Beautiful food will be back for more!

One of my favourite restaurants in Southend! The staff are amazing, I love the owner Sabrina, she is so welcoming and is the hostess with the mostest. She makes you feel comfortable and every time we go there the evening feels truly special. Would highly recommend to any one of all ages.

I wish I could eat here more often. Its always a pleasure.

We love going to Montis. You are always so welcomed there. The steak was incredible.

We came here using a Groupon voucher purchased. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and attentive, professional and polite. The food was absolutely delicious, arrived quickly. A couple of issues that this restaurant needs to improve on. Firstly, we asked for still water on our table to accompany our alcoholic drinks. This was given to us as chargeable bottled water, which we found a tad cheeky but we could get past this, nothing major. However, we asked for some mayo to come with our food and we were charged £3- yes £3 for 3 tiny little pots of mayo which is absolutely ridiculous. Had this been communicated to us, I'm not sure we'd have had this, but it wasn't. In my 30 something years of being on this planet, i have never ever been charged for a small pot of mayo at any restaurant I've eaten at. When i challenged this at the end with the boss/manager/owner, she shrugged her shoulders and gave me £3 back out the till and wasnt particularly nice about it. It left a bad taste in our mouths (so to speak) upon leaving. Id recommend this place based on the food and service which was great(just check carefully all the hidden and cheeky extras costs they sneakily add on, for things like water and sauces etc).

Stopped in tonight for a dinner. We’re seen and sat down right away. Owner/manager was really friendly and welcoming. We had muscles to start - delicious. Two pizzas/“Pinsas” as they call them - both really good too. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Today we celebrate my mom’s birthday, and it was truly the best decision and a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, was feeling like home, perfect for a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. Exceptional service. The food was simply outstanding. We tried several starters, pasta, and fish. The very impressive and unique try for me was the “Parmigiano Negroni”, and the way it was served, outstanding. (Refere to the pictures added). The owners even surprised my mom with a birthday dessert, which made the evening even more memorable. Fantastic, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Beautiful hidden gem. Gorgeous restaurant and the family and their team had amazing service. The food was divine. We were visiting from out of town and so glad we found this place. Thanks also to our waiter Braken for the tips for our visit to Leigh the next day

We went with my girlfriend's family to celebrate her mother's birthday. We entered and the feeling was of home, all the details of the furniture screamed Italy! The kindness and professionalism of the owners was fantastic! the food 10 out of 10 excellent fish dishes! Thank you for making us feel at home😊

We visited Montis again today for the 3rd time as a large family. The food is always amazing and the tiramisu is out of this world (I’ve literally never tasted better tiramisu anywhere else). The best thing about this whole restaurant is the friendly service. The service is absolutely lovely and you really feel like you’ve been invited around to an Italian family’s house for dinner. They’re all so welcoming and friendly. It really is a hidden gem of a restaurant. We will always choose Montis for a special family meal out. Can’t wait to come back and see you all again soon. X

What a Great find this restaurant is. We love Italian food & wanted somewhere to celebrate our wedding anniversary today. Never been before but thought we would give Monti's a go. Wonderful food in lovely surroundings with great service. We will be back.

We had a lovely family lunch here today. The food was delicious and the service excellent. I only didn't give it 5 stars for the atmosphere because it was a fairly quiet lunchtime, so I'm not sure how this would compare to a busy time.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant especially seeing the reviews but I'm sorry to say my family experience not good dinning from this restaurant. Firstly we were placed to the rear of the restaurant were clearly we had a house view of the toilets in view every time people went to the loo from the restaurant their seem to be a terrible smell coming from somewhere.The table we were placed on was like being in someone's bed room no real feelings of being in Italy at all . We ordered our food and it came out sparrow sizes food at west end prices over priced wine and beers it's ( Southchurch) not London I'm not at all impressed with it at all I've been gentle on my review trust me 🙏we did complaint to the manager he was polite to be honest. This is a restaurant we shall not go back to you need a glass of water and a aspirin to get over the prices

Amazing! Visited here for our wedding anniversary dinner, and we couldn’t have picked anywhere better to go. Great authentic Italian food, amazing staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Bear in mind that my Godmother was Italian, the best tiramisu I’ve ever had was here!! We shall be back! X

I often take clients and friends here when I'm in the area, I stumbled across it a couple of years ago after a quick search for an Italian restaurant in the Southend area. Hands down it's one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to, either in the UK or Italy. I consider myself very fortunate to have eaten at some amazing eateries around the world and the menu here is beautifully considered, authentic and even more importantly, tastes amazing. The service is friendly and family orientated, the place itself is discreet and homely whilst still feeling special enough to host whoever you're with. You can't always rely on Google reviews, but if you just try it once you won't regret it. I will keep going back to the Monti, and yes I have tried others in the area!

We visited Monti’s this evening with our little boy. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive, which was a nice start. The food was very authentic and extremely well cooked and to top it off, our bill was well below what we would have been willing to pay. We will be back. Thank you!! 🤌🏻

Fabulous authentic Italian in Southchurch. The arancini is delightful and the perfect starter to share. The seafood linguine was full of fresh mussels, prawns and squid and the pasta was silky smooth. Great Plin agnolotti with lamb too. The coffee is also superb and we got wonderful friendly service. It was relatively quiet as it was lunchtime but the ambiance is great, with a modern bright dining room. We’ll be back for sure!

A class act. Bright, airy dining room done out with cream, blue and gold. Excellent service. Great arancini. Nothing here was oily. The prawn pasta is out of this world ; the tomato paste is not tart and overpowering, the chilli likewise functions 'separately', so all ingredients with their distinct flavours, especially the lovely prawns, can be savoured fully. And not forgetting the sweet Roman buns (maritozzo?). Try them. Phenomenal place. Southenders are lucky.

The food, the atmosphere and service were all excellent. Attention to detail was given in service and the food was cooked well and with good ingredients as it should be, without the “greasiness” that comes when people try to reproduce authentic italian dishes. Everything we tried was spot on and will definitely go back.

Great little restaurant away from the main busy area of the town. Proper family Italian restaurant, great professional and friendly service. Lovely atmosphere in a bright and clean dining room. The food was great, especially the chili prawn pasta dish, beautiful fresh seafood. Try the cacio e pepe arancini starter, you will not be disappointed!

Amazing restaurant in an unlikely place! We found Monti by accident and had an absolutely brilliant meal. Crab spaghetti was one of the most delicious pasta dishes ever and my friend said the cod she ordered was the best fish dish she's ever had. It's run by a lovely friendly family who take a lot of pride in what they do, and rightly so because it's excellent. Sadly we were only visiting Southend for the weekend otherwise we would be coming back immediately!

I have just been in Monti as when it’s summer I always go there when visit Southend. This restaurant and food is amazing! Enrico the chef and her wife are kind and friendly! I’m Italian and the ingredients are proper fresh and high quality! I will always recommend Monti.

Was recommended here by a friend, I went on Valentine’s Day and it wasn’t busy and it was a nice atmosphere, until they took us to a seat next to the toilets, the waiter kept giving me threatening looks and one of the waitresses spilled food next to me and the didn’t clean it up for 10 mins, the food was bland and the pasta was over cooked and tough, safe to say that it was a very rememberable valentines for all the wrong reasons. Oh and they played the same Adele album on loop, very annoying after a while.

Really lovely service and great food. Nice not to feel rushed and able to take our time. Would recommend the bruschetta di trevi :)

I can safely say this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in my life. From the moment we walked into Monti Ristorante, we felt like VIPs. All the staff are so welcoming and such a delight. The owner is an absolute gent - he should be very proud of the masterpiece of a restaurant he has created. We opted for the Sauvignon (incredible, a stunning wine), shared the Mussels (beautiful) and had the Carbonara and Clam Spaghetti for mains - we ate every last bite. Simply delicious! If we ever come back to Southend we will 100% be coming back to Monti and will also be recommending this beautiful restaurant to all of our friends and family. Thank you so much!

Lovely place, good service,very comfortable

Only got a takeaway. Two pizzas. Ordered easily over the phone with a couple of extra toppings. They said it would be 20 mins. Got up there in 20 mins and waited for another 10. No biggy. Couple of chairs would have been nice. I would have smashed a quick half had I known. Again, not a big deal. £13 each. Crispy base. Nice toppings. Can still taste it now. Would I pizza here again? Oh hell yeah.

Very good food and wine with nice atmosphere. But our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived and we had to wait standing around and it then took another almost 30 minutes before staff came to take an order for the starter. Took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable experience.

What an awesome meal we had. Everything was fantastic. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Myself & my family ordered 8 dishes from Monti Ristorante to takeaway (as its easier with my rather energetic young nephews) which we collected from the restaurant 45 mins later.. The food was hot, tasty & no leftovers insight.. The Monti is dine-in or collection only which was fine as we are local.. Although we didn't eat-in, the atmosphere whilst we were waiting to collect was very chilled with a lovely rustic decor.. The staff were polite & helpful too & we will definitely order from there again whether it be a takeaway or attempting (with 'said' nephews) to dine-in..

Food are amazing, staff very welcoming, our last visit we waited quiet long to be served in between meals, but it’s very understandable that it was valentines and it’s quiet busy and they cook everything from scratch. So we definitely will be back

Montys is by far my favourite Italian restaurant. It’s family run and has real authentic Italian cuisine cooked by the family. Family photos in the restaurant give it a real intimate feel and the staff are brilliant. You’re greeted warmly by the staff and the food, well it’s 👌🏻 it’s fresh and aromatic, every time I go. I have taken all my friends and family and tell everyone about them. You will not be disappointed with anything about Monty’s.

This is a fabulous family run restaurant. The food is wonderful; it's really fresh and nicely presented. The waiters and waitresses are very helpful and happy to accomodate any requests to make changes to the dishes where they can. Prices are reasonable too. It was very busy when my hubby & I went (Friday night) but it wasn't overly noisy. The staff work really hard to keep everything running smoothly. We'll definitely make a return visit. The only reason I didn't give this a five * is because they got the drink order (just two drinks lol) wrong - twice.

Came across this restaurant randomly on a drive. Wow, what a great experience. The restaurant is very nice but the food was exceptional!!! Highly recommend this place!

What a lovely little restaurant, right in the heart of Southchurch! The food, atmosphere and service were all amazing and it was such a nice place for couples, families or friends to get together. The restaurant itself was decorated really beautifully and you really felt as though you were part of a big family; that being said, it still had a cozy vibe to it too. The food was delicious and packed full of flavour; we tried the bruschetta and suppli to start, along with the polenta i zola (I've seen this on a few menus and wanted to try it - so so good and definitely worth getting!!!). We then had the wild boar tagliatelle which was lovely and bursting with flavour too, and finally finished off with the tiramisu. All and all, it was a lovely first visit and we will definitely be returning! :)

Absolutely loved our meal tonight - the food, experience and service. Enrico was so kind and lovely, very efficient and flexible. We had a party of 15 so it could've been tricky but Enrico made sure we were looked after. Every single meal ordered tasted like a bit of Italy, so authentic! we really enjoyed our experience and will be back soon. Thank you to the owners and all who looked after us ❤ the decor made it feel like we were visiting good friends' Italian home!

Best Italian food in Southend!!

Is the best Italian restaurant in Essex, I've tried many in this area and this one is unbeatable. All the dishes we tasted were delicious. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant very nice. Starts by a great service, the menu is just amazing, always fresh food, homemade pasta and many other dishes that are just one better than the other. As for the prices they are fare. If you want a great food experience don’t hesitate, bring you girlfriend/ boyfriend and family you won’t regret it.

Stumbled across Monti's when I was in Southend, what a great find. Very friendly and welcoming, great service and AMAZING food, I had the Veal and spaghetti, perfectly cooked wonderful flavours, hats off to the chef, I live in Cambridgeshire but will definitely be back, well done all at Monti's ❤️

Now: credit to someone who put this place on the map. I found it randomly as I have been in the area hungry. And I don't regret it. Beautiful and atmospheric place for romantic date, meeting friends, family visit or celebration of bigger occasion. Elegant setting with white tablecloths and beautiful cutlery will make your visit special. The food is simply delicious and deserve special praise so kudos to the chef. Thank you to the staff which looked after me very well: you are a real deal which can make a big difference. I definitely enjoyed my time there and I can recommend the place.

With very few options on this town for Italian. I think this one ticks all the boxes. Food options are good and staff is amazing with excellent service. Pizza is not that great but pasta has better taste. Prices are very reasonable and has very nice dining area indoor. Enjoy
