A special spot in London's center, offering a taste of Italy with high-quality Apennine products you probably won't find elsewhere in the city.

I visited Eataly on May 8, 2024, around 9 a.m. Customer care is a joke there, particularly the lady at the information point. There was no “Good morning” or “How can I help you?” What a shame that her apathetic attitude set the tone for my experience.

As others have said, this is an incredible place. Several restaurants, eateries plus a wealth of Italian food and wine on offer. Why the poor review? Well, we ate at Pizza e Pasta which was nice but several dishes had ingredients missing (why didn’t they just get some from their own shop?). We were not offered any discount because of this and a chunky ‘service’ charge was added to our bill. The most basic Pizza / Pasta dishes were close to £20 each so it’s not cheap. The shop parts were lovely and I would have been filling my basket if the prices had been reasonable.

We came here for our anniversary last night. The service was good although the waiter was slightly rude and was hesitant to give me extra cheese when I asked. I had the bolognese and it was extremely disappointing. I’ve genuinely had more flavour in the £1 Iceland bolognese ready meals. It was overwhelmingly bland and dry. Nice atmosphere and a good shop, but don’t bother with the restaurant.

After paying a lot of money to be in a location to watch the Milan derby on my laptop. I chose Eataly and a selection of cured meats from the fridge and some Porchetta from the deli with some cheese. The guy serving on the counter could barely talk to me or acknowledge any of the customers. I asked for 150g Porchetta to which he hand carved two big chunks of it - odd, I thought he would use the meat slicer - however as most of the deli was ready to close down I sense it had been cleaned early. I went down to the main atrium and got a seat. The porchetta hadn't been cooked properly - It was chewy and the fat had not been rendered down at all. What a shame. As im a big fan of Eataly I decided to give feedback in the form of an email. I have been to the one in Bologna and Milan multiple times over my many trips each year - so I would like to think I know what the standards are. I felt my email was not dealt with particularly well and was made to feel like I was an idiot. See excerpt below: "The situation you have described is far from the level of customer service and high standards we aim to provide, and we are very sorry that this happened to you. We suggest our customer to warm up the porchetta before to eat. We do not have any other claims from customers about this particular issue, therefore we must assume this has been an isolated event. Have a nice evening." To which I replied: "Ok, just to confirm - the Porchetta you serve from the Deli upstairs is not ready to eat and requires heating but the Porchetta from the fridge is? Could you also advise if normally the Porchetta on the deli counter is carved by hand or is it usually sliced on the machine?" and the final reply: "The porchetta we sell is ready to eat. We suggest to warming up the porchetta, because in that way the fat will be melt and will be better to eat and more succulent. Kind regards," All in all - If you are going to this location - I would purchase from the fridge as the meats imported for the fridge are cooked and served correctly but the deli and overall customer service is lacking. I gave good option for a good customer bounce back, I wasn't asking for anything for free, but was made to feel stupid and wrong. As a chef for 20 years and a traveller to Italy around 8 times a year - I was just expecting that famous Italian hospitality and food and unfortunately on this occasion I did not receive it. Richard

Had dinner at Pizza e Pasta. Lovely spot in a cool setting. Food unfortunately very average: one of the least impressive pizzas I've had and my Bellini was excessively sweet. My friend's pasta was also decidedly average. The calzone and gnocchi was apparently quite good. Service wasn't great, one waiter in particular was somewhat rude. Overall would not recommend, some of the most disappointing Italian dining experiences I've had.

I know that's literally what happens in London bars all day every day but the game you're meant to play is making us feel special so we happily part with our cash guys. The team tonight didn't really get it. Not very smooth. Shame as it's a beautiful venue and very convenient location. If the team were better at hospitality they'd make a lot more money.

Last evening, around 20:45 - 21:00 on April 23, 2024, at the Eataly coffee shop in Liverpool Street, I intended to purchase three coffees for myself, my spouse, and my cousin. During the payment process, I asked to stamp my loyalty card, but the cashier informed me that only one stamp could be issued per transaction. I expressed my disbelief at this policy, suggesting that I could make three separate transactions to acquire the coffees. However, I was informed that such a thing was not possible for the same individual and that it needed to be done by different persons. Seeking clarification, I called for a supervisor(she) and explained the situation to the one nearby, but they were unyielding. Afterwards, I said then my spouse and cousin could come and get their coffees separately, making it three different people in total. Despite my insistence, they rudely refused to allow me to proceed with the separate transactions. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was informed that they were not available at that time. When I asked for the supervisor's name, they bluntly refused to provide it. As I moved towards the restaurant section to inquire about the manager, I coincidentally encountered another supervisor named Salvo, to whom I explained the situation. He attentively listened to me and acknowledged that I was in the right. However, he regretfully stated that he couldn't intervene as it wasn't under his jurisdiction. He even mentioned that a similar issue had been reported by another customer the previous day, indicating a recurring problem that needed addressing by management. Totally, it's disappointing that the loyalty card system is implemented in such an illogical manner, seemingly undermining the intelligence of customers. Additionally, the staff at the coffee shop were both rude and unhelpful. Anyone considering visiting should think twice.

We ate at Terra and probably should have read some reviews before hand. I've been for dinner at Eataly a few times but was my first time eating at Terra. Service was a bit erratic but polite apart from when I asked for mayonnaise to accompany the chunky chips we had ordered to share. The waiter instead brought over an orange coloured condiment which turns out they charged us £2.50 for which we only found out when the bill arrived. It was labelled as garlic mayonnaise which isn't what I ordered and I'm not sure it was what we received. Whilst the ragu was nice it wasn't so nice it made up for the place serving chips and charging for condoments. You can't serve chips and charge for condiments (I mean you definitely can do what you want but its a wild approach). I would probably not return again to Eataly.

UPD 18 April 2024: Speaking of service and how the company neglects its customers: below you can see my review of a visit to the restaurant. A staff member from Eataly commented underneath, expressing regret about my experience and asking to email for further communication. I immediately emailed, attached a screenshot to avoid confusion. That was 3 weeks ago. And nothing. No one even replied to me. It was just a show of activity and a show of dealing with an unhappy customer. You can see how company representatives respond on Google Maps to your reviews, and it seems like they care, but in reality, they couldn’t care less about their quality, improvement, and their customers. ___________ 27 March 2024: It was an extremely disappointing experience. We waited for our food for 40 minutes, watching as others around us enjoyed their pizzas and pastas. When our order finally arrived, it was quite strange: the pasta with 2 two types of mushrooms was just pasta with the simplest mushrooms, which you can find in Tesco. Nothing special, no salt, no taste, no Italian mushrooms. Pizza with Burrata was ok, but I can say only “Ok” about it. The salad with Mozzarella and tomatoes (also 40 minutes of waiting) was a joke. It was the worst type of tomatoes that doesn’t have any taste or flavour. I think you know this type, the cheapest in the cheapest grocery. But I regularly buy tomatoes in Eataly food and know how tasty they can be. And after that we had to pay £26 of service, which is ridiculous! 😨😨😨 Honestly I got shocked. I know that in London service is pure in general and you are likely to find a place with bad food and service and high prices. However, I expected from this place at least normal service and tolerable food, especially because I was a regular visitor of Eataly Moscow, where the service and everything else were consistently perfect and clear. In such situations, if you had to wait for your food for so long, the waiters would typically offer discounts, vouchers, and apologies to ensure you return. However, here, the waiter didn’t even seem to notice that something went wrong. This lack of acknowledgment and effort to rectify the situation ensures that I won’t be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. Atmosphere was Ok but it is not enough to serve people and call yourself “restaurant”.

Disappointing experience in Terra. Waited half an hour for one bruschetta. Over 1hour for a plate of pasta, which arrived cold and served together with a main dish. When challenged the waitress (blond lady with glasses), and told her: sorry we were supposed to get the pasta first and main after? She replied: you didn't tell us. I said: I expected being an italian place, to be served pasta first. She then replied: this is not Italy, this is England, you have to tell us if you want pasta first. No apologies whatsoever for the 1hour wait on food, racist comment and nonchalant behaviour from all staff. Mentioned during booking it was a special occasion, so very disappointing. Food was good, but we were let down by staff behaviour. On top of that we booked in Terra specifically to try the meat, only to arrive there and being told "the grill is broken"... we understand issues can happen, but a place that mainly serves grilled meat not to have another option to cook their meat it was disappointing.

I expect having high quality Italian proud wines at Eataly specially as an Italian gastronomy institution in the UK. By examining the wine list at their restaurant the price range starts highly at £35. We expected that bottle to be a good quality Italian wine. It wasn’t at all . It was a screw top not corked , didn’t have the DOC label, a must in choosing Italian wine and as I checked online I found out it is a €4,70 price tagged wine at Eataly in Italy, what I consider a cooking wine. Photos attached below. While it is served in the UK for a salty £35 at their restaurant. It’s about the principle of knowing you are being served quality . In this case totally disappointing. After being ripped off on the wine I wonder about the quality standards of everything else served in their restaurant. Very disappointing.

I will never understand the hype for Eataly - it's a let down all round. Visited for the second time recently after a poor first visit in 2023, because it was booked by family for its convenience for Liv St Station. I went in with low expectations based on the first visit, but somehow the place managed to fail even these. Menu is incorrect, offering drinks not available. I wanted a cola so ordered a Mole Cola from the menu. I was told they didn't have this and was directed to some 'homemade' alternative that barely resemble cola at all - for one it was clear. My mushroom pasta dish was inferior to ones I can knock up at home (and I'm no chef) - totally bland, very slimy and stingily portioned. Asked for some hard cheese and salt and pepper which was eventually brought, but the cheese was then whipped away again before I'd had chance to use it. It's very cold inside the 'restaurant' - our waiter was wearing three layers under his apron and he was running around. Imagine how we felt as seated guests. The waiter was quite rude at several points. He clearly did not want the dishes - which are printed in Italian - ordered in Italian as kept pretending he couldn't hear/understand me and then repeating back the dish in English. His attricue was patronising and snobbish. As mentioned before, the place has no vibe at all. It's just some chairs and tables chucked onto a supermarket floor. Won't visit again and will be voicing my opinion on how bad this place is to anyone who considers going.

A Culinary Delight with Room for Improvement at Eataly Liverpool Street ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eataly offers a tantalizing glimpse into the diverse and vibrant world of Italian cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the bustling city, it beckons with promises of authentic flavors and culinary delights. The ambiance is inviting, with a bustling marketplace atmosphere that transports you to the streets of Italy. The array of fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and aromatic spices is a feast for the senses, inviting exploration and discovery. The dining options are plentiful, ranging from traditional trattoria fare to modern interpretations of Italian classics. The pasta dishes shine with their simplicity and depth of flavor, while the pizzas boast crispy crusts and generous toppings. The gelato selection is a sweet finale, offering a refreshing respite from the savory indulgence. However, while the food is undeniably delicious, there is room for improvement in terms of service and ambiance. The bustling nature of the marketplace can sometimes lead to long wait times and difficulty finding seating. Additionally, the staff, while friendly, could be more attentive to customer needs. Overall, Eataly is a culinary destination worth visiting for its authentic Italian fare and vibrant atmosphere. With a few tweaks to service and ambiance, it has the potential to elevate the dining experience to new heights.

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. It took ages for someone to take our order. We then had to flag down a passing member of staff anytime we wanted another drink, the dessert menu, the bill. Although the food was good, I wouldn't go back.

Pizza was very mid nothing special. The carbonara did not taste original at all, too creamy and the bacon was very hard to chew. All food was quite salty. However the tiramisu was incredible, if you like more cream than coffee it is perfect. Drinks were quite nice but quite expensive. Spent 100 on two pizzas one pasta and two drinks.

You can find a lot of specific Italian ingredients as well as a nice restaurant and cafe. They do workshops there but I have not done any of them.

More impressive than the older (great) Eatly in Los Angeles - this is more fun, feels more like a themed tourist attraction than a food store. Excellent lunch at the restaurant - v. high quality pasta , cheese and bread

A place where you can find a large selection of Italian products and sweets. But… the restaurants are definitely not worth it. After we took our table, we waited for the order to be accepted for about 10 minutes...it's too much -⭐️. (The main thing is that they did not forget to include the cost of service in the check without warning) -⭐️ Portions are large (you definitely won't go hungry) + The pizza was delicious. The pasta is served without parmesan. Nearby tables had the same situation with pasta… strange. There were no condiments on the tables. The ice cream bar on the first floor will definitely disappoint with a lot of ice in the ice cream (unfortunately) -⭐️

Place was highly recommended but did not meet expectations. Carbonara was bland and very underwhelming. Both pizzas were dry and lacking taste. Tiramisu full of mascarpone , little coffee and certainly no booze. All in all, great atmosphere but unfortunately food to avoid. Oh yes and shop is awesome. And painfully expensive. Bar of chocolate £6.80!!! If you are loaded , enjoy.

I came here just before Christmas so this review is few months old. I love Eataly, it has so many things to offer and you could spend hours there. My main review is the cafe illy. The hot chocolate and cappuccino could have been a little warmer. The cakes were so overpriced for what you get, however it was nice ambience place and it’s always a nice place to look around and buy some Italian food. So I would not buy the cakes as the expensive one was a little over £6 and it's not worth the little amount you get. The service could be better but I probably still come here again as there are many department foods to look at. What we ordered: Creamy Christmas snowflakes with a biscuit base. Gluten free raspberry muffin. Gianduja choux - AMAZING!! Torta al cioccolato e gianduia Bigne alla crema Pasticcino nocciola Hot Chocolate Cappuccino x2 Green Tea x3

I was looking forward to a meal after work but should have seen the menu beforehand as there is only 1 vegetarian pasta option which is disappointing as the place is filled with pasta! Also the bread was rock hard and hurt my jaw and didn't feel fresh. I was told the parmasan wasn't vegetarian but then another person said it was so I ate it but they were wrong because I heard the waiters discussing it after and no one approached me. I also asked for the bill and the waitress just forgot about me so I went to ask myself. Also the place is confusing and I got lost. They should just stick to one service.

Mediocre food with poor customer service. PIZZETTA ALL’ AGLIO (Flatbread with rosemary & garlic olive oil) we requested the addition of Buffalo Mozzarella that was left off. The flatbread wasn’t great - dry and not evenely cooked. The server forgot to bring over our Arancino which he soon remedied. POLPETTE AL SUGO (Beef meatballs from La Granda) were pleasant. Food was hot and tasted fresh. Reasonable portion. MEZZO PACCHERO ALLA CARBONARA (Dry short pasta with pork cheek and eggs in Pecorino Romano cheese sauce). Small portion and lukewarm. The short pasta was too think/dense therefore wasn’t cooked. Some of the pork cheek was overcooked/bitter, whilst others were not rendered and fatty. Three out of four of us had this as our main and didn’t finish due to the quality. The PATATE FRITTE (Triple cooked chunky chips with aioli mayo) - were excellent . We provided feedback to our server who said he would pass on to a manager. We heard no more until we had to request the bill. The manager was not interested in our feedback and presented as if he didn’t care. We felt totally undervalued despite our bill coming to over £200!!

Nice food, delicious truffle pasta and friendly hostesses. Unfortunately, our waiter hardly spoke two words to us, barely greeted us and didn’t say thanks or goodbye when we paid, but added on a service charge, for what in reality was below par waitering. A shame as everything else was nice, but common courtesy should be the bare minimum.

Bitter coffee like it’s a poor grind but efficient staff catering to commuters and tourists alike. Sore selection of dairy but decent for alternatives. Overpriced but the location determines it must be. Enormous patisserie and small plate selections and the store is a nice old world / European style department store. Wander around and get a feel for it.

Eataly Terra restaurant has incredible food! So delicious! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the service. On Friday I had lunch around 14 at "terra" and our waitress, a girl with pinky hair picked in a braid, had a horrible attitude with me for no reason! I work in hospitality and this kind of behaviour is a shame for this industry, where customer service is everything.

First time here, not great. Bruschetta bread was grilled and although the toppings delicious the bread just tasted like gasoline due to how it was grilled - it was very unpleasant and disappointing. Deep fried stuffed Zucchini flower was good, perfectly matched with a light tomato sauce. Squid was nice, good light batter and perfect salty flavour, paired well with an aioli. Tiramisu was most disappointing, it was 90% cream, and 10% actual tiramisu. Such a shame as the atmosphere is good and when the food was nice it was very nice. Majorly let down.

The products in the grocieries side are mostly very expensive and not good quality at all. I tried the fresh mozzarella and was not tasting good at all ( i am italian and i know what the real mozzarella is like). Other products like pasta and cookies were ok but very expensive even compared to other london grocieries stores (i am talking about exactly same brands). The food in the restaurant was ok but not italian at all ( the burrata on the pizza was orrible and the pasta bolognese not tasting like the real one at all). this place is just a trap for non italian people which don't know what italian food is really like. I will never come back.

Upsizing tables at a peak trading time on a Saturday afternoon requires some nimble saucer-juggling skills. Cups of water down, croissants centred, old supped mugs removed, we seemed to have accomplished the task with finesse. Or so we thought... Coffee Pal 1, who moved a bulky sax case to boot, then spilt her hot drink on the table. No matter. The attentive staff materialised an industrial roll of blue tissue shortly before a new coffee replete with foam detailing materialised on our table. Alas, it was only a harbinger. I then spilt coffee over the same table after being joined by Coffee Pal 2. This time it was a veritable slick, a tempest of morning refreshment faux pax. You could have sailed gondolas on it, and grabbed some of the Toscano chocolate on display at the same time. A mass circulation tabloid was little more than a leaky dam as we waited for my now blue-roll response team. It wasn't the only thing in mass circulation. Unflappable Coffee Pal 2 helped me try to style it out before Coffee Pal 3 rolled up and bought me a replacement for the 1/4 I had left. Anyway, the Gran Caffe does a great croissant and illy coffee, both of which can be surmised as smooth, fresh and readily served. The counter is rarely short of a snaking queue but the staff are always on point. Half an apricot croissant from a tray being whisked around the tables by a polite server provided another sweetener. Spillage or not, Eataly remains my go-to house of temptatious morning pastries and tabletop caffeine floods.

My visit to Eataly was enjoyable overall. The coffee was delicious, but unfortunately, there were flies hovering around the desserts. When I mentioned this to the bartender, he apologized after checking them out. However, by the time I left, the flies were still there on the dessert display, and the desserts had not been removed from the showcase. I would suggest paying closer attention to the appearance of the dessert display as it was not very appealing.

We went for lunch and had a really tasty pizza and salad . However the service was terrible . It was about 3pm and the restaurant wasn’t at all busy . The girl at the check in says we’d need to wait while the table was cleared - that took 10 minutes and a reminder ! Then she said in a very unfriendly way that we had our table for 1.5 hours only . Which really wasn’t necessary given the time of day and emptiness of the restaurant! Then our server - girl with mid length dark hair and glasses was the most surly rude server we have encountered in a long time . My partner called her out on it and she sort of apologised but continued to be very grumpy ! Nobody came to ask how our food was . No interaction at all . So it’s a shame because the pizza was great but doubt we would go back . Please train your staff to be better !

We are regular visitors to Eataly as a coffee or lunch stop after getting off at Liverpool Street station My wife & I called in to Eataly on Tuesday 13 Feb and ordered 2 Chicken Paninis to eat in. The server (whose name I found from a till receipt) took my order, registered it on the till and asked me to tap my credit card whilst she placed the paninis on the hot plate. I waited for her to return to the till because I wanted a receipt. She said the transaction hadn't gone through and I had to tap again and this time she gave me a receipt. A copy of the receipt for the second transaction was forwarded to Eataly. When I returned home from London after an overnight stay I discover that the first transaction had in fact gone through despite me being told it had not. No one else was served on this till between these two taps of my credit card and given that it is electronic data my version of events could easily be validated. I contacted Eataly's Marketing contact and she immediately responded advising that her accounts department would be in contact. Having not heard anything I contacted her again and she told me that they would be in contact within the next few days. 10 days have passed since I contacted Eataly and it clearly demonstrates they don't care about their customers. Secondary to this the warmed Panini wasn't very nice. The breaded chicken wasn't heated all the way through and had a cold middle and the bottom part of the panini was hardened by the hot plate.
