Fantastic food, wine and ambience. Very friendly and informed staff. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Worth a ferry over from Mull if you're staying in Tobermory.

My partner and I were blown away by our five-course tasting menu at Mingary Castle. The chef is so talented and creative. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time - and we are foodies from London so we’ve tried a fair few. The staff were really friendly and made the evening perfect. A hidden gem… just not sure how long it’ll be able to stay that way, so book quickly!

Amazing experience at Mingary Castle, our second visit and both have been exemplary. Stunning views, warm and welcoming service, absolutely faultless food. Really really loved the pistachio basque cheesecake, easily the best I've ever had and I'm not normally that into desserts! Very well done and worth every penny.

The food experience at Mingary Castle is out of this world. Some of the best food I've ever tasted. The eight course tasting menu was well designed, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The staff are very knowledgeable and deliver exemplary service

We had dinner on both nights of our stay, and on both occasion dinner was exceptional in every way. High end dining making the best of great local ingredients. The waiting staff couldn’t have been more attentive or pleasant. Thoroughly recommend for a fantastic dining experience.

Booked at short notice so ate early evening. Absolutely delicious and easily adapted the tasing menu for the vegan in our group of 5. Interesting menu, beautifully presented and not too much considering there were 5 courses. p.s. Does Penny Morduant know you've got her coronation sword in your downstairs bathroom? :)

We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.
