Mishti desh in Birmingham

What a lovely evening today. Starters were very flavourful and tasty (lamb chops, fish pakora, kebab and shinghara). The main food was delicious. I would recommend Mishtidesh Coventry Road to anyone

ordered butter chicken only to be provided tikka or tandoori chicken with the butter chicken sauce not what i ordered!!!! plus i don’t feed my baby food colouring and i slater found food colouring chicken angry and disappointed that they would cut corners

This review is based on food that were provided by Mishti Desh at a wedding in Birmingham on 30.07.24. The salad looked old, probably made a day/night before, I avoided altogether. Fish pakoras were over cooked, and the kebabs , samosas and chiken tikkas had vey little flavour/taste. Meat curry was ok but had far too much gravy. The worst dish was the vegetable. It had so much water/gravy that it looked a curry dish. I avoided it. Gulab jamun and ice cream were ok. Overall, I would not recommend their food, based on the meal that I had at the wedding.

Food quality and service has gone very poor. Had amazin food 2 yrs back . Now, the bengali food is all very pricey but none fresh. All frozen veges used, frozen shrimps not tasty at all. Prices have gone up butnot quality!

Met with friend for brunch as I hadn’t been here for a while. The interior has improved greatly, more spacious and lovely decor. Tried their brunch menu and it was delicious. The service was good and the staff were attentive. I’d definitely come here again.

Mishtidesh has launched an excellent breakfast manue with reasonable price. Very tasty. Service is appreciatable

I thought Mishtidesh will be good place so order a take way , but guys meet is poor quality , with fat on the meat and borne only , taste is so bad i cant even eat to much spice only spices smell chicken curry is like keema paste , price is high , i my self and my family will not go for anything , oh there mishti is so poor quality only u can taste is sugar , i made a compline the owner with the glasses told me in a bad way don't like don't come then , we are not asking you to come , i told him will not recommend to any one he just laugh and look at me bad ways , rudely says take your mony back and dont come back again we don't care , guys if there takeaway and delivery service is bad i had to wait for food 4 hours , and there are not pleased , people think before what you are eating in mishtidesh , there stuffs don't understand English , i don't go and never recommend - to me mishtidesh is one of the junk bangali places ,

Hola, pedí dos veces desde aquí, dos veces pedí comidas para 5 niños, que vienen con papas fritas y bebida, dos veces no las recibí en la primera entrega, una vez que me quitaron las papas fritas una hora después y luego la primera entrega, las papas fritas no se podían comer, empapadas en aceite Por segunda vez, envié 1 bebida y papas fritas, cuando ordené 5 comidas, cobraron el dinero completo por las comidas, no obtuve comidas completas, muy decepcionado, no volveré a ordenar desde aquí.

Fuimos en grupo por primera vez, ya que habíamos leído algunas buenas críticas. Decepcionado con la comida y el lugar. La Borta estaba muy fría, debieron guardarla en la nevera durante la noche. Ahora que sé cómo funcionan las cajas registradoras, si un cliente te da moneda de curso no legal, entonces la mantienes separada en una sección de la caja, lejos de las otras monedas de una libra. ¡Pero se supone que no debes intentar quitárselo a otro cliente! Me estremezco al pensar en cuántas personas entran aquí para pagar sin contacto cada día, agregando una libra o dos más a cada transacción que seguramente se suma al negocio. Nunca volveré aquí. Si elige ir aquí, tenga mucho cuidado y verifique la cantidad en la máquina de tarjetas antes de darles su dinero. Comportamiento repugnante!

According to the bill and after 50% discount. The drinks can of pop was charged £2. Each. Beware they are taking advantage of people excited by the low Bill. Gonna report to trading standards. Ask for a breakdown and you will be shocked !

I have been in this restaurant quite a few times during Ramadan, the has got a large selection of menu but no so tasty, they are doing very busy .. they should find a good chef .

Friends came from London and took them for breakfast on 29th February. No greeting at all this time. Normally always we get very warm welcome and we are used to with it. So got shook this time. Ordered Chapati, Omelet, mix vegetables, sweet and tea. Omelet was not cooked properly in the middle, we did not bother about it. But the mix vegetables was very bellow of their standard. Not only me also my other three guests believe that chef forgot to put salt and chilli. Informed waiter regarding this and requested for green chilli. Fresh Chilli given but no extra action taken. Did not enjoy the breakfast at all and felt shame coz I brought guests with me. Spent £33 and felt wasted of money. We would rather enjoyed McDonald egg muffin breakfast. Really got very disappointed from one of my favourite restaurants that’s why writing this review. I hope management will take care of it.

Mis amigos y yo estábamos buscando comida auténtica de Bangladesh después de que nuestro restaurante favorito Grameen Khana cerrara en Ladypool Road. Mientras buscamos en Coventry, la higiene de 5 estrellas nos atrajo a este restaurante, ¡gran error! Al llegar, un camarero se nos acercó presumiendo que estábamos allí para comprar mithai (dulces) mixtos, que claramente no estábamos. Después de esto, nos hizo esperar mientras preparaba una mesa para nosotros. Después de un rato, un miembro del personal de habla inglesa se nos acercó y le dije que íbamos a tomar el buffet y pedir un plato shatkora del menú. Le pregunté si la comida en el buffet era fresca e insistió en que estaba pero parecía seca y como si hubiera estado allí durante mucho tiempo. Cuando lo probamos, teníamos razón. El aloo satni estaba frío como si hubiera sido sacado de una nevera. Las patatas fritas realmente secas, el pescado al curry insípido. El aloo Bazi horrible y grasiento. The food was outstanding starters, main and desserts. Service was Amazing. Would definitely go back again!

La comida era realmente buen gusto y bien de precio. Le he dado un 3 porque las chuletas estaban un poco duras y masticables, y el puris estaba un poco grasiento. Sin embargo, hoy el servicio fue pésimo, ya que el camarero discutió agresivamente durante un par de minutos después de que nos informaron que llevábamos 14 minutos esperando y nadie se molestó en atendernos. Después de hablar con él 3 veces y luego me han dicho que te serviré cuando tenga tiempo.Mi amigo habló con el gerente, quien le informó que "él es joven", por eso es así. The quality of food is very poor due to old chef leaving. I found out the hard way after ordering food for my son wedding. Almost all my guest was disappointed with the food.I complained but they keep ignoring.Really disappointed.

So we decided to take the plunge as we hadn't been here for a few years. Prior to turning up we called to confirm what dishes they had, meat curry and CHICKEN curry (the main ones, really) were part of the buffet, we were told, desserts too.

Very nice food and friendly staff. Loved the buffet and sweets was too yummy. Highly recommend. Will back soon

I frequently visit mishtidesh as the food is good for a buffet restaurant however the last two times the standards seem to have dropped the curries were not very good too many bones in the meat and fish dishes and the starters are not great anyway never have been but i suppose in buffet restaurants starters tend to dry out.

Very cheap (price wise) place to come and eat. Only thing which impressed us were the prawns. The rest of the food was very average. If you find any dishes were finished the staff made a good effort to get it asap. Staff were helpful. Venue was ok.

we were due to serve food between 1.30 - 2.00pm , mishti desh staff arrived at 10.00am I was worried however with the years experience they have , everything was prepared out of the pots into platters , then into warmers ready for the waiters to serve . I was absolutely overwhelmed with the food & service . Mishti desh made us proud on the day .... I have my full trust in this company , I'd like to thank Muqadam for the outstanding menu & staff supplied ... I cannot thank you enough ... Definitely 5star for mishti desh , Mishti desh supplied the starter , main course , desert also tea at the end . Thank you once again

Large range of bengali food and mainly bengali sweets of offer. The food is okay for a buffet and is prices for £8 for lunch time.

Foods okay but service is very bad.I asked for a roti and they gave me after finishing my main meal and after finishing my stater they don't even cleand my table.as a Bangladeshi I am very disappointed!! I will not recommended any one

Went for the buffet. Relatively small selection. Few very good dishes eg Biryani and mutton. Would have liked a few more dishes. Curries with authentically Bangladeshi. Good value. Good service. Pretty clean.

i was really looking forward to my trip to mishti desh restaurant with my family as we have been purchasing food from there since i was a child. on first impressions it looks very smart with matching furniture and curtained areas for private family dining. once seated, a waiter decided to place bottled water on the tables without asking us or taking any drinks orders, i sent them all back. i had to ask for menus as we had been seated for a good while and had not yet been offered drinks or a menu. after receiving a menu, i then spent a long while waiting for someone to take our order. eventually my parents gave up and went to the main till area for takeaway items to order our starters, as the waiter walked past to pass this onto the kitchen i had to stop him and tell him our mains orders.starters of somosas and shammi kebabs arrived with salad and sauces, the somosas were lovely as per usual however the kebabs looked like industrial made cheap burgers and were very salty and overspiced. for mains, i ordered special masala, lamb biriyani and peshwari naan. the naan was very tasty but the special masala was too spicey and not enough meat. the 2 biriyanis arrived with dhaal and vegetable curry which was nice enough however the biriyani was definitely not a biriyani! it was a meat pilau and a very basic one at that.overall i was very disappointed with the food considering how much the total bill was. it is cheap enough but i would say that it is still too much for the standard of food received. waiting staff definitely need a day trip out to see how real customer service needs to be formatted.

Fantastic lunch time deal. Eat as much as you like for a set price. Rice & chips is served as ordered. Private rooms for families. Clean surroundings & very central to all the shops. Outstanding food & service.
