Morton Park Beefeater in Darlington

We were served by Leanne who couldn't be more accommodating, everything was excellent and we felt at home. James our chef was perfect all our food tasted great and was presented so nicely. Would definitely come again.

Have eaten here on quite a few occasions and have never had a bad experience. The food is always tasty, the staff are always friendly and it is very reasonably priced. It was nice to be recognised by a couple of the staff members, especially Leanne, on the latest visit despite not having eaten here in a little while. I always enjoy my visits and feel it is well worth the travel, living nearly an hour away. I am looking forward to my next visit

Decent breakfast but the coffee was better than expected. Jack L was particularly helpful and cheerful, a real asset to the establishment.

Went to eat with my dad, great atmosphere, staff and delicious food.

Staff very pleasant. Food was crap, anything in breadcrumbs ie deep fried was over cooked tasting burnt. Generic food at best, cost about £77 for 4 of us, wished I'd eaten elsewhere.

It took nearly 40 minutes for the food to arrive and was luke warm and mixed grill was terrible. The gamon was dry, the steak was meant to be rare was more than well done. It took over 10 minutes just to get a second pint. We sat with plates on end of table for over 15 minutes before getting child's desert. Members of staff never smiled the entire time. I hate complaining, but there was only about 8 tables of people in so I'd understand if it was chocker but there was almost 1 staff per table?? How can the service and food be so terrible?? Never going back.

Me and the wife were recommended by a friend to try the beefeater for breakfast so as it was my birthday yesterday the wife treated me. We arrived here for breakfast around 10.20 to be told it finishes at 1030. The gentleman in a black shirt met us at the door and soon found us a table and told us to help ourselves to teas and coffee and toast and cereal. He then took our breakfast order. Which arrived to our table very promptly so we were really please with that. And when I left to pay our bill I said to the same gentleman black shirt lol compliments to the chef who is called jane apparently so well done jane. And we'll done to the rest of the staff on shift yesterday morning. We will defo be back for breakfast. Keep up the good work 👌👏👊

Lovely evening meal, food was great and service was amazing - looked after by ‘Leanne N’ who could not have been anymore helpful, constantly running around to serve, help etc. Very friendly, this kind of customer service makes all the difference.

Took over 30 minutes to come to take our food order. Out of 8 meals 3 had to be returned. One competely wrong, one steak ordered as medium rare and came well done, then a burger that was near cremated. The person tried to eat it and when they couldn't and mentioned it to the manager was advised they should have mentioned it sooner (bearing in mind we had already had to return two meals by this point) then they said sorry. Yes a replacement was offered for each, but the rest of us had finished eating by the time they came out. Poor experience. The food that was done correctly was good, but the service let it down.

Food arrived 45 mins after ordering it and even though the bar was empty it seemed like an eternity to get a drink

Visited here this afternoon and have never felt so unwelcome in an establishment. Asked for a Madri was told very bluntly ‘no’. When told no and asking why, I was informed there was a ‘glass on top of the tap’. Whilst being berated, I furthermore was told that a glass on top a tap means that the barrel needs changing. I mean, it costs nothing to be polite and not abrupt, but how is an average person supposed to know because you put a glass on top of something, the barrel needs changing. To add to insult, sat down (whilst ordering food) a lady with an Eastern European accent stormed up to mine and my partner’s table and said ‘your not ordering food you need to move there’. Had my garlic flatbread, pint and left. I found the establishment very imitating, rude and disrespectful to customers. I visited Toby Carvery (earlier on in the day) and found their service/food impeccable and would highly recommend that you visit there instead!

The food was terrible and over priced, the greeter was unwelcoming and made us feel like we were an inconvenience! The only shining star was our waitress, I think she was called Leanne, she was friendly, helpful and attentive thank you.

Great food. One of the best burgers I've had in a pub. We were served by Lisa who was very friendly and kept our drinks topped up.

My go-to place for all you can eat breakfast on a Sunday. Sunday are best as it's self service rather than ordering from your table. There's coffee and tea, all your English breakfast favorites plus juices, fruit, cereals, pastries, toast and yogurt. Top tip, get there before 9 to avoid the rush!

Went for tea worst food over cooked chicken, warm lettuce fillet steak was frozen and watery came in 2 pieces will not be going back

Probably one if the worse meals we've ever had! Salmon overcooked, completely dried up at one end served with cold fries. The side order of vegetables, costing over £3, were overcooked and unedible. Fries replaced but came after I'd finished the salmon. My partners grilled chicken breast and ribs were completely overcooked and dried up. Sweetcorn like rubber. This was sent back and a replacement meal came out. Slightly better but appalling quality. My partner left most of it. Terrible food poorly cooked. Compensation- a glass of house wine. Stay away and eat elsewhere.

Premier Inn breakfasts can be a bit hit or miss but this is one of the good ones. Staff are really friendly too.

food was not nice I hot the 4 starters only thing that was ok was the chicken strips came out feeling sick its definitely not the beat for the price as well. got prawn they came out cold and tasted awful very rubbery just wouldn't go back

This will be the first and last experience I will ever have at the beefeater darlington as me and my friend turned up to try the all you can eat breakfast as we have heard great things on the service and quality of the business. So we stood for a good 10 min before been served by a member if staff who instantly didn't make us feel welcome he found us a table at the far end of the pub which there was multiple empty clean tables we could of sat at. But we discovered why he was rude and abrupt and it was because we didn't book in advance before arriving and also that the kitchen was shutting early, we had 4 min to order so we felt like we were put on the spot so as we told him it's was okay we go elsewhere he just stormed off.. never in my life I have had dismel customer service and hospitality. I hope for future custom he can change is attitude for better.

Booked in for Sunday Dinner at 5.30pm, only to be told (again), that there was no Sunday dinners left, they had ran out at 2.30pm. This is the second time recently that we have gone there for Sunday dinner and been disappointed, the first time they told us they had run out at 2pm! A family followed us in and they too were told this, they were very disappointed too. I chose the chicken and rib combo and was told that they'd run out of fries and only had the bigger chips, the family ordered a sauce for a steak and was told that they didn't have that either! Come on Beefeater, who is doing the ordering of food to be running out of so many things by the dinner time service? that's ridiculous. We won't be going back there for Sunday dinner, as we won't risk it again. The service was good, apart from being told about the lack of items, the food was okay, nothing special, I wouldn't go there for a special occasion though. Cheap and cheerful.

No staff, waited 20 mins at entrance to be told because we hadn't booked we would have to wait longer! Restaurant half empty, plenty of tables. Absolutely disgraceful lack of service. Gave up and went over the road to Morrisons.

Food was what you would expect from a beefeater restaurant and our waitress was lovely unfortunately the manager appeared stressed and was unhappy about us turning up without a reservation even though the restaurant was not overly packed at any time during our meal. He appeared visibly stressed and frustrated whenever new customers came in asking for a seatdurimg out time there, this is not exactly a good atmosphere to enjoy your meal in

Waited over 20mins to get order taken then a further 45 mins for our main course and 20 mins for desert where I had to chase the manager within a minute we had it.. poor service 😢 not many in restaurant either so we're not rushed of there feet

Second days in a row in a ,,meal deal" came to eat arround 18:30 its already 19:30 not seen my meal so far. Yesterday similar situation took almost 2h to get a main dine plus dessert strongly unrecommended

6 of us went on Christmas Eve for lunch, everyone’s meal was perfect. Lots of food and well cooked all at reasonable prices. We were very happy with our visit and will go back.

We had been shopping locally, having finished, we needed something to eat. We hadn't used a Beefeater in years, so we thought we would give it a go. Quickly shown to our seat, drink order taken & arrived promptly. All the waitress was friendly & helpful. On ordering our main meal, the waitress suggested I have my ribeye steak, medium rare rather than rare, so that tye fat was rendered down more. Great advice. With had sticky toffee pudding, in her opinion not the best. I enjoyed my apple pie. Overall, a good & enjoyable meal. Would we return, yes.

Leanne was absolutely amazing a credit to the place, service was spot on and the rest of the team couldn’t do enough to help, food was gorgeous and piping hot. Thanks a lot for a lovely evening we will be back soon :) From the girls at Preston farm

Very friendly and welcoming. We had a slight problem with our table, which was sorted immediately and without fuss. The food was good. An enjoyable visit. Definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely meal and staff member was very friendly, chatty and attentive. I don't know her name but she's a West Ham fan. I couldn't downgrade the review,even though West Ham beat my local team Nottingham Forest recently, haha.

Why on earth a restaurant that size has only one coffee machine is beyond me. I had got my cooked breakfast and then went to get the coffee to go with it but had to stand in a queue for 15mins and therefore my cooked breakfast and toast were cold. Had I done it the other way about the coffee would've been cold. The noise was awful, there was nothing to absorb the noise.

Appalling service! Food cold, clearly understaffed! Tried to pay 3 times and staff kept just walking off! Daughter ended up with no pudding!

Went there tonight - with the little one. it took 1 hour from ordering food to getting it - food was barely warm. We left alot of it and waited for the staff to come and take the plates away and give the little one her ice cream that came with her meal. 20 mins nothing... i asked twice. Finally we decided just to get the bill. They brought the bill and never came back so i ended up having to go to the bar to pay. I was then told to go to the other side of the bar. Other customers seem to ask for the manager so sounds like we weren't the only ones. Wont be using again, they need more staff and a manager who can mange

My wife and I Had a roast turkey dinner here. We came back as the meal we had a few months ago was pretty decent for a chain food restaurant. Well that has changed dramatically. £37 for 2 dinners and 2 cokes. The roast potatoes were rock hard and dry, the Yorkshire pudding was flat and hard, the stuffing balls were like fishing weights, the turkey was dry but ok. Carrots and peas were fine. Sorry won’t be back.

I haven't been here for a few months but nothing has changed, Leanne yet again was fantastic, the food was 5 star. Great job Team Darlington 👍

Visited Monday tea-time. Place was very busy mainly, it seemed, with workmen. We hadn't booked but they found us a table. However, it became so noisy that we left without ordering anything. If, like us, you are a family looking for a relaxed evening meal then maybe avoid Beefeater on a Monday evening.

Excellent service as always. Jack served us tonight and nothing was a bother for him at all. Really polite and respectable towards our party. Dan (who has also served us in previous visits) also came over to see how we were doing since our last visit and went out of the way to do it. Cracking evening and the food was delicious, and arrived in good time for a party of 6. 😊

Its ok if your staying in the hotel for the night, breakfast was great.

Went on Saturday with the family and some friends 4 adults 3 children. Starters of chicken wings, calamari and chicken gougons were all lovely. Mains we had sirloin steak which in my opinion was not a sirloin it was poor quality grissly and awful. I say it wasn't a sirloin as it didn't appear to look anything like one. We ordered 2 fillet steaks approx £21 each and these 2 were poor quality, again grissly and poorly cooked. All the steaks were cooked medium medium rare and all were tough as leather. A child's portion of sausage and mash was had too and that was average the sausages could of been better. They were more chipolatas. Also the main food took forever to come out my partner had to ask the staff at the bar where the food was as it wasn't particularly busy and we had children. Puddings of a sundae and chocolate brownie were both delicious.

Stopped for lunch while car shopping in the area. Food was of a good quality and well priced. Service was a little bit off with some confusion over drinks and issues behind the bar.

The family stayed at the Premier Inn attached to this Beefeater. Staff are super friendly but one that is outstanding is Leanne. She's an utterly outstanding host the likes of which I haven't seen in silver service restaurants! The kitchen staff should also be praised for the perfect medium sirloin steak. Highly recommended and I hope you have Leanne on shift.

I had a couple of issues with my meal, however the way the manager dealt with it was spot on, normally a bad meal is enough to put me off a place but the customer service we received was outstanding and for that alone I'd go back, my husbands meal was perfect he said so I'm confident it was just a "one off"

My partner and I went for Sunday lunch. I had the lamb and he had the beef. The plates came and had clearly been microwaved to heat them up because I burnt my mouth on the parsnips and the meat was rubbery. Not as advertised... Pink in the middle for extra flavour. The less said about the roast potatoes the better. Burnt to a crisp but soggy with the microwave. You've lost two customers for sure.

The food is nice and the waiting staff are friendly and chatty but, the service is a little hit or miss. You either get rushed through your meal or you get left 20 minutes waiting for a drink. There doesn't seem to be a happy middleground. Like I say though, food is nice, and they accept blue light which makes it even better.

Dropped in on the Off chance of a decent steak and was not disappointed Ash the chef can really cook a good steak I asked for mine rare and it came absolutely on point beautiful no fat or gristle very tasty. Othere in our party asked for various preferences for there steak all was cooed to perfection will definitely be returning

I persuaded my friend to try the Beefeater around 1.15pm today. I was sorely disappointed when we stood waiting to be taken to a table. The restaurant was not busy but we were ignored by two members of staff that were chatting at a service point close by. The young lady then came towards us but went straight by saying her male colleague wouldn’t be long. How wrong she was , he just walked to the other end of room,disappeared then returned to talk to another customer. He then returned to his original service point. At this stage the barman tried to attract the waiter who continued to ignore us. I have mobility issues and couldn’t stand around any more so we left the restaurant to find a venue that provide proper customer service. Obviously I can’t give my opinion on the food as we never managed to get any. I feel staff should be given training in welcoming customers even if it is only to give them a seat and perhaps a menu.

Fairly typical chain restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food is typical chain food. It was OK. We would go there again.

We went for a nice meal to finish the weekend. The Staff helped with food allergens as we entered and gave sheets to look through. After ordering, they further checked allergens and found some trace and double checked before preparing foods. The atmosphere was good apart from a table next to us changing their order after the fact then not saying about everyone's allergens until they were given food (one person said they had it and no one else, then three had it when served). They were rude to staff and as much as the staff tried to help, they didn't want food taken away and just a discount offered as allergen food is done separately. Staff were friendly and supportive and tried to help as much as possible but can only work with what they are informed of. Our food was very tasty, and just really nice time.

I'm a regular here....food is luvly. The calamari is amazing. Very kid friendly which is great for our energetic 2 year old. Never had a bad meal here. Staff are very hrkpful & friendly

We opted for the all you can eat breakfast menu for £9.99. The choice was vast and the cooked breakfast came out piping hot. Our server was Tracy. She was very friendly and helpful. We explained we were coeliac and straight away we were given the allergies advice sheet.

Been many times before. Booked online when arrived got advised that there was a 40min wait for food. But that was fine. Got given a list of food that wasnt avilable. Went to order and they didnt have that either so we reordered and the food was good. But the fact that we were sat next to 40 kids was a let down i feel that they should of advised us of it. We couldnt talk to each other as it was too noisy.

Great service, however the guy at the bar in the glasses stared directly in my eyes freakishly whilst pouring my pint. They could also do with a couple more tvs cant see the football from where im sat 👍

2 hour wait for food. Staff were sick of their life which is fair enough but making customers feel like a total inconvenience? Not good enough, one of the members of staff was quite rude she was possibly even the manager if she has dark shoulder length hair in her 40’s. Food was terrible ,very dry chicken. Missing half the food on the plate. Oven chips labeled as tripple cooked chips, got 7 scraps of chips spread over the plate. Frozen brownie. All the meals were terrible. Coke was watery. Honestly I’d give this place a miss you’d get a better meal at McDonald’s, what a shame as this place was fair-decent years ago.

Am afraid to say food was dreadfull breaded calamari and beef burgers cooked in the same fryer is not a good taste guys my plate of chips with burger was seeped in veg oil from the fryer Such a shame as the staff were great hey ho live and learn . Another one to avoid

Appalling service went for a meal. The guy said it will be 5to 10 mins for a table. There was 2 party’s of more than 2 came in after us and they were took to a table before us. We sat for 30 mins and still hadn’t been taken to a table so left. Absolute disgraceful

We waited a long time for our food my partner had the mixed grill he requested med/rare for his steak it was well done his gammon was cremated egg was under done my side dish was served 10 mins before meal came will not be back

Not A Great First Impression For My First Time Trying Out A Beefeater (Group of 4, including Wheelchair User), Upon Entering Got Asked If We Wanted To Eat, Then got told they would put us near the Window due to my nanna being in a wheelchair and they didn’t want her getting in the way of anyone else, baring in mind there wasn’t too many people in at the time, got asked if we wanted drinks said give us 5 minutes, the next person turned back up to our table 20-25 minutes later which by this point we were thirsty, It then took at least 10-15 minutes for our drinks to actually turn up, then Our order got took, We ordered two steaks Medium & Two Lasagnes, One With Meant to Be Triple Cooked Chips and one with salad, Also The Two Steaks Came With Supposed Triple Cooked Chips, Can only describe the Chips as Door Stops That Didn’t remotely feel Cooked never mind Triple Cooked, One Steak Turned up & it was Rare which wasn’t how it was asked for & Both Lasagne’s were just Sauce with a sheet of pasta and some cheese on the top, they were very bland, Starters weren’t too bad, Didn’t Feel Very Welcoming At All, Don’t Think I Will ever be visiting a BeefEater in a Hurry

Friday night family meal out, staff were friendly and service was good. Non drivers had Rubarb Gin, selection of starters - salt and pepper calamari, chicken goujons and Cheesy Wedges. Mains- chicken melt with fries and trio of steaks - unfortunately no room for dessert but they looked nice

Not up to Beefeaters' usual standard. My steak & ale pie was ok. My other half ordered a build your own burger. Chicken breast, cheese and pulled beef. When it came it was so soggy it was impossible to pick up as the bun fell apart. The beef was £2 extra but didnt mind that until it came. there were 2 cubes of beef! Really!!? £1 each?? When we asked if this was right we were told that was the portion control but they'd knock it off the bill. For dessert the apple pie looked nice, but if you order the chocolate brownie ask for a pick axe to get into it. Next time we stay at this Premier we will eat elsewhere.

Great breakfast and terrific service from all the lovely staff. Excellent value 🙂 Would have been 5 stars but the restaurant is looking a bit worn and the windows were in desperate need of a good clean. Just needs a bit of TLC by the Company (Whitbread plc) 😕

We visited on Dec 29th before going to see the panto the food was lovely and at £9.95 for 2 courses the price was fantastic ....i have to mention our waitress Leanne who was wonderful and a great asset to your company ..we will definitely visit again ...

Arrived at 09:05 ordered a diet coke straight away and asked for a few moments to look at the menu. At 09:43 I chased up the diet coke which had clearly been forgotten about. Got told this was because the coffee machine was broken and they were hand making the coffees.... There was no one at the bar making any drinks and numerous tables behind us and much larger had been served their hot drinks. Finally got to order food about 09:55 and food arrived very quickly after. Really not worth the wait at all.

Worst Xmas meal ever.... turkey was from a pkt of meat slices from Morrisons...three roast potatoes two were burnt vegetables this side of raw absolutely disgusting...will not be coming here ever again for Xmas dinner..

I received an email as a member saying we could get a free child’s three course festive meal with an accompanying adult meal. When we got to the restaurant the manager refused to go or it, telling us that the voucher had been printed wrong and we could only get a main meal and not what was on the voucher. This is extremely misleading to send out vouchers that your restaurants aren’t going to honor. We went out as a family of 6 thinking we had a voucher to use and weren’t disappointed and left without buying any meals and will not be returning as your vouchers are a con and not honoured by you restaurants despite it saying in black and white that the voucher covered the festive menu. Not only that but the manager had us sat around waiting over 20 minutes while he checked the terms of the voucher to then still come back and refuse it. Disgusting service

Breakfasts are the best for families with children, food always good, cocktails aren’t great.
