Moes Grill in Banbridge

Horrible food and terrible service. Would give no stars if possible. We were lucky we got a starter as it was the only edible thing we were served. The cog burger was disgusting and inedible due to the mean being so dry and low quality. Garlic chips were drowned in garlic and soggy. Nachos also soggy and lacking crunch. Waited 20 minutes after finishing for a server to come round and collect plates etc. The servers were too busy talking to the chef and on their phones so had to go up and pay at the bar. Avoid this place

Had to send my food back as was cold in parts. Brisket was like eating plastic & the cheddar mash was tasteless I will never be back

Just okay. Menu options are trying to be too many things at once. Pare back the dishes a little and let flavors shine. Skinny fries were tasteless. Portions are far too big. Simplify and serve up less but better quality and better tasting food. Not all it’s cracked up to be. I wouldn’t be in a hurry back.

Really not good. Three of us are three different dishes, they all tasted remarkably similar, like salt. Overpriced poor food. Service was okay, but not particularly friendly or engaging. All of the staff were eating and drinking when they weren’t serving. Wouldn’t say never, but probably won’t visit again.

Closes far too early on weekends, says on the internet it is open to 9 although last orders seem to be taken before 8 as we were told on the phone. It is a lovely place to eat and does good food but opening hours aren’t suitable. This is the fourth time we have been let down.

They refused to serve me as I have a (mild) peanut allergy. They don’t accommodate for nut or sesame allergies because “the chef isn’t comfortable with the risk of cross contamination”. With this reasoning, I can’t really understand why it’s specific to there allergens and not other very common allergens on their menu such as dairy, gluten or shellfish. They have a small A4 sign they have now put up on the door. I have another very serious allergy also, but this issue has never arisen anywhere else, ever.

Visited Moes Grill for lunch this afternoon. We were brought to our seats and told we would have to wait 15 minutes for food. We were happy enough as 15 minutes isn't too much of a wait. The restaurant wasn't busy and there was an abundance of servers on. A family came in 5 minutes after us. Their order was taken before ours. After we had waited 5 minutes from their order being taken, I had to go and ask someone if we could place our order. Fast forward 25 minutes and the family next to us had got their food, finished it and left. We were still waiting. In the meantime, the young fella at the bar and one of the male servers, were helping themselves to chicken wings at the bar while most of the female servers were huddled around gossiping. Can I suggest management enforce a hygiene policy and ask staff to wash their hands after consuming food and maybe not eat in front of hungry customers? I would also ask that any reason for delays in food are explained? The lack of enthusiasm on the restaurant floor is shocking. The staff don't seem to want to be there. We had our 3 year old with us and were expecting free ice cream as part of his meal, as advertised. This wasn't offered to us. As we were leaving we noticed a lot of colouring pages beside the bar area - No-one came near us to offer this to our child. The food, however, is a completely different story. Massive portions and absolutely delicious. Its a shame the chef and kitchen staff don't have a better waiting staff. I feel the overall attitude of the front of house brings down the entire restaurant and that is the reason we have given a 3 out of 5 rating. I was going to give 1 out of 5 but it wouldn't be fair on the chef and kitchen staff as they really did provide a delicious meal. Unfortunately we will not be returning to Moes Grill - the price we paid absolutely did not reflect the service we received.

Consistently great food. Can be busy at times, booking is recommended. Massive portions at reasonable price. Never had a negative experience.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Choices on menu suited everybody. Food was tasty, portions were good. Would be happy to return

The customer service here is dreadful! The cost of our bill was high, this can’t be helped and no fault of the restaurant. But management (I use that word lightly) or head office should be ensuring the standard of customer service is high to compensate for this. We had several servers, the staff had a terrible attitude and we waited over 30 minutes for our food, we saw other tables served before us. I’ve no idea who trained them! I issue this review with 1 because of the waiting staff and their poor service. I can not praise the standard of food it was excellent and complements to the chefs they clearly keep this place open!! They clearly deserve a five but their colleagues on the floor bring it right down. Time for new management!

We weren't expecting much at lunchtime on the Boulevard, but were pleasantly surprised to find Moes an airy, American-style eatery. Service was excellent from the start. We were quickly seated and brought drinks. (delighted to see they serve alcohol) We had the breaded chicken with sweet potato fries and the beef with mash. The servings were twice the size expected, and we were glad we hadn't ordered starters! Our only complaint was that the meat was rather overcooked. The menu has lots of choice; there are around twenty sides! I hardly recognise the place from some previous reviews......did we arrive on a good day? For a simple good value meal I think it would be difficult to beat Moes.

We had only just sat down and were told that we had to order our food immediately despite the restaurant being open for over an hour longer. Less than a mintue later, the same server reappeared wanting our order and when we queried why the rush, he got relatively abusive and started saying that they needed to rush. We walked out less than two minites after walking in. Really abusive, pushy and dam right cheeky. Avoid, avoid, avoid....

We visited here on the 2 January as a lot of other restaurants were closed. We had been here a good while ago but thought it would be nice but it was just ok. Three is us went for food on my recommendation. We ordered some drinks of what looked like a floor manager. Took 20 minutes to come after asking numerous times. He never came back to us and we had to ask young females where is our drinks. I was so thirsty because of diabetes. My male friend wanted hot chilli peppers on his beef curry. Young girl had to ask as she did not know what they were. I ordered bbq ribs. Which came with a soggy piece of garlic bread and coleslaw which is a salad item. Ribs were OK, but not special and had not been marinated. Only sauce thrown over top. My female friend asked for starter ribs with no sauce over them. Young girl did not know if they could do that. They had no starter soup so male friend ordered sweet potato fries as a starter. They were OK. I ordered Korean bbq beef salad starter as really my main. It came with the smallest amount of chilli peppers, which I did not order. The beef was cold. My friends curry arrived with no chilli peppers which he ordered as they mixed up and there was only 6 pieces anyway on mine. My lady friend who asked for dry ribs reviewed a platter with non wanted sauce on top, soggy garlic bread, onion rings which were not ordered and a jug of bbq sauce which she specifically told the girl she did not want. The platter we never ordered. The beef curry was more Indian flavour than Chinese as stated and looked like beef was fried separately and sauce thrown over. A shop bought pita which was described as flat bread and it too was cold came with it. Another portion of sweet potato fries appeared which were not ordered. I had to ask for side plates for the bones. My ribs came with lemon tissues inserted into the food. The other portion came with no lemon wipes at all. My lady friend ordered a simple glass of iced water. Another 15 minutes passed and after numerous enquiries it came. My two starters and bottle of orchard thieves came to nearly £20. Leaving the medium sized cider over £7 which is a bit much. The other two people's bill came to £52 despite the fact they had much more food and double whiskey, cider, pure orange juice and food ordered and not ordered this suggests the bill was all mixed up. I have to say the service was terrible. The floor manager kept well away. No one came to ask if all is OK? Cold, average, cheap ingredients,food, Mixed up orders. Slow slow service. So poor and 3 stars is being generous.

Visited Moe's grill as a large party for a birthday. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Order taken quickly, food was delicious, piping hot and we got huge portions. Definitely value for money and we will be back.

Pretty basic food at a slightly higher price that reflects the food. Chicken strips bland and rubbery, not crispy as on menu. Onion rings are just frozen ones. Don’t think much is cooked fresh.
