Absolutely delightful! Excellent experience all around from atmosphere, to service, to tastes.

The food was very good as well as the drinks! Especially loved the gin drinks made from their Gatehouse Gin!

Outstanding food and great service too. I had the beetroot and feta to start then the duck for main. Cooked to perfection! Just wish we hadn’t waited until our last night to visit as would have definitely returned. Highly recommend!

Lovely setting and attentive staff. I had high hopes for a local restaurant. My starter of grilled halloumi was OK. A nice sweet chilli sauce and the halloumi had been heated up (it could have been hotter). 3/5 My main, the balmoral chicken burger ordered with visions of whisky sauce, chicken breast, and haggis arrived looking like a burnt frisbee. It tasted even worse. 0/5 On clearing our plates, the waiter enquired as to our satisfaction. I noted the burger was not to my taste - expecting chicken breast and haggis. He immediately nodded and noted I had received a “chicken mince burger”. Anyway, I would not recommend. A shame as lots of potential. Value for money - 0/5. £17 for my main, which (I hope for the chef’s sake) was not home made or at least an aberration.

We had a lovely early dinner at the restaurant, nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly. The steak was very good, highly recommended. The only downside is maybe the room temperature could be a bit warmer.

Had a nice meal, the food was very nice, a treat for is before we return home.

My 3rd visit and I was disappointed that I booked lunch for 2.30 pm and the soup was finished! Staff were pleasant and friendly. The food we did order was delicious.

Perfect village style accomodation. Beautiful presented, spacious dwellings. Nice leisure club. Good food. Great friendly staff. Good value for money in April.
