Having had lemon chicken from here many times being excellent Last night 07/03/2025 @ 17:30 had the toughest oldest tasting chicken, seemed old food reheated , today during the night quite unwell I will not be going back😩

Rotten , only went as Kwok Pha was closed ! Got salt pepper chicken , no onions or chilli at all very dry , no taste , I asked for peas in my fried rice and the where clumped and dumped on the top , was warm not hot ! And £3:00 more expensive than Kwok Pho ! I’ll never go back that’s for sure ! Might of flung 13£ in the gutter !!!!!!!

Momo Palace has been my go-to takeaway for years. It used to be such good quality, amazing variety, affordable and quick service. The variety seems to have decreased over the years, but the food was still good. I ordered a veg chow mein with a side of satay sauce. I found chunks of chicken at the bottom of the satay sauce. I've not eaten meat for over 10 years and feel quite upset and sick about it.

William woke up on the wrong side of his bed when he wrote his review, if any tramps pocket tasted this good I’d be nomming them dry. For a place that doesn’t sell Salt and Pepper chicken, the salt and pepper chicken is brilliant. Also supplied me with a very durable wooden fork 10/10 <3

Ordered for the first time and it didn’t disappoint, the beef in black bean sauce with noodles and chips was delicious!!

This is a great take-out restaurant. I have no idea why people are rating it low. It's my go-to Chinese take-out in Newcastle. The food tastes great and the portions are very generous. It's a great deal for the money as well.

The food arrived hot and well packaged. It tasted very good and there was plenty for 2 people. I particularly like the boxes that open into plates.

Honestly the most incredible service I've ever received from a restaurant. From the time we made the order to the time we received it, it was a grand total of 11 minutes. The order was made up of 3 items and two of which had special instructions. Adding to the fact that the drive to the restaurant takes 7 minutes, the restaurant made the order in 3 minutes, perfectly, and it all tasted very fresh. We've ordered from momos successfully many times with lovely food, but this was most definitely a real reason to leave a review. 👍

Delvery driver is a bong eyed thief. Skinny little rat likes to steal and the take away just allow it. Scum

First time I've ordered from this place. Fast delivery.I ordered house special cashew nuts fried rice. it came in nice packaging The food was still hot. I really enjoyed my meal. I would need to try other things from here to really give an excellent review.

We ordered a takeaway from here recently. We weren’t sure after reading the reviews but the food was of good quality and we had no concerns. The price is affordable and delivery was quick.

We’ve had 2 deliveries recently from momo and they were lovely. Having never used this restaurant before I was a bit apprehensive but couldn’t fault it. Delivered quickly, piping hot, generous portions and very tasty.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Rice tasted like Aldi 35p rice and chicken curry was packaged sliced chicken. Whole meal is tasteless and most went in the bin.

Worse chinese I’ve ever had, chips were supposed to salt and chilli, but were just oven chips with a couple of peppers. Chicken curry was packet chicken and rice tasted like microwave rice.

pretty poor food tbh, wasn’t authentic chinese, rice was mushy, in all fairness the crispy beef we got was okay but the prawn toast was stale, and the butter chicken was not authentic or nice at all, it was simply plain chicken in a butter sauce which didn’t smell nice

never wrote a review before, but felt this one was strongly needed. Worst food i have ever ordered, even if i ordered food and it was bad i would not comment, but this was bad, bad. Feel slightly guilty posting this as i don't like damaging businesses, but i've got to post this. I ordered via just eat as they had discount code for this Chinese, thought i would try somewhere new, when we tried food it was awful, and we can put up with not good food and just bin it, but this time i asked for refund as it was awful, which they would not give me. loads better places out there.

Ordered a chicken Ku Bo and a sweetcorn and crab soup. Delivery came about 10 minutes after ordering which is usually a concerning sign. Looked like they had just thrown whatever they had left together. Barely any sauce, bone dry chicken and no vegetables other than onion. Really really poor.

I actually used to love this place but it’s went right down hill used to order once twice a week used to love there sui Mai but they’ve changed that as well ordered the other day because I had 35% off with Uber I got chilli salt and pepper prawns and bbq sauce the prawns were disgusting 🤮 used to be one of my favs as well the bbq sauce used to be the r best about but that’s changed as well I’m thinking they’ve might of changed owners because it’s no where near as good as it used to be

This is honestly the worst Chinese takeaway Iv ever had!!!!! Avoid at all costs! Chips were inedible. Must have been cooked on the Sunday night and I ordered the next Wednesday. No sauce. Chicken was revolting. If it even was chicken. Honestly avoid this place at all costs. Not worth it even if it was free!!!!!!!!

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Thick lumpy curry sauce.. bland cardboard-like tasteless chips, prawn toast stale hard and dry all the way through, munchie box came with a tub of cold lettuce and tomato mixed with hot broccoli and corn… mixed together into a lukewarm watery mess. “crispy deep fried chicken” completely dried out, the breadcrumb coating just falls straight off. Only thing I could describe as at least okay, was the fried rice.

I have ordered from momo for few years, tho they have been good in past, can't cook chips right . However tonight , delivery driver put my food on floor. When I opened food , chips cold, curry was almost green . Thick maysang glup, not what you expect for £8.80. Rang shop said curry is awful, was told "well I won't send another as that's just your tase. Take it up with just eat" i said "ok I will." Then he has ordained to ring me back and said manger says just don't order again. This was OK Chinese nothing special. So if u want good customer services , and even better food . Order eles where ! so avoid

I usually order from a dumpling restaurant in town but they weren't taking orders so decided to order from here. Really wish I'd read the reviews first. There's not much food I don't like but this was inedible. Some of it tasted "off" and foisty. Couldn't eat the buns as they were so sweet and felt like I was eating a pudding with meat. All I could eat was a few spoonfuls of egg fried rice which wasn't great either. All in bin. £20 down the drain. My cat wouldn't even eat the meat and he eats literally anything! Avoid this place

Absolutely stinking Chinese worst in Newcastle avoid at all cost the food will make you bad, i would really advise everyone to avoid this place my food is getting checked from environmental health at civic centre, and then when you complain you just get abuse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food arrived late but when it eventually arrived the chicken balls were bright pink, salt and pepper chicken was slimy and beef in black bean sauce tasted like hand sanitizer. Rang to complain about the pink chicken to be greeted by very rude staff who told me it isn’t their issue if it is pink as they know it’s cooked when the fryer reaches a certain temperature no matter how long the chicken has been in. When I asked for more to be cooked or for a refund they put the phone down and wouldn’t answer the phone.

Within a 5 min walk of this chinese, there are over 10 other Chinese takeaways. Every single one of them is better. Every one. Actually impressive. The food it's self is nearly always cold, but it's not even what you order. My go to order from the Chinese is "Deep fried crispy chicken, in Cantonese sauce, with fried rice". Every other place I go to, I get a tub of beautifully cooked chicken in Cantonese sauce with onions and peppers, and amazingly cooked fried rice. I ordered from here, and I open 1 tub. A stone cold chicken burger, on a bed of cold tasteless rice with a drizzle of red sauce stares back at me. The sauce tasted soapy, the chicken was rubbery, and the rice was all stuck together. Go to Jackie's or Kwok Pau, Or Mai Mai ... They're all less than a 5 min walk away, and they're all beautiful. Awful place, awful food.

Jus want to say this place totally destroyed my Christmas Eve as my food didn’t turn up we order with them every other week and my partner is at work today as a paramedic so last nite was our Christmas shocking service and jus eat did not help having to wait for a £30 refund 😡😡😡😡

Packaging was damaged - soup had leaked throughout. My favourite dishes all tasted differently and were unpleasant. The food was really bad, guys. You need to do something about this before you bow out. Justeat driver was atrocious. Restaurant was late sending it; driver got lost; I had to meet him at the local pub and then he tried to lecture me on how it wasn't his fault. Not the restaurant's fault but I would have sent it back if I could have.

Red flags everywhere but wanted to see and decide myself and unfortunately the bad reviews are correct. I had hair in my food 🤮 it might be ok for the chefs there to eat hair but please it's not ok for us. Try to just enter the place and you will see they very quickly close the curtain that show the kitchen, which is very suspicious.

ordered on uber eats, after 20 mins was told it was on the way, heard nothing after half an hour even though the place is 2 mins away, after attempting to contact them 3 times we were then told the driver had ‘gave our food to the wrong people’ we asked what they were doing about it but couldn’t hear a thing down the phone due to them shouting between themselves and screaming on, 3 more phone calls later and we were told once again told it’s just on its way, an hour and a half after the original order. food was stone cold when it eventually arrived. never ordering from here again and a suggest you do the same.

My normal Chinese was closed this evening, so decided to give this takeaway a try. I can honestly say we were not disappointed, all of our dishes, including dessert was beautiful, very tasty, came within 30 minutes of ordering via uber eats. The menu has a fantastic range, I would recommend and I will order again. Full as a bull, beautiful food

I've been looking at other reviews on this takeaway and not sure why it has so many low rated reviews. My experience with MOMO was really pleasant! Me and my other half ordered through the app which was very swift. We ordered the Singapore chow mein, sweet and sour crispy chicken, rice, crab and sweetcorn soup and a quarter of roast duck. We were really surprised by the quality of food here, everything was way above our expectation. The sweet and sour chicken was one of the best we've had from a Chinese I must say, it was tangy and not doused in food colouring like other places we've ordered from. The star of the show was the duck, cooked to perfection! It came as a whole leg, not shredded up like other places, the skin was so crispy and the meat was so tender! Honestly overall a great experience, definitely recommend ordering here!

Absolutely DISGUSTING customer service, I have ordered from here many times and they have yet to get an order right! Now as I say I have ordered many times so this review does not reflect the food quality... tonight I ordered my usual, as usual... the wrong order was sent out, I called and requested they replaced the order, I was told someone would “call me back later” and hung up on, so I called back, I was then told my order could not be replaced as they were “too busy” regardless of how busy I am still a paying customer!!! I was then told if I brought the food back myself they would replace the order, which I did... to then be told I had to wait 45minutes and they would not deliver, safe to say tonight was the final straw and I will not be ordering again. Should you wish to order from here be prepared for a mystery box arriving as you never know what your going to get given and absolutely appalling customer service.

writing a honest review of this place and it ranks N01 of worst chinese takeaways ive ever ordered 45-60 minute delivery time took 15-20 minutes great! turned out for the food to be frozen with no flavour the chicken musroom dish tasted old...the soups we ordered were not what we asked for and had no flavour £26 literally throwed in the bin would not reccommend

Ordered gravy fried rice and chips, the rice tasted off so I didn’t eat much. A few hours later I was projectile vomiting and was most of the night. I believe the rice wasn’t stored correctly and I have food poisoning. Will never order from here again.

Never had a problem with MOMO's! The dishes we get are always very generously portioned and very tasty, the veg fried rice is always especially full. Recyclable packaging is an added bonus and ordering through JustEat has never failed us!

Driver left food and ran away - should have waited to confirm delivery was completed, but was nowhere in sight by the time I got to the door. Penang chicken was awful. Way too hot for a Penang and just tasted WRONG. We won't be ordering from them again.

Honestly one of the best chinese takeaways I’ve had in England. I always order the same thing; house special singapore noodles and udon noodles in black pepper sauce and it’s always on point!

Just had my first takeaway from here It was a real disappointment I ordered chicken curry with rice and sweet n sour battered chicken On opening looked amazing amd portions were really impressive Upon tasting the curry i could only manage 1 mouthfull The amount of salt in it was disgusting i couldnt manage anymore I moved onto my s&s chicken Looked lovely massive pieces Opened my sauce amd was hit with a massive vinegary smell Dipped my xhicken and the so called sweet n sour was watery vinegary slop Really spoilt what would have been a good reasonable priced generous portion meal Really bad effort Woukd avoid this place

Extremely lack luster. Seems to be hit or miss for the most part and sadly on this occasion my order was disappointingly bland. Ordered the salt and chili chicken, which is usually my go to order. The chips tasted like they were reheated multiple times and the the salt and chili was tasteless, lacking any hint of flavour which was probably closer to a box of battered chicken with some onions and chili's added. Don't think I'll be ordering again when there are a number of better restaurants in the area.

Just had another fabulous takeaway from Momo Palace. The food was really tasty and the portions a lovely size. Will come back here again and again.

I love it chilli salt and peppers prawns are amazing and you get plenty I also get sweet and sour king prawns balls I don’t like sweet sour so I ask for them to change the sauce to bbq which they do free of charge I have got other dishes that haven’t been the best but the 2 mentioned above are amazing 😉

Order came 2 hours after the order was placed! A full meal was missing so we paid £8 for thin air! Very annoyed and to top it off food was cold. Poor service on the phone followed by even more worse service on the door step. Person who gave me food slightly mixed the order up and didnt realy had an idea whats going on. Tried to ring and explain the mistake, but it was all worthless as nobody realy cared about what has happened. Best thing about this shop are massive portions, however - everything was cold when it arrived, as a reminder order was mixed . Would not recommend.

Ordered food two evenings ago. I received the wrong food (only vegi and fish was ordered and I received a house special). I tried to contact the restaurant a few times without success and left a message with my details and explaining the issue. I still haven't heard back, two days later. Won't be ordering again. I advise avoiding this take away.

I ordered a Japanese seafood pancake and it only had 2 king prawns with a bit seaweed and sauce on top, the rest of the pancake is cabbage which I can get in Morrison with £1. This costs me £7.40 for the cabbage pancake with 2 prawns, which supposed to be a seafood pancake. NEVER GO BACK AGAIN AND WARNING OTHERS WHO GOING TO BUY FOOD HERE!!!

Absolutely amazing! Super fresh, tasty, huge selection on the menu of all different types of Asian food. They were very accomodating at making my meal vegan & I requested fried rice without egg, Tom yam Thai soup, tofu with chilli & garlic salt, chips, massamum curry, all custom made vegan. Delivery was very quick, love the cardboard containers which are better for the environment. Amazing value for money & glad I have now found my favourite take away in the area! Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was very disappointed when I opened the white cardboard container concealing the food. I was greeted to dry, yellow chow mein with hardly any soy sauce. I thought oh well, won’t be going here again.

Order was completely wrong, rang them as soon as it arrived to say it was wrong and was told 'you should have asked for this this and this' salt and chilli chicken was nice to be fair but infuriated writing this hahah.

First time trying the place and I won't be back in a hurry. My chowmain,chips,fried rice, curry sauce looked and tasted like it had been swept all the way around byker wall and picked up and thrown in a container. Personally I'd sack chef. Roadkill would probably be alot tastier.

I rang Mo Mo to speak to them directly rather than just post a review but I was told “thank you and goodbye “ we usually go to Jackie Chinese, but as it is closed on a Tuesday we took a chance with Mo Mo and downloaded the app . After receiving an email saying it would be here at 18.41 pm I rang Mo Mo and hour later, who were not aware of any app order . The food arrived shortly after beautifully packaged and in plenty. However the fillet steak was tough and there were mushrooms in the dish ( my husband is allergic). The prawn dish I ordered was tasteless even though it was beautifully prepared . We thought that by paying a bit extra we would have a really nice tasty meal . That was not the case , sorry I won’t be coming back .

Ordered during snowy weather, took an hour and a half for them to call us and tell us they weren't able to fill our order, by then everything had closed from other restaurants to supermarkets, leaving us with no food for the night.

I used to work here, the kitchen table was dirty and smelly.There are bugs on the kitchen floor. I was sick for 2 days. The kitchen was terrible！！！Very Terrible
