Mono London Restaurant in Tower Hamlets

This was our first visit to the Roman Road market, since lockdown and I was pleasantly surprised. We didn’t know Adam had left but the service was still great. Hot fresh coffee and really nice Staff. Now the market is starting to reopen we will start our regular visits again.

Adam is the boss who run it and been going there while me mum and sister went there and it in joy to eat what you order is lovley jacket potato with cheese and beans lovley red velvet cake yummy and he does the best cheese onion toast in London and he's capchio is lovley he really works hard from early in morning till 6pm is there very helpful all ways with smile you see on his face hopley when go back nomal we take mum in for meal since c19 lock down she not been in there once it open back to nomal we go there with family Adam thanks again for our food you done us see you soon😘🤗

nice buzzing atmosphere of people nattering away, adam the owner is a genuinely lovely guy who gives real personal service - not only a transaction but a chat, a joke, a human moment. the coffee is lovely too!

everything was amazing. the drinks are always reliably perfect. I have been coming to this coffee shop for the past 3 years and every single time I get anything from here, it is just a sure bet that I will enjoy it and that it won't break the bank. the owner is a wonderful man who is always such a joy to speak with and who honestly makes the whole experience and atmosphere so personal, relaxing, and just so much more than what you get when going somewhere else. as said in the title, I cannot say enough good things about Mono. I would, and do, recommend this place to everyone I know because everyone deserves to experience the pure bliss this man is serving with his products!!

I would highly recommend this place, the owner was very friendly and the customer service was perfect. I had the iced latte with vanilla and it was amazing, by far the best iced latte I have ever had.

Each time we go to Mono it always warrants a good review and today is no exception. For the first time in almost 6 months we visited Mono when we went to the Roman road Tuesday market. As we walked in Adam remembered our favourite drinks and cakes without prompting and as always, everything was first class. The inside was spotless and there were lots of seats outside so you could people watch as they visited the stalls. Won’t leave it six months next time !

Always a pleasant welcome from Adam. Coffees are good (even decaf) and the cheese toasties are absolutely top notch.

If coffee shops are the ‘new pubs’, filling the social void that once the area, then Mono’s coffee shop located on the Roman Road in Bow is one ‘local’ everyone should visit. Mono’s provides more than your average high street coffee shop and for me, the key detail setting it apart, is the quality and taste of its freshly brewed coffee. In a word - outstanding! And,with a selection of hot and cold sandwiches also on offer, there isn’t another shop in the area that comes close.

Cuando estoy en el Reino Unido por negocios, me hospedo en The Shangri - La in the Shard, a solo un corto trayecto en taxi de Mono's en el famoso Roman Road Market Boulevard.Cuando llego a Mono, me impresiona instantáneamente la impresionante arquitectura RoMo, con su maravillosa mezcla de art déco y Roman Road.Luego, cuando la música me golpea, no siento dolor, inspirada por el gran Steve Wright en su apogeo de Radio 1 en 1980, los ritmos suaves y el número uptempo ocasional brindan la mejor banda sonora para una buena taza de café.Oh sí, ¿mencioné el café?El café me ayuda a mantener mi racha de "Nunca he matado a nadie", y este lugar tiene las cosas buenas, las mejores que he probado fuera de Columbia. Finally got to visit last week, I live near and have meaning to visit but I just never happened until now...great coffee, great hot muffins and very relaxed atmosphere, well worth a visit while you're in the Roman..!!

This has been our favourite market for years especially at Xmas. Great bargains from lots of stalls, followed by great coffees and Danish pastries from Mono. There’s always great coffee great service and a friendly welcome here. Try it !!!!!

This cafe has a fabulous, friendly atmosphere; with the best coffee ☕️ and croissants in the area. Mono’s comfortable oversized armchair seating adds to its relaxing ambiance. Highly recommended.

Hemos estado en muchos lugares desde mi última revisión PERO NADIE viene cerca a hacer tan gran café. Adam tiene el don de hacer que realmente bienvenidos y su asistente joven es amable y eficiente. Hay muchos aperitivos, tartas y sandwiches calientes de salchichas y una baguette recién hecha es realmente buena. Last time we came to the market it was very quiet with not many stalls, but today it was packed. Very cold outside but a warm welcome from Adam with hot fresh coffee and a warm Danish pastry. This was the starting point for a shopping morning, and afterwards a hot coffee to take in the car for the journey home. Lovely warm interior and good coffee and snacks. What more can you ask for ?

Nice looking place with an Italian feel. The owner is awesome - friendly and helpful beyond what you'd exact, and with a great sense of humour. At least 9 tables outside - a fabulous place to watch the world go by.Great coffee, great paninis. Loved it.

Funny how hard it is to find a reliably good cup of coffee, with so many coffee shops about. Mono makes a perfect flat white and doesn't charge the earth for it. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, love the great coffee, food and welcoming atmosphere. It's the best cafe in the Roman Road Market by far. Well worth trying!

Today was sunny,the market was busy and the coffee even better than last time. More tables have been added outside and it was lovely to sit with a fresh coffee and hot Danish pastry. The display of food was really tempting and as usual a warm welcome was standard. Yes great to visit again. Try it for yourself.

We hadn't been able to visit for quite some time but we were not disappointed, we received a warm welcome to a spotless cafe . The coffee is still the best around and food fresh and hot with a good selection to choose from.. It is a great place to sit and people watch and then visit the stalls for some real bargains. Yes well worth the visit !!

First time visiting Roman Road Market. Walked into Mono and made to feel so welcome, try the mosserella sun dried tomato and pesto sandwich. Coffee and milkshakes really lovely.

Needed both a coffee and a toilet. The owner understood when the first question I asked was 'have you got a loo?', because if they hadn't, I'd have had to go somewhere else. Some cafe owners get tetchy about this and say 'for customers only', which is fair enough, but doesn't make you feel welcome. Anyway, the coffee tasted great, the croissant was fresh, the tables were spotless, there were great newspapers to read, and the loos were really clean and presentable. I wish I lived nearer: I'd be back. Very friendly place.

We have been coming to Mono for some time now and there is no way we can fault it.Adam is always welcoming and offers great service. The cafe is always warm and spotless. Food and snacks are varied and freshly made and drinks really hot.It is in the middle of the market and is a great place to relax whilst shopping.Try it you won't be disappointed !!

This place has all of the advantages of a trendy coffee shop - the very best coffee, cool décor, good food but it retains everything good and friendly that a local cafe should be about. Hipsters take note, you can have a nice coffee shop, but still a friendly welcome.

I regularly frequent Mono, it is a lovely place where you can get involved in some East End banter with the locals or just sit and watch the world go by!My personal favourite is the hot chocolate, it's the best I've had in London!The shop is very clean and the staff are very attentive and will go the extra mile to accommodate all.

Since spotting this wonderful cafe served my favourite coffee I always try and stop in for a warm and personal welcome with a great coffee and brilliant begals. Adam always remembers me even I haven't managed to get in for months. Staff are always efficient and fellow diners a wonderful mix of old, young, cockney and new East end residents.

As always, perfect host, perfect food and perfect coffee. We go as it is also child friendly. Awesome Hot breakfast is available all day but I usually stick to pastries and sandwiches!!

What a horrible experience was that. Sorry but i would not recommend it to not even my enemy. I ordered a coffee with a basic sandwich and had to wait atleast 10 minutes while the owner/ staff talking to their friends and the food was unedible.

After looking at great reviews from this company, I couldn't resist giving Mono a try. what a great atmosphere, from the people, to the quality food, and off course the fresh coffee is out of this world. The staff is very accommodating I must say, I feel like i have known the owner for many years. So thank you Adam, I highly recommend this place.

Mono is a really convenient and chilled coffee shop if you're up and down the Roman Road or visiting the east end. Adam and his staff are really friendly and engage you in nice chat as they make up your drinks and food. Some great breakfast and lunchtime staples porridge, scramble, omelette, smoked salmon, lovely bagels and other sandwiches. Also pastries and the best carrot cake I've ever tasted. And if you want something a bit different, Adam and his staff are always happy to make something up for you. The seats inside are comfy and there's space downstairs too if you want something more private. Or, on a nice day, sit outside and people-watch on a market day. Great place. Highly recommended.

My favourite coffee shop along the bustling Roman Road market. Good coffee and fresh baguettes and paninis. Plenty of extra seating downstairs and outside. Great to catch up with friends and just by yourself making use of the free wifi. My favourite Saturday haunt.

Situated on Roman Road, this café provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy market street. It's owner and the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is non-pretentious and relaxing. The coffee is decent and you can get a good range of other drinks and snacks. There's plenty of comfy seating inside and out - making it a perfect place to while away an afternoon.

Mono London has got to one of the best café's that I've been to. It's calm and peaceful atmosphere is really quite soothing. But, what really stands out for me is the exceptional service that I and other customers receive each and every visit. It's a breath of fresh air. Keep it up.

Mono is one of those places that keep it simple. A great coffee selection with a short food menu. When ever I'm there im made to feel very welcome. There double macchiato is the best I have ever had. In the east end there is no better place to watch the world go whilst having a coffee.

Mono is a lovely cafe on Roman Road. Not only has it a clean and elegant style, the service was friendly, the coffee delicious and NOT ridiculously over priced! What I loved about this place is the outside seating area. The chairs were comfortable, the area was covered and my favourite feature was that it also had space heaters. It's a great place to sit, relax and watch the world go by on this busy and interesting market street. I would definitely return again.

I visit Mono every time I'm on Roman Road for three simple reasons; the coffee is fantastic, the food is great and prepared fresh to your preference, and the staff/manager are some of the nicest café staff I've ever met. It's always a pleasure to go in and I genuinely can't fault them.

I think Mono is the right name for this cafe, it's got a style of its own.This has been my fav. local for a while now, I like to watch the world go by and do a few sketches. It's a nice balance- the owner cares about the coffee and food/ingredients etc. but it's unpretentious and friendly. And the chairs are comfy. And they do a nice lemon cheesecake. :3The sociability is also a nice part of it, I can disappear into my sketchbook, or put it down and natter with the staff or some of the local characters.Now for recommendations >:) salt beef bagel- cold with French mustard, or grilled with cheese;The baguette with meatballs;Lemon cheesecake;And the coconut milkshake, which I don't think is on the menu.

Lovely coffee and pastries, great value and nice to be able to support an independent coffee shop with character over the generic chain cafés that litter the high street. Pick up a loyalty card, collect 9 stamps and the 10th is free. If you fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of the Roman Road market but still like to spectate Mono is a great spot to sit back and soak up the atmosphere.

Great local cafe on Roman Road. Friendly, efficient service and plenty of seating on two levels inside and also outside on the terrace (wide pavement). Frequented by locals and visitors alike. Have a quiet time on your own or speak to the people on the next table, it's a great place to sit back in a comfortable chair and watch the world go by. They serve the best coffee in the East End. Hot drinks come with a little biscuit, a nice added touch. Scrumptious Danish pastries and croissants. The sandwiches, bagels, toasties and baguettes which are made freshly to order are delicious. Nothing is too much trouble. The toilets are really clean and the cafe is spotless. We went back three times in three days.

Mono provide the perfect caffeine pit stop when shopping in Roman Road E3. Plenty of seating on two levels and outside the shop. My latte was served with a small complimentary biscuit. Freshly made baguettes and bagels can be made to order. I recommend the hot meatball baguette. The toilet is the basement is reassuringly clean. The proprietor and staff are friendly and welcoming and remember me whenever I visit. Having visited this café several times I have noticed the same customers returning. Unlike the cafe's nearby competitors, I have noticed the same staff working there whenever I visit indicating the proprietor must be a good employer. Freshly made smoothies are also available as is a good Wi-Fi connection. A modern café with comfortable seating. Open Mon-Sat. give it a visit.
