Moon under Water in Wigan

This must be one of the worst managed pub in the Wetherspoons chain. Service is terrible. Bar staff seem clueless. Some work really hard, to no effect. Some don't care. The customer is definitely not a priority in this pub. (By contrast the Wetherspoons in Chorley is so much better on every measure.) I ordered on the app, one pint of Old Peculiar. It took 23 minutes to have it poured but still hadn't got to my table. So desperate I collected it from the bar. In fairness to the staff member pouring the i orders, she was busy all of the time but had a handful pieces of paper which I imagine were orders. Management should have seen this and allocated more staff, such as the one behind the bar looking at her phone. We went to other pubs in Wigan and the service was soooo much better.

Visited last nite 7/10/23 was going to have food but after waiting over 5 minutes for disabled toilet key on going in I was disgusted with the state of the place. The toilet was filthy and smelled so bad the seat was also filthy I went back and asked the bar manager could he get somebody to clean it when I seen a young lad going in to clean it about 10 mins later I followed him, i said have you done it he had only put the toilet seat down and said why what’s up with it so I said look at it he said I will have to go upstairs for something. ?!! Also the bar manager was rude to my husband he wanted to serve a local who was standing behind my husband so we just drank our drinks and left If they cannot keep there toilets clean where the public can walk in what is the rest of the place like So if you don’t won’t to be ignored spoken to rudely and use dirty toilets I’d advise not to go to this place

Slow service, 35 min wait for a luke warm breakfast, tables left uncleared and dirt. Staff not interested

In here now they gave my breakfast to the wrong table. Been waiting 40 minutes for my breakfast to,arrive .

Been to this pub on many occasions but really disappointed today. I went with two friends and apart from drinks we ordered two steaks and a mixed grill. The steak was awful. Most of the meat was left. The waitress asked about the meal and we explained what had happened. All she had to say was ' sorry about that'. No follow up from management at all. If that is the best that the staff here can do then it is best avoided.

24th May @ 21:15 Table 13 Ordered 2 steak and chips , presentation wise, ok. Food was Luke warm, chips had been cooked to death , would have been an ok meal had it been served at the correct temperature, shame on you weatherspoons! We won’t be back to the Wigan one!

On Wednesday 3rd of May 2023, I visited this Wetherspoons for evening because it's usually nice, cheap, decent and pleasant for food and drinks. It's always been amazing and enjoyable visiting this Wetherspoons, however on this occasion very disappointing and frustrating experience. I thought personally the service I received on the 3rd of May was absolutely pathetic and disgraceful! Firstly, I walked into this Wetherspoons to find myself a table and the tables were sticky, dirty, scruffy and very unhygienic. Tables should be sanitised due to covid 19, flu viruses and other viruses around. It's professional sanitising the tables because of personal hygiene standards and it avoids public catching germs. Myself has a solo customer was sitting on table at 38 table on that evening minding my own business buying myself food and drinks which I am entitled to do because it isn't a problem and it's not against the law to do that. I haven't committed no crimes and I was minding my own business keeping myself to myself, I didn't harm to any customers in Wetherspoons that evening. While I was sitting on table 38 that evening, I ordered myself beers, cocktails and food were absolutely fine and they were no issues at first. Once I ordered my food and drinks on app, they came around 10 minutes and that wasn't a problem. The food, drinks and cocktails were absolutely tasty and enjoyable that evening and the prices are reasonable to be fair. I ordered on wetherspoons app to order another cocktail jug to myself, it worked properly and the money came out of my bank. All of a sudden I had this rude and unhelpful member staff called Phillip refused to give me the cocktail jug and I was thinking to myself I haven't done nothing wrong. I asked why are you not giving me my cocktail jug I paid for that I replied. The rude member staff called Phillip said "you had five/six jugs." I was gobsmacked because I had two jugs of cocktails to myself and I had no nowhere near six jugs of cocktails. He is basically a liar in other words. I was absolutely upset, frustrated and angry because Phillip the rude staff member embarrassed me right of front other customer and the other customer witnessed I didn't do nothing wrong. I've got autism and anxiety I completely didn't appreciate Phillip's attitude the way he spoken to me that evening. I felt like I treated unfairly and they were gang of five old men shouting and swearing during the evening and I was completely innocent the whole time. Absolutely unfair! Anyway, Phillip given me a receipt of £10.80 will be refunded into my account and he had right attitude while he given me the receipt. He basically threw the receipt at me and I thought his behaviour was childish and embarrassing. The gentlemen sitting on the table next to me said I didn't do nothing wrong and said the staff member was bang out of order. Anyway, once Phillip given me the receipt for refund £10.80 and I went the bar yo require information about my refund because I wanted to know when I'll receive my refund. Another staff called Lindsay at the bar "said how can I help you?" I explained my situation what happened and I complained about the attitude of rude member staff that evening. I explained Phillip has given me a receipt for cocktail refused to me for absolutely no reason and Lindsay writen some information down on piece of paper. She explained the refund could take up to 3-5 working days and I replied I completely understand because I know weekends are not classed as working days and same with bank holidays. I said to the staff in wetherspoons, if I don't receive my refund of £10.80 and I'll be going the papers because it's my human rights and the staff tried arguing with me saying "please don't." I've got my rights and I am entitled to do what I like everyone else can. Everyone is entitled to their human rights if they treated unfairly. When I explained my situation to Lindsay what happened with rude member of staff, Phillip behind the bar kept giving me evil looks and I was absolutely upset. I explained that I had autism and anxiety to the staff aware and he clearly wasn't bothered. I mentioned to the staff I'll be putting a bad review on TripAdvisor and he laughed pathetic man. Absolutely ridiculous and immature behaviour! He is weird honestly and I clearly don't understand what his issue is seriously. Say Phillip or any members of staff was having a bad day or not, still no excuse treating customers like rubbish. Absolutely unnecessary and no need for it! 😡 Lindsay on the other hand was absolutely polite, kind and really understanding. She apologised for his behaviour and I appreciated the apology. She explained one of her family members has autism herself. It doesn't cost nothing to be nice and manners don't cost nothing. If you can't handle basic manners or can't be nice, don't work in customer service industry then. It's that simple. 🤷‍♂️ On Wednesday 9th of May, I phoned Wigan Town Centre Wetherspoons to require what was happening with my refund and I explained to the woman on the phone that happened that evening. The woman on the phone asked "have you got receipt?" I replied yes. She asked me for reference number and I given all the information she asked for from the receipt. She was absolutely polite and very apologetic on the phone and she said I should receive my refund by Thursday 10th of May that's the five working days when I was issued the refund of the 3rd of May. She told me to ring the pub on Friday if I don't receive nothing. On Monday 15th of May 2023, I had to phone Wigan Town Centre Wetherspoons again to find out what is happening about my refund and I spoken to a gentleman called Ben was helpful and he did everything he could. He advised to ring wetherspoons head office because they deal with complaints and refunds better than actual pub. Overall, I won't be returning to this Wetherspoons again because I was upset, devastated and frustrated the way I got treated that evening. Phillip treated me like a criminal and it was absolutely disgusting! He should be ashamed with his behaviour. 😡

Cold food no apology and filthy place. Staff have no manners whatsoever. Never heard of customer is always right, Not happy at all. Glad I brought my boys up with manners which are saddly lacking at this bar

I Met a friend here a few weeks ago and we decided to have something to eat we both ordered steak and chips and service and meals was good the staff was clearing tables better than other Wetherspoons I have been in So I would say very happy with that visit Then I went on my own last week and again ordered the steak and chips service was good but my steak was not very good It seemed to have a bit of gristle through it so I only ate just over half the steak After I finished I called a young girl over who was working there and told her I was not happy as it was the worst piece of steak that I had had She said she would tell the manager But nobody came to ask me anything so I don't think they cared apart from the bad piece of steak everything was ok but very poor customer service John

Visited moon under water today 6 in a family went to order asked for ham and mushroom pizza couldn't have one no ham so asked for a burger didn't have that either there was only 2 varieties of pizza was so disappointed never know wetherspoons to run out of food ended up having barbecue chicken pizza which didn't want wasn't hot when it came always rated wetherspoons but not on this visit

As September broke I spent a rather pleasant lazy ol' Monday evening with 5 friends at Wigan's very own 'Spoons'- the nickname a local in our group lovingly refers to the pub as. What an absolute delight it was to buy a round of drinks here. Mine consisted of double spirits measures, generously mixed, pints and g&t - all for under £14! All served by employees with a smile either deftly at the bar or brought to our table via the app with barely any wait time at all. After a few rounds hot pub food of varying styles was called for. We shared a selection to nibble on, much needed which hit the spot just as our pangs of hunger struck. Whenever we engaged with staff we found them warm and engaging finding time to pass the time. A credit to the venue, they even found time to wave us off as we departed. Toilets were clean and spritely. So over all? A beltin' way to relax in chilled surroundings. Will all be returning to the Moon real soon - for another reet Spoonful!

Like with most weatherspoon bars they over work their staff and don't train them properly. They always serve a really bad pint of beer. It is usually dead within seconds. Toilets are always upstairs! Food is decent for the price.

Had a large breakfast here this AM, very poor showing, two very small pieces of coldbacon, two sausages spoonful of beans, two eggs one mushroom and two slices of cold toast. THE worst cup of tea even tasted! I won't be returning

Looked forward to a good night with my mates after a long wait. Disappointed with the service all round. Drinks took more than 20 mins after ordering. Staff weren’t empathetic and were disrespectful, acted like they didn’t want us there and we were more hassle than worth. Told us sarcastically when we asked about the wait time for drinks ‘are you not capable of waiting for alcohol?’ Wow, why bother.

Visited today told had to order food prior to being able to order any drinks asked for 3 different items from menu none available so ordered scampi meal + drinks waited 30 mins food arrived no drinks no vinegar available for chips 15 mins later drinks arrived not what we ordered then was told by staff that we couldn't have a refund at all disgusting staff attitude ordered different drinks waited another 10 mins but was right drinks but not a good experience at all you would think they would be grateful for customers in this bad times but I wont be visiting again poor poor poor

Went for breakfast this morning. Was told to sit down with a service card stood up and some one would come over and serve us. We sat down and waited and waited eventually I had to get up put my mask on and go to counter to ask if we could order. No smiles just someone will will come over. Eventually a man arrived and took our order then went back for our cups....mine was full of lipstick when it arrived so I asked him to change it...no smiles or sorry from him. The pub was not busy so it wasn't that they were rushed off their feet. After order taken food was at our table within 5 mins so not freshly prepared. Mind you I should have known that was the case the beans had a skin on! Think I wont bother in future.

Boy, the staff work hard! The table service worked well and it was great ordering from the app. But this means the staff are running around and working really hard! The COVID management seemed to work well and we only had a short wait in the queue.The meal was good and as I was driving, the free refills on the coffee were very welcome.Weatherspoon’s never lets you down, you always know what you’re gonna get. Evening Meal for three and three rounds of drinks for a tenner less than a lunch for two in Miller and Carter with one drink each. Number of kids in M&C meant ambience was similar!

I'm a regular visitor of multiple wetherspoons pubs for a cheap bite to eat and this was my first visit to the moon under water. Of the ones I've been to so far since lockdown was eased, they've all employed the same system of having a staff member on the door to ensure that numbers were limited and asked you to use the sanitiser. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case here on a Saturday morning. Sanitiser by the door was empty, no staff member there and a stack of menus just left for you to help yourself. Customers were also going out the front door to smoke and completely ignoring the one-way system that was in place. Their decision not to limit the numbers in the pub meant that there was a near constant flow of people walking through the pub trying to find a table, not good when everyone is meant to be social distancing.The breakfast itself was average, toast was cold, bacon overdone, tiny spoonful of beans and tomato barely grilled.If you fancy a dose of covid, come here.

We was told by the bouncer that we could sit together on two tables together. After ordering we was rudely disturbed by staff after 30 minutes Demanding that we move to two separate tables. We would not have ordered if we knew that we had to move. The staff demanded that we moved and did I not give use an option on we’re we sit. They bossed us around and had a power trip. The staff call a member of our group Voldemort and we was not impressed.

We came again here for our meal and as usual in Wetherspoons we had a really good meal. The tables were in accordance with social distancing and there were barriers between so it was very good. When we are in Wigan we always eat in here and will continue to do so.

I don't mind Wetherspoons, but one thing I really don't like is the severe compromise. Yes, the beer's cheap, but all to often indifferently kept. Yes, the food isn't expensive, but is usually cooked and presented with absolute indifference - take it or leave it.Tables are frequently untended, mostly due to the lack of staff, also reflected in the spent waiting at the bar to be served. I suppose that keeps prices down. It's basically a warehouse for chronic alcoholics and the dregs of society. You walk into such an establishment knowing this.On the bright side, at least it corales all the idiots in one pub, so you know to avoid the place.Wigan's example of the breed is absolutely no exception.

Standard Weatherspoons, clean frriendly staff, cheap beer and food, nice atmosphere would visit again

Amazing service from Hayley who looked after us, served us our drinks with a smile and even brought us an umbrella because we were suited and booted and then heaven opened.

Visited while in wigan for a family outing. Great place and so cheap family of 4 ate and drank for just over £25. Will definitely be visiting when over in Wigan again

If I ever fancy steak me n my friends go here iv ate steak many times at different places but moon under water is the best and staff r friendly aswel

nipped in on December 23rd for breakfast before catching our train. Our order was taken by a young girl, Abbie, who welcomed us warmly, explained where everything was and took our transaction plus our extras in a super manner, 8 minutes later she turned up with warmth again giving our meals and bringing condiments before being asked. Abbie then came to check if our food was to our liking and all 3 of us were pleased. This was a good visit indeed.

We always come in here for food when we are in Wigan as it's always good. We had a good evening meal and came again next day for breakfast.

Had the vegan burger for lunch and it was very tasty, I’m really fussy with burgers but no complaints at all. Had the vegan pizza for tea and it was cold and very little topping on it. Sent the pizza back and they gave me a replacement that was nice and hot but still poor amount of topping on it. My friend also ordered a pizza and the amount of topping on hers was dismal. Staff very obliging and doing their best, very busy place and not enough staff behind the bar.

1st time back here for a few years, and was very good. We all had the sunday brunch and was excellent came in quick time with the place being packed out after the remembrance Sunday parade! Very helpful staff, and we will be back here!

Ordered by using the app... Received drink and lamb. Lamb was very dry. Asked for more gravy. It was different. I acknowledge the waitress and she said that they have got it only as the lamb is out of a packed ....ahahaha

There's nothing to make this place stand out from other Wetherspoons to be honest. Nice building, plenty people in boozing and eating.

Just like the other Wetherspoons I've visited - large building, long bar, lots of tables & chairs. Excellent range of beers (Wainwrights very good) and unlimited coffee refills for the non drinker. Had the three for £10.25 menu - Roasted Veg pizza, loaded chips & battered prawns with a spicy sauce. All excellent. Friendly, chatty staff & quick service.

Another delicious breakfast, love ordering the veggie brekky the sausages are fantastic!! My son always enjoys his children's breakfast too. 😁😁

Been to one Wetherspoons, been to them all and, on the whole this is true. A visit to the Moon may well remind you of that Wetherspoons you visited in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Watford or just about any major city. Same theme, an old, large building converted into an open plan pub with the standard food menu complete with "Fish on Friday" and "Curry Thursdays". So, you know exactly what to expect but, more positively, you know the standards to expect from a Wetherspoons and the Moon does not disappoint. Very friendly and super efficient staff; pleasant surroundings (and no blaring background music); very good value for money with the usual wide range of real ales; and a nice mix of people, all ages, families, couples and singles. Just to note - the toilets are located up a flight of stairs so might be difficult for anybody with restricted mobility.

Popped in for some beers after work while staying in the nearby premier inn. Good selection of craft beer and all for £1.99 is never wrong! Pity it was a school night as I’d love to try rest of them 🍻

Had the chicken tikka massala which was lovely and filling. The shift manager was very helpful and friendly despite being busy keeping the palace clean and tidy. Recommended

Best spoons in the North West by far. Staff are always friendly and service is great. Obviously its slower during busy periods but thats to be expected. Always pop in for a drink when in Wigan. Lovely decor also showing the history of this great town

Food ok service ok. Disabled toilet inadequate for someone using a wheel chair. Both doors open out so struggle to get into the toilet, unit with info leaflets in the way this didn't help. First visit to the loo two girls held the doors so I could push my husband Into the toilet not very big and a bit smelly. Second visit brother In law came to assist. Not what you expect when going out for lunch. Needs to be bigger and disabled friendly

I know Wetherspoons are cheaper than most but it always says something about a place when it's always busy. The service at the bar can be somewhat hit and miss but today it was hit. Nice beers and cheap (£2.55 for a Shipyard). Food is your atypical Wetherspoons fare...cheap, edible and wholesome.

It's a place you want to come back to, with wide selection of good food and beverages, friendly staff, very convenient location.

Went to this establishment today for lunch with a friend. Ordered on the app and soft drinks came quickly and came with no ice as requested. Ordered panini’s with chips, after 10 or so minutes the waitress came round with the meals, one of which was dropped all over my mates lap. The waitress was very apologetic and replaced the meal which was no problem. Meal was okay and you can’t really complain considering the price.

I have never seen anything like it in my life! I stood at the bar for 25 minutes with many others, it wasn’t even that busy, yet all of the bar staff completely ignored everybody. I understand that you now have an app but that doesn’t give you the licence to completely ignore everyone stood in front of you who doesn’t have it! It was totally embarrassing! All of the customers were looking at one another wondering if we was invisible.

I was there with two friend about half past 8 and one of them didn't have the id. I've ordered a shank steak with a drink included but they didn't have that and the staff from the kitchen forgot to tell the waiters about it so I had to wait about 45 minutes to get something else and one of my friends rated the food cold. Then, at 15 minutes past 9 a waiter came Tous saying that we can't stay because one of us didn't have the I'd so couldn't prove was over 18 years old, so we had to leave and I left half of the food still in the plate.

How are these people getting away with bad service.... we stood at the bar for 10 mins while a big lad with dyed hair continued to serve others that came to the bar. Obviously got his blinkers on. Wetherspoons you really need to train your younger staff what customer service is.

Had the steak and chips, was burned and some spicy coating stuff on it too,was awful, went on the Sunday before bank holiday , won’t be returning!

Popped in here to meet friends on our way to a match. Obviously it was very busy. There was still plenty of space for people to eat. Tried to be clever and order drinks on our way but it did not work! They arrived 30 mins after we did :). We got a drink at the bar quicker. The staff were great. The atmosphere was friendly. The place was clean. The food looked great so might give it a try soon.

We found a table as someone was leaving the staff came straight away and cleaned everything away,it being busy as usual, had something quick (burgers) which filled the hole, staff friendly efficient, will make another appearance.

First visit to Wigan and of course we looked up the nearest Spoons, everything as per any other Weatherspoon’s apart from the wait for a drink with not that many people in there we waited a good 25 mins to get served, food was ok as the night went on the staff became more and more rude with one of the staff shouting that she had been on all day and everybody should go home as she had had enough all in all not bad maybe just a bit of staff training wouldn’t go a miss

Visiting area and needed some lunch. Pub very busy for a Monday but after placing our order food was delivered very quickly. Chips were hot, fresh and tasty. Cheese & Ham Panini was nice but a bit short on contents compared to other branches of this Wetherspoons pub.

It’s always nice to pop into a Weatherspoons when I’m away. This one was the old hippodrome in Wigan.Lots of character and good bar staff,along with good value for money drinks,made into a pleasant evening.

Waited 15 Mins to be Served for Drinks, Staff are Terrible, No Eye Contact, do Not Engage with you, Just Walk Away from the Bar Serving Area at will, and Don`t Return, No Personality, Lethargic, Ignorant, The List just go`s on and on. A Group of Six of us had to Walk out as we could not get Served, Walked Down the Street to the Raven, Walked in, got Served Straight Away, and Sat Down, No Problems whatsoever, Avoid this Place at all Costs..Unless you want to Burn up your Life Looking at Unmotivated Staff whilst waiting for a Simple Drink.

Good beer, always popular but never enough staff

Came here again to eat as we always enjoy it. It was quite busy but because there are different floors and lots of areas we managed to get a table and weren't disappointed. I had a vegan curry which was really good and I would have again even though I do enjoy meat, it was a change and a good one. Staff are friendly which always helps. Will be back I'm sure.

Called in for breakfast on morning of Wigan 10k run so very busy. Had a traditional breakfast which was very good.

Decided to use Wetherspoon's for a breakfast after the top boss backed Brexit.

I love peas, with a passion. It was to my utter delight that I saw that peas were available at this fine establishment. A friend of mine (knowing full well my affection for the green little fellows) ordered me a portion of peas to chow down as a gift for my birthday. I cannot underestimate how much I blummin love peas. The manager refused to bring us the peas AND refused my friend a refund. What a catastropea.

Had the Sunday lunch steak, however ordered medium to well and if came pinkish - so my wife didn't eat hers and obviously didn't send it back either. Steak was also dry and not the best cut either- suppose you get what you pay for.

Weatherspoons have converted this wonderful old building into a warm welcoming pub. Had an evening meal which most of us enjoyed, a couple of people not happy with the small portions they got. You get what you pay for though, and my meal was lovely. Bar staff were friendly and we didn't have long to wait for our meal. The pub is in town centre so a good location. We also had breakfast next morning which we all enjoyed, and for about £5 each you can't really beat it, especially as you can refil your tea or coffee cup as often as you want. Good value.

The management really need to get to grips with the woman who calls everyone 'darlin'. Most unprofessional, highly patronising and extremely irritating. Is this what our service industry has come to?

Seems more of a local drinkers pub than a restaurant, that's not a bad thing if the food is good as well. We ordered chicken tikka curry, gammon and chips and steak and jacket potato. My curry was fine. When we ordered we were informed that they couldn't fry the eggs to go with the gammon only scramble them as the griddle was broken. We ordered a medium/well done steak with jacket potato, when it arrived the steak was rare and served with chips and no peas. We spoke to the waitress and I said I was sure we had the wrong plate of food and it had got muddled with someone else's, to her credit she offered to completely replace the whole meal which we accepted and the next one came back fine but of course by this time the rest of us had finished our meal. It's a fairly dated, run down pub but has character and lots of different areas and nooks and crannies.

Called here recently at lunch time. I didn’t stay long enough to try the food, due to rude, appalling attitude of the staff. I would advise people to go elsewhere.

I called in The Moon Under Water for a bite to eat and a coffee. The large breakfast looked promising and at £4.99 it looked good value. I waited almost half an hour for the breakfast to appear and although it looked nice, the food was cold served on an even colder plate. I suspect it had been waiting somewhere for the staff to bring to me hence it was cold. Will go elsewhere next time

I had a meal and pint while waiting for a train. Service was prompt, the Abbott ale was excellent and the mixed grill satisfying.

Me and some friends ate here on Saturday night, and after eating here, the three of us started to feel extremely ill not long after eating. I began violently throwing up and I am still recovering with an awful stomach pain. We are 100% certain that it was due to the food we were served here as we have ruled everything else out.

I think it's absolutely pathetic that you serve all drinks from plastic pots on match days.

This is a very busy pub but the food is really good as you would expect in a Wetherspoon pub. There are quite a lot of little rooms to go in so you can usually get a place.

The worst food i have ever tasted in my life. Food was inedible. My friend who never complains said she will never eat here again. The place was filthy do they not have a cleaner here. I wasted my time and money here and will never visit again. Vile food filthy pub and staff rude. Pull ur finger out and get this place cleaned and here's a thought maybe even get a chief in who knows how to cook food properly. My mate had a burger the bun was rock hard and the burger totally inedible. I had chicken strips they where so hard that you could have hammered a nail in with them. Never ever again.

Partner approached bar just before 12pm to order 2 breakfasts, there was someone else to be served before him so he made the member of staff behind the bar aware that the person was next to be served. When it finally became my partner's turn to be served, he was told breakfast was finished as it was now 2 minutes or so after 12pm. No leniency towards the fact he let someone go before him. Ordered the brunch instead. Only tables available were still to be wiped and cleared away but the staff were more interested in filling up the coffee machine in case it ran dry. Walked away from it without wiping the milk that was spilt. Didn't realise on heading back to table from ordering that we were to collect out coffee mugs from staff so on going back to bar to see what was happening with drinks I was told that the mug in front of me was mine that I forgot to take away with me. Noted two couples walking in and not stopping perhaps due to the tables not being cleared away. Staff need to up their game and perhaps a smile wouldn't go amiss either. The food was just OK but eggs were hard and cold.

This weather spoons was ok and for breakfast it provides a warm option form breakfast before 9am when the rest of wing was closed . Its small and was a bit dark inside . All was ok and no issues fairly standard Weatherspoon offer .

We had lunch one day and breakfast another. Service was fantastic and the food, drinks and pricing were very reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone in City Center area.

Went for a one off visit whilst house sitting for the week.The place was lovely and clean,staff were very polite and helpful and the food was lovely,my partner and i both had the southern fried chicken wrap with baconaise sauce it was lovely it came with chips nice size portion not greasy and had a lovely flavour.Needless to say we went back again for seconds during the week we were there mmmmm lovely .

Don't recommend this weatherspoon food was so cold as soon as we got it knife and fork where dirty tables wasn't being wipe and as for the glasses they where grime on it staff wasn't very friendly tell you what miss out this place completely I'm ashamed of here and I haven't taken no pictures cos it's a load of poo

We were in Wigan not familiar with the town we came across the pub fantastic atmosphere cheap beer and the foods not bad I would recommend the steak pudding and chips my partner had the scampi and chips

Good friendly pub great service nice pint in there new stem glasses but like a lot of weatherspoons pubs I visit and I do visit a lot of them over the country a lot of them could do with a refurbish but this 1 in Wigan market place the men’s toilets are disgusting come on Tim you are worth millions

Usually you get the same standard of food and service at Wetherspoons, but I was rather disappointed with this one. The service was rather off-hand, there was no attempt to clean the grubby table top.
