Avocado on sourdough with beetroot hummus and vine tomatoes. Superb quality, very tasty and filling. Large portion for me. Cakes are brilliant, lots of choices. Really enjoy this venue, staff are quick to respond, providing a very pleasant atmosphere for everyone. Oh yes, and the music is rather good too, adds to the ambience! Long may it continue. Very well run establishment.

Unbelievable food. Like you would never imagine the standard of food and presentation to be this high for small bites on a Sunday afternoon. Quick service and friendly staff too. They got everything right. Don’t hesitate just try it for yourself, absolutely the best cafe I’ve been to in a long time. Thank you for such an amazing lunch ❤️

Probably the best breakfast I've ever eaten. Will definitely be returning for the supper club based on the eggs benny with sweetcorn fritters.

Lovely stop after a walk on the Chevin for a coffee and a cake (or cruffin, in my case)! Relaxing spot with a lovely atmosphere and great outdoor seating.

My husband and I came for the super club at the end of May, it was fantastic. Although I am vegan my husband isn't and he also loved the food. There was not a single part of it we didn't enjoy. I could have eaten it all over again. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is so calm and lovely. It is a gorgeous venue. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was a wonderful evening. We can't wait to come to the next one!

This place is such a gem!! We have tried their usual menu during the day which is great, but once a month they do an evening supper club and it is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! We went this month and I have no idea how, but the corn was the most incredible thing I have ever tasted in my life. I literally haven't stopped thinking about it and it was only corn. All of the courses were to die for, and it was all vegan!!!! Such an amazing place. Only downside is it's pretty inconvenient to get there by public transport :(, definitely recommend car or taxi

Great Turkish eggs, and a generous avocado on toast with extra eggs. Tucked away behind a wedding venue, across from some beautiful woods for a walk or run, this is a perfect spot for refreshment. The food is really quite excellent, but it's a shame the tea comes only by the cup; no pots.

This has quickly become one of our favourite places. The food is of a consistently high standard, the service is always excellent and the hot chocolate - with whipped cream and marshmallows - is a decadent delight. Yesterday we finally tried the desserts and were not disappointed. The Guinness cake was delicious and the lemon polenta was divine. Heartily recommended. The photos are of the exquisite sweetcorn fritter tacos and the delectable fried halloumi sandwich.

So many times I've cycled past this cafe, but never have I been in. My preconceptions of Mistal have always been that it was generally a day trippers lunch venue with nothing to offer a long distance cyclist in a rush; and I've never once seen bikes parked up there, just enormous SUVs. I ordered a coffee cake and tea for one with extra milk; the waitress kindly asked if I had enough milk, which I didn't, and more arrived promptly. As I sat looking at what I had for my £6.75, I couldn't work out what overheads and direct costs the business might have to justify such a price, but the service was quite prompt. The cake was gluten free, as is the fashion now, so it tasted like it had been frozen or left out in the sun too long, but the coffee buttercream was very good. Due to price this is unfortunately not a cyclist cafe, but if you need fast calories then venue itself is quite pleasant.

The Mistal kitchen always has delicious food and amazing tray bakes. The food is mainly vegetarian friendly and comes in good portion sizes. The venue does have some carparking and a little outdoor seating, but also has indoor seating. This can sometimes feel a bit cramped but adds to the atmosphere. Because it is a small place service can be a bit slow at times but is always pleasant. It is cannily situated so it can be at the beginning or end of a walk around Chevin country park. Or even in the middle!

We were in the area visiting from Manchester and stopped by with friends. it was very busy and the staff was generally lovely and friendly but the service at the till from a lady with long dark hair, could have been a bit warmer. Granted there was a queue and it was full but given the job and the industry, a smile wouldn’t go amiss and in fact would go a long way. The food was lovely and we will visit again if we are in the area but it’s a shame when staff dampen the experience.

Have visited Mistal kitchen a number of times recently and am always impressed with the quality of the food, coffee and cakes . You can tell that a lot of effort is being made in the kitchen . However, have been less impressed by the customer service on the last few occasions. It’s not unusual to wait up to 45/50 minutes for food when it’s busy and when I suggested it might be an idea to inform customers of this at the point of ordering it did not seem to be received as a positive suggestion but as a complaint . On the next occasion we visited when it was actually pretty quiet the member of staff who served us was quite ‘brusque’ . Nevertheless a great place to eat if you aren’t too bothered by indifferent customer service .

Very tasty, beautifully presented, sizeable portions, good service, and great location to be able to walk off when you overeat. We had the hash brown bennie, pumpkin French toast - both fab - and the real star was the Turkish eggs. Love all the quirky decor, and the beer garden must be lovely on a warm day

Love that the menu is vegetarian so I can choose anything on the menu. It’s generally busy so book if you can - as a result the service can be a little rushed. I had hash browns eggs benny which was really delicious - I added halloumi which was a generous portion. My boyfriend had the spiced potato burger which could do with more of a hit. The only issue was the drinks - I had hot chocolate previously which was lovely but this time it tasted like instant which was disappointing. Wasn’t sure whether there was a problem was the barista machine but it did let it down. Overall well worth a visit for the glorious food alone! Try and find a quieter day and book if you can!

My wife and I visited the café with our 18-month-old and our brother & sister-in-law and their 9-month-old. The staff were lovely and very accommodating to our hectic table! The food was gorgeous and the portion sizes were generous. And, most importantly, the coffee was fantastic! We'll 100% go for a second helping if we are in the area again. Keep up the great work, guys.

I just stumbled across Mistal Kitchen online & booked it for my friend’s birthday brunch. It was probably one of the best brunches I’ve ever had - delicious, generous portion (I had the Smokey Beans on Toast) & in a cosy and charming setting. It’s dog friendly and just across from Otley Chevin car park so we walked off our brunch afterwards. They sell great takeaway cakes & pastries at the till as well as some lovely looking artisanal pantry goods to take home. I highly recommend this place - I’ll be back very soon & repeatedly I think!

Currently congratulating myself for making a wise decision. For a change from working at home, gazing at the same four walls, I decided to book free workspace at the Mistal and I’m so glad I did. Lovely, cosy and warm and good food too. What a great idea, I will definitely do this again.

The Supper Club is highly recommended. It was exciting not having to choose your dishes and you could try new things with each of the 3 courses offering variety and lots of it! We were a large group so you could wander to other tables in between courses and the staff were amazing - really friendly and really helpful. We all had a great time - thank you!

Friendly staff and a great place to refresh after or during, a walk on Otley Chevin. The toilets are nice. Mistal is an old word for a cowshed. This building used to be a cow shed. Inside it is a warren of small rooms set up with tables and interconnected. It's got an intimate feel as a result. The decor is modern, not chintzy, but the character of the building has been retained.

Went tonight for my partners birthday. We have never tried a seafood boil before and after hearing amazing things from here we wanted to try it for ourselves. We had a medium seafood boil, the soft-shell crab and the seasoned fries. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, the fish was fresh and you could definitely tell with how light it was. It was all packed with flavour and so all so moist. The way the lobster soaked up all the juices from the sauce was amazing. We would definitely recommend and will be returning. We didn't wait very long once arriving to receive our food by a very polite and welcoming chef. Thank you

Wonderful restaurant. I have certain things I can not eat like garlic and a lot of things had garlic in, so they made special tapas just for me that tasted amazing. The waitress was the best service I have ever had since beng diagnosed with Chrohns Disease 10 years ago.

Rang them up after waiting over an hour for my food and was told “wait 1 hour” then after 2 hours waiting time I rang them to ask for a refund and was told the driver was outside the house even though I was stood outside calling him a lier. I was then ignored for 20 minutes whilst ringing them to ask for a refund when the driver finally stifled after 2.5 hours with cold food. The rice was dry the lamb was mediocre and the Masoub literally looked like dog food! Il upload a photo for you to decide if this looks like a Yemeni royal masoub! I was repeatedly ignored when asking for a refund and made to wait a ridiculous time for cold and unsatisfactory food! This place is not authentic and has poor customer service!
