One of the places you don’t even question as the turnover is so great. I thought Coffee in Mayfair cannot go wrong! I sat inside & soon after a regular came with his basset hound dog from the rain! The gentleman, whom I supposed was the owner, fed the dog a couple of chicken meat ( or else ) pet the dog profusely, even went outside to continue doing so,…. Came back in and carried on making sandwiches & handling food!! YES you guessed it, no hand-washing in between……

Stumbled upon this place by chance, we were shopping nearby and were looking for a place to have a drink and a snack, and this place turned out to be just perfect for that. The place was full and very busy, which is always a good sign, but we found the [last] free table inside. We had a Toasted Sandwich and a Meal Sandwich and a hot and cold drink, all of which tasted very nice. I recommend this place if you are a little hungry and nearby.

What a little gem in the heart of London. Needed a pit stop and had the best cup of tea x2 and mocha. The food looked and smelt really nice, we had dinner reservations and didn’t want to spoil our appetite otherwise would have ordered food. Absolutely lovely guys serving, very friendly and welcoming. Used the restroom downstairs and noticed how spotless everything was. Would recommend and return. Thank you 🫶🏻

I sat outside to have a coffee, on the table next to me a man was on the phone loudly swearing and laughing. I was shocked that the staff didn’t intervene but it turned out he was actually the manager! After finishing his hilarious blue phone call the man went back inside and resumed his position behind the counter. Disappointing behaviour for a place that charges £7 for a coffee and danish, I won’t be going back.

I used to get lunch there often but this will be the last time. They used to sell pasta for like £6.50/7. With the Eat out to help out scheme, they increased their price to £10.50. You don’t increase your menu with the eat out scheme. So there’s no point to get a meal there really. They are not really honest with the price they charge. And the portion is small. None of my colleagues say the price they charge is worth.

Not at very nice place. We were practically thrown out after 20 min. Because they wanted to give our table to other customers. They charged us double for the bland tasting sandwiches we ordered, because, "they belonged to the takeout menu". All in all a not a place I would ever come back to.

Terrible place calculating on a unique location. Take-away sandwiches is white toast and very simple filling. No sauces, no spices, no flavor at all. If you order them to eat in the cafe they are priced like their ordinary sandwiches...the very hasty and close to rude waiter didn’t inform of this, so you just get lousy overpriced food. The room is small with way to many seats so you have to be squeezed in. As soon as you have grabbed the last bite the plates are removed and the bill presented. If you are to slow to pay at the counter he starts to set the table for the next guests while you’re still there!!!

Popped in for breakfast had two full English breakfasts and two coffees which was £30. Doesn’t sound extortionate until you understand we each had one horrifically undercooked poached egg which was floating in water, a spoonful of cold beans, two rashers of barely cooked bacon and one overcooked sausage. It was such a small plate of food we needed some toast to make it even feel that we had eaten. It is another example of London restaurants who know that they will always have trade so there was no quality ingredients and no quality of how it is prepared or served. I felt robbed, I wouldn’t go here again if they offered to pay they clearly don’t care about the customers just making easy money for food I’d be embarrassed about serving at home! My advice is steer clear for breakfast at least!!

Me and my friends were looking for someone to eat after attending a tv show recording that was being filmed nearby. This ‘cafe’ was the only place advertised in the surrounding area so we thought it would be a nice place to check out. We were SO WRONG. There’s only around 4 tables and if you want to go to the toilet you would have to enter the food storeroom downstairs which is really weird. Also the food is definitely overpriced and not the kind of quality you would expect. My friend ordered a mozzarella and tomato salad which was £7.50 and what arrived was 3 measly pieces of cheese and tomato with a bit of coriander on top for decoration?? For 7.50 you could easily have gotten a good meal from elsewhere. I ordered a meatball sub which was tasty but was small and not worth the £10! Total was £17.50 which could have easily gotten us a good meal from a restaurant with plenty to spare- the prices should have been £3 from the quality that you are getting. I understand it’s a family run business but if people are paying a lot of money for one item of food, it’s important that the quality lives up to the price, otherwise what are you even paying for? The service was mediocre, we were practically shoved out after a group of businessmen entered as there were only 4 small tables! Never returning, hope they change the prices or increase the food quantity.

Called in for breakfast with a couple of work colleagues looking for a fry up. I had a ham and cheese omelette and ask for some salad with it. Also a bottle of water. The omelette turned up, 3 eggs worth with not enough salad for half a sandwich. The other two had a full English each which was without toast or tea, both extra. The full English consisted of 2 bacon , 1 sausage, hall a spoonful of cold beans, and an over cooked poached egg. We were then charged on leaving £11.80 for mine, and £15.50 each for the other two. We left hungry and feeling ripped off.

I cannot comment on the food in this cafe as we only popped in for a drink, we had 2 cans of coke and a bottle of water which came to £9.00, I really thought I had misheard the waitress or it was for someone else but when I asked her to repeat our bill it was the £9.00 price tag, to say I was shocked at the price was an understatement. No prices just items on board and display. We had a chicken coronation salad each with two bottles of water and received a scribbled bill for £43.85 which included "service" to take the plate from the counter. I expected about £20-£25 so queried the total; a complete top-up so the lady offered to cancel the "service". Also food was stale leaving a metallic aftertaste but paid £40 to save further discussion. Even if the snack was amazing it would have been expensive, plus the tables are minuscule and the chairs uncomfortable. In context the Caprice where we were supposed to go but could not wait for a table charges £15 for a similar salad. By the way, I've never written a negative review before but this place takes such a liberty.

We usually lunch at The Morris when visiting the RA but never again! I've previously found it to be reasonably priced and friendly as others have commented.I felt cold and decided on vegetable soup after being reassured by the waitress that it was quite 'substantial'.The thinnest vegetable soup I have ever been served arrived with a few tiny discs of 'italian' bread (extra at £2:95) and a tea. My friend ordered coffee and apple pie with cream. She was charged a whopping £7.50 for the apple pie. The menu mentions only 'Speciality cakes' at £3.95.When querying the bill, the waitress said merely that the manager does not put the price on the menu. Now I know this is Mayfair but surely it's still bad practice to hide prices? Adding insult to injury, we felt rushed throughout so that staff could give full attention to an expected lunch party of about seven, who arrived shortly after we'd sat down, bringing a huge Labrador (NOT a guide dog) into the cafe with them.

This place is an insult to Italy. Incredibly over priced and totally useless food, a jacket potato was £9.00 and so I thought this is Italian, try a pasta..but of course my heart sunk, when it was selected from the counter and popped in the microwave. It was then served to me absolutely boiling hot and as soft as anything with a oily tasteless sauce, I was charged for this treat £9.50.. This is just not going to last, in this day and age when you have new, innovative, generous and exciting restaurants where you can eat much better for the price, there is no place for this rip off lazy kind of excuse for Italian food. My diet coke was served without ice in a beaten up glass. I wouldn't have minded anything else if some pride had been taken in the food, but i feel like they're just trying to get away with it. I feel like they have a prime location and could be doing an awful lot more with simple fresh ingredients and a decent simple menu.
