service was so slow for dinner when virtually the entire restaurant was almost empty. We waited at the front by the desk for more than 15 minutes before a waitress came to bring us to our table. Then we waited 20 more minutes before our orders were taken. Once the orders were taken, we did not see our waitress again until we eventually got our food. We did not get the starters until about 40 minutes after we ordered. No one came to tell us why the service was so slow or that things might be slower than expected. At that point if we had not pre-paid for our meals as part of the Spa Treatment we would've left. Again, just like at lunch, more importance was placed on all of the Sunday Roast Dinners instead of on our meals. I don't know how long it took to receive our dinner entrees but it was way after 8:45pm. When we finished, we waited for our desserts and didn't get those until about 9:20pm. My starter and entree were perfect but the dessert was a disappointment thanks to the service. The top of my crème brûlée was cold, the fruit that came with it was soggy, it had clearly been sitting on the counter for God knows how long. It's a shame the food was so delicious and the service ridiculously poor. We will not be returning to Mr. Coopers again in the near future.

Food wonderful, service in bar excellent. Service in restaurant poor. Restaurant wasn’t overly busy either. Two members of our party only got half their meal. Had to ask for the salad which should have been served with their meal. Came when they’d almost finished their lunch.

The family who own this chippy are all nice and genuine people. However, the staff who work on the front are just plain rude and have no respect. The food is always great, just a shame I'm served by total idiots which clearly don't want to be there..

The food is good and perfectly fine, but the best thing about the food is good service Sandwich bread is baked when you order the sandwich And the Iraqi man on the shawarma skewer A very good and respectful man And a gentleman I advise you to try the restaurant, you won't regret it hopefully
