Fantastic customer service. My daughter forgot her cookie on Wednesday so we went in today to see if we could get another one. We didn’t even have to ask as the wonderful man serving remember her and a cookie duly arrived. Above and beyond in customer service. P.s the cookie was great as well

Such a lovely place you just can’t resist the smell of the bakes when you walk past!! Also, whoever’s playlist they used Friday afternoon 21/03 - you have impeccable taste 🕺

The best bakery in the area by far! We used to get Matt’s sourdough delivered during Covid and are now regulars at MOST. The breads and pastries are all excellent, it’s often hard to know what to choose.

Visited Most once before but this time I was quite disappointed. The pastries were both very very dry and mushroom and fennel danish was missing salt. The coffee was the worst coffee I have ever tried for my taste very very sour. Peanut and almond bear claw did not have much flavour and was dry, I have only eat top part and filling. Another disappointing thing is that they charge more if you wish to eat in compared to taking out, for some items price difference is even £1 if you wish to stay and eat in. By law service charge does not need to be payed and business should explain that prior to applying service charge. I would love to know if that service charge difference makes it to the staff or just ends up with the business owner.

I went to Most for croissants and similar for take away for my colleagues in the office. They have a great choice and all of the looked great. I tasted the almond croissant and a cinnamon pastry and both were very good. My colleagues also confirmed that all the other things were great.

Visited here today. Ordered a latte and a couple of “funfetti cupcakes”. The cupcakes were awful to the point that they were both binned; the icing tasted of pure butter, almost as though they’d forgotten the sugar element of buttercream. The girls serving were pleasant to me personally although I did hear them talking negatively about another customer who came in and requested a bagel at 2:15 on a Sunday afternoon. The staff behind the counter talked amongst themselves about how inconvenient it is when people come in and ask for bagels when they are closing soon (3pm). I found this unprofessional and would note that if the cafe is closing at 3pm it isn’t unreasonable to want to order food at 2:15pm.

My friend and I kicked off an Altrincham food tour with MOST, having received a recommendation to go there. A breakfast pastry in the form of a Pumpkin Spice Swirl was a fantastically sweet and autumnal start to it!

Had a breakfast bagel which was excellent. Very good coffee too. Wonderful selection of sweet pastries which I'm definitely going to come back to try.

I am truly lucky to live in Altrincham and have family owned MOST Bakery nearby. The bakes, cakes and service is always fantastic. Super exciting that MOST is now expanding to the new Altrincham Move Leisure Centre so we can't wait to enjoy MOST after my son's swimming lessons. Thank you all! Nina D

The girl who served us was nice, we ordered the turkey sandwich on the Christmas specials and I’m sorry but it was only half a sandwich and we felt like it was just bacon instead of turkey so we were kind of gutted about that, other stuff was fine

I should have left this review 6 months ago when I did the Sourdough Masterclass! Sorry Matt!! Firstly the masterclass itself- Matt made the whole concept of baking sourdough so much simpler than you would have believed- with his easy teaching manner, great food and a friendly group I can’t recommend it highly enough! The only downside is I am now a certified sourdough w***er so don’t buy as much from Most!!!! Secondly the shop- we have just had lunch and the place is just buzzing- Matt flies round like a whippet on whizz making sure staff and customers are ok- the food is incredible- don’t look further than the salt beef and Swiss cheese bagel. These are the local businesses we should be supporting and championing- keep up the great work!!!

I do not recommend the pies or pasties, we bought a cheese and onion, meat and potato and Cornish pasty. All three were nowhere near top value or quality in my opinion. The meat and potato pie had some awful water release when you took a bite.... uncomfortable to eat. the Cornish was bland and the cheese and onion was ok....not bursting with flavour but stood out from the other two. I'm really sorry to say I would avoid this shop.

Yesterday, I had an amazing afternoon on the Sourdough making course. We learnt about the process of making sourdough and most importantly, practiced the techniques; coming home with one cooked loaf and a dough which I am currently baking in my own oven. Can highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to learn / improve their knowledge and skill at sourdough baking. A fabulous birthday present.

Love this place! My boyfriend and I visit every time we're around Altrincham. It’s usually quite busy, but we don’t mind waiting—most of the time, service is pretty fast! The staff is always nice and friendly, and the baked goodies are consistently delicious. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Did a sourdough class with a friend. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, Matt is very engaging and enthusiastic and explains each step of sourdough baking in a way that is easy to understand and backed up with demonstrations and hands on baking. The lunch and wine were also delicious! 😋 A fantastic day …. also got to take home a sourdough loaf that we baked on site plus the sourdough that we made during the class to bake at home. Would definitely recommend and certainly excited about other classes mentioned in the new year. Thanks Matt! 😊

I’ve visited first time with my partner, we both had a really nice coffee and the customer service is absolutely perfect! Lovely people and a great atmosphere 😊 we’ll be coming back soon!

First time visit was very impressive. Returned this week and was very, very disappointed. Why is it that people are allowed to bring dirty, smelly dogs into an eating establishment? These selfish people let their dogs jump at people, sniff around under the tables, etc, and if you say anything, the answer is oh he won't bite. Some people are allergic to dogs!! Have some consideration for others and ban dogs from this cafe.

Attended a sourdough baking class in October and really enjoyed! The team were friendly and showed us the whole process, even gave us tips and a recipe to use at home. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys baking!

Pastries and cakes are nice, but today we bought 11 items of almost 7-8 variants to take away and noticed only when we got home that we received 9 items. Did not expect the need to count them before taking them home, especially when spending nearly £40 just on pastries. **Edited rating following refund and response from owner, thanks for responding and resolving this issue. Had the most wholesome Sunday afternoon , making sourdough at Most bakery. Lots of really interesting facts , history and information to really understand the process. The training was so well planned left with a delicious sourdough and one for the oven the next day which was equally delicious. Highly recommend the course at this beautiful family bakery.

The pistachio cupcake is simply heavenly. The pistachio spread in the centre was very very nice. I’ve also had croissants and some bread from here and was satisfied every time. Will definitely keep coming back here!

We stumbled across this bakery, instantly saw the sourdough selections. We went for a pistachio filled croissant, sourdough baguette, filled brioche key like pie donut and the beef and Swiss cheese bagel. If you love key lime pie and donuts, this is the perfect donut ever! Crumbly top, with a nice flowing filling and perfect sweet and tanginess of the like. The bagel was lovely and a perfect snack. If you love pistachio spread or anything familiar, it has a gooey pistachio in the middle when you break the croissant. So good. Truly recommend!

This is an adorable place serving the best croissants and pain au chocolat in entire South Manchester! Highly recommended.

Normally I go into Most to pick up pastries / bread but this time I ordered a birthday cake for my brother and it was delicious! The cake was light and soft and the icing was so moreish. Would definitely recommend.

I recently took the sourdough course at MOST bakery and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have tried making sourdough before but with limited success. Matt has such passion and enthusiasm for the product and demystified the whole process.I have since been able to reproduce an amazing loaf - although I’ll leave it in the oven a bit longer next time. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch. If you are interested in sourdough then this is the course for you. Brilliant!

Amazing food and great service. Especially love that you can bring your dog in - perfect place to visit after a nice long walk!

This happened a year ago, but since then I've spoken to two others who had the exact same experience, so here it is. Last time I went to Most, I was watching the staff-member make my order, and saw her stop making it to pet a dog that had just come in, getting all up in its face and feeding it something out of her hand.. and then she went back to making my order without washing her hands (I mean, she dipped her hands in the sink water for literally one second, which really does not count). I chucked my order in the bin and never went back. I thought maybe I had made a mistake or it was a one-off, but in the months since I've spoken to two others who saw the same thing happen with their orders so it's clearly a pattern. I hope by now the person doing this no longer works there but I had to say something incase she still does because it is a shocking violation of hygiene and I hate to think how many people's orders she's done this to. Still gets 2 stars overall, because the food IS really good, just sometimes it might have dog saliva in it.

This is BY FAR the best bakery in Altrincham !!! I could eat here every day, the bagels, pastries and bread are out of this world ! Great coffee as well !

Came across this lovely bakery with cafe what a lovely find,I had the coronation chicken sandwich and my mum had the bacon,lettuce and tomato on lovely baked bread in the cafe with a cup of tea.Staff were very nice and friendly,loads of bread for sale,cakes etc would definitely come back again 😊

Thoroughly recommend the sourdough bread making course. Had a wonderfully fun and informative afternoon with Matt. Food was delicious and went home with 2 sourdough loaves and starter, ready to begin my home baking adventure. Thank you Matt and team for sharing your knowledge and passion with us. Incredible range of interesting and innovative breads with a menu that gets updated to keep things new and exciting. Just tried the Indian spiced bread which was delicious!

Great cakes and artisan bread, all baked on the premises. Great cup of coffee. For those who like spicy food, I can recommend the chilli sourdough.

Normally I go to Most to pick up the amazing bread and bagels or to take my son for a pain au chocolate but this weekend I ordered a whole baked cheesecake for a party and wow - it was delicious. I ordered ahead to pick up on a Sunday and it went down a treat. Super fresh and very tasty. Definitely a winner when on desert duty!

Lovely café and people. As a French I am so happy to have a place to find croissants BUT I have to say that even thought everything is baked with love there is no wow effect. the croissant are far too buttery and leave you with a sickening effect rather than “I want more” feeling. There is no plain brioche, or plain viennoiseries, everything is dipped in cream and covered in sugar. the cinnamon bun for example don’t have to have that much sugar around them to be nice. I think the Bakery and Patisserie at Most is like an overaccesorised and overmakeuped person. a little bit is ok, too much is too far. But I am happy go back for a coffee and occasional croissant

This is a lovely bakery and the staff were pleasant but I was really genuinely disappointed in our purchases (to take away). We ordered a cinnamon bun, Oreo loaf, Bakewell tart and pistachio Paris-Brest. The cinnamon bun was good but not great, the Oreo loaf was stale and as well as the Bakewell and Paris-brest was flavourless. The Paris-brest verged on unpleasant. I’m hoping it was just an off day or bad batch and I’ll definitely try the breads at some point but I can’t recommend what we tried. It’s such a shame because it’s a lovely looking bakery and everything we bought looked lovely.

I had the Pesto cheese bun & my sister had the lotus biscoff bun & it was delicious! Will definitely go back on our next trip to Altrincham :) The drinks were also good!

A great place in altrincham. The service is always amazing! Popped in for some bits and was on the hunt for some fresh yeast, asked if they could sort me any and they happily did. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Tip: get the salt beef bagel, it’s superb.

One of the best bakeries in Altrincham as they not only do fab pastries, sandwiches (the chicken tarragon (chefs kiss)) and drinks but they also offer bread making classes. My husband and I went to the bread class and had such a good time. Very informative, told us all the additional info online that we can ignore, had a delish lunch with a glass of chilled white wine. We made sourdough from scratch, scored loaves and got to take it all home with us. Honestly there’s nothing I would change, so thank you!!

I must admit that I had been looking forward to trying this bakery after reading so many positive reviews. At first glance, I thought it appeared very promising. The man behind the counter was adorable and welcoming, the various bakes and bread looked delicious (as a Danish person, I feel I know what I'm talking about when it comes to sourdough and cinnamon buns), and it was clear that there were some regular customers- we were really excited! We ordered a cinnamon bun, one macchiato and a bagel with cream cheese and ham.  We had to wait a long time for our food, and when it arrived, I was very disappointed. First of all, the coffee was sour. This is what we told the people behind the counter, and we got a new one--just as sour, unfortunately... The bagel, which I was told came straight out of the oven, was simply not the right--and the ham? Sorry, but what was that...? Fortunately, the croissant was enjoyable; however, I will not be returning. It has potential, but it isn't there yet...

One of the best bakeries in Manchester, MOST has become a regular spot for me. You’ll often find it busy, but if they aren’t sold out the almond croissant is spectacular, the oreo/biscoff swirls are incredible too. It’s impossible to go back to any other bakery with comparing with MOST. To top it all off, you have great friendly staff, polite, courteous and I’m always greeted with a smile and a hello. 10/10

27/04/24: came again to Most and took away a traditional meat & potato pasty. Seemed very over baked, dry and a reduced filling when I got home. Also had a jerk chicken pie which was ok. Not the same experience as I had last time unfortunately. [Thanks Matt, for the reply & offer] 2023: Really enjoyed my take-away Meat & Potato pie, and someone REALLY enjoyed her Ham & Cheese croissant!

Exceptional coffee and an amazing Tuna Melt toastie. First time I’ve actually eaten in and the atmosphere and seating was perfect. The staff are so friendly. It’s a pleasure to come here.

This is my favourite go to place when I travel into Altrincham. The pastries are so delicious. The staff are so passionate about what they do it enhances the experience. Who would have known that a potato dauphinoise croissant was a thing - it’s definitely in my top 5 now.

This is a big statement, as the competition is high, but I reckon Most is the BEST bakery and coffee spot in Altrincham. Excellent sourdough, delicious pastries and a really, really good flat white. My go to for breakfast and sweet treats 👌

Fabulous afternoon on the sourdough course. Matt is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. came away with lots of bread and starter and now know how to use them! My son thinks their croissant are the best he has ever tasted, waking us up one morning to give us a sample to prove it!!

I did the sourdough baking class today and it was brilliant. Lovely place with a welcoming team. Matt made everything so simple and easy to understand. After becoming overwhelmed by online how to’s I found his teaching and methods stress free. We were served a delicious lunch and even a glass of vino. I’d recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to bake bread.

Our first visit to Altringham for a long time and we were delighted to find this authentic local bakery which offered a wide and creative range of bread and bakes. We enjoyed watching the bakers in action and the breads we tried were excellent.

5* for the bread and 1* for the Nutella Brownie. It was soft, textureless and didn't taste of Nutella or chocolate at all really. The nuts on top were soft too, so none of it was enjoyable.

Attended a sourdough bread making course as a birthday present . It was very informative . Delicious food & drink served during the course of the afternoon . Would definitely recommend. Very pleased with my first loaf baked at home too.

I regularly pop into MOST, so my wife bought be a sourdough book for Christmas along with a MOST breadmaking course. Attended yesterday afternoon. Fantastic, relaxed session. Came home full of coffee, wine, food and brought a loaf, and my very one dough ready to cook today. Pot of MOST "starter" in fridge for my own attempt later this week. Highly recommend if you want a fun day and to learn a new skill.

If you're paying £4.30 for a loaf of bread (the Malthouse loaf) you'd expect it to taste good. It didn't.

Croissant good, a bit greasy, we took a few home and had to scrape the solidified butter from the bottom. Salt beef bagel was sublime, no napkins provided or available on table. Cappuccino was cold.

One of my favourite lunch spots when I'm visiting. Great choice.

We have been buying their overnight oats bread and it is delicious. I would highly recommend it. Many thanks.

The bakery is an artisan experience, with the smell of fresh bread as you walk in, beautifully baked pasteries and goodies. They have a variety of delish lunch offerring. The service was quick, it was priced to its quality and a lovely treat for yourself.

A fantastic little bakery with beautiful bread and nice and service minded staff. I highly recommend the salt beef bagel to eat in and the multi seed sourdough to bring home. Definetley worth a visit!

Such a gorgeous place to visit and totally LOCAL which makes everything even better. Personal favourite is the marmite and cheese pastry. Could eat 3 in one sitting. Best sourdough and butties are to die for. Love a Sunday run to grab a loaf.

Beautiful sourdough bread and Danish pastries, we make a special trip to Most bakery every week for our bread and treat the kids to a much anticipated pastry. Almond croissants and pain au chocolat are delicious, amongst others, and they have interesting seasonal specialities throughout the year. The bread loaves are top notch, I’m so glad I now have an alternative to the awful highly-processed supermarket bread. There is also a great tasting and healthy food menu to eat on site, with beautiful coffee. Lovely people there, great service and a passionate baker, we warmly recommend MOST bakery to everyone!
