Morelli's in Coleraine

Great cafe in Portstewart - happy staff & good food. Can get very busy though. Last time I went, I ordered a fry with no egg and it came within 5 minutes! Great service.

First rate ice cream and excellent service. I go around once a year when at the North Coast and no matter how busy it looks, I've never had an issue getting a table. The hot fudge sundae is my new go to after 40 years of knickerbocker glories. Both are delish 😋

We had ice creams, they have a wide range of flavours and the portions are generous.

Food, atmosphere and staff all excellent. The ice cream is widely regarded, you have to pay them a visit.

Wonderful choice of ice-cream flavours available, all delicious. The toasted specials and desserts were nicely presented and filling. Service isn’t the fastest both the wait was worthwhile, except for the vegetable soup. That was it water with lumps of veg thrown in. The place was bright, welcoming and the staff were cheerful.

Ten pounds for an ice-cream which really didn't have anything majorly special about it. Nice place to sit and chat but far too expensive.

The litter blithely discarded by the other patrons put a bit of a blight on our experience. How can people be so oblivious and thoughtless in such a beautiful setting. Signed, Disgusted of Dervock.

Best ice cream in the world love it

Some of the nicest ice cream, with helpful friendly staff.

Normally, I would rate it 3 or 4 stars. However, today, whenever I got cheesecake, the cream on top was definitely off. To be honest, I'm very disappointed because I normally look forward to a treat here. The second photo shows where I scraped off the out of date cream.

We were in Morelli's on Dec 26. Can't speak highly enough of our experience. Food was quick, good standard. It was busy and tables were cleaned immediately. It was impressive! Big shout out to everyone who worked that day!

12 quid for a fish supper, batter was ok fish was dry, was gona have chicken burger but for £14 I don't think so, prices are shocking, I've had better from Gareth's chippy, staff were nice and the place is also nice, real shame, I know it's in a nice location but come on!

Great cones for take away. Generous portions. Some really nosey old goats in licking ice cream and giving us the once over whist ordering....grrrrrr...lick off!

Dirty cups and cutlery cold coffee and bad service. After explaining to staff a dirty cup and fork Turned there back and give a other cup and walked away. Never be Back.

Called in for coffee and scone. Handed three staff four dirty knives with jam on them from the cutlery drawer. Also witnessed another customer returning a dirty cup. At no time did staff apologise. Morelli's definitely isn't what it used to be. Won't be back. More to do with how the staff behaved.

We all know Morelli's is the go to place in Portstewart for ice cream. But it wasn't icecream I was looking for last Sunday nite, we had been out with the dogs and got caught in one of our lovely Northern Irish monsoons, so we were all soaked to the skin and badly needing a caffeine hit. I couldn't believe as we approached Morelli's that they were still open and more amazingly there was a parking space right out the front, the coffee God was definitely smiling on us. We didn't realise at the time that the staff were starting to close the place up for the night. We had coffees, hot food and sticky buns, the staff couldn't do enough for us, now this could have been because they wanted to go home, but i don't think so. I have to give the staff a 10 out of 10 for effort and their friendly attitude esp after being on their feet all day.. Thanks folks, I really appreciated it..

An institution! The Knickerbocker Glory takes me straight back to my childhood.

In Questo take away si mangia bene abbiamo ordinato fish e chips e abbiamo preso delle pizze. Una Margherita e una 5 stelle. Le pizze erano buonissime e il pizzaiolo è Napoletano e con questo ho detto tutto. Il servizio è stato veloce. Insomma tutto perfetto meritano più di 5 stelle.

A truly horrendous experience. My order was lost when I asked why it was taking so long. I was then short changed in the refund. The staff were clueless. I will never be back.

I have been coming to Portstewart for holidays on and off for the past 13 years and Morellis is THEE best ice cream! They do unreal sundaes and the best Ulster fry!

Met my friend for lunch today, Tuesday. We both had the vegetable soup with a sandwich and were both bitterly disappointed. The soup was mainly water, large pieces of carrot, leek and onions. It was tasteless and we had to hold the bowl at an angle to drink the water. The sandwich was simply one slice of pan bread with a meagre filling. This cost £14, too expensive for the poor quality. Will not be recommending this establishment to anyone..

Have eaten previously which was great but called today for a coconut and Belgian chocolate ice cream on a waffle cone and first class as usual.

Milkshake was not on the same level as McDonald's

I'm glad I can finally give a 5* review. In the past their pie heater didn't warm the pie the whole way through. I don't know if they got a new one or if they finally figured out how to work it but now if you want a tasty hot slice of rhubarb pie 🥧 with a scoop of the best ice cream on the north coast, this is the place to come to. Albeit you can get breakfast here as well but I haven't had the chance to try it because the shop doesn't open until after 10am. A universal problem with Northern Ireland cafe's which serve cooked breakfasts is that they are never open if you actually want a breakfast at breakfast time (7-9am) unlike almost anywhere else in the world.

First class service from entering the door to table service. Soup was absolutely delish with a side of fresh wheaten . Will definitely be back 😁

This place is normally hiving with activity & qued out the door but this year it was eerily quiet. Inexperienced young staff with no management presence. A young "supervisor" who was evidently out of her depth. I felt sorry for the younger staff under her supervision, they were operating in fear, didn't know what to do next without checking with her first. & more evidence of that came when I had to return to the counter & explain to a server that the fresh cream on top of the banoffee that I'd ordered was sour. The poor girl didn't know what to do. She spoke to her colleague who then sent her to the scary supervisor. Said supervisor disappeared into the kitchen for some time. The initial server awkwardly apologised & said she didn't know what to do, as did her colleague- friend. The "supervisor" eventually returned from the kitchen to rudely explain that the banoffee had been made fresh that day, (which I didn't doubt), but her resolution was to scrape the sour cream off & put on fresh cream. This she did but as you can imagine, there were still remnants of the sour cream left behind. The banoffee which I was able to eat was just ok, the caramel topping & banana were nice, the ginger biscuit base was simply just crumbs, they mustn't have used butter to make it or set it. The children's ice-creams were poor portions.... The tubs were half empty. The same "medium" tub in Portrush was certainly not full to the brim, but neither was it half empty. Thankfully the tea & soft drinks were enjoyable. The tables on the upper level were kept clean by a very efficient male waiter, however, he appeared unable or not allowed to interact with customers. Another family came in & wanted to order hot food but were informed there wasn't any. It was 5pm on a weekday with an empty restaurant, strange! Floors in the seating areas & through to the toilets were dirty, & there wasn't any toilet roll in the bathrooms! Definitely not tempted to return.

Friendly staff and fantastic ice creams! The only thing that has changed over the years is the price! It still has super friendly/helpful/knowledgeable and artistic staff not to mention the world class ice cream!

People in there don’t even know how to speak English and they bring me pasta with nothing except of bolognaise pasta

Called in for tea and cake on a miserable summer afternoon. It was busy but still had plenty of seats available with clean tables. We had 2 teas accompanied with a rhubarb tart with vanilla icecream and a carrot cake and vanilla ice cream. All was great. Always nice to call here while on the North Coast. It maybe expensive but it's well worth it.

It's Morelli's, it's an institution. Since it's recent re-furb, it feels a little cramped to sit in (so only 4*)....but the ice cream delights are Morelli's and there is simply no comparison.

Decent ice cream BUT you can walk up the road and get cheaper and better ice cream at roughans. Check out my review of that to see what it’s like

Lovely ice cream but the cone was soggy. Disappointed that such a tradition as Morelli's has dropped their standards. Maybe got them on a bad day.

Morellis is Very clean, good service, great views and terrific ice cream . I always love to visit this cafe

My girlfriend and I came here for some ice cream it was so tasty and my girlfriend is gluten and dairy allergic they still had ice cream for her so many flavors to choose from they have something for everyone

Buenos helados y buen servicio muy amables

Surely one the best ice-creams I’ve ever had. And that is a strong statement as I’ve had a lot! Beautiful flavors and my favorite one is without a doubt Mr Morelli. Like the caramelized hazelnut one as well. Being in an Italian “gelato” place I was expecting the pistachio flavor too which they didn’t serve unfortunately. Very friendly staff, plenty of places to park, beautiful views of the promenade from the windows, coffee and tea also served on the other corner. History of the brand pictured beautifully on the walls. What more can I say!? Ah, price was cheap compared to other eateries in the area (~ £3.5 for 2 scoops and ~4.5 for 3)

My son left his Teddy behind and the kind managers at Morelli's posted him back to us safe and sound! We ate at Morelli's a few times while we where there and the food is great! Place is clean and staff are always friendly! Thanks again guys 😊

Don't eat here if you have allergies!!!! Everything is cross contaminated. In fact I don't recommend at all. Girlfriends pizza had hair in it, my brother in laws burger was still raw. My milkshake (the only thing I could actually have due to the contamination issues.) had tissue paper in it.

Best food and service on the Prom . Ice cream to die for 😍 sausage rolls homemade, chunky rolls full of flavour.

Had a few frys which were nice, so called in there on Sunday with my partner, ordered my top fry with a milkshake, an my partner had toast, bacon an egg, with coffee, the fry I must say wasn't as good as before, an the milkshake was just like a cup of milk, an my partners bacon was well over done an hard,

Everytime we go to Portstewart we have our lunch here. Our son studies at Coleraine University and we go here to eat. Their menu is fantastic and there is something for everyone. Staff are very friendly and it is always busy. Even when I asked the waitress if they do free refills of tea, I was brought down another teapot. No problem recommending Morello's.

Lovely food - especially the Mexican panini. Kids well looked after and lots of amazing dessert options. Friendly staff too!

Nice ice cream by the seaside. The staff was very busy and tend to entertain customers in the least time possible. Overall, a good experience and a tasty ice cream.

Really enjoyed meal and atmosphere. The negative point would be when receiving a jug of water for my table, having had a few glasses my wife mentioned multiple small flys in the water. It might have been a one off but i would be slightly dubious of asking water again.

This is the place to go if you want beautiful sundaes. We didn't try the hot food but it read well on the menu. The staff were absolutely brilliant, very friendly and very efficient. An all round great experience

My little Grand Daughter and I called into the Ice Cream Parlour this morning. She had tripped on the promenade, she is only 20 months old. I carried her over the road to Morelli’s to cheer her up with a Baby Ice Cream. I am a Disabled Retired person and having carried her from across the street over the crossing and into the Ice Cream Parlour I sat her on the counter. It’s at a low level, no one was at the Counter and no customers in the Parlour. I sat her there only to get my purse out to pay for my purchase. Moments later a woman appeared from behind the counter area. Created by her, “ get her off the Counter!” The Customer Service certainly was wasted on her. I lifted my 20 month Grandchild and informed her that Morelli’s was build by a Family for Families. I will not darken the doors again. The child wasn’t dirty, no sand, i couldn’t leave her on a chair she may have bolted into the street and I couldn’t get my wallet purse from my back pocket without setting her down. I do hope Morelli’s address their issues with Staff snapping at Customers in such a manner.

Took my half full drink away and when I told them I hadnt finished they just said sorry I thought you were finished, not "have your money back" or "give you another one". Strange. very average food, great ice cream, terrible service

I ordered a latte and an ice cream sundae, the banana split. The coffee was dissapointing and had separated into layers. The ice cream had freezer burn on it, while this would normally not bother me, when you pay 10 pound for a sundae I would like to think that the icecream would not be freezer burnt. The lady serving us was also more interested in going for a smoke than serving us. Not in a hurry to go back which is dissapointing as its been a location we would normally visit when in the area.

Called in for lunch yesterday bad idea, soup and sandwich combo, soup cold bread used for the half sandwich rock hard.... Chicken burger and garlic cubes.....disgusting worst chicken burger I've ever had , garlic cubes uncooked with bitter raw garlic spread over them, absolutely disgraceful avoid this place , will never be back and the staff don't care they were more interested in standing around talking to each other.Try Gam Jar couple of doors down, how it should be done.

Good place for a dessert, had a lovely warm waffle with chocolate sauce with 2scoops of the famous ice cream. Bit cold in the restaurant was the only complaint

Stopped in for a coffee ended up taking cheesecake for ma and wife had Banoffee, highly reccomend trying it if your in Portstewart, service great, staff friendly, great menu choice.

Traveled from Belfast and stopped in for lunch. Lunch was not expensively but everything seemed somewhat old / stale. The tables were sticky and the staff were somewhat unwelcoming. There was more of an ordeal at two young girls parading around taking photos of ice...
